Steve sits down with Congressman Bill Huizenga (R‑MI) to break down the latest bold moves on the world stage and what they mean for everyday Americans. They discuss President Trump's designation of the Venezuelan regime as a “foreign terrorist organization” and the subsequent naval blockade of oil tankers, efforts Republicans say target drug cartels and the flow of deadly narcotics into the United States amid rising overdose deaths. They also explore America's healthcare and insurance struggles, from rising premiums to why simple subsidy increases won't solve the root problems facing patients and families.

Most founders say they want a smarter team, but they keep handing their people training that makes them dumb.In this episode of Founder Talk, I sit down with Erin Huizenga, founder of Desk Light and author of Learning in the Wild, to break down how to build a team of relentless learners and why that is one of the fastest ways to grow a business.Erin shares why most workplace learning fails. It is punitive, boring, and designed like compliance instead of a real product. She argues that if your learning experience is not something employees want to come back to, you are not training a team, you are burning time. We talk about how to make learning craveable, human-centered, and designed for how adults actually learn. We also explore the real business upside. Better learning is not a “nice to have.” It is a growth engine. It drives retention, sharper execution, faster upskilling, and a culture where people keep improving even when you are not in the room. Erin outlines what a real learning ecosystem looks like, not a one-off course, but a system that links onboarding, micro-learning, mentorship, reflection, and real-world practice.Erin also explains how AI fits into this future. Not as a replacement for thinking, but as a “dance partner” that supports creativity and recall. The companies that win will be the ones who help their teams learn how to learn, not the ones who dump more content into a portal. You'll learn: ✅ Why most employee training does not work ✅ How to design learning people actually want ✅ What makes adults learn faster and retain more ✅ How learning culture drives retention and business scale ✅ How to build a learning ecosystem, not a checkbox program ✅ Where AI helps teams grow, and where it hurts ✅ Why “craveable learning” beats compliance every timeIf you want to scale without becoming the bottleneck, this episode is your blueprint. Building a team of relentless learners is not just about education. It is about building a company that keeps getting better on purpose.Connect with Erin Huezinga:Guest LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/erinhuizenga/Guest Website: https://desklightlearning.com/If you are a B2B company that wants to build your own in-house content team instead of outsourcing your content to a marketing agency, we may be a fit for you! Sen. Mark Huizenga, R-Walker. New bipartisan legislation to provide free blood testing for children in areas impacted by PFAS contamination
Michigan Republican Rep. Bill Huizenga on Tuesday confirmed that he is interested in potentially running for the U.S. Senate in 2026. "I am," Huizenga answered when asked if he was considering running for the Senate on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "You know, this was not necessarily on my radar screen when I started this." Huizenga represents Michigan's Fourth Congressional District and has been serving in office since 2011. He said that he is considering a Senate run because President Donald Trump needs allies in the upper chamber. Huizenga said he believes that in the midterm elections, Republicans could keep the House and the Senate if they do the work of getting the budget reconciliation process in place and get the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act reinstated. Later, Claire Lopez, a former CIA operations officer and founder of Lopez Liberty LLC, discusses President Trump's upcoming trip to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE. Claire shares insights into the implications of this trip on international relations, particularly regarding the Abraham Accords and the potential for new peace deals in the Middle East. Finally, it's AMAC Wednesday, and AMAC spokesman and Maine Gubernatorial candidate Bobby Charles provides his unique insights on the issues of the day. Young people have rejected the "trust the science" mentality of older generations, paving the way for acceptance of the concept of "Make America Healthy Again," according to a holistic doctor in Grand Rapids, Michigan. "I grew up in an era of thinking if it was that bad for us, it really shouldn't be put in our foods, and I'm sure the government wouldn't allow that," Dr. Tammy Born Huizenga, who owns and operates a preventive health care clinic, told The Daily Signal in an interview. "And it turns out they were allowing it. And your generation is like, 'I'm not sure I'm gonna trust the government in making all these decisions for me.'" Nearly 60% of Americans have heard about Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s "Make American Healthy Again" agenda, and the majority have a favorable view of the movement, which involves promoting healthier ingredients in foods, healthier school lunches, reducing the use of food dyes and corn syrup, and eliminating fluoride from tap water. The COVID-19 pandemic brought the problems with American health care into focus, Huizenga said. Tune in to find out what happens next: Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
