Myers was the second official charged in the scheme. Domenick DeMuro, a Democratic ward chairman in that city, admitted in a plea deal that he had "fraudulently stuffed the ballot box by literally standing in a voting booth and voting over and over, as fast as he could, while he thought the coast was clear," ptoecutors said. DeMuro allegedly had a network of clients who paid him significant sums of money to rig elections over several years. At least one, and perhaps as many as 15, non-citizens may have voted in the 2018 election. White’s office says the problem has been fixed. “We view it as a significant problem,” Matt Dietrich of the Illinois State Board Of Elections said at the time. Alabama Absentee Fraud . In 2019, former Gordon, Ala., Mayor Elbert Melton was convicted of absentee ballot fraud in a mayoral race he won by just 16 votes.  Melton was sentenced recently to one year in prison and two years of probation after his conviction on charges of absentee ballot fraud and second-degree theft of property. Pay-to-Vote Scheme exposed in New Jersey. New Jersey real estate developer Frank Raia, 67, a Democrat, was convicted in 2019 of overseeing a scheme to pay low-income residents in Hoboken’s subsidized housing $50 for their votes in the 2013 election. All Cops Do Criminal Profiling

Tactical Blue TV

https://youtu.be/2Qi1R7ZwNjo Some of you cops are becoming softer! Yes, weaker against injustice and Criminal Profiling.  All these events happening around the nation are encouraging some of you to speak out. The Minneapolis in-custody death sparked outrage among the public.  I have seen some "Celebrity" cops post snapshot photos of the in-custody death demanding justice. As a result, I haven't posted anything because I don't have all the facts to make an accurate and unbiased conclusion.  George Floyd's full video doesn't present all the criminal facts.  Yes, some of you are already biased against this case. Some of you are already biased against other cases!  The Truth About The Case The truth about the case is that we don't know the truth. The probable cause affidavit was released to the public.  I would like to say the affidavit highlights all the details about the case, including what happened to George Floyd.  However, the affidavit is less than two pages long! I write longer criminal affidavits for public intoxication. I can see the reasoning behind expediting the arrest of former Officer Derek Chauvin.  The city and police leaders in Minneapolis want to stop the destruction of their city.  https://twitter.com/CityMinneapolis/status/1267560805609943041?s=20 https://twitter.com/mkultranews/status/1268000981356183552?s=20 In summary, does rushing a case hurt the defendant's or the victim's case? In fact, Charging Documents Suggest A Thin Case In Floyd Murder Charges.   YOU ARE BIASED!  Some of you are already crying and protesting about the subheading.  Unfortunately, whether you like it or not, you are biased. Let me explain why.  Some of you who posted early on about the case don't know what you did. From now on, you'll have a biased view.  Even so, you didn't have any facts before the probable cause affidavit was published. You let your emotions and the media encourage you to post and speak your mind.  You Are Biased You are going to hurt victims, no matter the race, sex, or belief. Your criminal profiling will be weak. Consequentially, you'll be biased against suspects.  In the world of policing, you only have three types of people, law-abiding citizens, victims, and suspects.  You see how I didn't use the word criminals. Criminals are the people who been through the court system, and they were found guilty of their crimes.  You can't be labeling people out there as criminals. Without a doubt, you'll have a clouded judgment when they become the victims.  Weak criminal profiling comes from the fact you don't want to press harder and might have to use force to find the truth of your cases.  Criminal Profiling Vs. Racial Profiling These two terms are one of the most basic teachings of policing. Policing 101 dictates law enforcement officers must never use racial profiling.  Nevertheless, criminal profiling is a tool we must use every day during our tour of duty.  Racial profiling is the use of race or ethnicity as grounds for suspecting someone of having committed an offense. That's a big NO, NO!  On the other hand, criminal profiling uses the facts of the incident to make an intelligent or methodical conclusion.  These are some of the factors encompassed in criminal profiling: The time of the day when the crime was committed The number of reports of the same crime in a specific area Any suspicious people or vehicles based on the first two factors Prior knowledge of the criminal activity in the region by beat cops Investigative intel or other factors which contribute to the overall crime map The use of these and other factors encompasses criminal profiling. None of the critical points mentioned above use race or ethnicity as a factor.  The Problem With Posting Your Opinion Before The Facts Although you might want to sound reasonable and encouraging of the public opinion, facts are facts.  By posting individual opinions on your social media, you already demonstrated a criminal biased against former Officer Chauvin. His chances of a fair trial are gone.  Just like everyone else, they will convict him no matter what.  Thus, your biases are going to affect his case, but not in the lower courts where the verdict is guilty. Therefore, in his appeal process. Probably all the way to the supreme court.  Hence, the justices will ignore all the noise and see if the charges brought up against him are legal.  They will test every single definition of murder and manslaughter against the state's penal code. They will examine the policies and procedures of the Minneapolis Police Department.  If the test fails, he either will go free or get another trial with more appropriate charges. Then we are back on square one.  Your Biases Hurts Victims Now, let me switch to what this article is about. One thing I hate about other law enforcement officers is that fact they take one side. We aren't here to chose one side or the other.  We are here to make sure the law is enforced. No buts or ifs… Enough said.  Crime Is Our Only Enemy Any crime is our real enemy, not people.  Crime doesn't practice one specific religion. Evil isn't a particular person or race.  Crime is everywhere, happening at this moment, in every corner of this planet.  From now on, your traffic stops will not be the same. You'll have this case in the back of your mind.  You know what? You'll hurt people!  I'm not talking about unjustified use of force or killing someone innocent.  You'll hurt your partner because your weak criminal profiling thoughts will discourage you from looking further for a crime. You will confuse criminal profiling as racial profiling.  You'll miss that gun, killing your partner because you didn't want to be seen as a "racist." You'll hurt the victim because you'll fail to ask suspect questions that might seem "discriminatory."  Think about how your career will change from now on because you couldn't wait for the facts.  Your job is to find the facts!  In every call for service, you must find the facts! Making assumptions about cases or calls for service kills officers and victims every year!  What Really Matters! Scrolling through social media, I have seen the destruction these "peaceful" protesters are leaving behind.  Many small business owners lost everything.  Three months of pandemic business revenue losses. Now, they attempt to open their businesses to find their building and goods on fire.  Who are we really hurting here? Ourselves, we are killing ourselves.  VICTIMS ARE WHAT REALLY MATTERS! The victims of any criminal episode should be what matters the most to you.  At this moment, because cops are focusing on riots and protecting the cities, you are missing out on crimes that hurt the most innocent of victims.  Human traffickers are exploiting the chaos to traffic more victims. They are moving them from state to state. To them, they aren't victims, but commodities.  Suspects are using the internet to target innocent children to make them do things they don't want. Victims are getting kidnap torture and murder.  Some of them in front of us!  Look at this brutal murder perpetrated in front of hundreds of witnesses, but no one is going to speak out.  JUSTICE FOR ALL!  Dallas Shop Owner Killed Defending His Business Why aren't you posting these in your social media accounts? Doesn't he deserve the same justice as #JusticeForFlyod?  What about this lady? Doesn't she deserve justice for her brutal attack? Every state has enhancements for handicapped victims. Isn't she a more vulnerable victim? Handicapped Woman Attacked By Rioters What about our fellow sheepdog? Does he deserve justice by finding the killer and convicting him in a court of law? I mean, he is a human being like anyone else. He is a victim, no matter the race, uniform, or profession he chose.  Dave Patrick Underwood Federal Protection Services Get Your Priorities Straight Get your Fucking priorities straight. Some of you might want to stop being cops and find another profession.  As one of my sergeants used to say, "Go Out There To Fight Crime and Suppress Evil."  Some of you can't do that!  Your priorities are to find and protect victims. Your precedences aren't to post about a case that clearly you don't know shit about.  In this case, your opinion is irrelevant and is not going to change the crazy protestor's mind.  What you need to be doing is getting close to your community. You need to be stepping out of the office and vehicle to speak with the public.  Proof of this is Officer Deon Joseph. He has demonstrated one person can influence others to change their lives. His career among the residents of Los Angeles Skid Row taught him valuable lessons. Listen to his TED Talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jUZPtsIEGI Officer Deon Joseph The people who live in poor neighborhoods have issues too. Listen to their grievances and problems.  I used to live in one of them. The drug use, fights, and crime were rampant. More people want to see you there.  Despite what the media and other people say, most residents want to have a peaceful place to rest.  When they see you enforcing what you consider insignificant or annoying calls might make the difference to them.  They aren't going to thank you. Not because they hate you, but because that puts a target on their back.  Today Is The Time To Suppress Evil Stop posting and reading about this case, go out there, and suppress evil!  Make traffic stops, ask questions, and protect victims. If you see or feel something is wrong, press harder. Forget about the "I don't want the brass or the public to see me a biased officer." If that's the mentality you have, get out! We don't need you!  We need influential minded law enforcement officers who can distinguish between right and wrong.  We need the type of officers who will find a victim of heinous crimes and do everything legally to protect them.  We need cops who will do everything in their power to do right.  We need cops who are mentally stable to understand some people are not, and they need help.  If you want to be a paper pusher, so be it. Stay inside the office, push papers, and collect your paycheck!  Don't pretend you are a cop and get someone hurt or killed. It's okay, this is a tough job, and is not for everyone.  Key Points There Are Law-Abiding Citizens, Suspects, & Criminals in our professions. There is not Black, White, Hispanic, Jew, Muslim, Handicap, etc. Your Job Is To Find The Facts Using The Law As Your Sword.  Use it effectively, with dignity, and respect for each person you interact with.  Stop Posting About Cases You Can't Control.  Clean your own house before commenting on others. Some people in neighborhoods where "police aren't welcome" want you there anyway.  They can't say it out loud because they'll put a target on their back. Fight Like A Sheepdog If you aren't fit to fight like a sheepdog, then move on This job isn't for the weak or cowards Find The Victims  Innocent people are waiting for you. Your job is to navigate through the muddy waters to find them and rescue them.  You'll get dirty, but It's worth it.  You Are Not Discriminating Whenever someone throws phrases like "You are a racist" or "You stopped me because I am [Insert your response here]," it's just an excuse.  Find the real reason why they are saying that. Some could be real prior bad experiences with police, while others could be attempting to distract you.  Believe me, it works in some jurisdictions.    Fighting Crime Isn't Discrimination. Tim has authored multiple books, with the most recent, Comeback & Beyond, being a top seller on Amazon.  In today’s conversation with us, Tim shares what motivates and inspires him and how the little steps along his journey opened the doors of opportunity to the big impact he is making today. We explore the Law of The Harvest, timeless principles of life and leadership, the difference between divine dissatisfaction and ego-driven dissatisfaction, and the importance of staying in your flow. Quoting Ed Cole, Tim points out that, “It’s not how fast you move your feet it’s how big your strides are.” Tim shares how to find your stride and meaningful purpose and make a difference right where you are, while you create the life and impact you desire. Key Takeaways Focus on the now and where you’re headed, and only spend a little time on the past. Recovery is being healed from the wounds of the past. But if you’re not careful you will stay in the recovery zone and will miss your discovery zone. Discovery is today. There’s a lot that’s gone on for you to have a good day today. No matter who you are, something new, fresh, and never been done before can happen in your life. The beauty of life is that you never know what can happen just around the corner. The Law of the Harvest: you have to plow the ground, plant the seed, and water the seed, to reap the harvest. A lot of people plow, plow, plow and are so plow-minded that they forget that you need to plant the seed and water the seed, to see the harvest. When you learn to sow from just a good place, good things happen. A lot of people are dissatisfied because their goals are not realistic. “He who works his land, shall have abundance...” (Proverbs 12:11a) Your land is what’s in front of you. Whether that’s seventh grade or working at Taco Bell. Work your land. “...but he who chases fantasies, lacks wisdom.” (Proverbs 12:11b) A lot of people are chasing fantasies, so they’re getting dissatisfied in their jobs too quick, the schooling they just started, in their exercise program, and who they’re dating or married. That type of dissatisfaction is more cultural, as in, “give me a new toy.” Divine dissatisfaction is God changing your appetite. All of a sudden, you don’t have an appetite for the same things anymore, because He’s moving you into something else. God can give you a plan but you have to be willing, and many times people are not willing. Be willing do the things that most people don’t want to do. When you’re obedient in the small things, then life trusts you in the bigger things. It’s just as important to be an amazing mother as it is to be Oprah Winfrey. Don’t take yourself that seriously. Study comedians. Comedians are some of the best speakers because of their timing. Stay in your flow. “It’s not how fast you move your feet it’s how big your strides are.” ~ Ed Cole We’ve had problems all over the world from the beginning of mankind. Any time you have humans, you’re going to have human problems. When people change their mindset and they change their motives, it shifts a culture. If everybody in your city for one week had good motives, it would change the culture and the climate of that one city. “When the righteous are raised up, the city is exalted.” (Proverbs 11:11) We are temperature changers. Do it in your home, your school, your job, and your city, and it may multiply to the world. “Jesus went around doing good, healing those who were oppressed.” (Acts 10:38) Resources Book: Comeback & Beyond: How To Turn Your Setbacks Into Comebacks Book: Utmost Living: Creating and Savoring Your Best Life Now iTunes App: Utmost Congregation Messages: https://www.congregationchurch.com/messages Connect With Tim Storey Website: com Congregation Church https://www.congregationchurch.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TimStoreyOfficial Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/timstoreyofficial

Artist as Leader

A child-prodigy violinist, Vijay Gupta had performed in top international venues by the time he reached his teens; he started college at the age of 13, finishing with a pre-med bachelor’s; and by 19 he was playing in the first violins section of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, having already earned an MFA from the Yale School of Music. Yet he gradually realized that mere excellence did not suffice. He wanted his art to be of service to the community around him. He set his sights on one specific community just down the street from the Philharmonic, namely Los Angeles’ Skid Row. In 2011 Vijay created Street Symphony, which since its founding has brought hundreds of world-class musical experiences to Los Angeles County communities affected by homelessness and incarceration. In 2018 the MacArthur foundation recognized Vijay’s work as an artist and social justice advocate by awarding him one of their Fellowships, commonly called the “genius grant.”   In this conversation with Corey Madden, Vijay discusses how he grew from dreaming of attaining a position as a leading concertmaster to becoming the artistic director of a radically inclusive and collaborative nonprofit that does not merely do outreach to communities in need but engages with them in transformative ways. http://streetsymphony.org/ https://www.uncsa.edu/kenan/creative-catalyst/artivate.aspx

Sanitary and living conditions for an estimated 2,000 homeless people along Los Angeles’ Skid Row are so severe that the United Nations recently compared them to Syrian refugee camps. How does extreme poverty persist in one of the country’s most expensive real estate markets? NewsHour Weekend Special Correspondent Simon Ostrovsky reports. This is part of an ongoing series of reports called 'Chasing the Dream,' which reports on poverty and opportunity in America.

In many cities and town’s there’s often a neighborhood where poverty is concentrated. At certain times in their histories New York’s Hell’s Kitchen, San Francisco’s Tenderloin and Los Angeles’ Skid Row bore this dubious distinction as the synonyms for chronic, intractable, concentrated poverty and were held up as exhibit a as a built indictment of urbanism in general. Seattle’s Pioneer Square could easily have been on that list of neighborhoods, yet today’s visitors to the center of the neighborhood—at Occidental Park—would be astonished by the diversity of public life. Whether food trucks or foozeball, ping pong tables or public basketball courts the space is simultaneously filled to capacity, yet graciously accommodating to new arrivals. For communities wrestling with how to manage public space in the face of a rising tide of people experiencing homelessness, Pioneer Square’s story is one instructive for what it did and did not accomplish. Rather than ignoring, the community confronted. Rather than divesting, the community invested in relationships and each other, and, critically, rather than excluding, they committed to inclusion. The success of the neighborhood’s public spaces certainly rests on many people’s shoulders, but Leslie Smith’s shoulders may be the first amongst equals. As the Executive Director of the Alliance for Pioneer Square, she has helped transform Occidental Park into the destination that it is today. and her lessons, candor and insights are instructive for anyone trying to understand how to empathetically engage in the process of transforming urban space into welcoming place for everyone.

The Bonfires of Social Enterprise with Romy of Gingras Global | Social Enterprise | Entrepreneurship in Detroit

http://bonfiresofsocialenterprise.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/DWC2.jpg () Bonfires LA-Downtown Women's Center Made by DWC – A Few Steps off Skid Row The Bonfires of Social Enterprise continues its series of stories inspired by Romy's recent visit to LA, and her visit with attorney Cecily Jackson-Zapata, http://sustainable-lawyer.com/ (of the Sustainable Law Group). Joe Altepeter, Director of Vocational Education and Social Enterprise at the Downtown Women's Center, or DWC, explains how the Downtown Women's Center is helping Los Angeles’ homeless women and explains why the organization set up workshops and numerous vocational, medical and mental health programs, and housing operations in Skid Row. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skid_Row,_Los_Angeles (Skid Row is one of the most famous neighborhoods in the world as it has one of the largest populations of impoverished persons, in the world, and many movies and TV shows have been made there or have depicted the life of people who live there.) In this episode of The Bonfires of Social Enterprise with Romy Gingras of Gingras Global, Joe provides extensive descriptions of the social enterprise operations of the DWC, called MADE by DWC. “MADE by DWC was created by the Downtown Women's Center (DWC) to break the cycles of chronic unemployment and homelessness by empowering women to discover talents and develop skills through vocational opportunities, and generate economic and social capital to support programs at DWC.” “MADE by DWC works to empower homeless and low-income women to overcome barriers to traditional and non-traditional employment, cultivate local and sustainable product design and creation, and build community in downtown Los Angeles.” You can find MADE by DWC products in higher end shops in Los Angeles, including Bloomingdales; three Hudson Newsstand locations within the terminals of LAX, or the Los Angeles International Airport; as well as the beautifully appointment shops on Skid Row. Both Romy and Cecily enthusiastically talk about the sunny, cheery layouts of the boutiques and coffee shops. The space of these MADE by DWC shops draws people who would have never thought about visiting Skid Row, pay a visit, and draws customers from nearby office buildings. Jackson-Zapata is of counsel with the law firm that helps Urbane + Galant with a variety of legal issues. She is currently serving as secretary of the Social Enterprise Alliance. Romy Gingras is the CEO and founder of Gingras Global, LLC- which specializes in social enterprise assessment and development services, and Gingras Global Groups, L3C, which offers investment tools for impact investors.
