(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Utah teacher forces student to wash off Ash Wednesday cross A Utah elementary school faced backlash after a teacher told a Catholic student to remove an Ash Wednesday cross from his forehead, a symbol marking the beginning of Lent, reports WHSV TV. Fourth-grader William McLeod had attended church on Ash Wednesday and arrived at Valley View Elementary School in Bountiful, Utah wearing a traditional ash cross.  He said classmates initially questioned him about it, unaware that the ash cross marked the beginning of Jesus' 40 days in the wilderness before the beginning of His three-year ministry. The boy recalled his teacher asking, “What is that?” He replied, “It's Ash Wednesday. It's the first day of Lent.” She said, “No, it's inappropriate. Go take it off.” In front of his peers, she gave the child a wipe and told him to clean his forehead. McLeod said, “I felt really bad.” His grandmother said he was embarrassed and upset, saying he later went to see the school psychologist “crying.” The Davis School District issued a formal apology, saying the teacher's actions were unacceptable. A spokesman said, “No student should ever be asked or required to remove an ash cross from his or her forehead.” The teacher later apologized. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 against Trump tariffs On Friday, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 against President Donald Trump's sweeping global tariffs, striking down a central part of his economic agenda, reports The Western Journal. TRUMP: “The Supreme Court's ruling on tariffs is deeply disappointing. I'm ashamed of certain members of the court, absolutely ashamed, for not having the courage to do what's right for our country.” The case focused on tariffs President Trump imposed under a 1977 emergency powers law known as the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. He used that law to impose reciprocal tariffs on most countries beginning last year. Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the majority that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act “does not authorize the President to impose tariffs.” Associate Justice Amy Barrett and Neil Gorsuch sided with Roberts and the court's three liberals. However, Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, and Brett Kavanaugh dissented, reports the Associated Press. President Trump imposes new tariff using different authority On Truth Social, President Trump wrote, “I would like to thank and congratulate Justices Thomas, Alito, and Kavanaugh for your strength, wisdom, and love of our country, which is right now very proud of you. “When you read the dissenting opinions, there is no way that anyone can argue against them. Foreign Countries that have been ripping us off for years are ecstatic, and dancing in the streets — But they won't be dancing for long!” Kavanaugh wrote, “The decision might not substantially constrain a President's ability to order tariffs going forward. That is because numerous other federal statutes authorize the President to impose tariffs and might justify most (if not all) of the tariffs issued in this case. ... Those statutes include, for example, the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 (Section 232); the Trade Act of 1974 (Sections 122, 201, and 301); and the Tariff Act of 1930 (Section 338).” TRUMP:  “Other alternatives will now be used to replace the ones that the court incorrectly rejected. Great alternatives. Could be more money. We'll take in more money.” Inspired by Judge Brett Kavanaugh's dissent, President Trump imposed a new 10% global tariff the same day of the Supreme Court decision last Friday, using Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974, reports NewsNation. GOP Rep. Tony Gonzales had affair with aide who set herself on fire U.S. Republican Congressman Tony Gonzales of Texas engaged in a romantic relationship with an aide who died last year by setting herself on fire outside her Uvalde home, according to a text message and people close to the aide and her family, reports the San Antonio Express-News. Both she and Gonzales were married to other people at the time of the alleged affair. A former staffer in Gonzales' district office, who worked closely with the aide, Regina Ann Santos-Aviles, said she told him they had an affair in 2024, and that she spiraled into a depression after her husband discovered the relationship and Gonzales abruptly ended their affair. Exodus 20:14 says, “You shall not commit adultery.” He also shared with the San Antonio Express-News a screenshot of a text message from Regina in which she acknowledged having an “affair with our boss.” The staffer, who asked not to be named, citing a fear of retaliation, faulted Gonzales' office for failing to intervene, saying he warned the congressman's district director months before Regina's fiery suicide that he was concerned about her well-being. He described her as his “best friend” and said their families knew each other. Gonzales, a Republican representing Texas' 23rd Congressional District, is currently seeking re-election in a contested primary.  The San Antonio Express-News, which had initially endorsed Gonzales in the March 3rd Republican primary, recently withdrew its endorsement. In the Republican Primary for Congress in District 23, many South Texans are looking to support Francisco “Quico” Canseco during early voting or on Election Day, Tuesday, March 3rd. Texas bobsled gold medalist almost quit And finally, (audio of Olympics theme song) It was a couple of weeks before Christmas. Elana Meyers Taylor, age 41, was in Norway, prepping for a World Cup bobsled weekend. Things were going horribly. Her body was hurting, she wondered if she was doing right by her two deaf children, and the racing results were, well, bad, reports the San Antonio Express-News. So, she texted her husband. The message: I'm done.  She wrote, “This is just impossible. It's never going to work.” She was 10th in the World Cup monobob standings. Eight women won medals on the circuit this winter and she wasn't one of them. Her average finish was 10th and her result during a race on the Olympic track in November was 19th — a whopping 2.43 seconds behind the winning time. FEMALE ANNOUNCER: “She had probably her worst season of monobob in her life.” Her husband, former bobsledder Nic Taylor, is now a performance coach and works with the NBA's San Antonio Spurs. When a Spurs player — the couple won't say who — learned Elana was struggling, he gifted Nic a plane ticket and told him, “Go to Norway immediately!” So, Nic flew to Norway to encourage his wife in person after those discouraging texts to talk her out of quitting.  That strengthened Elana's resolve to compete. Her husband Nick and sons, Noah and Nico, are here in the crowd. “This is a promising run for Elana Myers Taylor. It's gold for the United States, and that elusive gold medal for Eleanor Myers Taylor, is elusive no more. The most prolific female bobsledder in history.” At 41, she became the oldest woman to win an individual gold medal in Winter Games history. It was her sixth Olympic medal. She said, “I was determined to keep fighting, determined to just put down the best runs I could. And look what happened. There were so many moments during this entire season, during this past four years, that I thought it wasn't possible.” And now you know the rest of the story. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson, Timothy Reed, and Adam McManus Hong Kong man critical of Chinese Communists sentenced to 20 years In a Hong Kong court, religious freedom and free speech advocate Jimmy Lai has been sentenced to twenty years in prison for publishing articles against the communist Chinese government. Lai is a British Citizen and an adherent of the Catholic Church. World journalists are marking the case as a worldwide setback for freedom of speech and freedom of the press. The United Kingdom home office has responded to the news. The Hong Kong Free Press reports that “British national status holders will be able to immigrate into the U.K. with their children. The office estimates that 26,000 people will arrive in the U.K. over the next five years.” Thousands of Tanzanians murdered Political upheaval, tyranny, and blood in the streets is the order of the day in Tanzania over the last few months.  Some reports have revealed the government of President Samia Suluhu Hassan killed thousands of Tanzanians. Hassan is a Muslim who was re-elected in a landslide victory last October, marred by accusations of massive fraud.  That's when the African country was plunged into chaos and rioting.  The bloodshed and terror has gone on for months, reports The Washington Stand. In an effort to conceal the atrocities taking place there, the government has reportedly shut down the internet. Tanzania is at least nominally Christian with a 57 percent Christian population and a 37 percent Muslim population, as the Muslim creep hits south Saharan Africa. Christian martyrdom grows with Muslim population in Nigeria Islamic influence is growing in Nigeria as well — a nation where 56 percent of the population is Muslim and 43 percent is Christian. This has resulted in the martyrdom of 50,000 Christians and the displacement of millions of Christians from their homeland.   Pray for our Christian brothers and sisters and the people of Tanzania, Nigeria, and Uganda.  Civilian killings continue in Nigeria Last Tuesday, almost 200 Nigerians were killed by gunmen in the communities of Woro and Katsina, reports the International Center for Transitional Justice. Woro is located in the western Nigerian state of Kwara, while Katsina is in the northern region of the country. Psalm 35:1 says, “Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.” War Department will no longer work with Harvard War Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the War Department will no longer send military officers to Harvard. He slammed the university for what he called its support of terrorism and the Chinese Communist Party.   Hegseth said, “Too many of our officers came back looking too much like Harvard — heads full of globalist and radical ideologies that do not improve our fighting ranks.” The War Department is set to re-evaluate all Ivy League school partnerships.  Virginia Democrats unveil gerrymandered congressional map Democrat lawmakers in Virginia put forward a new congressional map heading into the midterm elections this November. The Old Dominion state map heavily favors Democrats, giving them four extra seats, while the Republicans would lose four seats. This comes after the Supreme Court ruled that the new congressional map for California was valid, giving Democrats five additional seats. Virginia Democrats swept the last election, winning races for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General.  All told, gerrymandering in Virginia, California, and a few other states should yield the Democrats an additional 5 to 9 seats in Congress in 2026. And gerrymandering in Texas, North Carolina, and Missouri could yield the Republicans an additional 6 to 10 seats in the upcoming election. Connecticut works to expand abortion access Connecticut is launching a billboard campaign to promote abortion and death, reports LifeSiteNews. The campaign, sponsored by the Reproductive Equity Now Foundation, is advertising the state's commitment to make the killing of unborn children more accessible. Billboards will announce a state-provided pro-abortion hotline.  Connecticut Democrat Attorney General William Tong talked about his state's culture of death. He said, “Abortion is safe, legal and accessible here in Connecticut, and that's the way it's going to stay.”  But Proverbs 31:9 instructs us to “Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.” GOP Rep chastises NBC & NFL for Bad Bunny's foul lyrics And finally, Sunday's Super Bowl half-time show turned into one big leftist political statement with Benito Ocasio, known as Bad Bunny, and a few other characters, who openly opposed President Trump's “America First” policies.   To his shame, the Puerto Rican singer sang a bunch of foul-mouthed, sexually-explicit lyrics in Spanish. Republican Congressman Randy Fine of Florida did not pull any punches in his X post. He wrote, “You can't say the f-word on live TV. Bad Bunny's disgusting halftime show was illegal. Had he said these lyrics -- and all of the other disgusting and pornographic filth -- in English on live TV, the broadcast would have been pulled down and the fines would have been enormous. “We are sending FCC Chairman Brendan Carr a letter calling for dramatic action, including fines and broadcast license reviews, against the NFL, NBC, and Bad Bunny. Lock them up.” You can send a short 2-4 sentence letter to FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, urging him to levy these fines.  The address is Federal Communications Commission, 45 L Street NE, Washington, DC 20554. Kid Rock, on Turning Point USA's half-time show, pointed to Christ Meanwhile, Turning Point USA, founded by the late Charlie Kirk, simulcast their alternative “All-American Halftime Show” featuring Robert Ritchie known as Kid Rock. Some 20 to 30 million Americans tuned in, reports Fox News. Kid Rock threw in another verse to the hit song “Til You Can't.” Check out the lyrics. KID ROCK: “There's a book a'sitting in your house somewhere that could use some dusting off . . . There's a man who died for all our sins a'hanging from the cross. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Iran Int'l News reports 36,500 protestors killed by Islamic regime As The Worldview reported yesterday, the latest report of the death count for the recent Iranian protests is now at 36,500, according to Iran International News.   (audio of Iranian officials shooting unarmed protestors) This information reportedly comes from Interior Ministry documents. The government carried out 4,000 clashes at various locations around the country over a two-day period earlier in the month. Iran's Health Ministry also revealed that the hospitals in the country performed 13,000 surgeries following the protests. Iran's internet blackout is going into its 19th day today.  Iran International also reports that government officials are still carrying out “extrajudicial killings, deaths under torture, and the systematic mistreatment of detainees and their families.” Several of our sources have reported multiple Christians killed in the conflict.  Communist Chinese president purged military generals China's President and Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping has completed his purge of military generals, beginning with top brass Zhang Youxia and at least 17 other generals, reports NTDTV.com. The Economist called this “the largest political purge of the military's top ranks since Mao Zedong's death in 1976.” Assaults on ICE officers increased by 1,300% in 2025 over 2024 Public protests are increasing in the United States. Last year, the Crowd Counting Consortium counted 10,700 protests in the U.S. That's a 133% increase over 2024. So far this month, there have been 628 protests, the largest of which have centered in Minnesota, Illinois, and California. Disturbingly, the protests have increased in violence. The Department of Homeland Security recently reported a 1,300% increase in assaults against I.C.E. officers in 2025 (over the previous year), and a 3,200% increase in vehicular attacks. Rest assured, where human justice may fail, Ecclesiastes 12:14 assures us that “God shall bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether it be good or whether it be evil.” Shooting death of Minneapolis man sparks gun control debate The January 24th fatal shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis by law enforcement has sparked a debate on gun control. Apparently, the protester was armed at the time of his encounter with the I.C.E. agent. Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli took to X, commenting that, "If you approach law enforcement with a gun, there is a high likelihood they will be legally justified in shooting you."  However, the pro-gun group, the National Rifle Association, said, "Responsible public voices should be awaiting a full investigation, not making generalizations and demonizing law-abiding citizens.” Plus, Gun Owners for America noted, "The Second Amendment protects Americans' right to bear arms while protesting ‒ a right the federal government must not infringe upon." GOP Rep. Thomas Massie and Barack Obama weigh in on ICE killing GOP U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky also jumped into the fray. He said, ”Carrying a firearm is not a death sentence;  it's a Constitutionally-protected, God-given right. And, if you don't understand this, you have no business in law enforcement or government." No comment from the liberal media on Mr. Pretti's choice to carry a gun to the protest. Then, former President Barack Obama took to X on Sunday to encourage the American public to “support and draw inspiration from” what he calls “the peaceful protests in Minneapolis.” Satan worshippers thank Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz Speaking of Minnesota, Republican State Representative Pam Altendorf revealed on video a disturbing display recognizing Satan in the state Capitol. ALTENDORF: “As I was leaving my committee meeting today here earlier, I noticed that there is a new display here at the State Capitol, and it's for Governor [Tim] Walz.” The inscription says, “The Democratic Coalition of Satan Worshippers thanks Gov. Tim Walz for not standing in the way of spreading Satanism in the state Capitol building.” Rep. Altendorf concluded with this. ALTENDORF: “Yes, everyone, this is true. I am live, not making this up. You can't make this up. (laughs) I don't know why a governor of a state would want this plaque, but there it is. “The Satan worshipers have thanked Governor Tim Walz, and let me repeat this.  The last line says, ‘Satan has a special place for you.' I'm speechless.” In Exodus 20:3, God revealed to Moses atop Mt. Sinai, “You shall have no other gods before Me.” Charismatic leader accused of “fabricated” prophecies and sexual sin The charismatic church is taking more hits from reports concerning alleged scandalous activities of a homosexual nature. Shawn Bolz was platformed by Bethel over a period of ten years.  Bethel leadership now admits to have continued platforming Bolz despite their knowing of his “fabricated” prophecies and alleged sexual sin, reports CBN News. Multiple Christian news organizations have headlined this new revelation in an ongoing series of scandals in the evangelical/charismatic church involving Bill Hybels, Carl Lentz, Mike Bickel, Brian Houston, T.D. Jakes, Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, and Jimmy Swaggart.  The deluge of scandals has taken its toll on the nation. Public trust in pastors here is now the lowest in recorded history. According to Lifeway Research, only 27% of Americans say they have a high trust in pastors, down from an average of 56% between 2000 and 2009. Here's a reminder from 1 Corinthians 11:31 and 32. “If we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.  But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.” Gold and silver prices soar Gold and silver prices continue to soar. Now, $5,100 per ounce for gold, up from $2,600 just a year ago, reports Reuters. And silver today is $110 per pounce, up from $30 a year ago. 36 states consider anti-transgender bills And finally, at last count, 36 state governments are floating 366 bills which would put the brakes on the advance of “transgender rights,” limit the public display of drag queens, and allow religious exemptions for churches, schools, and businesses that are morally opposed to homosexuality and transgenderism. Today's Headlines: A CIA-trained Afghan asylum recipient shot two National Guard members in DC—one fatally—prompting Trump to announce (on his little app) a “pause” on all migration from “third world countries”. The administration is now freezing asylum and Afghan visas while somehow avoiding the question of why the National Guard is still posted in DC at all. Meanwhile, the Trump team is escalating its hunt for “sedition,” with the FBI now interviewing the six Democratic veterans who reminded troops not to follow illegal orders. And in the Department of Defense (War), Pete Hegseth allegedly ordered a second strike to kill survivors of a botched boat attack—something even a few Senate Republicans have decided is maybe a bridge too far. Trump also pardoned former Honduran president and convicted drug trafficker Juan Orlando Hernández, who immediately went home like it was checkout time at Club Fed. On the Ukraine front, Rubio, Kushner, and Steve Witkoff are still trying to spin their “peace plan,” which reporting suggests was always just a giant business deal in disguise. The drama deepened when Zelensky's chief-of-staff Andriy Yermak resigned after a corruption raid and announced he's headed to the front lines. In other news, the families of Americans killed or injured on Oct. 7 are suing Binance for allegedly helping fund Hamas and other militant groups—just weeks after Trump pardoned Binance's founder. Over in Israel, Netanyahu is trying to get a presidential pardon mid-trial because sure, why the heck not. Additionally, hundreds of New Yorkers blocked what looked like an ICE raid with their bodies and literal piles of garbage bags, Senate Republicans are gearing up to fight basic car-safety rules, and RFK Jr. just ditched asbestos testing for talc cosmetics because…MAHA. (The Center Square) – Illinois House and Senate leaders are touting legislation they say will protect people from federal immigration enforcement, but the House Republican floor leader says the bill could have unintended consequences and expose many people to civil liability.
