Rock art is one of those things that just captivates your attention. The ancient carvings, drawings, and paintings tell a story. Sometimes we can interpret what that story is and sometimes we can't. World renowned rock art expert, Dr. Alan Garfinkel joins

The Rock Art Podcast is an absolute gem for rock art enthusiasts everywhere. As someone who has always been fascinated by the ancient art form, finding a podcast dedicated solely to this topic was a dream come true. The hosts, Dr. Alan Garfinkel and Chris Webster, along with their expert guests, bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to each episode, making it an incredibly educational and enjoyable experience.
One of the best aspects of The Rock Art Podcast is the comprehensive coverage it provides on various aspects of rock art. From discussing different styles and techniques to exploring the cultural significance behind these ancient drawings, the podcast delves deep into every facet of rock art. The hosts not only present the information in a way that is easy to understand but also manage to engage and entertain their audience throughout each episode.
Another great aspect of this podcast is the variety of guests that are brought on board. By inviting experts from different fields related to rock art, such as archaeologists, historians, and anthropologists, The Rock Art Podcast manages to provide a well-rounded perspective on the subject matter. This collaboration adds immense value to the discussions and ensures that listeners gain insights from multiple angles.
On the negative side, one minor drawback of The Rock Art Podcast is its occasional reliance on technical jargon. While it may be understandable given the complexity of some topics discussed, it can sometimes alienate listeners who are not well-versed in archaeological or anthropological terminology. However, this should not discourage potential listeners as most episodes strike a good balance between academic language and accessible explanations.
In conclusion, The Rock Art Podcast is an exceptional resource for anyone interested in rock art or archaeology in general. It offers comprehensive insights into various aspects of this ancient art form while managing to keep its audience engaged throughout each episode. Whether you're a novice looking to learn more about rock art or an avid enthusiast seeking further knowledge and discussion, this podcast is definitely worth your time. I highly recommend giving it a listen and sharing it with friends and colleagues who share your interest in rock art.

In order to begin to understand the symbols we see on the rocks and the people that made them we need to understand their environment. Carlos Gallinger has spent a lifetime studying the habits of the Bighorn Sheep in order to understand the people that live with, and off, off them. For example, it's not feasible to take down a Bighorn sheep ten miles from your family. You need to be where the sheep are and understand them.
