Alina Z is an award-winning, Board-Certified Health Coach, Chopra Life Coach, Detox Specialist, and former chef named creator of the #1 Best Diet in America by Harper's Bazaar. She also holds a degree from Parsons School of Design and a Master's in Communication, blending style, soul, and science into one transformational experience. Through her signature Wholistic Self-Discovery Coaching Program, Alina helps high-achieving women reconnect with their true purpose by transforming how they eat, dress, and live. Her philosophy? When you eat to nourish your soul and dress to express your truth, you shift your inner state — and from that space, everything changes. Peace returns. Confidence rises. Sparkle comes back. Alina's mission is to help women become the version of themselves they dreamed of at 8 years old — radiant, powerful, and fully aligned. While today Alina is happy with her body, a fulfilling career, and a life full of sparkle, it wasn't always like this. At 15 she left her home country and a $100,000,000 company that her parents wanted her to inherit and came to USA alone to create a life she desired to build on her own terms. She attended a Quaker school in Maryland and then graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York. Working in the marketing industry, at the age of 27 she grew into a position of a VP of Marketing for one of Washington DC's largest catering companies. During her tenure there her entire days were wrapped around talking about, writing about and tasting food! From early morning networking breakfasts to late-night cocktail receptions and galas, Alina barely had time to eat healthy. This busy lifestyle lead to an unwanted extra 20 pounds, which she struggled to lose with traditional diets and an endless supply of dieting books. She also felt that there was more to life than working long hours and making money. She felt she was lacking a purpose. As fate would have it, in 2009, Alina went on a inspirational cruise to Alaska, where she personally met and learned from world-renowned teachers like Dr. Wayne Dyer and Louise Hay. It was during Dr. Dyer's speech that Alina realized she wanted to be of service to the community. She thought that if she could find solutions to her own challenges, maybe she could help others with the same struggles. Inspired by the cruise, in 2010 she enrolled to study nutrition at the world's largest nutrition school -- Institute For Integrative Nutrition, in New York City. The experience was truly life-changing -  she found a unique way to health and fell in love with the field of nutrition. The one thing she saw missing most in the health market was FUN! Alina noticed two crucial things: first, food is typically labeled as either healthy or delicious and second, there is a total lack of connection being made between nutrition and the key to a happy life. With a passion for making the connection, Alina's mission as nutrition and life coach is to help you pursue your life passions and discover that food can be healthy, delicious, on budget, quick and easy! Quiz on my website at AlinaZ.com to find out your body type: https://www.alinaz.com/quiz #EatWithPurpose#SoulfulLiving#DetoxYourLife#ChopraLifeCoach#IntegrativeNutrition https://calendly.com/rebeccaelizabethwhitman/breakthrough https://wellnessmarketingltd.com/magnetic-abundance-manifest-your-dream-life-retreat/ https://www.amare.com/et/kd4k0a/2088608 https://mall.riman.com/rebeccawhitman/home http://pillar.io/rebeccaewhitman To learn more about Rebecca…https://www.rebeccaelizabethwhitman.com/#home

I love reading because it provides the opportunity for learning and growth, all from the comfort of your couch! And not too long ago I re-read the book Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. And gosh, I just love this book. The whole thing is underlined and annotated, and I've highlighted almost everything because there is so much goodness in this book. There's one excerpt that really spoke to me, because it's kind of the ethos for the Live By Design Collective and podcast too. My hope is for you to know that the world needs you and your gifts and your unique abilities. So, if you are ready to trust your goodness, know your enoughness, and make room for joy and ease, then let's slow down and meditate together.ResourcesFull Show NotesLove Letter Sign-UpJoin The LBD Collective Health Coaching with Kate @mskatehouse Big Magic - Elizabeth GilbertConnect with Liz Chapman - Podcast ManagerWebsiteInstagram

“Your mindset is a set of beliefs that shape how you make sense of the world and yourself. It influences how you think, feel, and behave in any given situation.” verywellmind.comIf you have spent any amount of time online then you have probably heard about mindset. Sometimes mindset can feel a little intangible which is why I took a deep dive this month in the LBD Collective into learning what exactly mindset means and why it does actually matter.I like to equate the idea of mindset to going to the doctor's office for an eye exam. Your doctor puts different lenses in front of your eyes, and you have to say which prescription is best. Each set of lenses may be marginally different, but you have to figure out which one is the best fit. And I feel as if mindset is similar to those lenses. Your mindset is the lens through which you view the world, and you have the ability to shift them until you find the one that best benefits you.In today's conversation, we'll talk about the six most studied mindsets paying particular attention to the growth vs fixed mindset, and how these mindsets exist on a continuum. Then we finish with how to move towards a growth mindset, why it matters, and the five different ways to shift your mindset going forward.ResourcesFull Show NotesLove Letter Sign-UpJoin The LBD Collective Health Coaching with Kate @mskatehouse Connect with Liz Chapman - Podcast ManagerWebsiteInstagram

Today on the podcast, we are looking at the big picture and talking all about holistic health, primary foods, and how to use the principle of crowding out to move away from undesirable habits and towards healthier ones.Crowding out is an approach to habit change that focuses on adding in more of the “good stuff” first, instead of using avoidance behavior as a means towards change. As a result of adding in the desirable habits or behavior, the less desirable or unhealthy habits are literally crowded out - there is no longer time or space for them!ResourcesFull Show NotesSubscribe to Kate's Weekly Love Letter Join The LBD Collective Continue the Conversation on Instagram @mskatehouse Health Coaching with Kate Schedule Your Discovery CallVoices of ChildrenWhy “Crowding Out” is the Healthiest Way to DietWhat is Holistic HealthPrimary FoodWhat is Holistic Health Care, Anyway?Institute for Integrative Nutrition circle of life exerciseConnect with Liz Chapman - Podcast ManagerWebsiteInstagram

The “mist” is scary thoughts that we all have. It was a powerful experience to go through with both of my children and we revisit it often because we all need reminders that the mist is not real and that we can create calm by connecting to our breath and bodies.Full Show Notes, Journal Prompts & Transcript:https://www.carlacontreras.com/podcast/moving-through-stress-anxiety-and-fear-with-marcella-leePlease tag me @itscarlacontreras on Instagram so I can continue the conversation with you. This podcast episode is about my routine of saying part of the Loving-Kindness Meditation as an affirmation while driving my kids to school in the morning to create calm & ease. I have been saying this affirmation with them for the last three years.I learned it via Kait Hurley on the Kait Hurley App which includes movement and mediation. Kait learned this ancient practice of Loving-Kindness from her teacher Kimberly Carson, they have an 8-week meditation course in Kait's app.The morning ritual of saying part of the Loving Kindness Meditation as an affirmation with my kids has gained an extra special meaning throughout the pandemic and times when the world is hurting. And when we are having our own challenges as humans and a family. The affirmation is always with us to guide us home to each other. When we say this as the sun peaks into the car, we are 100% present and calm, even if it's just for that moment.Note: You can say also say Loving-Kindness for your community, your country, and the world.Full Show Notes & Journal Prompts: https://www.carlacontreras.com/podcast/the-calming-affirmation-to-use-during-stressful-timesPlease tag me @itscarlacontreras on Instagram so I can continue the conversation with you. I recently had my first panic attack and I so hope you never have the experience of one…0 out of 10, do not recommend! And while this was a scary and unsettling experience, it's important to me to share it with you to bring to light our continued conversation of mental health, some of my past experiences with anxiety, and what's been helping recently. I share this personal experience in the hopes that you know you are not alone, and I see you.In the past when my oldest was born in 2017 I started having intrusive thoughts. Something like, “What if the house caught on fire, what would we do and how would we get out?” And I found that repeating the affirmation, “My baby is happy, healthy and safe,” ten times in a row helped me move past these thoughts. It gave me some distance from the intrusive thought, allowed me to acknowledge it, and then move forward and past it.Now fast forward to 2022 I've had my first panic attack. Thanks a lot Omicron! And amidst this turmoil my brain latched on to my affirmation that I used with my kids but my brain turned it around to say, “I am happy, healthy, and safe.” At first I said it really fast, however, with each time I said it I was able to say it just a little bit slower. This affirmation during my panic attack became my life preserver. So, I wanted to share my experience with you because I want you to feel seen. I want you to feel less alone. I want you to know that you are so freaking powerful! And you can take an affirmation to heart that speaks to anxiety or fear, and it can be there for you in a time of need. I don't have all the answers, and I'm not a trained mental health professional, but it's on my heart to share this with you in case this episode helps you in some small way.If you have mental health concerns that are impacting your life, especially your ability to go about your day and care for your child or yourself, then I absolutely encourage you too to speak to a medical professional for help. This week's bonus episode features Nick Cruz Velleman of Sight and Insight who is a dear friend, artist, youtuber, teacher, and author. You may remember Nick from earlier this week when he joined me on the podcast and we discussed the role of art and creativity in our daily lives, the power of art to teach nonjudgement and self-acceptance, and finally we dreamed big with Nick as he shared his future hopes and dreams for himself and his business. You can check out that episode here if you missed it.In today's bonus episode Nick shares what advice he would give himself if he could go back and speak to himself from 10 years ago. And his advice focuses on two areas that we can all find a nugget of wisdom in. The first piece of advice is that while willpower is deeply important it will only get you so far, and the second piece of advice is to leave margins in your day...and ultimately in your life! So, put in those earbuds, press play, and listen in while Nick shares with you the insights he's learned from his past decade of life!** Don't forget to leave your 5 Star review and a few sentences about what your favorite take away from the podcast has been, and if your review is picked as a future Apple Podcast Review of the Week, then your next cup of coffee is on me!Resources : Show Notes | Subscribe to Kate's Weekly Love Letter | Goal Setting Masterclass | Follow along on Instagram @livebydesignpodcast | Health Coaching with Kate | Schedule Your Discovery CallHealth Coaching with Kate: And if you are feeling like health coaching might be the right fit for you, I'd love to schedule a free Discovery Call with you to see if we'd work well in a coaching relationship! When you walk through the door to your home, how do you want it to feel when you step inside? Do you want it to be welcoming, comfortable, and cozy like a warm hug? What special pieces do you have in your home that remind you of your loved ones and give you that sense of ease?In today's special Book Report episode we are talking about The Little Book of Hygge (pronounced Hoo-ga) - Danish Secrets to Happy Living by Meik Wiking, CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen. So, what is Hygge exactly? In a nutshell, it is about atmosphere and the experience we create rather than focusing on things. It is humble and slow. It's choosing rustic over new, simple over posh, and ambience over excitement. I've really been taking this idea to heart as I've been creating little spaces in our home that reflect our family history or are nostalgic in some shape or form. One fun way this is reflected in our home is a gallery wall that I have set up around my desk space. Each piece, while aesthetically pleasing, has deeper meaning for our family and I feel that I can come into this space and let my guard down, and I can fully be myself and at ease. So grab your favorite drink, or pop in your ear buds and go for a walk, and listen while we talk about Hygge and how it relates to the space we surround ourselves with and the feelings that we get from being surrounded by warmth, love, nostalgia, and so much more!Resources Show Notes | The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking | Join the Newsletter | Live By Design Goal Setting Masterclass | Follow along on Instagram @livebydesignpodcast | Health Coaching with Kate | Schedule Your Discovery Call | Free Meditation Library Health Coaching with Kate: And if you are feeling like health coaching might be the right fit for you, I'd love to schedule a free Discovery Call with you to see if we'd work well in a coaching relationship! This week we continue our conversation centered on IIN's Circle of Life Exercise and focus on the topic of Education. When I sat down to brainstorm who would be the perfect guest to welcome onto the show for this chat, it dawned on me that my alma mater, Gettysburg College, has a president who - funnily enough - is also a podcast host!Flash to be taking a deep breath, giving myself a little pep talk, and writing a long-winded email to President Iuliano about who I am, what my podcast is all about, and a request for an hour of his time to record a podcast episode together. And he said yes!So let this conversation be a reminder to you, dear friend, that you never know what you can create or bring into being by simply asking and putting yourself "out there." Because if you never put it out there, it's not going to happen. But if you gather your gumption and just try - what might you bring to fruition? And what DID happen was an insightful conversation with Gettysburg College's 15th President, Robert Iuliano, where he shares his four-step approach to living a life of meaning which includes: being open to moments of serendipity, embracing a degree of humility, a willingness to take risks, and finally appreciation for the good in life.So pour yourself a fresh cup of coffee, press play, and let Bob inspire you to live a life that's authentic to you and the unique ways you personally find joy and purpose.Resourcesshow notes | join the newsletter | live by design goal setting masterclass |  @livebydesignpodcast | health coaching with kate | schedule your discovery call | free meditation library Health Coaching with Kate: And if you're feeling like health coaching might be the right fit for you, I'd love to schedule a free Discovery Call with you to see if we'd work well in a coaching relationship! It's funny, but in my experience I've found that running often times is symbolic of life itself.
