Michael, Rob, and Pax watch the fourth Fast and Furious movie. It's a prequel to the third one, but it also starts putting the disparate first three movies together to move the series towards what it's going to become. It's crazy, it's exciting, but is it good? And what about its own prequel, Los Bandoleros, directed and co-written by Vin Diesel?
Kim Bhasin and Walt Hickey return to the podcast once again to talk about both Los Bandoleros and Fast & Furious! After discussing a weird timing coincidence, we explore Los Bandoleros: why it exists, why it's all vibes, and whether or not we want more like it. We make our picks for the "most 80s moments" of the movie, talk about action movies vs. heist movies and criminal vs. fugitive movies, and debate why the DoJ would hire Brian. Kim gets surprised by Fenix's incredibly visceral death. Walt totally trolls Joey. They make their picks for the most D&D and wrestling moments of the movie. We talk about the lack of comic relief in Fast & Furious, Walt compares the emotional release of these movies to Disney musicals, and Kim explains why this movie feels smaller than its predecessors. We wonder: are any other franchises "built in the air" the way this one is? Email us: family@cageclub.me Visit our Patreon page at patreon.com/2fast2forever. We are talking Fast X, The Walking Daryl and previewing Monstermanias 56 and 57!
We're returning to Fast & Furious 6, which our guest Chrissy Shackelford (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver) calls "the quintessential Fast & Furious movie." (Also, in case you're wondering: Chrissy is doing *so* good. Thanks for asking.) After Joe explains Duck Dynasty, we uncover more terrible crazy credits, discuss Gisele's sacrifice (now that we know she's still alive), and play a guessing game about the auctioneer's character name. We give Chrissy the hard sell on Los Bandoleros and Rad. She makes an impassioned defense of Vin Diesel's acting, shares a wonderful detail about her wedding, and has harsh words about both The Rock and Mia Toretto. She shares a very easy way to make Elena's pregnancy make (temporal) sense, a theory about deaths in these films, and why she thinks life before God's Eye was better. We ask: do schoolchildren love ATMs? Are these movies funny? Which family member would be best at improve comedy? What are they doing with Rita Moreno and Kurt Russell? We only have a few more Vin Diesel pit stops left, but we've hit on something new: Find Me Guilty may be his biggest departure from Dom. Joining us to talk about this sort of comedy, sort of drama, sort of legal thriller is "fan favorite" Garrett Smith (Killer Bs). We talk about Find Me Guilty's unexpected connection to Los Bandoleros, how Vin Diesel landed the role, and how surprisingly (?) funny Vin is in the role. We wonder if he'll try this thing again, talk about the fake-out at the start of the movie, and praise Peter Dinklage. We reflect on smoking sections and talk about the RICO Act. Joe is once again suspiciously good with numbers. Email us: family@cageclub.me Visit our Patreon page at patreon.com/2fast2forever. Show your support at the 2 Fast 2 Forever shop! Exploring the prequel to Fast & Furious - Los Bandoleros Los Bandoleros is a 2009 American short film directed, co-written, and co-produced by Vin Diesel. It is the second short film in the Fast & Furious franchise, and stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Sung Kang, Tego Calderón and Don Omar. Los Bandoleros details the events prior to Fast & Furious where runaway fugitive Dominic Toretto plots to steal oil from a tanker in the Dominican Republic. It was released on July 28, 2009.[1] It was later included as a bonus on the Blu-ray and Special Edition home releases of Fast & Furious. Paul Walker and Jordana Brewster both appear on the poster, but are not in the film. Support us on Patreon to watch the recording livestreams, Discord server access and other amazing benefits! Welcome back to Franchise Me! This week we continue our conversation about the "Fast" Franchise as we discuss the fourth film "Fast and Furious." In this episode we crack open the coronas to celebrate the reunion of our favorite crew and talk about the serious tone of the film, the intense action sequences, some of the questionable dialogue, and Andrew pitches why this is possibly the most necessary entry in the franchise. We also discuss the short film "Los Bandoleros" that was directed and co-written by Vin Diesel and set right before the start of the fourth movie. Next Week we hit the half-way point of the series and break down the much anticipated "Fast Five." Share your thoughts and opinions with us on Twitter and Instagram @FranchiseMe Pod, see our rankings on Letterboxd (FranchiseMe) and email us at FranchiseMePod@gmail.com.
THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS, Turbo Charged Prelude to 2 Fast 2 Furious, 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS, Los Bandoleros, FAST & FURIOUS und FAST FIVE. Viel Spaß beim Start unserer dreiteiligen Podcast-Reihe! Und Vorsicht Spoiler (haha). 0:02:33 Überblick & wieso wir diesen Podcast machen 0:15:11 The Fast And The Furious (2001) 0:45:30 Turbo Charged Prelude to 2 Fast 2 Furious 0:50:51 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) 1:01:58 Los Bandoleros 1:05:04 Fast & Furious (2009) 1:19:47 Fast Five (2011)

New theme this week on the Intalksicated Reviews Podcast called Short Fuss, where we give our thoughts on short films. Did you know that Fast and the Furious has a short film directed by Vin Disel? on this episode we head to the Dominican Republic to see what Dom Toretto is doing in hiding, and as a bonus we watch the Paul Walker centric short film Turbo Charged. Corey and Norm race through this films and answer questions like Is Vin Diesel's Ego destroying this franchise? Whats up with John Mulaney? and Do you remember Knockaround guys?
2 Vin fanboys give their thoughts on Vin Diesel's performance in the 2006 film: The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, the 2009 film: Fast & Furious, and the 2009 short film: Los Bandoleros. The family is coming back together with the 4th installment in the Fast Saga, and along with it Vin Diesel's short film prologue Los Bandoleros is on the viewing order of the week. It's time to discuss Dominic Toretto's Will Graham-level crime scene envisioning, casting John Ortiz in a film that's actively redoing the Miami Vice movie and the podracing vibe from a tunnel-based car chase sequence. Also, welcome to the franchise Gal Gadot!
Our journey through the Fast franchise continues this week with The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. It's often considered the low point in the F&F franchise. Today Rob and Dan discuss its pros and cons as we head towards the "new" era of F&F! In this episode, we also briefly discuss the unofficial origin story of Han, Better Luck Tomorrow, also directed by Justin Lin. If you want to watch along, our next episode will focus on the 2009 movie, "Fast & Furious". We will also be watching the 20-minute prequel film, directed by Vin himself, titled "Los Bandoleros"

We're correcting the timeline and jumping forward in time as we return to Los Bandoleros and Fast & Furious! Before welcoming in Heather Antos to talk about all things Letty, Gisele, and Dwight, we tease a new Patreon-exclusive episode, break down the fight (or lack thereof) between Vin Diesel and The Rock, and journey across the American Southwest (or do we just stay in California?) for the second minute of the Turbo Charged Prelude. Then, we're joined by Heather to find out how she feels about Fast & Furious, whether or not Los Bandoleros is a worthwhile pitstop, and how she really feels about the good and bad cops of the Fastiverse. Penelope and Jamey are back, and this time they brought friends! Special guests: Julien Fitzpatrick, Kerri Miller & Rein Henrichs For the first time, we invited several of our friends onto the show to discuss our feelings about the Fast & Furious franchise, how much better it would be with supernaturals, and how we could make it gayer. We also watch the short film Los Bandoleros, the only piece of media in the franchise that is neither fast nor furious, making it... stationary and sassy. Los Bandoleros is only a 20 minute short film, so we watch and react to it in real time. The meat of this episode will be a lot more interesting if you watch it along with us and listen to our commentary a la MST3k. We'll tell you when to press play, and here's a link to the video: https://vimeo.com/46696697
Here at ‘Cast and Curious industries, we value fine cinema. And no cinema is finer than this short film written and directed by Vin Diesel himself. It serves as an accompaniment to the fourth movie OR the fourth music video on TRL - it has a similar feel. No heists or street races in this one, though there is a jail break. So sit back, relax, and enjoy some island time with your compadres Melinda and Andrew. You can watch the film here: https://vimeo.com/46696697
Big episode alert! After announcing a slight scheduling change and cracking open the mailbag, we head to the LOST island for an episode full of Ana Lucia, then race over to Coachella to try to stop Dom before it's too late. Then, Nico Vasilo and Kevo Risse (X is for Podcast, HTML) join us to talk about Los Bandoleros and Fast & Furious. We hear about Nico's latest realization about the franchise, compare these movies' structure to Star Wars, and discuss the unfortunate fridging of Letty and the sexy lamposting of Mia. We also talk about how the Heart of the Race can drive, how the Furious Force has evolved, and meet... the Slickster. Also covered: how Melrose Place is the source of everything, how Charles Dickens influenced Fast & Furious, and whether or not 2 Fast 2 Furious ever really happened. Plus! We take a visit to Nicopedia for a lengthy segment on Beth Orton that maybe should have been cut from the episode, but stayed in there. (Movie conversation begins around 42:40.) We ride into the Dominican Republic for a quick peek into what Dom has been up to since the first movie.
We've got "Danza Kuduro" blasting from our speakers, we're towing a money-filled safe behind us, and we're headed back to Rio for Fast Five! The Driving School lap continues as we're once again joined by Cara Gael O'Regan to talk about her favorite parts of this movie, whether or not it surpassed Los Bandoleros as her favorite, and the most Brian O'Conner moments of Fast Five. We also learn a devastating revelation that changes the entire tenor of this lap. Email us: family@cageclub.me Visit our Patreon page at patreon.com/2fast2forever. We're Tokyo Drifting around the third entry in the franchise (for now) as we continue the Driving School Lap in chronological order with Fast & Furious! We welcome back Cara Gael O'Regan to not only talk about the fourth movie in the Fast and the Furious franchise, but also Los Bandoleros, which may wind up being Cara's favorite Fast and Furious movie. Before we team up with Dom and the rest of the family in Fast & Furious, we’re taking a quick detour to the Dominican Republic for Los Bandoleros! Neither of the Joes had watched this short film before, and while it’s not exactly required viewing, it’s got some great family moments and is far more rewarding than the Turbo Charged Prelude we covered earlier this lap. In this episode, we dive into the mailbag, cover the first Fast and Furious Minute that features Mia, and then talk about Vin Diesel’s writing and directorial efforts in Los Bandoleros. Vin Diesel takes the wheel (haha) in Los Bandoleros, a short film he wrote and directed that serves as a sort of prequel to Fast & Furious. We last left Dom in Baja, Mexico, but he's now 3,000 miles away in the Dominican Republic (we have our theories on that). Gasoline is so expensive here, it's driving the crime rate up and the people are getting desperate. But as we're repeatedly told, things are about to change... Join us as we wonder what everyone was thinking and break down Los Bandoleros on a longer than expected episode of So Fast So Furious. (Note: We are reviewing the series in narrative order, so we will be placing Tokyo Drift between movies 6 and 7.)
