Have any questions, insights, or feedback? Send me a text!Length: 1 hour 29 minutesSynopsis: This evening (11/13/25), in our Thursday night Pirkei Avos shiur for women, we continued with the clause we worked on last time. We spent the first part of shiur reviewing everything we covered last time, answering the questions we left off with and sharpening some of the insights we had. Then we moved on to the Meiri, who gave us several different interpretations of the first two clauses of the mishnah. We read and discussed all of them but one, and were intrigued by how different of an approach he took. There remains at least one more idea in the Meiri. We'll see where we go after that.-----מקורות:אבות ד:טזרש"ירמב"םרבינו יונהרמב"ם - משנה תורה: הקדמהרש"י - קהלת יב:י-יבמאירי-----This week's Torah content is sponsored by Joey and Estee Lichter in commemoration of the yahrzeits of Joey's mother, Faiga bas Yehuda, and Estee's father, Yisroel ben R' Moshe.-----If you've gained from what you've learned here, please consider contributing to my Patreon at www.patreon.com/rabbischneeweiss. Have any questions, insights, or feedback? Send me a text!Length: 1 hour 27 minutesSynopsis: This morning (11/14/25), in our Friday morning Machshavah Lab series for women, we continued learning through the prologue of Iyov (1:1 - 3:1). We began with a question of Iyov Methodology: Which commentaries would I recommend? This led to another important tangent (the second in three sessions!) about the ikkarim (fundamentals of Judaism). I'm particularly interested in what people think about what was said. We then read through Iyov 1:6-12 at a more leisurely pace than our quick overview last time, and we concluded by reading the Malbim's and Rambam's prefaces, explaining why I will NOT be decoding the allegory of the satan until a few months from now. The plan for next time is to go over the peshat of the remainder of the prologue, which we'll analyze in the session after that.-----מקורות:איוב א:א-יברמב"ם - משנה תורה: ספר המדע, הלכות עבודה זרה וחוקות הגוים ב:א-גרמב"ם - משנה תורה: ספר המדע, הלכות יסודי התורה ב:ו-זמלבי"ם - איוב א:ארש"י - איוב א:ארמב"ם - מורה הנבוכים ג:כב-----This week's Torah content is sponsored by Joey and Estee Lichter in commemoration of the yahrzeits of Joey's mother, Faiga bas Yehuda, and Estee's father, Yisroel ben R' Moshe.-----If you've gained from what you've learned here, please consider contributing to my Patreon at www.patreon.com/rabbischneeweiss. I don't know about you, but whenever I've read this one in the past, it's kinda felt more or less like a repetition of the previous one. Well, NOT ANYMORE! Even our initial analysis opened my eyes to patterns and themes I had never seen in the perek. It seems like this one is VERY tightly connected to the previous one, so our analysis ended up being built on what we learned over the past three weeks. I call "straight-up advice." No mashalim, no cryptic wording, no riddles - just proverbs telling you what to do and why. My question going into this was whether there would be any correlation between the style of presentation and the quality or depth of the ideas. Judging by this morning's analysis, the answer seems to be in the negative. We had just as many questions here as we usually do, and the ideas we developed felt completely Mishleic. Estee gave up her career to become a full-time housewife—and proudly lets her husband make all the decisions. Critics say she's turning back the clock on women's rights. Supporters say she's redefining modern femininity. Dr. Phil sits down with Estee and her husband Conner to unpack the “tradwife” movement. Is it submission—or empowerment? Neha calls it a dangerous setback. Mara runs a company and can't imagine ever “submitting” to a man—let alone being one's wife. Conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey backs stay-at-home moms, but questions if tradwives are being honest. During his tenure as Senior Advisor, he played a critical role in advancing bilateral U.S. - Israel relations with a focus on economic development & technology cooperation. Aryeh was appointed as the Special Envoy for Economic Normalization. In this episode of The Patrick Coffin Show, host Patrick sits down with the amazing Kamala Harris impersonator Ester Paltilova (Estee Palti) in a free-wheeling improvised exchange. As political polarization intensifies, humor often becomes both a unifying force and effective coping tool. Estee (a wife and mom of young kids, and a professional nurse) drops truth bombs about the high wire walked by comedians in an era where people are quick to take offense. Estee and Patrick dive into how satire and humor can open up difficult conversations and discuss the absurdities of modern life with family and friends. Estee explains how comedians today have a responsibility to both entertain and provoke thought, while also navigating the ever-evolving boundaries of what's considered "acceptable" in comedy. The conversation also touches on the growing trend of cancel culture and the impact it has on artistic expression, despite pressures to conform. Ultimately, the episode underscores how laughter can be a powerful antidote to division, helping us connect and—maybe—transcend differences. Topics covered in this episode: Improv session complete with word association game with Vice President Kamala Harris! When Estee discovered her gift of unbelievable imitation of Kamala and her infamous cackle Why censorship of comedy is dangerous How comedy and wit can break media spells and hello people use their brains The media's love affair with, and advocacy for, the Harris/Walz ticket The importance of humor in winning hearts and minds to clear thinking and creating teachable moments for the audience Resources mentioned in this episode: Estee Palti's socials: mommyrn88 on Twitter, and Instagram Estee merch: https://www.shopwithmommyrn.shop/

He didn't give me a topic so I wanted to give everyone my opinion about the whole Trad wife phenomenon that's been happening on Tik Tok. Leftist platforms like Vice are freaking out saying that it's related to the alt right. Feminists have usually been Democrats and Republicans have been into traditional ways of living. But both are gynocentric. Feminism promises women overt control over their lives and others and traditionalism gives women covert control. Women that are putting on fifties and early sixties sun dresses like June cleaver are just going through cope because they can't get a Chad. It's just the female chameleon and it's all about taking the population and putting us through the old divide and conquer. The Vice article follows Estee Williams a busty blonde that looks like she's fallen out of a fifties magazine. She looks like she's channeling Marilyn Monroe. She says she didn't grow up in a traditional family but that's not exactly true. Her mother would go to work and then come home to cook and clean for the family. Estee didn't want to live like that so she quite college and adopted the stay-at-home lifestyle because her electrician husband asked her to. So she decided to document her new trad life on tiktok and it's freaking out leftists. She's probably got a hundred thousand followers on tiktok by now. Vice says that many of the people that follow her hate follow her. That's their way of saying that she's not relevant. But I smell fear. She only started putting out content 9 months ago. What people don't realise is that her building her tiktok and social media is going to become a job. She's even started a YouTube channel and will probably grow it and monetize it. The left is freaking out saying that the tradwife movement is going to take women back 65-70 years ago. Part of the Vice article said this and I quote: "I think it's overreaction to problems that a lot of younger people are seeing in our culture,” says Jordan B. Cooper, an ordained Lutheran pastor and adjunct professor of systematic theology at Cornell University, who posted a YouTube video outlining five problems he had with the trad movement earlier this year. Half of those watching videos tagged #tradwife on TikTok are aged 18-24, according to the app's internal stats – and videos tagged #tradwife have been seen two million times worldwide in the last week. Not all of those people watching will necessarily be wanting to replicate the olden days: some likely watch tradwife content as part of a fetish, with some pointing out the sexual connotations of a motherly figure comforting you through a smartphone screen." unquote I think that for most young people life is too difficult. It's impossible to get ahead on hard work alone. You have to hustle, scam and have a lot of luck. Vice also thinks that the tradwife movement is filled with followers of Mr. Moustache because they want a return to more old-fashioned architecture. A while back I watched a video discussing how even modern architects living in traditional beautiful buildings while they building buildings for everyone else that are modern and dehumanizing. The left is trying to connect a traditional castle in Germany to places where Hitler held his loot. It's quite the stretch. What is going on with the Israeli Supreme Court? This discussion delves into the Israeli political system, highlighting the significant role and influence of the Supreme Court. The speakers touch on various topics including the distinction between laws and 'basic laws' in Israel, which are somewhat equivalent to a constitution. A key point of the discussion is the power of the Supreme Court to strike down these 'basic laws', a first in Israeli history, leading to the crisis of the judicial reform that took up headlines prior to the war. The hosts also examine how this development impacts the democratic process and the balance of judicial, legislative, and executive powers. Relevant examples such as laws related to ultra-Orthodox military service and illegal immigration highlight the controversy about the Supreme Court's decisions. The conversation concludes with reflections on the difficulties of reforming the system and avoiding a constitutional crisis.
