We caught up with Martin just after he completed the Boston Marathon working with the Christopher and Dana Reeve's Foundation to raise money for spinal cord injury research. We talked about the illness that left him temporarily paralyzed from the waist down 25 years ago, still dealing with some issues from the SCI while outwardly looking completely healed, and the thrill of being able to raise money for SCI research and the perspective that gives him having dealt with the injury. Following a car accident at 16, Addis Alemayehu Gonte's life changed forever. Eventually he recovered from multiple traumatic injuries. Addis shares the challenges of living with visable and invisible disabilities. While in college he founded a nonprofit, ABLE Mindset, that works to uplift and empower lives through the creative arts. Addis reflects on the isolation often felt by individuals with disabilities and how we can bridge those gaps. We reveal the personal journeys that have led us to understand the significance of vulnerability and the importance of suspending assumptions. Born in Brooklyn, Rob is best known for his 31 year tenure with the Imus in the Morning Program, providing many of the show's most popular characters. In the early 1980's he was one of the three members of the Improv Group, 'The Identical Triplets', with Eddie Murphy, and when the group went their separate ways he began a 10 year career as a National Stand Up Comic Headliner. Prior to CDT, Alexandra taught at Georgetown Law School where she founded the Institute for Technology Law and Policy and led Georgetown's Tech Scholars Program. She began her career as a litigator at Cravath, Swaine, and Moore in New York City and taught for five years as an adjunct professor at Columbia University School of Law. She holds a B.A. from Yale and a J.D. from Columbia. She serves on the board of the Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation and is a mayoral appointee on DC's Innovation and Technology Inclusion Council.
