Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they celebrate a major MS-13 gang leader's arrest, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin's veto spree against a lot of lousy bills passed by Democrats, and a Texas congressman exposing NPR CEO Katherine Maher's radical views using her own words.First, they break down the FBI's arrest of the top MS-13 leader on the East Coast during an early morning raid in Virginia and carried out with federal, state, and local cooperation. Jim and Greg applaud the move, hoping more gang members are soon locked up or deported. And they are encouraged to see the Justice Department and FBI making this a priority. Then they stay in Virginia, where Gov. Youngkin recently vetoed nearly 160 bills from the Democrat-controlled legislature. The rejected measures covered gun control, a minimum wage hike, restricted speech outside abortion clinics, and a sweeping “environmental justice” agenda, among others. With a governor's race looming, Jim warns that Democrats will push these policies into law if they perform well in November. Finally, they enjoy Texas Rep. Brandon Gill's grilling of NPR CEO Katherine Maher. Gill methodically exposes Maher's extreme views on reparations, looting, and other issues—simply by quoting her own past statements. Please visit our great sponsors:This show is sponsored by BetterHelp. Jim and Greg serve up all good martinis on 3 Martini Lunch as they break down President Trump's executive order banning men from women's sports, Attorney General Pam Bondi cutting off funding for sanctuary cities, and Democrats' electoral shenanigans backfiring in multiple states.First, they cheer Trump for signing an executive order to keep men out of women's sports, regardless of how those men "identify." They highlight America's overwhelming support for the move despite years of media narratives suggesting otherwise. They also note that even left-wing figures like tennis legend Martina Navratilova admit Democrats just handed Trump a major campaign weapon for 2024.Next, they applaud U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi for cutting off Justice Department funding to self-proclaimed sanctuary cities. Jim compares this to the transgender sports debate, emphasizing that the left ignores just how strongly Americans want criminal illegals out of the country and illegal immigration to stop. Finally, they take satisfaction in Democrats' political stunts likely failing in Minnesota and New York. In Minnesota, Democrats stalled state house business because Republicans temporarily hold a one-seat majority, but after weeks of dysfunction, a power-sharing agreement is finally taking shape. Meanwhile, New York Democrats appear to be retreating from an effort to delay a special election to replace GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik, which would have prolonged the razor-thin Republican majority in the U.S. HousePlease visit our great sponsors:Betterhelphttps://BetterHelp.com/3MLDiscover your relationship green flags and get 10% off your first month at BetterHelp.com/3MLNetsuitehttps://NetSuite.com/MARTINISee what is next for your business with the CFO's Guide to AI and Machine Learning free when you go to NetSuite.com/MARTINI. With Republicans struggling to spin Donald Trump's pardon of 1,500 rioters who attacked the Capitol, CNN anchor Jim Acosta had a remarkable exchange with GOP Rep. Tim Burchett over the insurrection. Acosta refused to let the MAGA lawmaker evade how horrific Jan. 6 really was, and pinned him down on whether Trump was justified in pardoning people who savagely attacked cops. Why isn't there more media questioning of Republicans like this? Would it make a difference if there were? We chatted with Matt Gertz of Media Matters about why the right wing media propaganda apparatus may be winning the Long War over Jan. 6, and how the media's failure to meet the moment is helping to make it happen.
