In Episode 8 of Badlands Book Club, CannCon and Ashe in America dive deep into Chapters 13 and 14 of Kash Patel's Government Gangsters, exposing the entrenched rot of the intelligence community and the Department of Defense. The episode begins with a fiery discussion on the importance of Ed Martin's confirmation as U.S. Attorney for D.C., a critical position that could redefine the future of high-profile prosecutions, and highlights how entrenched bureaucratic rules are designed to stall reform and protect regime loyalists. As they move into Patel's account of his time at ODNI and the DoD, CannCon and Ashe explore how bloated staffing, classification abuse, and agency rivalry prevent transparency and obstruct presidential authority. They examine the centralization of intelligence under ODNI and the dangerous “stovepiping” that keeps key information siloed. Kash's recommendations, streamlining personnel, establishing accountability, and overhauling classification systems, spark further debate about whether General Flynn could soon be leading those reforms. In Chapter 14, the spotlight shifts to the Pentagon, where Kash reveals the incestuous relationship between senior military brass and defense contractors. From generals lobbying for wars they later profit from, to Trump's battles with Secretary Esper, and the eventual appointment of Chris Miller, this chapter outlines how Trump's final 72 days were spent racing to dismantle the Defense Industrial Complex. A must-listen for anyone seeking to understand the real war behind the wars.
In Episode 7 of Badlands Book Club, CannCon and Ashe in America dive into Chapters 12 & 13 of Government Gangsters by Kash Patel, exploring the deep state's calculated takedown of General Michael Flynn. They walk through the unjust prosecution, overclassification tactics, and blatant corruption that plagued the early days of Trump's first term. From FBI entrapment and Lisa Page's doctored 302s to Flynn's forced guilty plea under threats to his family, this chapter exposes the raw abuse of power within the intelligence community. CannCon and Ashe also reflect on their personal experiences with redacted records and government obfuscation, offering firsthand insight into how classification is often weaponized to protect the corrupt rather than national security. They break down the broader implications of unchecked intelligence agencies, highlight Kash Patel's pivotal role in declassification, and emphasize the need for severe accountability across DOJ, FBI, and ODNI. Packed with outrage, black humor, and real-world context, this episode is both a sobering reminder of past injustices and a hopeful glimpse at what could be different in Trump's second term. Whether you're new to the Flynn saga or revisiting it with fresh eyes, this is a must-listen installment that pulls no punches.

In true OnlyLands fashion, chaos reigns as a rotating cast of Badlands Media hosts, including Ashe in America, Ghost, Burning Bright, Alpha, Jon Herold, and Zak "RedPill78" Pain, tear into politics, parenting, propaganda, and whatever else crosses their minds. This episode kicks off with spicy commentary on Rep. Anna Paulina Luna's grandstanding, fake task forces, and baby-in-arms stunts that shut down Congress. But the show quickly spirals into hilariously dark territory: from IRS tax pain and overpriced government furniture, to CDC-branded $240k picnic tables and Wayfair-level laundering jokes. There's also a solid dose of actual intel, like Tulsi Gabbard's new ODNI task force and China's real human rights violations—before the crew dives into rants about teething babies, AI ice cubes, transgender propaganda, and… Thai ladyboys. A lot about ladyboys. The cast debates the “I didn't know” defense, shares awkward gym encounters, and explores whether tariffs apply to gender confusion abroad. Unfiltered, unscripted, and dangerously funny, OnlyLands delivers two hours of satire, side quests, and occasionally profound commentary that will leave you thinking...and possibly canceled.

Eddington, who specializes in issues related to homeland security and civil liberties, returns to the program to discuss a scandalous snafu on the part of the Office of National Intelligence in relation to questions of PRC espionage (specifically the issue of whether or not the PRC has made recruiting Chinese Americans for spying activities) that illustrates a massive government abuse of Freedom of Information Act Exemptions. The whole story was detailed in Patrick's Antiwar.Com article "PRC Espionage: Are Chinese Americans Their Top Recruitment Targets?". In the second part of our conversation we delve into what a second Trump term will potentially mean for civil liberties in the United States and have a in-depth discussion about Trump's mass deportations plans for undocumented migrant/illegal immigrants. Back in August, Patrick wrote a piece for The Bulwark entitled "Trump Could Do a Mass Deportation. We've Done It Before.". We delve into the history of mass deportation plans than have been done in the past with a focus on Eisenhower as well as the crackdowns on German Americans during World War I. We'll also mention issues related to the internment camps of WWII and how they not only targeted Japanese American, but also German- and Italian Americans. Patrick will help us delve into the Alien Enemy Act which has been cited by Trump and his advisers already. Additionally, Patrick will comment on Kentucky Senator Rand Paul's criticisms of Trump wanting to use the U.S. military for mass deportations. Also discussed in the course of this conversation is neo-McCarthyism and the China Initiative of the first Trump Presidency, threats to civil liberties in a second Trump term, the expansion of Presidential/Executive Branch powers over the years and its consequences, the January 6th insurrection/riots, and much, much more.

Former CIA Chief of Disguise, Jonna Mendez, discusses her latest book, "In True Face: A Woman's Life in the CIA, Unmasked" with Linda Millis, former CIA, NSA, and ODNI. A courageous story of being a female spy at the height of the Cold War. She began her CIA career as a "contract wife" performing secretarial duties for the Agency. Yet Mendez had a talent for espionage and soon took on more significant roles at the Agency. She parlayed her interest in photography into an operational role overseas. She lived undercover and served tours of duty all over the globe, rising first to become an international spy and ultimately to Chief of Disguise at CIA's Office of Technical Service. Interview: Wednesday, 27 March 2024. Interviewed by Linda Millis and Hosted by AFIO President James Hughes.

She discusses the risks and potential next steps in the Israel-Gaza conflict, Iran and the Middle East, Russia's war on Ukraine, and how she rose through the CIA's ranks to become a world-class analyst specializing in South Asia.
In what way is beef in UFOs religious-like? Is there evidence for collective visions of these objects and entities, or rather for their objective reality? In what way could the experience have elements of both? In this episode we have the ever more mainstream story of UFO experiences to assess; Not necessarily the important questions around the existence of the phenomenon, which the office of the US director of National Intelligence confirmed in an official 2021 report that they were, in fact, a ‘population of objects' (see show notes below)- but rather the belief in the phenomenon, in 2008 polled at around %37 of Americans, but by no means confined to the US. This widespread belief, along with less ridiculed beliefs bolstered by the high probability of extraterrestrial civilisations more advanced than our own existing out there in the cosmos, has had a huge sociological and cultural influence on western society. So in this episode I want to put into a sociological context all of this quasi-religious belief; understand the role of our perception of technology; get our heads around a rare example of a modern myth forming in real time; look at the ways a phenomenon can be both physical and psychological at the same time; and examine various scientific, academic and even philosophical doors into this confounding phenomena that no matter how much the sceptics deny, just won't go away. So when we study belief we have to turn to a religious studies specialist, and who better to call on than Professor of Religious studies at the University of North Carolina, Diana Pasulka. She's also the author of 3 books, “Heaven Can Wait”, a book about purgatory, “American Cosmic” on scientists who believe in UFO's, and her new 2023 book “Encounters” on multi-disciplinary academic approaches to the UFO phenomenon and experiences with non-human intelligence. Don't forget listeners, that we talk about all the science in more detail with Stanford medical School's immunologist, pathologist and inventor Garry Nolan in this series so check that out too. What we discuss:00:00 Intro.13:08 Meaningful events propel people towards religious belief.21:30 Heidegger's warning about underestimating the influence of technology on our culture.27:00 Plato's “Allegory of the Cave” - A just government and the control of information.34:40 Nietzsche, the risk of assigning causal power for synchronicities to higher powers.44:00 Perspective change: The creation of a modern myth, to a real physical phenomenon.45:50 Looking for UFO crash parts in the desert with Garry Nolan, taken blindfolded by a Space Force scientist.49:00 The ‘Antenna' hypothesis: the brain as a receiver and transmitter.56:00 Physical data analysed by top scientists, and government “management” of information.01:01:00 Where the physical and non-physical meet: idealism or VR hypotheses.01:05:00 Humans may be a sophisticated type of biotechnology.01:06:00 The use of intuition protocols to find technological solutions: intention and visualisation.01:11:30 New Encounters book: a “reorientation”.01:14:00 Iya Whitely: validating pilots experiences. After over a year of work, AARO has released the first volume of their report on the US government's historical UAP investigations, and surprise, they found there is no evidence of extraterrestrial activity or of a reverse-engineering program. However, it's worth putting this report in context of the previous 80 years of the US government saying publicly that there's nothing to the UFO phenomenon, while taking it very seriously behind closed doors. In addition to that, the report is full of errors, bad citations, and the ODNI won't endorse it. So it's fair to ask: Is this report part of a coverup? Danny Adamitis from Lumen's Black Lotus Labs sits down to discuss their work on "No Rest For The Wicked: HiatusRAT Takes Little Time Off In A Return To Action." Last March Lumen's Black Lotus Lab researchers discovered a novel malware called HiatusRAT that targeted business-grade routers. The research states "In the latest campaign, we observed a shift in reconnaissance and targeting activity; in June we observed reconnaissance against a U.S. military procurement system, and targeting of Taiwan-based organizations." This shift in information gathering and targeting preference exhibited in the latest campaign is synonymous with the strategic interest of the People's Republic of China according to the 2023 ODNI threat assessment.
