Theory of a Deadman are back to their hard rocking ways with their new single "Dinosaur" and a new rock album on the horizon. Lead singer and guitarist Tyler Connelly joins us this week to tell us about their journey of the last half a decade. There's a lot of real life that shows up in Theory's music and their songs have resonated with millions of fans world wide, and no they aren't just that "Bad Girlfriend" band.
We once consistently referred to Eddie as a “Weiner,” and now? He's our guy! He's settling in with Anna until the quiet girl from Sophie's support group breaks some news that might ultimately change everything. Katherine is ABOUT that drama with our movie star and Greta. It's egg retrieval time for Gary and Maggie, whose mom steps up to the plate, while Rome deals with an old problem who is now a new problem (Maddox's dad), and Gina deals with Yale-ditching Tyrell and his new cocky, judgmental girlfriend who has been around for two weeks and suddenly knows everything. One more episode to go this year, and — breaking news — ANOTHER SEASON AFTER THAT. Will Kevin & Dave be written off the podcast version of the show? We'll find out…soon.

This episode of #FeministFridays is seriously badass. Why? Because Tokyo-based Brie Schmidt, is all about crushing societal expectations that pressure people to be 'perfect', both through her work as a fellow feminist Podcaster who hosts Bad Girlfriend Radio, and her work as a Relationship Counsellor. In this fun conversation, Brie and Sarah not only discuss the importance of practicing self love in order to have genuine and authentic relationships with others, but also their mutual appreciation for the Spice Girls and pop culture!
With their anniversary around the corner the Winnas take a step back in time to talk about their relationship pre-marriage. They also talk about the latest tv shows and movie that they have been able to watch.

What is a bad girlfriend, and why is it okay to be one? In this introductory episode, I talk about why embracing imperfections is the key to having healthy relationships and how to put being a better bad girlfriend first. If you're ready to let go of the pressure to be a "good" girlfriend or a total people pleaser in your love life, here's where to start! While teaching you how to start leveling up your relationships and release the shame that shows up in them, I also give some background on my own love and dating experiences, including the cringey stories of trying to navigate romance without ever being taught how to really have healthy relationships. Sound familiar? Listen in for the relatable and empowering advice, and then head over to brieschmidt.com/am-i-a-bad-girlfriend/ to get the full manifesto for this episode. In 2006, Ed Levine was a 54-year-old freelance food writer who wanted control of his own professional life. He took to the internet, created a blog and called it Serious Eats. Unbeknownst to Ed he had launched what would become one of the most respected and most oved food sites in America. Ed’s chronicled the entire surprising and wild journey in his new book Serious Eater: A Food Lover’s Perilous Quest for Pizza and Redemption. In January 2013, we met with Brianna Lance, Savannah King, Lyla Vander and Christian Owens, better known as all-ladies rock quartet Bad Girlfriend. They tell us about their eating habits on tour, and also perform songs from their first self-titled EP. Snacky Tunes is powered by Simplecast.

Staci goes through the metaphorical stages of a relationship as she talks about the Trump/Kim meeting and how it had the nerve to interrupt The Bachelorette (gasp!), Not-a-flamethrower flamethrowers now available to the general population (what could go wrong?), and a clarinet player (clarinetist? what is the proper term?) who wins lawsuit against ex-girlfriend who pretended to be his dream school and sent him a rejection letter so he wouldn't go off and break up with her -- clearly she aced "Bad Girlfriend 101".As always, if you enjoyed the show, follow us and subscribe to the show: you can find us on iTunes or on any app that carries podcasts as well as on YouTube. Sassy sprite Christian Owens, singer/guitarist of the awesome all-girl band Bad Girlfriend comes on down to share an EPIC tale of the "local benefit show for a dog gone horribly wrong." It's all the minutiae you love and loathe about playing local shows on the Lower East Side and then some, including talk of working for Cyndi Lauper, LL Cool J, and the birth of the Omnichord. There's a pound of mirth on this week's WORST GIG EVER!

Hear about the band’s love of tacos, breakfast, and soup! This program has been brought to you by Tekserve. “If every person ran their station like a dishwasher, every restaurant would have three Michelin stars.” [7:35] “Pastry is about trying to create new textures, tastes, and forms.” [11:00] — Alex Stupak on Snacky Tunes
With a traditional Hard Rock pulsating sound, SuperSuckers has breached the gap between normal and abnormal. Their music is fresh and fun and has to be seen in person to fully enjoy the talents of the artists that make up the band. Visit The “SuperSuckers” Home Page Honesty is always the best policy. Theory of a Deadman adheres to that age old adage on their fourth album for Roadrunner/604 Records, The Truth Is… The platinum-selling Vancouver quartet builds arena-ready hooks around hard rocking stories of good times, bad times and everything in between. “Lowlife," is a raucous anthem celebrating simple pleasures. Meanwhile, "The Bitch Came Back" gives a hilarious send-off to a bad ex with roaring guitars and flourishes of horns. "Hurricane" stirs up a storm of emotions over an orchestral hum of guitars and massive chorus. Then there's "Head Above Water," which delivers an uplifting, contemplative message encased in mid-tempo rhythms. Theory of a Deadman—Tyler Connolly [Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar], David Brenner [Rhythm Guitar], Dean Back [Bass], Joey Dandeneau [Drums]—are telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth, like it or not. For The Truth Is…, Theory of a Deadman preserved the sound that fans worldwide have grown to love on Scars & Souvenirs [2008], Gasoline [2005], and Theory of a Deadman [2002], while expanding, enhancing, and evolving their approach. The band solidified their place at the top of modern hard rock by exceeding Platinum sales with their breakthrough Scars & Souvenirs and with #1 Mainstream Rock Radio hit "Bad Girlfriend."At the same time, other singles, "So Happy" and "By The Way," became crowd favorites on tours with everyone from Mötley Crüe and Godsmack to Daughtry and label mates Stone Sour. For The Truth Is… the band stuck to what works best and are taking it to the next level. "Musically, not too much changed," says Connolly. "We had a bit of an epiphany when it came to songwriting though. We've been a band for over a decade now, and we realized what we're doing makes sense. There was a lot more confidence. I was able to dig in lyrically and be wide open. When I write, I either want to kiss someone on the lips or punch them in the face. Anything in between is boring." To capture those two ends of the spectrum, the band hunkered down once again in Los Angeles’ Bay 7 studio during January 2011 with Howard Benson [My Chemical Romance, 3 Doors Down]. Brenner adds, "We really found our sound on Scars & Souvenirs." "Lowlife" pulsates with stadium-sized energy, and it tells a clever tale in the process. Connolly reveals, "I thought it'd be cool to write a fun anthem about being a lowlife. It's okay to drive an old piece of shit car, get arrested and be a dirtball. Our fans aren't wearing suits and ties. They don't have diamond necklaces. They're regular people who like to party and sing rock 'n' roll music. The song speaks to them."
