Danielle returns to Disney Channel original movies with the 2021 movie Under Wraps. We're back on the DCOM train, baby, choo-choo! And not just any DCOM the very first DCOM ever, or rather, the remake of the very first DCOM. Gilbert, Marshall, and Amy are your average 12-year-old kids getting excited for Halloween when they decide to break into their neighbors home because they saw a moving van out in front. Solid kid logic. Inside they find an anthropoid coffin, and when Gilbert uses super kid strength to open it, he accidentally resurrects a mummy. Fortunately, the mummy, dubbed Harold, is a pretty chill dude for a mummy that's hitherto been dead for thousands of years. Marshall is so stoked to have a mummy friend that he decides to put him in a movie for a class project that is, bafflingly, a fictional movie about a mummy. But starring a real mummy. Kids, man. Anyway, it's not all fun and games as the neighbor wants to get the mummy, which he stole from a museum, back, and he's nobody's mom! He resolves to track down Harold and kids, who learn that Harold only has three days to be placed back to sleep in his anthropoid coffin or he'll die. Again. Sam is not convinced it really matters. Anyway, Shenanigans ensue, there's some mummy dancing (yes, really), and our kids get into a whole lot of trouble. However, in the end we all learn the most valuable lesson of all: If your mom seems indifferent to your existence, maybe her new boyfriend will care about you.

While plot details and Fanning's role remain under wraps, the film is generating significant buzz. Prey followed a young Comanche warrior battling a Predator and received critical acclaim and multiple Emmy nominations. Trachtenberg co-writes Badlands with Patrick Aison, known for Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan. Fanning recently starred in The Great and The Girl From Plainville. A direct sequel to Prey is also in development, with Badlands moving forward first. No release date has been announced.

In s3e53 of Platemark, hosts Ann Shafer and Tru Ludwig conclude their conversation with Carol Wax, artist and author of The Mezzotint: History and Technique. Carol recently published the second edition of The Mezzotint, expanding greatly in every area from the 1990 first edition. As she tells us, there is a better break down of rocking the copper plates, and of inking and printing them, plus there are new chapters about printing papers and the history of the medium and how it fits in the greater history of prints. They talk about the early history of mezzotint, whether one can over rock a plate, what happens when you do, and about Carol's dislike of perspectival composition, all the machines and their personalities, and her dogs Cecil, the Weimaraner, and Delia, the new dog in her life. The conversation ran long, so the episode is split into two parts. Carol Wax (American, born 1953). Singer I, 1984. Mezzotint. 11 ½ x 8 in. Courtesy of the artist. An ancient love story, a vengeful enemy, and reunited friends. In this episode, we examine the Disney sequel film Under Wraps 2 (2022). Email: mummymoviepodcast@gmail.com Terms and Phrases Deir el-Bahari - The mortuary temple of the female pharaoh Hatshepsut. Besides being one of the most breathtaking locations in Egypt, it is also the site where a cache was discovered in the 1800s. This cache contained the remains of most kings of the New Kingdom, including notable figures such as Thutmose I, II, and III, Seti I, Ahmose I, and Ramesses I, II, III, and IX. Third Intermediate Period - This time period spanned approximately from 1077 BC to 656 BC, covering the 21st to 25th Dynasties. During this era, Egypt was not unified, and multiple dynasties ruled simultaneously. Interestingly, none of these dynasties were native to Egypt. The 21st to 24th Dynasties had Libyan origins, while the 25th Dynasty originated from Nubia (modern-day Sudan). Articles Available Free Online Szafrański, Z. E. (2015). Disney's Under Wraps!

In this episode, I look into the 2021 remake of the Disney film, Under Wraps. In this film, our main characters, Marshall, Amy and Gilbert discover an ancient Egyptian mummy that has come back from the dead. However, unlike the classic horror movies of the past, this mummy is friendly! Not only will I review this film, but as a trained Egyptologist and archaeologist, I shall also look into the background information and historical accuracy. Recently, I got to speak with composer and Grammy-Award-winning songwriter Alex Geringas, who has had the distinct pleasure of creating many songs and musical numbers for the Disney Universe. Alex is the co-writer of the song “My Kind of Monster” for the Disney Channel Original movie "Under Wraps 2", alongside the film's directors Alex Zamm and Michael Goode. The song is full of energy and celebrates letting your freak flag fly. It was performed by cast members Malachi Barton, Christian J Simon and Sophia Hammons. The movie centers around three friends Amy, Gilbert, and Marshal who band together once again to keep their beloved mummy friend Harold and his love, Rose, safe from the wrath of an evil mummy. Alex's song My Kind of Monster captures the festive feel of Halloween, and is a great companion for this family-friendly feature. Alex's music can also be heard at Disneyland. Along with Duddy Brown, he created the theme song for Disneyland's firework show, “Wondrous Journeys,” entitled “It's Wondrous.” The lyrics are enchanting, and the music is uplifting as it crescendos to a magical climax. The song explores “the magic that we call life,” which encapsulates the Disney vibe perfectly. Continuing his work in the Disney realm, Alex also co-wrote the theme song for "The Chicken Squad" on Disney Junior. Additionally, he wrote the lyrics and produced the Camp Minnie theme song for "Minnie's Bow-Toons".

Hannah and Cameron talk about Under Wraps, the first official Disney Channel Original Movie, and its remake, Under Wraps. What changed in twenty-four years? What stayed the same? Is one of them better than the other? What is Under Wraps...about? Hannah has a lot of burning questions about Mummies.
We are back with our second episode of the second season, but we are talking about the OFFICIAL fist Disney Channel Original Movie..Under Wraps! We got mummies on skateboards, we got knives in the garbage disposal, we got moms taking dolls to the movies! All on this week's episode of Dbags and DCOMs!
Incredibly, we managed to get an interview with the legendary Tull frontman (Steven's favourite band in case you didn't hear him mention it on every previous episode...)! Ian talked with us about the brand new, rocking Jethro Tull album RökFlöte, Norse mythology, Vladimir Putin appearing at a Tull meet-and-greet, the time journalists demanded details of his upcoming gender reassignment surgery, Broadsword 40th Anniversary boxset details, Under Wraps getting REAL drums, how he's a "bit of a fan" of Motörhead despite the umlauts, bands like Mötley Crüe using backing tapes on stage instead of playing completely live, how performing helps his asthma (not COPD!), how work is going on the NEXT album and its planned release date, and how he's a cranky old guy like Morrissey these days! We were told we'd get, at most, 45 minutes with Ian but we ended up chatting for over 80 minutes and it was just brilliant. We think you'll enjoy this episode. Give it a listen and check out RökFlöte, it's superb!

This month marks the 25th anniversary of the very first official DCOM... Under Wraps! Join Jehan and Avery on this hijink-filled mummy romp (no, not the one famously starring Rachel Weisz) as they see just what got Disney Channel Original Movies started.
This week, for our (slightly-belated) second Halloween episode of the year, the randomizer goes all the way back to 2021 to cover a DCOM that happens to be a remake of the first DCOM to ever get branded with the official "DCOM" label. It's about a poorly-protected Egyptian mummy who comes back to life, befriends a few kids, appears in a homemade monster movie, stars in a viral dance video, runs afoul of antiquity thieves, sticks a remote to the ceiling with honey somehow, accidentally buys too much birdseed, fights off goons with an enormous ice cream cone, and eventually goes back to sleep. "Well that all sounds interesting," I hear you ask, "but by any chance does it also involve an outdated Kid 'N Play haircut and/or a villain eating octopus erotically?" Friend, you ain't gonna believe the answer. Join Tony Goldmark, Emily Clark, Zach Hurst and a Surprise Special Guest as they sign non-disclosure agreements and keep the project UNDER WRAPS (2021)! Harold the Mummy was stolen from a museum and some horror-loving kids find him and make it their mission to help him back to his sarcophagus before it's too late, BUT there are some goons up to no good trying to make it so this doesn't happen! Malachi Barton & Reed Horstmann recently joined host Elias in the cave for Press Day for the upcoming release of their new Disney Show 'The Villains of Valley View' premiering June 3rd. We enjoyed watching an early release here at the "cave" cant wait for everyone to check it out! "The Villains of Valley View" - When teenage supervillain Havoc stands up to the head of the League of Villains, her family is forced to change their identities and relocate to a sleepy Texas suburb. With the help of her effervescent new neighbor Hartley, Havoc - going incognito as "Amy" - must somehow hide her superpowers and quell her villainous nature in favor of something she and the rest of her family have fought against all their lives: being normal. Stage trained actress Isabella Pappas (as Havoc/Amy) leads a talented ensemble cast including Lucy Davis ("Chilling Adventures of Sabrina") as Eva/Surge, James Patrick Stuart ("General Hospital") as Vic/Kraniac, Malachi Barton (Disney Channel's "Under Wraps") as Colby/Flashform, Reed Horstmann ("The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia") as Jake/Chaos and newcomer Kayden Muller-Janssen as Hartley. We have a savage 12 year old girl with a BRA, a Mummy who can pee through his mummy wraps (???) and bad guys who pose as ice cream truck workers with GUNS!!! We'll leave you on this, “Let lovers be.”- Magnus.
