The most violent, family friendly podcast on the internet. This show is about looking at the love of MMA from a true fan's perspective, in a way that keeps you up to date with the trends in the sport and still honors the fans who have supported the fight game since it's inception. We strive to be relevant and poignant. We love the history of the sport and the era in which it started. Enjoy our banter and pop culture references as we navigate the hobby that has become our passion. If you love the UFC, MMA Nerddom, parodies, and water cooler pundants, this is your place. Welcome my friends!
The real question is, WILL JON JONES FIGHT ASPINALL and what would a Jon Bones Jones Care Bear be named? Here's another question we've all been asking; are the 4 Non Blondes the greatest one-hit wonders of all time... Plus, who'll be the UFC champ at the end of the year, why are we still talking about Jake Paul, will Marc and Wes ever sound coherent on any episode, and does Trevor finally win an Overrated Underrated Championship? PS, turn the speakers up because we sing, laugh, and have some highly intelligent banter about MMA and boxing in a very violent, family-friendly way. Viewer discretion is not advised.
I do want to give you a heads-up for this episode. I do want to make mention that TREVOR IS WRONG ABOUT THE BEATLES. What is he thinking?!?!? He might need to stick with fight-fan opinions because the one he has on the Beatles is WRONG... Ok, I digress, WILL FRANCIS DO IT? Can he pull off what might be the greatest upset in boxing history? He almost did last time against Fury. Will lightening strike again? We'll see. Here's a question for you, who had the better career, GSP or Daniel Cormier? OH and I almost forgot, Sitcom Dad is BACK to help Trevor and Wes work out their disagreements. The boys will do what they do best; they'll pontificate on all things MMA, Pop Culture, with some random references to the 80s, and some songs in between. Sit back, relax and let your opinions be stirred, for episode 59 is upon us.
Well, Triple C did it, he... wait, what did you say? Speak up, I can't hear you. Huh, Aljamin Sterling won? No, no, no, surely this is a mistake, right? Henry is supposed to beat Aljo, take out O'Malley, and then go make history by beating Volk. So you're saying that's not going to happen now? He lost? NO! Next thing you know, you're probably going to tell me Trevor won't be on this episode... thank God he's going to be h... Hold on, I can't make out what you're saying; Trevors not here? NOOOOOOOOOOO! "How can I live without you? I want to know, how can I breathe without you?" OK! Aljo has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest champions, if not the greatest Bantemweight champion, in UFC history. In the mean time, where in the world is Francis Ngannou ? Has he signed with anyone yet? Let's get him in the squared circle and get these burning questions answered, is Francis a genius or losing ground? And oh man, Jake Paul vs. Nathan Diaz is heating up and we will gladly go on this ride till it crashes. Let's go NATE! Lastly, who do you think would win in a fight, The Wiggles vs. Barnie The Dinosaur? The Wiggles right? PS. We miss you Trevor. It just aint the same without you. Love Marc and Wes
The boys are back in town to talk all things UFC with a little FLAIR in it... get it, Flair? Ok OK, bad joke aka DAD joke. In this Max Holloway appreciation episode the big question is where does Max Holloway go after his loss to Volk, is Tom Aspinall going to rise to the occasion against Blaydes, should Cruz be Frankie's retirement fight, and will Justin Gaejthe's nose job get him a fight? Does Pena have Nunes's number? And! The biggest question of them all, will Trevor finally stop being condescending to Marc and Wes making the podcast boring? Because hey, we all need a little condescending Trev in our life. LETS GO BOYS!
Give me a Gilbert Burns, Give Me a Kamaru Usman, Give me a Derrick Lewis and there is no doubt I'll say YES! Now Give Us a Adesanya vs Blachowicz and sprinkle in some Rozentruik for good measure and you might have another reason to love this sport all over again. NOW! fear not my beloved patrons, you are not alone, because love is the reason we are all here, you chaotic creotins. So knuckle up and buckle up because you call the shots on this merry go round. March 6th (or UFC 259) is coming and make no mistake we are ready! Nunes, Yan, Adesanya…. History in the making!!! Let's fire up the intrique and get serious about the conversation that you have come to know and love.
So the Bellator Light Heavyweight grand prix is S.T.A. stacked yo! Machida vs Bader on april 9th and the much anticipated Anthony “Rumble” Johnson vs Yoel Romero is scheduled for april 16th. Who is what and what is who is the question but there is no mistaking that this might be the most interesting thing to come out of bellator since Michael Chandler vs. Eddie Alverez. Michael Chandler? Who's That Guy? UFC 258 is HERE!!!!
Where is wes? Jake Paul somehow roped Ben Askren into a boxing match that, has zero value BUT has somehow become news worthey. Why should you care? Well you shouldn't so…. So I'll move on. UfC 257 did not disappoint and we have much to discuss. So in an abbreviated version of the show we are going to run through some highlights and future projections with a new and internationally celebrated segment of the show called DJ TREVOR Owens “quick take”.
Why do we do this show? Well, if you're like us, you know the pain of 2020. It brought, for some of us, more than we can handle. We get that. What's the point? The point is we know here at 3 Guys Fighting it's painful out there and MMA is a way for you to be free for a moment. For 45 minutes every week, we hope and pray you get to escape from it all by listening to us goof off like kids talking about the greatest sport on the planet. We write everything with you in mind. The intros, the commercial spoofs, the parodies, and of course the MMA talk is all designed for you, the listener. We hope this you to get away from everything around you that's falling apart, and in some small way, enables you to simply be a fan without any distractions. We here at the 3 Guys Fighting Nation love you and hope you crush 2021... Much like Dustin Poirier did to all of the Conor fans out there this past weekend. From Marc, DJ Trev, and Wes... cheers to you my friends, cheers to you.
Can Dustin Poirier beat Conor McGregor? Not a lot of people he can, BUT MARC DOES! Michael Chandler, a former Bellator champ, makes his debut against one of the grittiest fighters in the UFC, Dan Hooker. Was he hype, or is he a top 5 fighter in the world? Will Jon Jones get his one-loss overturned? That remains to be seen. And if Khabib does come back, who should he face, Conor or GSP? Lastly, DJ Trevor and Marc team up once again to see if they can guess Wes's favorite Taylor Swift song along with his favorite MMA fighter. All that and more, and you're so very welcome!
Well we walked into another year, or possibly stumbled into another year… either way the calendar does not stop. But for all you fight fans, critics, and armchair pundits.. please do not forget the blessings 2020 gave us!! We have had some of the greatest fights in MMA history, amazing controversy, and so many twists and turns you would almost think that Jon Jones personal life sounds somewhat normal. But DUI's, failed drug tests and hit and run accidents aside, please allow me and the boys to welcome you to THE BIG SHOW!!! Now it is a new year and god bless us all, there are new opportunities to appreciate… Dare I say POSSIBILITIES…. We've got Israel Adesanya stepping up to heavyweight looking to break records, Connor Mcgregor is back to prove he has the juice to Put Dustin Porier in his place once again, and uh oh Belator is sneaking up from the outside and touting a Light heavyweight division worth talking about.
So what is the mystery that 2021 holds? Will the UFC continue to dominate the landscape of Mixed Martial Arts? Will the model of combat sports still continue to follow the antiquated rules designed in the 90's? Will boxing still enjoy the status it has exploited for the last century? Will Jon Hess still be once again overlooked as the greatest Heavy of all Time? On this weeks show we answer all that and more! We talk about the past, present, and future of mixed martial arts as we step into a new era of the sport that sees female fighters capture the hearts and minds of fans, free agency finally having a viable impact on current and future promotions, and a world were MMA has actually dominated the conversation in main stream sports media for almost a year. So get ready to kick back and listen to the boys argue about the greatest sport known to man on the the most violent family friendly podcast on the internet… Enjoy the show!
While this show's gift is probably the greatest gift you will receive this year, we should still show some appreciation for the gifts we got this weekend from WonderBoy Thompson, Jose Aldo, and Rob Font. AND while we have limited action over the next few weeks, you got a one of a kind signature series, mint condition Marlon Moraes TKO, gift wrapped with extra ribbons in the first round to bring up your holiday spirit and give you sweet dreams until you get to see Max Hollaway dance on the big stage once again on January 16th. So buckle up, sing some Christmas carols, and have as much fun as we do every week!
So Scott Coker has been a big player in the game of MMA. But is he gambling with signing older fighters, AGAIN? It's true Yoel and Rumble could be a much-needed shot in the arm Bellator needs; however, one hasn't been in the game for a few years, and the other is old enough to be a grandpa. Kevin Holland had his moment this past Saturday, looking like a killer. But did he beat an old Jacaré that should retire, or is he just that good? Figgy proved why he's the best by digging deep in the 5th round while simultaneously making Moreno a household name. FINALLY, the flyweights are getting their shine. Wes hasn't seen Christmas Vacation or A Christmas Story, and both Marc and Trevor shame him for it causing him to walk off the set. Hopefully, the show can carry on.
Vettori Vettori Vettori!!!! Talk of the town and talk of the weekend, is he next up for a title, or did he do what it takes to finally break into the top 10? Is Bellator picking up the UFC scraps, or are they getting opportunities that the UFC is missing? Bid news and big opportunities are everywhere in MMA this week. UFC 256 gives us Fergy vs. Oliveira, Kevin Holland, a bright a bushy-tailed Brandon Moreno, and fan-favorite Junior Dos Santos is back to make some waves. The good news is that Wes, Trevor, and Marc are still here to argue about it all. So buckle up, put on your helmet, and get ready, 'cause it's about to get interesting…
We've had many fights in combat sports history, but no one has ever inspired DJ Trevor Owens more than Youtube sensation turned boxer Jake Paul. And for that, we say thank you. Mike Tyson fought to a draw this past weekend against Roy Jones Jr., but was it a draw? Anthony Smith got back in the win column; however, was it enough for us to say, "he's back?" Marvin Vettori steps in on a week's notice to face Jack Hermanson, and we think it's possible Vetorri can win, and you? Lastly, Wes and DJ Trevor almost go to blows. Hopefully, their friendship can survive this—all that and more on episode 47 of the My MMA Podcast.
Valentina has dominated the flyweight division and proved again this past Saturday why she's the best in her division, BUT is she just a journeyman inside a very weak division? Figgy Figgy Figgy made it look easy against a game Perez and is now set to face Brandon Moreno, and YES, finally some heat behind a men's flyweight title fight. And ummm, Blaydes is just going to shoot on Derrick the whole night, right? OHH, and the highly anticapted semis and finals to the NMF tournament comes to an end. You might be surprised on who emerges as the Nicest MMA Fighter aka NMF champion is. Happy Thanksgiving, Nation; we love you all.
Coach Todd helps us understand the fights coming up and gives us his strategy to coach Paul Felder to a win on five days' notice. Nerd out on footwork and the little nuances of MMA and what happens inside a fight. There's more strategy than what you see with the naked eye. Coach Todd helps us understand the sport we love most better.
Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier are finally going to fight, but what's the path for Conor? Will he fight for another title, or will his star lose its shine? We know Paul Felder took a fight with RDA on five days' notice, but uhhh, so did RDA. Some were calling this fight a little uneventful, so we discuss why that's stupid. Valentina has a new opponent this weekend but is Maia being led to the slaughterhouse? What's the better Thanksgiving side dish, generic sweet potato pie or Aunt Linda's Famous Homemade Macaroni? OHHHH, and Demetrious Mighty Mouse Johnson is slated to face Stephen Wonderboy Thompson in the NMF tournament. Who wins? Lastly, Trevor just got back from the bathroom, so all is well in our world now. Enjoy My MMA Podcast Nation cause it's a ride.
Red Rover Red Rover Send Glover Right Over For That Next Title shot; Dustin has signed but will Conor, or is he holding out only for PR reasons? Kayla Harrison, a 2x Olympic Judo champion, has been making her name known in MMA over the last several years; she signed with Invicta. Does this mean she's eventually going to move over to the UFC even though there's not a Lightweight division? And for the first time in MMA history, there is a new NMF Tournament exclusively on the My MMA Podcast. Who wins the first round of being the nicest fighter in MMA History, Rich Franklin?
On todays show we wax elegantly on the wonders of all things MMA and the UFC. We talk about Anderson's latest fight against Uriah Hall and whether or not Uriah is ready for bigger fights, we hit on why Roy Jones Jr. is going to knock out Mike Tyson, and our special guest Caleb Spurlin who also happens to play D1 football at Appalachian State University schools Wes on why has a better understanding of Rocky 4 and all things MMA. Marc and DJ Trevor have their smartest episode to date, proving to the world on why the My MMA Podcast is the greatest most violent family friendly podcast on the internet.
The boys are back again this week in true Halloween spirit fighting like 7 year olds over the best piece of candy on Uncle Dana's front porch. Well Justin Geatje proved everyone in the world right (except of course Wes Edwards) by getting handled by Khabib Nurmagomadov in a second round submission loss. Michael Chandler, Connor vs Dustin, Frank Shamrock and Nick Diaz make an appearance in this weeks wide array of arguments, and for some reason Marc still thinks Chris Weidman is still deserves a title shot at 185. So get ready ladies and gents for some chaos, and of course we hope you enjoy the show!!!!
Questions surrounding the legitimacy of Teofimo Lopeze's win against Lomachenko in possibly the biggest combat sporting event of the year have had fans worldwide going so far as to question the validity of the sport of boxing moving forward. We saw The Korean Zombie taking a hard loss in a 5 round decision fight against Brian Ortega begging the question, Was this just a good matchup or did Brian Ortega make a statement that he is the next “guy in line”? Also boys and girls we are here on the precipice of one of the most anticipated fights or the year. UFC 254 is upon us which means… IT IS FIGHT WEEK!! Feel free to be excited. The highly anticipated and greatly debated matchup between Justin Gaethje and Khabib Nurmagaomadov will be headlining the event with supporting acts including Robert Whittaker vs Jared Cannonier… a very interesting matchup, Alexander Volkov and Walt Harris in the heavyweight division, and of course fan favorite and hero here on the show, Mr Smilin Sam Alvey will be looking to close the doors on a recent set of losses by shutting out Da-Un Jung who is without a doubt a formitable opponent. Welcome to Episode 41, we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!!!
There are several interesting conversations to be had concerning some battles to take place at the still confusing and always intriguing fight island here in the near future. Maybe an amazing knockout and maybe a little more. It's dealers choice here on the show and let me be the first to say, welcome to the party. So buckle up as the boys talk about Conor McGregor, Loma vs Lopez, the future of boxing, and much more. It's smiles, hugs, and violence here again so get ready for a good time.
Holly Holm, shall we say, vintage Holly was fighting this past Saturday night, and it was an M.M.A. clinic. We dive into her being a champion in boxing, kickboxing, and M.M.A. with multiple world titles in all three sports. Is she the combat sports G.O.A.T.? Israel Adesanya is trolling Jon Jones at new levels, levels that Jon hasn't ever seen. Has Jon met his match... on Twitter? Blah Blah Blah Conor McGregor vs. Manny Pacquaio Blah Blah Blah. Finally, the boys bring in expert podcaster extraordinaire Graham Ortham of The We Watch Sports Podcast. He's here to help us understand the fight game and ourselves a little better. Oh, and Trevor continues to yell at people.
Israel had one of his best performances of his storied career, but was it enough to bump Anderson Silva from the middleweight GOAT status, and a new era begins at light heavyweight with Jan Błachowicz. How far can he ride this train? We wish Diego well but it's time to hang it up, and will Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier rematch outside of the UFC? Marc is finally honest about his disdain for Wes. Although hurtful, Wes and Marc can now grow from what seems to be a long journey of healing ahead of them. Trevor knows more than Marc and Wes and is clearly what keeps this podcast floating. So BYE BYE BYE!
It's been almost ten years since Jon Jones first won the LHW title, and since then, it's either been him or Daniel Cormier holding the belt. A new era will begin Saturday night as a NEW LHW Champ emerges. As for the main event, this isn't about a title. It's 100% about legacy. Israel Adesanya has called out everyone in his division, the boys discuss who should win. It is a big UFC weekend, with a lot riding on the line. Do you know what else has a lot on the line? DJ Trevor Owens, we'll see if he knows Marc as well as we all think he does in our new segment, "How Well Do You Know Your Co-Host." And unfortunately, he does yell at Wes again, making Wes feel small and ashamed. Hopefully, we'll get through it all. All that and more on this week's episode of My MMA Podcast.
Ep. 36
Alistar Overeem seems to be getting better at age 40. Will he get a title shot from it? Angela Hill makes history this weekend by being the first black woman to headline a UFC, kudos to her for earning that spot and making all of us care, well done! Nate and Jorge are all but signed while Nate's older brother Nick is preparing for a comeback; who should he fight? How much time should we be watching MMA on any given week, day, hour? Who wins in a fantasy fight, Nick or Nate? Michael Jackson goes up against Prince while Daniel Larusso is facing. A.C. Slater. Strap in My MMA Podcast Nation because this one's a ride.
At 32, does Anthony Smith need to call it a day? We'll see. Neil Magney, the Haitian Sensation, makes Wes proud even though we all love Robbie Lawler, but can Robbie still compete at a championship level? And of course, Brock Lesnar is unfortunately still aggravating Trevor, or wait; maybe it was Jon Jones still getting Trevor all miffed up. Our thoughts are with him. Daniel Cormier is a beloved fighter, and we'll miss him as he rides off into the retirement sunset. Well done, Daniel Well done. Lastly, Trevor and Marc have rigged Overrated and Underrated against Wes again. And all we can say is MERCY IS FOR THE WEAK, COBRA KAI FOREVER!
So we had a little fun this last weekend at the Apex Center in Las Vegas. Your boy Frankie Edgar popped an LL Cool J and Said ‘DON'T CALL IT A COMBACK” WITH A SPLIT decision win over Pedro Munhoz. And what else? Well holy goodnight Shana Dobson stepped into the second round and decided to drop and Jon Hess Safta Bomb on Mariya Agapove like a B O S S, boss. It was probably inspired by Dwight Grant getting knocked back into 1982 by Daniel Rodriquez…. and for that Daniel you get on great big fat Michael Jackson Shamon!!!!
Why is it essential that Stipe won this trilogy with Daniel Cormier, was Sean O'Malley a hype train that got derailed or was this merely a loss due to injury, should Junior Dos Santos hang it up, which is the most epic 80's dance song and why it matters to MMA, Could Bas Rutten be a better street fighter than Wanderlei Silva, Trevor is still trying to fix fights with Marc to make Wes look bad. Once again, the boys talk elegantly about the most celebrated sport known to man, Mustache shaving.
Wow, Chris Weidman and Derrick Lewis win, coming up Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Miocic, Sean O'Malley vs. Marlon Vera, Trevor's ACDC impression, a new Hip Hop collection, and a full episode dedicated to Derrick Lewis's post-fight interviews. It's one for the ages. My MMA Podcast Nation, well done, we salute you for going on this journey with us.
Brunson shuts down the Ronda Rousey hype train, Derrick Lewis tangles with a boa constrictor, Bobby Green makes us believe in the human spirit again. Marc and Trevor argue who's better GGG or Sugar Ray Leonard. and who knew that our 30th year anniversary episode would make way for some of our most significant bits.
The boys get real on Darren Till, Shogun Rua, Strike Force, and Herb Dean. Marc Finally proves Trevor wrong but just once, we love Wesley but he still cheats, and let's see if you are faster than the buzzer on this weeks Overrated/Underrated! Buckle up and get ready for the ride because it's a fun one. Major Discussion: https://www.ufc.com/event/ufc-fight-night-july-25-2020 https://www.cbssports.com/boxing/news/mike-tyson-vs-roy-jones-jr-fight-card-rules-ppv-price-date-and-things-to-know-for-the-exhibition-match/
Ladies and Gentlemen, there is a new sheriff in town, the Flyweight division has a new king, who does Deiveson Figueiredo fight next? Where does Joseph Benavidez go from here? There's also a new contender in Jack Hermansson with his win over Kelvin Gastelum. This weekend we've got another fantastic card with Till vs. Whittaker as the headliner. Marc and Trevor have their highly anticipated rematch, and Peter Cetera has inspired the new era of trash talking. Who knew. Marc pronounced names wrong again, and neither Wes, Marc, or Trevor get mad at each other this time. Cheers
The boys get together again to hash out the winners and losers from UFC 251. What's next for Kamaru Usman, when is Nate coming back, and how does Jorge Masvidal just keep getting more popular? Paige VanZant makes and appearance on the show for less than a minute, just like her appearance at UFC 251. The grudge match continues this week as Marc takes on Wes one again in a grudge match for the ages. Finally grab your lighters and throw'em up in the air because Monster Ballads makes its way to the podcast.
A quick break down of UFC 251 and what is next.
Ep. 26 Is "The Way You Make Me Feel" By Michael Jackson, the most magnificent walkout song ever? Fight Island is upon us, will it live up the MJ's Super Bowl Performance? Jorge seems to be doing everything right, but will it be enough on fight night? By the way, who knew Dana White had a cussing problem, anyways. Nate Diaz vs. Gilbert Burns is starting to pick up some steam, to which we say carry on gentlemen, carry on. And this might be the first podcast where no one gets yelled at. Holloway's, Volkanovski, Yan, Aldo, Namajunas and more! Hold on to your britches folks, it about to be on!!
Oh Boy, episode 25 might be the greatest episode we've done in 25 years. Look, Dana White knows we aren't going to keep doing this for pennies unless he starts paying us what we're worth. But uh, for now, we'll chat about the most skillful brawl we've ever seen in Hooker vs. Poirier, Paige Van Zant's free agency, and Jorge Masvidal making zero dollars while choosing not to fight while complaining about not making enough, hmmm. Did we mention he's making zero? Marc and Trevor throw down in a new MMA game show centered around the number 25, as Trevor seems to be getting more heated as each episode progresses. Wes is a little snooty, and Marc seems to laugh at everything. We're feeling 25 ladies and gentlemen, so hold on to your Jon Hess hats cause we're about to break people.
Who was Mirko Cro Cop really, and is Robby Lawler TV famous? Marc makes his best Jon Hess impression by using his intellect to talk about Dustin Poirier vs. Dan Hooker. DJ Trev shows why he's smarter than all of us by simply being on the podcast. Should Max Rohskopf fire his coaches, or was he just a hyped fighter that shouldn't be in the UFC yet. And lastly, what song is Marc singing at the end of the podcast, weird.
In a world where Steven Seagal's ponytail matters, we present to you Ep. 23. We will do this episode WITH OR WITHOUT YOU, regardless of every breath, you are taking. Cutting weight is, in fact, an issue as we saw with Jessica Eye. Fight Island, is really happening? But is it an island? Daniel Cormier schools Jorge Masvidal on the ethics of business. He also could win his last fight if he eye pokes Stipe, Max Holloway has one more shot at Alex, and should Jose be fighting for the title. Marc yells at the New York State athletic commission judges. Sad really. All that and more on Ep. 23.
The boys are back and the drama is real. One Championship is bleeding, Dana White is indignant while Jones, Cejudo, and “The Sugar Show” are demanding more cash. Marc and Wes battle for the championship in epic fashion. Dionne Warwick, Courtney Love, and the guys from 4Him make an appearance Just in time for fight island!! So knuckle up and buckle up ladies and gents cause it's about to get crazy in here.
Ep. 21 The boys wax eloquently on Jon Jones's pay raise, huh? Megadeth and Taylor Swift finally team up, UFC 250 is deceptively stacked, and should Gilbert Burns skip the line and fight for the title? Wes gets schooled by Trevor, but the judging was once again suspect, and Trevor, for the first time, yells at Marc, causing him to cry. All this and more on Ep. 21.
For this entire podcast, all 3 boys had to make their best Eddie Bravo impression to make it through. It was hard to see without their glasses. Tyron Woodley vs. Gilbert Burns; Will it be either a coming-out party for Gilbert/last fight for Tyron in the UFC OR will it put the former champ back into title contention? Eddie Bravo makes several appearances throughout the podcast. Unfortunately, we couldn't see him due to our glasses getting stolen from the car last week. Wes and Trevor get into a fight, and Marc seems to think Nate Diaz is the G.O.A.T. All that and more on this beautiful collaboration of all things M.M.A.
The boys try to figure out what is going on with these corner men lately? Let's talk about some of the biggest grudge matches in MMA history! Who is the one fighter Chael Sonnen really hated? Why does everyone forget about Frank Shamrock and why isn't he celebrated as one of the pioneers of the sport? Sitcom dad makes an appearance again to settle a relationship altering fight between Trevor and Wes, and Wes finds some early audio from Time Life Classics to help us find Anthony Smith's teeth. I hope you have some fun, we did!!
The boys argue about UFC 249, Marc tries to lift Trevor up in the air with shocking success, we introduce a new segment "Agree or Disagree, and to everyone's surprise Wes doesn't get mad this time, Trevor gets angry at Marc for ruining the podcast stating he "smelled like cigarettes and alcohol," and SitCom Dad makes his first appearance on the show.
The boys get real on the show about Justin Gaethje and his validity as a top tier fighter. We talk Holly Holm, Pedro Rizzo, Shane Carwin, Frank Shamrock and more... We get deep on the nuances of the Beastie Boys, Jay-Z, and for once Wes doesn't try to argue with everyone. UFC 249 is on and lets talk about the picks, the challenges, and what the future holds!!! We hope you enjoy the parodies, banter and nonsense because we did!!
The boys spend some talking about bad behavior outside of the cage and if Dana is doing enough. Greasegate, Jon Fitch, Dennis Hallman trolls Dana hard... Oh the memories! UFC 249 fight card, who you should being paying attention to and is “Fight Island” just PR talk or is Dana White really crazy enough to pull it off?!!
In this episode the boys discuss what wresting really is in relation to MMA and why we should care. Also, how big of an impact did Chael Sonnen have? Was he really “that good” or was he just a product of his own hype? What the heck is on Khabib's head and why does Marc want to wear it to the mall? Ben Askren, Nate Diaz, Cris Cyborg, and Jason Miller are forced to make the cut in another round of Overrated/Underrated and Wes takes out his aggression on Trevor. Does Marc Have COVID-19 or is it just a little Beiber Fever? Ask Wes, Justin Bieber is his hero.
Who would win in the greatest boxing match of all time, Muhammed Ali or Joe Louis, OR Iron Mike Tyson? Wrestling vs. Jujitsu and Anthony Smith's house was broken into while the May 9th UFC card, if it happens, is ridiculously stacked, all on this episode 14.
UFC 249 has been canceled, and most of you are really struggling with this. We've got the solution. Also, Randy Couture vs. Fedor Emelianenko made it to the finals in our Greatest MMA Heavyweight tournament, who should've won? And the boys wax eloquently on why they love the sport of MMA so much. All this and more on this week's epidote 13.
