In this episode of the NEGOTIATEx podcast, Ovul Sezer discusses self-awareness and impression management in social interactions. She describes her self-awareness as “self paranoia,” highlighting the fine line between being aware and overanalyzing. Additionally, she critiques “humble bragging” and notes that awareness of cognitive biases like anchoring doesn't automatically correct them. Advocating for deeper empathy and responsiveness, Ovul stresses the importance of tuning into emotional tones and perspectives beyond words. She highlights this skill's relevance in personal and professional realms, particularly on social media, underscoring the necessity for genuine engagement and effective communication strategies in impression management.

Benji Marshall has kicked off his official coaching career with a win over the Warriors in the Preseason Challenge. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes is joined by Garry Watson and Declan McCutcheon to put the 18-16 trial game victory under the microscope. Has the game answered any questions regarding our Round 2 line-up? We take a look at some of the key positions that seemingly are still to be decided, including the halves, bench hooker/utility, back-row/lock, and wingers. Naturally, there's a good look at the performance of two of our new recruits - Jayden Sullivan and Aidan Sezer.   With Sullivan and Sezer mostly doing exactly what was expected of them, where does that leave Latu Fainu and Lachlan Galvin? Other aspects of the trial game that come up for discussion include the performance of some of our still raw, but impressive young players such as Navren Willett and Tony Sukkar. And we take a look at position number 30 in the Wests Tigers 2024 roster, asking the question - what position should we target for further strengthening based on that trial performance? It's great to be back talking football, especially a Wests Tigers victory!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Becoming a Culture Catalyst Alex Sezer, Jr. It's been said about Real Estate, that “they don't make that stuff anymore.” So it is a limited amount. God does not create more land just because… amen!  Many people have made their living in the trading of land for dollars…it's called “Real Estate” for a reason. You can REALLY create an Estate in this industry. The question many people have is:  HOW? How can they start without a lot of money? How can they find the deals that will give them enough profit? How can they negotiate all of the legal hurdles to be successful? My guest today has been doing this since his early 20's!  Praise God! Alex Sezer, Jr excelled at the Texas A&M college, both as a student leader and as an athlete on the football team!  He was the Captain of the football team and graduated as magma cum laude in engineering… He became the President of not one, but two multi-million dollar real estate companies and scaled his personal portfolio to over 340 units – using $0 dollars out of pocket!  Amen! Alex's focus is in organizational improvement and he does that by focusing on cultural transformation. He helps Christian business leaders go from Sunday morning inspiration to Monday morning implementation – by focusing on biblical principles to help create passionate, profitable and purpose-driven organizations. He does this by combining the Bible, business and management with a mission, profits with a purpose and a culture with Christ. Glory to God! First question I always start with is this… Other than that brief in formation I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Alex Sezer, Jr?” How and why did you make the transition from college football and a degree in engineering, to a career in real estate? You focus a lot on culture. I'm taking this to mean the culture of the business you are helping? You have a saying, “Show me your culture and I'll show you your future.” Can you explain that for us? What are the different areas of the culture are you looking at? I believe you call them “The Seven Elements of Culture?” Why are these important areas to evaluate? You also specialize in Biblical Leadership and translating that to business. You share about applying Jesus' leadership model. What is that and how do you accomplish this?
