Sam and Aaron Taylor-Johnson's 24-year age gap defies all societal and gender norms. They met and fell in love when Sam—a 42-year-old, newly divorced mother of two—made her directorial debut with the film “Nowhere Boy,” starring an up-and-coming, 18-year-old Aaron. Within a year, they were engaged and expecting, and 15 years later, still seem genuinely happy against all odds and expectations. Is age really just a number? This controversial couple defies all the social constructs we're comfortable with. With Aaron being only a few years older than his adopted “daughter,” we can't help but bring up the Cullens and our weird, complicated Sims families. ***** This is a teaser for a bonus episode. On this episode of RaboTalk's Growing our future, host Katie Rodwell is joined by Adam and Laura Cullen. Adam and Laura own and operate a 220-ha dairy farm in Kaipara, focusing on maintaining profitability while farming regeneratively and responsibly. This episode focuses on using soil health to create financial value, looking for wins outside of the numbers, and how they're changing the game from within their farm gate. Katie, Adam, and Laura discuss leaving the land in a better state for their children, their goal of a carbon-neutral farm, and managing the setbacks that come with farming. Laura shares her love for involving the birds and trees into their day-to-day operations; farming true to your values; letting data lead the way when planning for the future; and sustainability through people, the environment, and the business. Adam outlines their strategies for targeting better soil health; the performance they've seen since investing in the environment around them; and fostering pride and resilience throughout the rural community. Together, they look towards 2050, with the opportunity to support new generations of innovation and energy across the sector.

Greetings to all creatures of the night, sparkly sentient marble statues, and supernatural dogs. If Twilight is your Roman Empire, you're in the right place. The gay gods give their most challenging tasks to their strongest sapphics. Do you know how hard it is for a gaggle of lesbians to analyze Twilight for an hour and a half and not talk about K-Stew? We are fully committed to continuing to stand in solidarity with the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike and for this reason we will be chatting about the books alone and leaving the movies for another time, loca. This week, Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) hang out with K-Ming Chang (@kmingchang), vampire ethnographer and author of Bestiary, Gods of Want and recently released fantasy novel Organ Meats, to talk about why the Twilight book series Should've Been Gay. We dive into everything from the inherent queerness of forbidden romance to Alice's futch haircut and Bella's love affair with her rusty red truck. Whether you stand with Team Edward, Team Jacob(ina), Team Alice, or choose to go the enemies to lovers route with Rosalie, we have you covered. If you're like Leigh and somehow managed to avoid everything Twilight, here is a super speedy breakdown of what you need to know. The story revolves around Bella, a flannel-wearing, car-obsessed queer teenager who moves to the Pacific Northwest and immediately falls for Edward, a guy who is basically like if one of those marble statues in Florence could talk. We do not talk enough about the “I'm not like other girls” to “Oh, I'm a lesbian” pipeline, but Bella fits right into this category. She is portrayed as quirky, not caring about makeup or clothes, getting along best with boys over girls, and being a complete enigma to Edward (who can read everyone else's thoughts but hers). Bella's best friend is Jacob(ina). Back in the day girls everywhere were freaking out and fighting with their besties over who was the better pick for Bella between cold, mysterious vampire Edward and playful, warmblooded wolfboy Jacob. But listener, there were other options all along! Edward belongs to a chosen family called the Cullens and his ‘sister' Alice loves Bella instantly due to seeing her in a vision. She then takes it upon herself to watch over Bella, keeping her safe and dressing her up like her own personal Barbie doll. She even plans Bella's birthday party and wedding! In an alternate universe, this would surely play out like a romcom where Alice finally confesses her feelings on the day of the wedding and Bella realizes that she was actually in love with Alice the entire time. While Alice has an immediate bond with Bella, Edward's other ‘sister' Rosalie, does not. In fact, Rosalie goes out of her way to be as cold as possible to Bella for quite a long time, resentful and jealous of her ability to potentially have a normal life and a family of her own. But if we approach this through a queer lens, it can very easily turn into an enemies to lovers relationship, with Rosalie warming up to Bella little by little. We know one thing for sure, Twilight Should've Been Gay. Hello everyone! You should know that I thought this episode was slightly dull. I will say that the podcast is anything but. Some Guy in Austin and I tend to go off-roading with our thoughts when the storylines are a little too predictable, and today's recording showcases how we are masters of tangents. While discussing Brayden's Zero Dark Thirty scarf and Dotun's likeability, we also deep dive into important topics, such as: Did anyone glisten in the sunlight like the Cullens? Would you rather skydive or bungee jump? Is the legend of Bigfoot also a metaphor for marriage? And what do we think about Gerry the Golden Bachelor? I personally think Gerry's season is going to be epic. Bring on the Polygrip and shuffleboard! EPISODE NOTES: Click HERE to read my Bachelorette Charity recap from Episode 4. We talk about Jessica...no not our lovely comedian guest star Jessica Collins (we wait for her to leave before talking about her), but Jessica Stanley, Bella's frenemy in "Twilight"/"Midnight Sun". Edward is annoyed that she finds him hot, even though literally every other girl feels the same way. Edward continues to broil in his hanger as Bella's stank torments him further; he even pulverizes a chair over it. Also, the guests compare the Cullens to the hit TV show, "Jersey Shore"

Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi and Thrasher, and Alex Miller discuss Breaking Dawn Part 2, the fifth and final film in the Twilight Saga as of this recording. Starring Billy Burke, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart. Old vampires fight new vampires and some of them laugh silly and some of them can make leaves float. Showing a momentum much of the series lacked, Breaking Dawn Part 2 shows the ancient Volturi planning an assault against the Cullens and their friends in order to get their hands on Bella and Edward's human-vampire hybrid child. There's some fun and absurdity at the start, and even a nice battle scene with notes of Lord of the Rings near the end. A bit long in the tooth, but so is the whole Twilight franchise. Art Cullen is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and editor of The Storm Lake Times. It's a family-run paper in small town Iowa. There's a great documentary called Storm Lake(2021) about the Cullens and the paper that I highly recommend. He's kinda become THE go-to expert on the Iowa Caucuses, and a recent op-ed about the Caucuses in the New York Timesprompted me to finally reach out and ask him to be on the show. This guy is a hero to many Iowans and I hope you enjoy it. This was also conducted at 7am Los Angeles time, so it's also an example of me talking to a person exponentially smarter than me, while I'm also awake before I want to be.

How do things that don't have light get by? Just fine, it seems. But our wounded characters have a second fight on their hands before they get a real chance to rest. It's okay, though: The Cullens are here to save the Bat Men. (The accuracy of that summary doesn't make it hurt less to write.) Check us out at @RadTheatre! Welcome to Ti20 Game Balls Episode 4! In this episode, GoTigers247 hands out game balls from the 44-34 win over North Texas to punter Joe Doyle, defensive end Jaylon Allen and linebacker Xavier Cullens. In the first segment, punter Joe Doyle receives the first game ball. Joe punted 8 times for 400 yards and 3 punts downed within the opponents' 10-yard line. Joe talks with GT247 about his 2021 season with the Tigers that found him having to assume field goal kicking duties as well as the punter role. He also shares his approach during a game when he knows that he will play a big role in helping flip the field for the defense. Most football fans do not want to see a punter play a big role in a game, so how does Joe handle the pressure of having to come into the game after a disappointing offense possession? Joe explains the mechanics of punting a ball down to the opponents' goal line and what preparation goes into knowing yardage and wind. In the second segment, defensive end Jaylon Allen receives the second game ball. This is Jaylon's 2nd game ball received from GoTigers247 this year. Jaylon ended the game with 2 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack, and 1 interception returned for a touchdown. Jaylon talks about what he saw in the pass play that he intercepted, and how he knew he would score once he caught the ball. He also shares his thoughts on where the defense is at this point in the year. He wants to see the Tigers' defense finish games the way they started. He believes the defense gets a bit lax at the end of games, and allows teams to score silly points at the end of the game. In the third segment, linebacker Xavier Cullens receives the third game ball. Xavier ended the game with 8 tackles, 4 solo, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 interception returned for a touchdown. Xavier talks about when he knew the Tigers' defense would be successful against UNT on Saturday. He also shares that the Tigers need to continue to communicate well on the field and how if they shore up their tackling game, he knows they can have a very successful year on the defensive end. In this episode of Off the Boards, senior Tiger linebacker Xavier "Zay" Cullens joins the show. Zay has been with the program since 2017 and starts the show discussing his time at the University of Memphis and his love for the city of Memphis. He describes the relationships he's built with Memphis and how his love for the city and their love for him has fueled his desire to come back and finish out his career here at the University of Memphis. He described the relationship he's built specifically with Quindell Johnson, Coach Hankins, and Ryan Silverfield as huge motivations for him coming back instead of searching out other opportunities. Zay discusses his time at Memphis and how much he has grown. He describes how much he has grown in his mindset, maturity and in knowledge of how to physically prepare for a football season. Zay's diet and stretching regime has become a vital part of his active recovery as he has gotten older while at Memphis. Zay discusses the 2021 season and broke down some of the positive and negatives that he took into the offseason this year. Zay shares that his goal for the defense this year is to communicate better, watch more film together and finish strong during each game and the season. In the second segment, Zay shares his thoughts on new defensive coordinator, Matt Barnes, and the transition to a Barnes' led defense. Zay discusses his thoughts on whether or not the defense could possibly lag behind the offense at the beginning of the year. He shares that watching film and listening to Coach Barnes' teaching helps each individual player understand their role. Zay describes how he has assumed a leadership role and what his definition of "leadership" is. He believes that leadership is less about yelling and screaming but more so about holding others accountable and communicating clearly will help motivate younger guys to follow his example on and off the field. How dangerous are The Cullens ACTUALLY? How dangerous is The Loch Ness Monster ACTUALLY? Jackson is sick in this one, give him a break. Sam and Ny regroup after some time off to watch Breaking Dawn part 2 and finally get some closure on this vampiric saga. With glitter orgasms, racial stereotypes and an “it was all a dream” twist, find out once and for all what happens to the Cullens.
Twilight chapter 6/Midnight Sun chapter 7 We're back with another pair of split chapters this week! Bella is off to the beach with her school friends and learns some disturbing facts about the Cullens; Edward, meanwhile, is at home with his weird family composing tunes and hunting mountain lions. We've got lots to discuss, and it's a real range: from prose and chess rules all the way to racism and cultural imperialism, and much more in between. Oh, and of course, we tally up Edward's boyfriend points. Has he improved, or is he still fouling as if the refs aren't watching? Finally, we poke around ancient Pottermore lore to compare Twilight vampires to HP vampires--and end with truly one of the most diabolical quizzes we've ever taken!
We embark on a journey to understand the vampire memory — why are the Cullens' vampire memories so clear and their human memories so foggy? In this episode, Hannah explains the basics of how the brain remembers and forgets. Plus, Paige and Hannah wax poetic about the unsexy nature of psychology definitions, and then they get a little sappy. Why Bella is so obsessed with how Edward smells in the books. We're getting into pheromones y'all: what makes them different from body odor and is that why vampires smell so good (and why Bella smells so good to vampires)? Why is all of Eclipse just everyone telling everyone else that they smell so bad? Plus, divergences to discuss the pressing matter of shipping possibilities among the Cullens. Hello. A bunch of movie news brought up including the Obi Wan Kenobi trailer, and a certain showrunner never playing a game that they're making a series about. Also Daniel Radcliffe doesn't want to be in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child? That's okay because the movie's only an idea. Speaking of movies, The Batman is a super long one, and for some reason there's no intermission in it. That's okay, I like watching Edward Cullen fight crime. In other news, Gaspar discovered a new mobile card game, based off the Witcher, Gwent. Stay tuned to see him play on his youtube channel, gaspar_the_creature. I also have my own gaming channel, Kwonisgaming. I might play it. Thank you for the support. We have an Instagram, @filmkrew7.
We're taking a little break this week, so enjoy a rambling conversation about what would happen if the Cullens joined the Avengers, featuring Hannah's Marvel prowess and the political philosophy of immortal beings which culminates in a touch of Percy Jackson.
