I contacted Amelia to be on the podcast after I read a post of hers that stated, 'weed makes me a better mom'. I knew I needed to get her in to unpack this and explore something that struck a deep chord in me without knowing why. What followed was one of my all-time fave interviews as Amelia shared so deeply about her life, on the precipice of packing up her family and moving from California to Portugal. If you are interested in understanding how Psilocybin, weed and so much more might support your best life then lean in! Biography Amelia Travis is a women's coach, writer, speaker, breathwork facilitator and yoga teacher who has impacted thousands of lives through yoga education programs and women's empowerment retreats. Have you heard of S.M.A.R.T. goals? Traditionally, this is the approach to goal-setting we've been taught. S.M.A.R.T. goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time bound. But what if there were another way to approach goal setting? One that didn't delay feelings of success for the very end, but one that celebrated who you were becoming in the pursuit of your goals, each and every day?Well that is exactly what my personal business coach Amelia Travis teaches us today when she shares her approach to D.E.E.P. goal setting, which involves goals that are:Desire-basedEmotionally-informedEnergy-alignedPleasureableSo if you're ready to shift from outcome-based goals to ones that are identity-based, then pop in your earbuds and press play. In early 2022, I hired my business coach, Amelia Travis, because I committed myself to turn this sweet podcast and my business, The Live By Design Company, into more than a passion project. When I decided to go all in on my business, I knew this decision could change the trajectory of my life and the life of my family (which is equal parts exhilarating and scary!). And I knew that I would need help on the business side in order to grow - so I can have someone to guide me, and focus me, and give me resources so I can continue learning and growing. On the day I signed the paperwork to work with Amelia I made this fun reel! It's an audio track where it sounds like I'm hyperventilating, but then it turns into this happy dance where I'm celebrating this huge, cool milestone! I'm excited and have those nervous butterflies as I commit to this next step. And on that reel I tagged Amelia and she left me the most beautiful comment. She said she has an affirmation that she tells herself when she feels the way that I did. “I am always an investment, never a gamble. I trust myself to make wise, grounded, clear, expansive decisions for myself and my future.”I think this is so beautiful, and I knew as soon as I read it that I had to do a meditation on it because don't we all need to be reminded that we're investments and we're never a gamble? So friend, if you are ready to get quiet and tap into your inner knowing and intuition, then I invite you to press play as we meditate on going all in and trusting our inner voice.ResourcesFull Show NotesSubscribe to Kate's Weekly Love Letter Join The LBD Collective Continue the Conversation on Instagram @mskatehouse Health Coaching with Kate Schedule Your Discovery CallConnect with Amelia Travis - Spiritual Business CoachInstagramWebsiteConnect with Liz Chapman - Podcast ManagerWebsiteInstagram

Rise to Thrive Podcast with Linda Tate & Amelia Travis Episode 1: Starting Before You’re Ready “Start before you’re ready. Don’t prepare, begin. Remember, our enemy is not lack of preparation… the enemy is resistance, our chattering brain, which if we give it even a nanosecond… will give us a million reasons why we can’t or won’t do what we need to do.” ~ Steven Pressfield, Do The Work. Are you putting off dreams because you don’t feel “ready?” You think another certification, training, online course, practice relationship, or test run will get you prepared to blast off into the success you seek in life or business? About Amelia Travis: Stoked Yogi founder Amelia Travis is a Yoga Alliance registered E-RYT 500 and American Red Cross certified lifeguard with over a thousand hours of training in yoga and SUP education. Trained in classical Indian yoga in the Sivananda and Ashtanga traditions, she has a strong foundation in both anatomy and philosophy, and skillfully weaves knowledge of both into her classes, retreats, and teacher trainings. She serves as the Yoga Director for Glide SUP, where she leads the national SUP Yoga ambassador program. Amelia has trained over four hundred yoga instructors how to adapt the practice of yoga safely to the stand up paddle board and is proud to have developed the first nationwide teaching team for SUP Yoga. Aside from teaching, Amelia loves to write and has been featured in Yoga Journal, Huffington Post, and the Inertia. She is also the author of Aqua Asana: A Comprehensive Guide to SUP Yoga. She has a teaching style of clear and concise anatomy based cueing, interwoven with the wisdom of Vedic philosophy and a spirit of devotion. Her classes cultivate a spirit of gratitude for the natural environment and respect for each yogi’s unique journey into self-inquiry. The “Stoked Yogi” mindset is about living gratefully, passionately, and with a zest for each moment. After breaking her back in a surfing accident in 2012, Amelia realized that life is too short to do anything but what you love. She lives each day now by the Stoked Yogi mantra: Set your intention, then breathe it to life. http://www.stokedyogi.com https://twitter.com/stokedyogi https://www.facebook.com/stokedyogi https://www.instagram.com/stoked_yogi/ Mentioned on the podcast: A course in Miracles: http://amzn.to/2ivILJp -------- Visit us at www.happyhourpodcast.org or Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HHpodcasts/ IG: @hhpodcast Please SUBSCRIBE, RATE US and SHARE US.
