The Judeo-Christian Thought of Franz Rosenzweig (Liverpool UP, 2025) offers a new interpretation of Franz Rosenzweig's magnum opus The Star of Redemption, commonly treated as one of the high points of modern Jewish thought, and demonstrates its profound immersion in the Protestant conceptuality of its time. It argues that appreciating the decisive mark of Protestant thought on The Star solves many of its puzzles, challenges some entrenched hagiographic orthodoxies about Rosenzweig, and provides a unique perspective onto one of the most influential cases of the 'Protestantisation of Judaism'. The book shows that Rosenzweig's inventiveness resides in his weaving of Jewish and Christian motifs that result in an original scheme that is remarkably inclusive toward Judaism from a Christian perspective and remarkably inclusive toward Christianity from a Jewish perspective. The Star thus emerges anew, not simply as a work of Jewish thought that is 'influenced' by Christian theology but as a work that is more accurately characterised as 'Judeo-Christian'." Recently, the National Roller Coaster Museum was a topic of conversation in theme park internet circles - specifically when they held a fundraising campaign to raise money to bring four iconic coaster trains to the museum in Plainview, Texas. However, the sentiment was not "Wow, it's awesome that the organization is working to preserve roller coaster history." but rather "Wow. I can't believe this private collection (wrong) is hoarding coasters and will never open to the public (wrong) and it's 100% a scam organization." - (Again, wrong.)Newsflash to the coaster enthusiasts who are somehow also well versed in traditional museum opening timelines and operations. These things take time. They take money. It's not as cut and dry as you might think of "well they have coasters I want to see so let me reenact the Eric Andre fence shaking meme in real life so they'll let me in."This week on the podcast, we're joined by National Roller Coaster Museum & Archives Members Kris Rowberry (Ride Entertainment) & Mark Rosenzweig (3DX Scenic) to talk all things Roller Coaster Museum. If you would like to understand Israeli Jews, to get to know someone who made aliyah from Queens, New York (move to Israel) close to thirty years ago, then have a listen to this schmooze with Rashi Rosenzweig. He lives in Raanana, Israel, is married with four boys, and just yesterday found himself, like all other Israelis in the region, running down to a bomb shelter once again, as a ballistic missile made its way from Yemen. In this interview, we learn about the genesis of his first name (Rashi was a famous rabbi found in the Talmud and the Torah), the spelling of his last name (which is different than mine), his passion for acting and knowledge of the city he made aliyah to. Rashi is your classic Israel citizen who share a small country and is deeply in love with the Jewish people. This is an hour and half spent with a man who decided to make Israel his home, and despite the wars and Intifadas never once thought about leaving it. Am Yisrael Chai.

As of today, February 16th, Google's platform policies allow the collection, sharing and usage of IP addresses and other signals across websites, apps, gaming consoles or Connected TV. This has been perceived as a direct contradiction of the company's long-term anti-fingerprinting policy. The company is expecting that a growing reliance on Privacy Enhancing Technologies will do away with the resulting privacy risks.  Daniel B. Rosenzweig is the Founder & Principal Attorney at DBR Data Privacy Solutions. He advises clients on legal and technical compliance with data privacy and AI laws, and counsels companies on industry mobile app store requirements, AdTech, and privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs). She describes the work as targeting the area of the brain which talk therapy is unable to access, and the patient is able to replace negative images with positive ones. While the memory of the trauma is not erased, its impact is mitigated. Laney says,“The most difficult aspect of discussing ART is the fact that it sounds too good to be true.” We discuss her training, how she discovered and devleposed her technique, how she trains other practioners and offers many examples of successful patient treatment. As students return to school, more states and districts are cracking down on cellphones. But not everyone agrees. On “Post Reports,” we hear how things look on the frontlines of this battle.Read more: A few years ago, Jennifer Rosenzweig's high school students gave her a strange nickname: the “Bucket Lady.” That's because Rosenzweig, an English teacher at Scarsdale High School in New York state, saw students increasingly on their cellphones, including in class, and having trouble focusing. Her solution? Have students drop their phones in a bucket before class. Today, Rosenzweig is no longer the sole phone cop at her school, which now has a caddy on every classroom door, with pockets that students drop their phones into as they enter. New policies like this are spreading at schools throughout the United States, with pressure coming from teachers and parents who see phones as a distraction, an impediment to learning and a burden on students' mental health.Host Martine Powers speaks with national education reporter Laura Meckler about the growing battle over phones in schools and the different opinions on the correct approach. Last May, Microsoft announced that a Chinese state-sponsored hacking group, Volt Typhoon, appeared to be targeting U.S. critical infrastructure and entities abroad in part through establishing a presence in a malware-infected network, or botnet, consisting of old devices located in the United States. At the end of January, the Justice Department announced it had removed the botnet from hundreds of American devices. Cybersecurity experts Timothy Edgar and Paul Rosenzweig both wrote articles for Lawfare discussing the Volt Typhoon intrusion and the U.S. response. But the authors take away very different lessons from the intrusion. Edgar argued that although the removal of the botnet was a success in terms of cybersecurity, the legal theory the government relied on for conducting this operation has dangerous privacy implications. Rosenzweig, on the other hand, contended that the Volt Typhoon breach illuminates flawed assumptions at the core of the U.S. cybersecurity strategy, which he says must be reexamined. Lawfare Research Fellow Matt Gluck spoke with Edgar and Rosenzweig about why the Volt Typhoon intrusion and the U.S. response that followed matter for the future of U.S. cybersecurity and privacy, how the government should weigh security and privacy when responding to cyber intrusions, whether nuclear conflict is a good analogy for cyber conflict, and much more.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/lawfare.
