There is a tendency for us to become experts as a way for us to avoid practicing what we preach. Pastor Josh teaches about the person who knows the Bible well in theory but who does not practically uphold the law.
What is the difference beween a boaster and a proclaimer? A boaster puffs up; a proclaimer reaches out. A boaster takes adulation; a proclaimer gives inspiration. A boaster thinks, dreams, and talks big; a proclaimer has someone big to talk about.
This years conversation starters will be based upon sharing your faith and talking to others about Jesus. We hope that you are encouraged to do just that after listening to this short devotional thought.

Series: Different Title: Faith in trials Date: 05/02/2021 Speaker: Pastor Michael
May 2, 2021 The Harbour Church
Morning Worship Sermon with Pastor Cameron Davis. Scripture Ref. 1 Peter 1-9 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood. May grace and peace be multiplied to you. Born Again to a Living Hope. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

What does it take to choose to stand strong? We’re starting our study of 1 Peter to see what to do.

Grab your free scripture journal today at www.prayingchristianwomen.com/journal! Today's Coffee Break question is about whether it's okay to allow someone of a different faith to pray for or with us. Alana and I went into this without discussing it beforehand, and it turned out to be one of the most challenging questions we've gotten to date! We hope you'll come away from this episode with some food for thought, and if you have any thoughts we'd love to hear from you in the comments!
Today’s Text: John 4:1-42; Luke 9:49-56 Animosity and hostility Luke 9:53-55 Grace and Truth John 4:7-26 “Tell me all your thoughts on God...” Counting Blue Cars; Dishwalla For Further Discussion Based on exchanges seen in John 4:7-26 & Luke 7:1-10 and on what you know of him, how might Jesus interact with people of different religions today? What would His disposition be towards someone of a different faith? What has been your personal experiences with people of a different religion? What is something you learned from them? Is it possible to love someone and disagree on fundamental truths in your life? Why or why not? How might you create space in the community where you live, work, and play for respectful dialogue?

There is a distinct calling on the life of those who follow Jesus. We are called to be "Different," but what does that mean exactly? It means that we have a different faith, different mindset, different values, different calling, and different perspective no matter what we face in this life. In the first message from our Different Series we take a look at what a different faith in trials looks like and what God intends to do with the trials that we face. We pray this message will encourage you in your walk with Christ. We would love to see you at our weekly Sunday morning gathering at 10:30 a.m. For more information about Radiance check out radiancemccomb.com

This week we kick off a new series through the book of 1st Peter. With recent events that have happened in the world it is easy to allow thoughts that disprove God's faithfulness arise. Throughout scripture there are even worse events than we've seen in our time in the world but God is always good and forever faithful. If you struggle with faith and trusting God or you just need to hear the good news of Jesus, you don't want to miss out this week as we kick off the series, Different.

What has this journey felt like to each of them? What mistakes have they have made along the way? What are some of the key moments, insights, or shifts in perspective that have allowed them to draw closer and stay committed to remaining continually open with each other? This Mormon Matters episode features a wonderful, open dialogue between Chelsea, Eric, and Heidi, held live on May 8, 2015 in the home of Mark and Elizabeth England in Salt Lake City, Utah. The evening event was the May meeting of the group "Faith Again."
