The ongoing effort to review long-ago movie stars has me talking about the dashing Tyrone Power and the beautiful Linda Darnell in The Mark Of Zorro. Gail Sondergaard and Basil Rathbone also have key roles in Rouben Mamoulian's 1940 flick. The Mexican man in black shares ties with Robin Hood and Batman, as the Z Man risks his life to rip off the rich to help out the poor. For an action movie, it's pretty muted, but it IS a good time. Then I talked for a bit about Hopalong Cassidy. The conflict is over cattle and territory, which is similar to the storyline in the 1956 Lone Ranger. Hothead Jimmy Ellison wants to fight the whole world while William Boyd kicked off a career playing the title character dozens of more times. "You're alright, kid", so put on a face covering that changes depending on your mood and settle in for this 740th podcast on Have You Ever Seen as I rattle teeth about The Mark Of Zorro and Hopalong Cassidy. The project has become a consistent presence in the local and regional music scene while maintaining a clear and recognizable sound. In 2022, Best Bear released When, which gained attention from WXPN, Radio 104.5, and a range of regional and college radio stations. A Dirtbag's Guide To Life On The Road

Joe Reinhart is what I want to be when I grow up. He's like the cool kid from down street who got into skateboarding and punk rock before everyone and was always down to teach you how to Kickflip or play the bass solo from Maxwell Murder. He's just fucking cool, and he's got a long track record of playing in cool bands (Algernon Cadwallader, Hop Along, Dogs on Acid) and helping other cool bands (Joyce Manor, Dr. Dog, Charles Ellsworth) make rad records. This was a fun conversation to revisit, and really made me want to hang out with Joe agin. I hope you all enjoy it! If you'd like to support our show directly please head on over to our Patreon. Buy a record, or a t-shirt, or a hoodie at Bandcamp. If you'd like to listen to some of my music, you can do that on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube. Thanks for listening! Please subscribe and share A Dirtbag's Guide with your friends, family & fellow Dirtbags. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/adirtbagsguide/support

Ned and Josh talk about how the mechanics make such a perfect thematic fit for this race, and how these abilities support both those who want to min-max, and those who want to even out their weaknesses. • • • Patreon: patreon.com/ICastFireball20 Twitter / Instagram: @ICastFireball20 Facebook: @ICastFireball2020 Email: ICastFireball2020@gmail.com Donations: ko-fi.com/icastfireball20 • • • AUDIO CREDITS Background Music was created using the "Marimbas" soundscape found at Mynoise.net And as always a HUGE thank you to Hayden Allred for our amazing theme music!
