Rivky sits down with Alyssa Goldwater and Chanie Kamman, the co-authors of Every Body is, a new children's book for Orthodox families. They share why they wrote the book, the importance of using the word fat and how they handled tznius in the book. Alyssa Goldwater is a wife, mom and the Digital Influencer behind the lifestyle brand, A Glass of Goldwater (@alyssagoldwater). She is also the newly published author of, ‘Every Body Is', a children's book nurturing positive body image through Torah Values. Merging motherhood with humor, A Glass of Goldwater has created a community and support network of more than 200,000 women across the world. By having hard conversations about difficult topics such as mental health, the dangers of diet culture, and the unspoken struggles of motherhood, Alyssa not only keeps people laughing with her sarcastic take on life, but also helps women feel part of something bigger - that they aren't alone in this crazy world. Chanie Kamman is a mother of seven young children who is passionate about raising kids with respect, emotional wellness, and joyful Judaism. Recognizing a void of Jewish resources for kids on emotional health, she took the initiative to create them herself. Her popular children's books include _Me & My Feelings, The Friend That Stayed_, _I Messed Up_, and most recently _Every Body Is_, co-written with Alyssa Goldwater - with hopes of writing more during nap time, between homework crises, and fueled by a steady supply of lukewarm coffee. Together with her husband and children, Chanie is a proud Chabad Shlucha in Stamford, CT. I sit down with Jenny Goldfarb, the founder of Mrs. Goldfarb's Unreal Deli to discuss her vegan deli meat. She shares how she ties veganism into her torah practice, how she got her new product into the market, and her experience on Shark Tank. Jenny Goldfarb, aka Mrs. Goldfarb, is the founder of Unreal Deli. She grew up on the Standard American Diet (SAD), and in her early 30s, learned about the plight of animals on factory farms, which led her to adopt a plant-based diet. After much trial and error she became a whiz in the plant-based kitchen and realized the thing she missed most after becoming vegan was premium NY-style deli meat. She sought to recreate a corned beef made from beets, chickpeas, tomatoes and high protein wheat. The recipe became such a hit that it encouraged her to produce her Corn'd Beef Reubens for Delis, Whole Foods, even Shark Tank, where she took on Mark Cuban as primary investor. The company then developed Unreal Roasted Turk'y followed by Unreal Steak Slices (coming soon). With no experience in the food sector, let alone launching a company, she gave birth to this rapidly expanding business in her tiny kitchen while pregnant with her 3rd child. The Unreal Deli product line can now be found in thousands of restaurant and grocery locations with more to come. Say what? What are we celebrating? All sizes. All women. Who want to look beautiful, without feeling the need to be a certain size. Without needing to fit into a style that's not right for them. That's what Rivky's goal looked like when she hit a brick wall, trying to find clothing that fit her & made her look and feel beautiful in them as well. "If you can't find 'em, make 'em" - and that's precisely what she did, as she started her business, Impact Fashion, beautifying her clients, one closet at a time. Here's the catch. According to Rivky, wearing clothes that fit well, at any size, does something magical for your self esteem, your inner self worth; something that she's heard countless of times from her customers. They are so happy that they keep on coming back for more. More classy clothing. Timeless clothing. Clothing that make them feel stylish, modest and comfortable in their own skin. Check out Rivky's fashion line on www.impactfashionnyc.com Find Rivky on Instagram, and other social media platforms @impact.fashion.nyc. Connect with Rivky directly: rivky@impactfashionnyc.com. I sit down with Roberta Blevins, a former successful MLMer, to discuss her time in that cult like world. She shares What an MLM is, the tactics used in an MLM to maintain rank, and how the structure encourages bad behavior. Plus we discuss why personal accountability isn't relevant in an industry with a higher failure rate than gambling. Roberta Blevins was a consultant for 3 MLMs; It Works!, LuLaRoe and Modere, and a customer of many. A Trainer with LuLaRoe, Roberta had a team of 75 women under her, and made over $65,000 in bonuses alone. Definitely "successful" in the eyes of MLM, she was in the top 5% of the company, personal friends with many at Home Office, and invited to speak in company propaganda. She definitely "worked her business", and still came to the conclusion it was a losing game and a systemically run scam. She eft the MLM world in 2017 and began publicly educating and speaking out against it. Since leaving MLM, she has educated herself on the systemic structure of the business model, the psychological manipulation, the seedy underbelly and governmental ties, the cult indoctrination, and the history of Multi Level Marketing. She educates daily on TikTok, and podcasts in her "free time", talking to the survivors and victims of these commercial cults, disguised as the quickest route to the American Dream. robertablevins.com lifeaftermlmpod.com Click here to get the Am Yisrael Chai crewneck. I sit down with Sew Heidi, a woman who chose the freelance route in fashion and educates others. She shares why owning a brand wasn't for her, why freelancing as a fashion designer has worked so well, the types of brands that are willing to hire freelance designers and how we can all overcome self doubt. After running a brand she grew to hate and working 60+ hours in a toxic fashion job, Heidi almost burnt out in fashion. But then she found freelancing - real freelancing, where you're in charge of your own business, not temp job "permalancing" where you work 40 hours on-site for one brand. Heidi built her freelance career to $100k+ and was living her dream, working when she wanted, traveling, and never worrying about paying the bills. Since then, she's taught 1000s of freelance fashion designers (and TDs, PDs, patternmakers and more) how to work for themselves in fashion AND make money. I sit down with Masey Kaplan and Jen Simonic, the founders of The Loose Ends Project, who pair crafters with unfinished project of those who have passed. They share why they have so many more finishers than projects, how they pair the projects with the right finisher and how they preserve the work of the loved one. Masey Kaplan is a graphic designer and voracious knitter. Knitting carried her through the pandemic, as she ravenously stitched below the Zoom line, where no one could see. She learned to crochet before kindergarten, learned to knit at the age of 15, re-learned knitting in her 20s, and has not stopped, even for a day. When she dies, her family knows to check the little book next to her bed, where they'll find an illustrated guide to every project she's making, and who gets what. Jen Simonic has been knitting since she was 6. Her grandmother taught her on steel needles from WWII bandage making. She was the weirdo that knit under the desk in 6th grade. The first piece she finished for someone else was a sweater that a friend's mom was making for her dad. That mom said “If I finish it he'll leave me. You finish it and give it to someone who needs love.” Jen lives with her family in Seattle, WA. They love her even though her stash is taking over the house. looseendsproject.org Click here to preorder The Snuggle Dress Click here to get the Am Yisrael Chai crewneck.
