Enchanted to Meet You: A Witches of West Harbor Novel The Princess Diaries Meg Cabot is a #1 New York Times bestselling author of books for both adults and tweens/teens. Born in the year of the Fire Horse (a notoriously unlucky astrological sign) and raised in Bloomington, Indiana, Meg also lived in Grenoble, France and Carmel, California (the setting for her bestselling Mediator series) before moving to New York City after graduating with a bachelor's degree in fine arts from Indiana University. After working for ten years as an assistant residence hall director at New York University (an experience from which she occasionally draws inspiration for her best-selling Heather Wells mystery series), Meg wrote the Princess Diaries series, which was made into two hit movies by Disney. While over 25 million copies of Meg's nearly 80 published books have been sold in 38 countries, Meg's most proud of the letters she's received from fans thanking her for helping them to overcome their “dislike of reading.” Some of Meg's fan favorites include the 1-800-Where-R-You? series (which has been reprinted under the title Vanished and was made into the Lifetime series called Missing), as well as All-American Girl and Avalon High (on which an original Disney Channel movie was based), and several books told entirely in emails and text messages (Boy Next Door/Boy Meets Girl/Every Boy's Got One). A fourth book told in this format, The Boy is Back, was published by HarperCollins in 2017. Meg's first ever adult book in the Princess Diaries series, Royal Wedding, was published in 2015, along with a new Princess Diaries series for younger readers, From the Notebook of a Middle School Princess, which Meg also illustrated. The 4th book in the Middle School Princess Series, Royal Crown, was published in August of 2018, as well as paperback editions of the 2nd and 3rd editions series. Remembrance, the 7th and first adult book in the Mediator series, became available in 2016, along with a novella titled Proposal. In 2020, Meg signed a franchise deal with Netflix for screen rights to The Mediator series, along with writer/director Sarah Spillane and media powerhouse Debra Martin Chase. In 2019, Meg authored a Black Canary graphic novel for DC Zoom for middle-grade readers with illustrator Cara McGee, and also launched a new adult contemporary series set on the fictional Little Bridge Island in the Florida Keys. While each book in the series focuses on a different couple and their sometimes humorous, sometimes serious struggles, all guarantee a Happily Ever After (with plenty of sunshine and margaritas). The latest, No Words, debuted in September 2021. And finally, Meg has written Quarantine Princess Diaries, a new novel for adults in The Princess Diaries series, was released in March of 2023! 10% of Meg's proceeds from the sale of this book will go to real life royal Princess Mabel van Oranje of the Netherlands' charity to end child marriage www.vowforgirls.org.  Meg Cabot (her last name rhymes with habit, as in “her books can be habit forming”) currently lives in Key West, Florida with her husband and various cats. Julie's recent work includes our favorite movie from the 2021 New Year, New Movies line up Taking a Shot at Love. Julie currently lives with her husband and son in Avon, Connecticut. Fun fact: Avon, CT is the town featured in Taking a Shot at Love where Jenna (Alexa PenaVega) lives and helps Ryan (Luke Macfarlane) rehab his hockey injury. Her focus when writing any script is its voice. Specifically, the banter and tone of the dialogue and that is what really made Taking a Shot at Love our favorite of the New Year, New Movies bunch. This is one of our favorite lines from Taking a Shot at Love written by Julie Sherman Wolfe Are There Any Easter Eggs in Taking a Shot at Love? Yes, there is an Easter egg in Taking a Shot at Love. Julie explained she named Avon's winter festivities "Winterfest" as a nod to the Hallmark Channel's brand of new winter movies. PLOT TWIST: Hallmark Channel refreshed their "Winterfest" lineup in 2021 to "New Year, New Movies." Spring Movies on Hallmark Channel Right after our interview with Julie, it was reported that she will have a brand new movie debut on Saturday, April 17, 2021 as part of Hallmark Channel's Spring Fling movie line up. In this week's episode we're returning to the wonderful world of DCOMs with AVALON HIGH. At first blush, this particular Disney Channel movie doesn't seem like anything remarkable - just another Camelot story to torture our hosts with, if anything. But it doesn't take long for it to become clear this is the most TV movie of all TV movies, boarding on parody if it wasn't so darn earnest. Not so much a wild ride as it is a slow-motion train wreck that delights to no end.

ZOMBIES 2 (2020) and Avalon High (2010) Two movies. Ten years apart. How much Disney Originals have changed during that time. They went from being all about accepting yourself and your weird hobbies to FUCK THE PATRIARCHY! DOWN WITH THE BOURGEOISIE! And it's been hella fun to watch that development. All right folks, time to gather round the table (get it?) and listen as we rant and rave about the insane roller-coaster that is Avalon High. It’s a film that has a lot going for it: a good cast, a solid source material, and loads of intrigue. However, the thing that truly makes it worth talking about is how it somehow manages to completely ruin all of it.Lucas gets way too hot on this topic and almost loses his voice. Emma is underwhelmed by the romantic lead and makes a YouTube video essay.Talking Points: This Looks Expensive, Avalon High Stans, The Kim Possible Trailer, Allie “New Girl” Pennington, The Worst Professors, Mysterious Boxes, Definitely Not Maryland, So Many Running Montages, DCOM Ezra Miller, All Practices Happening Simultaneously, The Order of the Bear, If You Are Young With a Cane You Are Evil, FRIEND BURGERS, Reincarnation Relocation, Vampires???, Marco’s Bad Boy Antics, Molly Quinn Deserves an Oscar, Locker Acting, Meteor Shower + Eclipse = Arthur, Everyone Knows, The Football Team Breaks Bad So Fast, Something For the Ladies, Buckle Your Seatbelts, Mysterious Green Lighting, Anticlimactic Relationship Resolution, Missed Theatre Opportunities, The Dumbest Plot Twist, The Backup QB Crushes It, All of Our Money Is Tied Up in Horses

Tonight we are honored to have the unique opportunity to talk with composer Robert Duncan. As many fans know, Robert is the creative genius behind the distinctive [whistling] theme song for the hit television show, ‘Castle’.  Even before we all learned to “whistle a new tune”, Robert’s been hard at work honing his skills on many shows and demonstrating his inventive and imaginative side for some time now.  In addition to his involvement in every episode of ‘Castle’ since its beginning in 2009, Robert continues to challenge his artistic talents with the music he has composed for many other television shows; ‘The Chicago Code’, ‘The Terriers’, ‘The Gates’, ‘Lie to Me’, ‘The Unit’ and many more.  He also has several movies to his credit, including Molly Quinn’s recent film ‘Avalon High’.  Music seems to play an important role in all aspects of our lives including television & film.  Music can set the desired tone, enhance the storyline and above all affect our memories and emotions during a scene. Who doesn’t remember a theme song from their favorite TV show while growing up ~ for some reason we do remember the music. We hope you will be able to join us for tonight's interview with our special guest Robert Duncan. Please note, the show will be available for download approximately 30 minutes after it's completion. You can download any STR show for FREE via iTUNES and/or the STR RSS feed. Photo credits [at left]: Used by permission, Robert Duncan
