The Lachlan Galvin saga has continued this week, leading to this bonus edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast. After a strong debate after the story broke on Monday night, followed by more analysis by Eddie and the boys on Wednesday, we now have this third pod for the week. We take a look at the press conferences held by Benji Marshall, then Wests Tigers' captains, Api Koroisau and Jarome Luai. Joel, Garry, and Nick give their thoughts on what was said and why we're starting to see the potential positives of testing out the coach and players' responses to a situation like this. Most importantly, comparing that response to what we have seen in the past from our club and playing group. Is this going to be the issue that finally helps turn Wests Tigers into a more focused and battle-hardened team? Let's make a statement against the Eels! We then turn our attention to the big Monday afternoon clash with the Parramatta Eels at CommBank Stadium. The Easter Monday fixture looks set to be a memorable encounter with the Wests Tigers no doubt out to tell the world they're bigger and better this year, with or without Galvin. The stats show Wests Tigers should be firm favourites, and the Eels have also lost a few players in recent days, but they do welcome back Mitch Moses for the game. We also look at the reshuffle of the Tiger's team, including the move to the halves for Adam Doueihi, and hopefully the remergence of Luai in Batman mode. The return of experienced centre Brent Naden also draws our attention. Big guests at the Ambush. Don't forget to get along to the free Ambush event before the game at CommBank, with two special guests ensuring it should be a memorable experience. Jeral Skelton will be a guest, as will Latu Fainu, and Garry will get the chance to interview both injured Wests Tigers stars. What we hear from Latu should be of particular interest! We hope you enjoy this bonus edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Wests Tigers announced that Lachlan Galvin would not be with the club beyond 2026. Today, the club dropped Lachlan Galvin from their NRL squad, with the teen set to play in the NSW Cup. The decision to drop Galvin has been led by senior players, Jarome Luai and Api Koroisau. Member of the Continuous Call Team, Jamie Soward, told Jason Matthews on Wide World of Sports, "I think that Benji [Marshall] would have to make a decision based on what their team needs best." "A young man has made a decision so far out to say that he doesn't want to play or doesn't see a future at the club, with these players and with the coach. I had no doubt that it was going to end in tears," Soward continued. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Wests Tigers are sitting pretty in the NRL Top Eight after a second straight victory. Traveling north to Redcliffe, the Wests Tigers proved too strong for the home team, coming away with two vital points in a 30-18 victory. In this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes is joined by Garry Watson and Steve Stretton, and the encouraging signs from the game are covered. Aspects of the Tigers' play that made us happy include the multiple points of attack and the increasing synchronicity of the team. Sure, there were a few things still to work on, we also talked about that as well. We also run through a terrific list of 'One Word' submissions from our valued members of the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum (we'd love you to add to that list each game too!) Great display of teamwork. While the boys played as a unit, the individual performances of a few players are also discussed, including Jahream Bula, Fonua Pole, Terrell May, Alex Twal, Api Koroisau, and Tallyn Da Silva. We asked the question - is Sunia Turuva the best finisher we've had in a decade? And we played a new game - Was Garry Wrong? The topics in question include Garry's call on the abilities of Adam Doueihi and Alex Seyfarth! (Perhaps a version of this could be used re Eddie Otto and Bula??) Also up for discussion was the possible replacement for Jeral Skelton if he is unable to take on the Warriors next Sunday evening at Campbelltown. Speaking of Campbelltown, Steve has details of the pre-game Ambush event being held at The Beer Shed in Leumeah on Sunday afternoon (to which you are invited). And congratulations to the Wests Tigers on passing another big milestone - 9,000 people have now got Wests Tigers memberships and we think that's a great achievement, but still well short of where we should be. It's great to be able to present another post-victory edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, let's make it three on the trot against the Kiwis!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Wests Tigers Podcast mid-week edition is good to go! On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, we examine the unfolding developments regarding the future of Wests Tigers young star Lachlan Galvin. In the wake of Dylan Brown getting a truckload of cash to head up the M1 to the Knights, we look at how this deal might affect our negotiations. We also take a look at the situation from the perspective of the loyal Wests Tigers fans, and how Lachlan can be part of a solution, not continuing a problem. There is also contract news around David Klemmer and his impending exit from the club, and how this impacts the likely arrival of Taylan May. While a left-field recruitment idea is also floated. Then the focus is the Eels. It is only round two of the 2025 NRL season, yet this Sunday's clash against the Eels carries a feeling of great importance. After a clunky and disjointed performance against the Knights, can the Wests Tigers bounce back against an Eels side coming off a heavy loss? Benji Marshall has named a stronger side on paper, with key spine members Jahream Bula and Api Koroisau, along with Starford To'a, being available. But has the coach managed to fix those issues so evident last Friday night? We give our suggestions on how the Tigers can get one up against the Eels, and look at how Bula and Api might help get us back on track. Yioti's trivia also features. Yioti has gone back in the Wests Tigers archives to come up with some interesting Eels v Tigers trivia questions too. And don't forget to leave your 'One Word' submissions after the Eels game on Sunday afternoon on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum. The one word submissions grow every game, but we'd love even more people to take part and share their thoughts on the game. To do so, just head to the game-specific thread and, if you haven't already, sign up for a free account on our forum. Good luck Wests Tigers, let's beat those slimy Eels! Wests Tigers started the 2025 NRL season on a losing note, succumbing to the Knights 10-8. The loss at Campbelltown Stadium in front of a healthy and revved up crowd makes it seven straight losses against the Newcastle side. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast we pull apart that Friday evening game and try to find exactly what went wrong. One of the items up for discussion is the clunkiness of the Jarome Luai and Lachlan Galvin halves partnership. What can be done to fix this? Did the club make a mistake not playing Luai in the trial against the Eels? And why we need to find some more depth in our attack. Also under the microscope is the poor kicking games exhibited by both halves. There's also a look at how the return of Api Koroisau, Starford To'a and Jerome Bula might help fix some of the offensive issues that we all witnessed on Friday. What happened to the defense? The statistics show that Wests Tigers missed a mammoth 52 tackles in the loss to the Knights, we try to investigate what happened and what can also be done here to remedy the issues. While it isn't all worries and concerns, we also highlight a few bright spots out of the game. Thank you to everyone who left their 'One Word' submissions on the game at the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum. We run through all of those with a good mix of both pessimistic and optimistic feelings on where the Wests Tigers stand after another Knights loss. More roster changes? And we take a look at some impending changes to the roster with David Klemmer and Justin Olam potentially off the books as early as this week. While another former Panther might be about to join the Wests Tigers stable! Thanks for your support and we look forward to bringing you the next edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast mid-week.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome to the Jungle, Jarome Luai, our special guest on this week's summer series edition of Behind The Roar. Wests Tigers' marquee signing covers plenty of ground on the club's official podcast, telling us how much he's looking forward to the challenges ahead. Jarome reveals his first taste of the NRL was watching the 2005 Grand Final from a caravan park on the Central Coast, and how from that moment on, he became a Wests Tigers and Benji Marshall fan. ‘Romey' also tells BTR how important Benji was in his decision to join Wests Tigers, as was his good mate, Api Koroisau. All that and more on this special edition of BTR One Jungle. No Limits. Get Behind the Roar.
The boys are back with Eddie, Nick, Declan, and Steve giving one thing they like about the off-season, as well as one Tigers-related rant. We dive into a deep discussion on the history of underperforming senior players against the culture and training standards at the club and who is more to blame. We look at John Bateman's contract situation and whether more shaking of the tree needs to be done at Concord. Eddie asks the boys what is one roster decision that is most important if they were in control over the next couple of months. Eddie also states his case as to why the Wests Tigers need to sign Clint Gutherson as our fullback for the next two seasons. Plus another edition of Buy, Sell, and Hold including whether it's time to drop the burden of captaincy on Api Koroisau, and whether Jack Bird can be our answer next season at lock. It's a jam-packed edition with all that and more in over an hour's worth of debate in episode 364 of the Wests Tigers Podcast.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Joining us this week on our 50th episode of Behind the Roar is former Cowboys hooker, now Wests Magpies NSW Cup Coach, Aaron Payne. Payne joined Wests Tigers in the pre-season, uprooting from Townsville for a sea change in the big smoke, and a fresh challenge. After playing 219 NRL games across 11 seasons with the Cowboys, this fella has plenty of skin in the game, and can tell a yarn or two as well, like how he made a thousand bucks a minute when making his NRL debut. We talk about the challenges and opportunities that come with the job as reserve grade coach, when, more often than not, the team changes from week to week. Payne talks about his own football journey and why the time was right for him to hang up the boots as a 29-year-old and turn his hand to coaching. He also talks about the disappointment of losing the 2005 Grand Final, the No.9s competing with Api Koroisau for a Blues Origin berth, and away from footy, his love of fishing and thoroughbreds. All that and more on our 50th episode of Behind The Roar.
