#25: Do you have desire to become a speaker, or even just to communicate more effectively as business owner / entrepreneur? IF yes, you are in for a treat. :) Today’s guest is Peter Billingham, the Public Speaking Coach for Entrepreneurs. He helps entrepreneurs become better speakers by writing speeches for them and coaching them how to deliver the material. (online/face to face) Many business leaders/entrepreneurs are very passionate and knowledgeable about their subject matter but do not have communications skills that allow them to clearly articulate, engage and call an audience to action. I met Peter in person twice as he was the MC for New Media Europe Conference and did such a fantastic job. As we chatted further, I figured he has massive experience in this area with a very interesting journey as well. In today's interview, you would find us in a more layback conversation, but we covered some important topics such as: The common mistakes of new speakers and how to avoid them How I practiced for my stage time on John C Maxwell event and got standing ovation in a 700 plus crowd. Peter’s secret “sticky” technique as event MC and professional speaker to be memorable in audience’s mind. Now, let’s chat with Peter. Key Lessons: The common mistakes of new speakers and how to avoid them How I practiced for my stage time on John C Maxwell event and got stand ovation in a 700 plus crowd. My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who I'll be honest I should have had on the show along time ago. As he is someone that quite simply can put me in my place, and show us all how to create a podcast, a podcast movement and still have his own hair and teeth in the process. Nobody said it was easy after all! Starting his career back in 1995 on Tunbridge Wells Hospital Radio, it was obvious that he had set out on a path that was always going to be his own. One linked to his love for radio, and one that was linked with his passion for content creation. Then in 1997 things started to get serious, as he started seeking out work experience with many of the household names that make up national UK radio, and it's more localised stations. He worked for BBC World Service, Capital Radio, TalkSPORT, Sunrise radio, 101.1 Rock Radio in Manchester, and even Kool FM, before he realised that in all likely hood he was going to end up building someone else's dream if he didn't take the leap and go for it on his own. And this he did by launching Music Radio Creative, a company that provides jingles, voice over talent, and script editing for anyone with a desire to create a podcast or radio programme too. Radio stations to your humble podcasters, have saught out his knowledge of everything sound related, and positioned him very much front and centre of the UK podcasting scene. And now with his wife Izabella, and his ever expanding family, he has taken this profile and launched the UK Podcasters Community and The New Media Europe Conference too. He is nothing but busy I can tell you. So with so many career jumps in his life, was he always on the path to where he is today, or is it one that is totally unexpected? And does he feel that being an entrepreneur in 2016, especially in the world of New Media is still wild west time, or just a walk on the golden sands of life? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mr Mike Russell.

In today's Episode of the Online Learning Podcast, I am delighted to welcome four guests from the New Media Europe Conference 2015; Jelle Derckx, Jonathan Tilley, Katrina Buderuus and Cliff Ravenscraft. After these great people gave scintillating speeches I was lucky enough to grab them for a few minutes each for an exclusive interview for the Online Learning Podcast In this Week's Episode: In this Episode we discuss: Jelle Derckx How "Think and Grow Rich" inspired Jelle to blog about personal development How Jelle came to create his online course about simplifying your life Offers some advice about how online blogging can help online course creators How to make money with an awesome online blog Why podcasting is such a great way to create a community How to take the answers from interview guests and turn it into a blog article which would be really engaging Why you need to keep blog posts short and punchy Why Jelle is going to create an English course about minimalism on Udemy Jelle lives in the Netherlands and was born in 1984. Performing has always been his passion and he graduated from Acting College when he was 24. From 24 to 27 he didn't have a great time and was struggling with negative thoughts about himself and was constantly comparing himself with others. Jelle decided to make a big break and went to Brazil with a book: Think and Grow Rich. That book changed Jelle's life and thinking completely. He came back to the Netherlands and made life changes (minimalism) and decided to share it on a blog. After a year he made a course on minimalism, wrote a book and started podcasting about the topics he was passionate about. Now, Jelle has two blogs, one on acting and filmmaking and one about personal development and minimalism. Both blogs have a podcast and an email list of 4500 people. Jelle is 31 and he's living in Amsterdam as an entrepreneur.
