I've tried—and failed—to teach The Christian in Complete Armour more than once. This time, instead of reading through the entire work, we begin by examining 12 popular quotes attributed to William Gurnall—testing whether they actually reflect what he said.
Welcome back to the podcast, everyone. Today, we are examining the architecture of memory, trauma, and the blurred lines of reality. Hitting theaters and VOD on June 12, 2026, is a film that I promise is going to get under your skin. It's called This Tempting Madness, a breathtakingly tense psychological thriller that marks the feature directorial debut of Jennifer E. Montgomery. Now, if you think you've seen all sides of Bridgerton superstar Simone Ashley, think again. She delivers a raw, bold, and genuinely transformative performance as Mia, a woman who awakens from a coma with a fractured memory, a grievously injured body, and the devastating realization that the man she loves is completely missing. Alongside an incredible supporting cast, the film takes us directly inside Mia's disoriented mind as she tries to piece together a past she can no longer trust. But what makes This Tempting Madness truly unforgettable is where the story came from. This isn't just a Hollywood script; it is deeply inspired by a harrowing true story. Director Jennifer E. Montgomery wrote the film with her longtime collaborator and spouse, Andrew M. Davis, after living through her own firsthand tragedy. Years ago, Montgomery watched her own best friend's life quietly collapse over a period of six months—culminating in an act of severe violence. When her friend finally woke from a coma, those entire six months of memory were completely gone. Instead of making a straightforward documentary, Jennifer and Andrew built an immersive cinematic landscape that mirrors how trauma actually works—in loops, contradictions, and shifting colors. From a custom score built literally out of Simone Ashley's own vocal tones to vintage Panavision lenses that make the frames feel like unpredictable memories, every single detail of this film was crafted to make us question what is real right along with Mia. We are incredibly lucky to have the mastermind behind this phenomenal film with us today. Joining me to talk about the immense responsibility of turning personal trauma into art, pushing cinematic boundaries, and running towards the fire of complex storytelling... please welcome the director and co-writer of This Tempting Madness, Jennifer E. Montgomery!

If that premise just made you sit up straighter, this episode is for you.Anna Cowan joins us to talk about The Duke, her long-awaited second novel — a queer Regency romance that flips the classic historical hero archetype on its head. This one is for readers who love the lush world of Regency fiction but are hungry for something that feels fresh, politically charged, and unapologetically modern in its sensibilities. We dig into Anna's world-building process, the evolution of historical romance as a genre post-Bridgerton, and what it means to write a female Duke who's conceptually hot in exactly the way the brooding Regency hero always was.Anna also shares a stack of book recommendations spanning classic historicals, gay hockey romance, and Kindle Unlimited reads that will genuinely spark your brain.
What if you could visit your favorite sci-fi and fantasy worlds… but only for a short time? From breathtaking planets and iconic cities to absolutely terrifying nightmare dimensions, these are the places that spark curiosity, awe… and a very strong desire to leave quickly. Each setting is ranked not just by how amazing it would be to experience, but also by how fast Jim would be looking for the nearest exit.If you've ever thought “I'd love to go there… but I'd definitely die,” this episode is for you.⸻
If you're reading along, just know this has been slightly shortened to fit the space, so it might not match the audio word for word—but you're not missing anything important. He Is Series Jehovah Mekoddishkem (The Lord Who Sanctifies You) — When You Feel Unworthy, God Is Still Working in You Exodus 31:13 “You yourself are to speak to the Israelites: ‘You shall keep my sabbaths… that you may know that I, the Lord, sanctify you.'” Today, we are talking about Jehovah Mekoddishkem (The Lord Who Sanctifies You). To be sanctified means to be made holy. God is the one who makes us holy. At a mission, a speaker asked who wanted to be holy; only a few hands went up. Then he asked who wanted to go to heaven—everyone raised their hand. He said, “You know the only way to get to heaven is to be holy, right?” Another speaker said something similar. Few wanted to be saints, but everyone wanted heaven. The truth is, we are all called to be saints—not necessarily Saints with a capital S like Mother Teresa or Saint Catherine of Siena—but we do need to be sanctified to enter heaven. God is the one who sanctifies us through His grace, love, and mercy. He wants each of His children to be holy so we can spend eternity with Him. I think many of us hesitate to say we want to be holy for two reasons. First, we don't want to seem prideful. Second, we think it will require more than we can give. We assume it means doing everything perfectly or giving up everything we enjoy, so we avoid it. I looked up what sanctification means using the Truthly app—an AI tool that shares faith-based insights rooted in Catholic teaching. To be sanctified means: To be made holy — God transforms us from the inside out through grace. To be set apart — We are dedicated to God, no longer living just for ourselves. To be purified — God doesn't just cover sin; He cleanses it. The primary means of sanctification are: The Holy Spirit The Sacraments Prayer, fasting, and works of mercy Suffering united to the Cross The goal is full participation in God's life—what some call theosis—sharing in His divine life by grace. This is the purpose of the Christian life: not just to avoid hell, but to become truly holy. We cannot make ourselves holy, but we can cooperate with God—or resist Him. Before I continue, I want to say something important. I'm not sharing this so you feel like you have to do everything or that you're falling behind. This isn't a checklist. This is just a way to notice how God is already working in your life… and where He might be inviting you a little deeper. You don't have to do everything perfectly. Just listen and see if one thing stands out. Here are simple ways we can cooperate with God's grace: Prayer — Opens our hearts to God The Sacraments — Especially the Eucharist and Confession Scripture — Helps us hear His voice Fasting — Trains our hearts to depend on God Works of mercy — Loving others Offering suffering — Letting God transform it Devotion to Mary — Drawing closer to Jesus Spiritual guidance — Getting help from others Daily reflection — Noticing God's presence Virtue — Choosing patience, humility, and love This is not about doing all of these. Just ask: is there one step God is inviting me into? We can also unintentionally resist grace: Pride — Thinking we don't need God Serious sin — Though we can always return Neglecting prayer — Losing connection Small compromises — Slowly pulling away Tempting situations — Leading us to struggle Spiritual apathy — “It doesn't matter” Ignoring conscience — Dismissing that nudge Attachments — Loving things more than God Unforgiveness — Blocking grace Despair or presumption — Too far gone or no need to change Again, this is not to make you feel bad. Just ask gently: “Is anything blocking what God wants to do in me?” Grace is not earned—it is received. God is always giving. The question is whether our hearts are open. As Saint Augustine said, our hearts are restless until they rest in God—and every step toward Him brings us closer to that rest. I know this episode was more teaching than usual, but I felt called to share it. If you're listening, I believe you want heaven—and God wants that too. He is working in you every day. What is one way you can cooperate more with His grace? What might be resisting it? Dear Jehovah Mekoddishkem, bless all who are listening. Thank You for sanctifying us and wanting us with You forever. Show us anything blocking Your grace and help us cooperate with it. We want to be holy. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen. Thank you for joining me on this journey to walk boldly with Jesus! Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit, “Who needs to hear this?” If someone comes to mind, send it to them. I look forward to seeing you Monday. Remember, Jesus loves you just as you are—and so do I! Have a blessed weekend! One Week Out, the Mock Is On Seven days before the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, the Detroit Lions Podcast fired up a full seven-round mock. The simulator ran on the consensus board at normal speed. Every trade offer was rejected to keep the exercise clean, even though the host admitted he would take several of them in real life. Tennessee, Buffalo, and Philadelphia dangled packages with future second-round picks. Tempting, but declined. The board fell largely as expected into the teens. The goal was simple. Track how the Detroit Lions might act when real choices appear. Concrete roster needs. Scheme fits. Red flags. All in play. Round 1: OT Over CB Temptations The Lions sifted through a cluster that included Raymond McCoy, Dylan Spielman, Keldrick Falk, Caden Proctor, Akeem Mezzadore, and Caleb Lomu. McCoy brought one season of pristine outside-corner tape at Tennessee, but the knee history and whispers about a degenerative issue cooled enthusiasm. The Lions already live with that kind of concern at safety with Kirby Joseph. Pass. Edge was surveyed for a complement to Aidan Hutchinson. A prototype was on the board, but Mezzadore did not fit that vision. Avion Terrell offered coverage polish yet carried a lighter frame than ideal. Caleb Lomu drew praise for movement skills and zone-friendly run blocking, but the sense was Detroit would not value him as highly. Caden Proctor held appeal, just not as the apple of their eye. The pick landed where positional value and board scarcity intersected. Blake Miller, offensive tackle. Take the pillar now, develop the ceiling with Fraley, and avoid forcing an offensive need later when the board thins. After 17: Runs, Snipes, and Offers Once Miller was in, chips fell fast. McCoy came off the board. Proctor went to Houston. Gabe Vaki vanished. Then the sting. TJ Parker, a player with real Lions interest, disappeared just before 50. More trade calls arrived in the 50s with swaps that included moving down for extra Day 2 capital. Again, declined for the sake of the exercise. Round 2 Watch: Corner Takes the Lead The Lions scanned offense and saw little they liked. Eli Stowers at tight end did not move the needle, especially with contested-catch concerns. A running back like Jadarian Price was not in play. Defense answered. Chris Johnson, an outside corner, fit cleanly and immediately jumped to the top of the conversation. Malachi Lawrence offered intrigue. Kayla Banks carried a foot injury that complicated the calculus. The takeaway was clear. By grabbing an offensive tackle early, Detroit preserved flexibility while the second-round board tilted defense. Cornerback rose to the front, with outside traits that align with how the Lions want to play on the perimeter. Health flags matter. Scheme fit matters more. One week out, this mock framed both with clarity. #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #nfl #blakemiller #chrisjohnson #mockdraft Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

In the 20th Century, mankind believed they had found the solution to evil: Education. Until we witnessed all the atrocities of World War 2… Education hadn't “fixed” evil, because ignorance wasn't the underlying issue. So then: What is the underlying issue? How does a cute, innocent baby grow up to become a twisted, malicious adult? How do we address the issue of “evil” - not just out there in the world - but here in our own lives?Join us as Pastor Johanan brings us answers in A Tempting Start from Matthew 4:1-11.

More broken than we know, more loved than we can comprehend. Welcome to the weekly sermon podcast of Grace Church Bellingham.
https://jo.my/k7u1jrThe Most Common Hand Injuries And CausesYour hands are your most valuable tools. In a warehouse, they're constantly at risk. From sharp edges to pinch points and fast-moving machinery, one wrong move can lead to serious injury. That's why this week, we're focusing on hand safety—and more specifically, how to avoid cuts, pinches, and caught-in hazards. Most hand injuries don't come out of nowhere. They build up from small oversights. Grabbing debris without gloves. Reaching into a jammed conveyor. Wearing a loose hoodie near a rotating shaft. These aren't just bad habits—they're dangerous ones. The goal is simple: protect your hands before an injury forces you to stop using them. Here are a few ways to keep your hands out of harm's way:1. Watch for pinch, crush, and cut points.Anywhere metal moves, shifts, or presses—assume there's a danger zone. Conveyor rollers, dock plates, loading bays, lift gates. Keep your hands out unless you've locked out the equipment and confirmed it's safe.2. Never clear jams by hand.Tempting? Sure. But that shortcut can cost you fingers. Use proper lockout/tagout procedures. And always use tools—not hands—to remove material that's stuck or jammed.3. Skip the loose clothing and jewelry. That oversized hoodie, drawstring, or metal watch? It might seem harmless—until it catches on a rotating shaft or pallet jack chain. Keep sleeves snug and accessories off the floor.4. Stay alert around moving parts.Rotating belts. Chain drives. Live rollers. These parts don't stop just because you're nearby. Give machinery space, even if it looks idle. Always assume it could start back up.5. Don't ignore small cuts or blisters.Even minor scrapes can turn into infections or worse if untreated. Clean and cover wounds. Report them. Letting a small cut fester is never the smart move.As always, these are potential tips. Please be sure to follow the rules and regulations of your specific facility.A strong safety culture isn't built on luck. It's built on small decisions, repeated daily. Every time you choose gloves over bare hands, or back away instead of reaching in, you're protecting more than just yourself. You're setting the tone for your whole team.Hand injuries are some of the most common incidents in the warehouse. But here's the thing—they're also some of the most preventable. With awareness, a little patience, and the right habits, you can keep your hands safe and working as hard as you do.Thank you for being part of another episode of Warehouse Safety Tips.Until we meet next time - have a great week, and STAY SAFE!#Safety #SafetyCulture #StaySafe #HandSafety #InjuryPrevention #CaughtInHazards #WorkplaceSafety #StayAlert #HealthAndSafety
Season 5, Episode 705: Enjoy an excerpt from the book "Tempting Tara", written by Cozy DuBois, narrated by podcast host Ruan Willow, then come back and watch the full interview episode featuring Cozy DuBois! Tempting Tara (affiliate link) Get the book Book Blurb published online: With a former fling now a cherished friendship, Tara secretly longs for more. But is desire enough to bridge two damaged souls? Tara Sanderson is determined to be a good friend when Lee and Antonio's upcoming wedding means countless hours in close company with Gabe Cooper, the best man and her secret ex-flame. Armed with her many rules and meager emotional resilience, she hides her feelings to protect herself. Friendship is more than enough; the man who unknowingly broke her heart has become a beloved friend. After years of therapy and seclusion to recover from a string of abusive relationships, Gabe feels whole enough to love again. His obsessive infatuation with the stranger who stole his shattered heart has healed into manageable yearning for the Tara he's come to know. Instead of pining after yet another person who will never love him back—or worse, pursuing her and losing their friendship—he reluctantly agrees to the blind dates his mom sets up for him. Tara's self-control slips after learning he's looking for love with anyone but her, revealing she's not as content to be "just friends" as she pretends. Ever the hopeless romantic, Gabe tries to show Tara how good they could be together. Tara must break all her rules to accept the happiness she longs for, but her habit of running from her feelings may be more than Gabe's still-fragile heart can bear. Connect with author Cozy DuBois Cozy Dubois (they/them) thought writing fiction was a long-lost hobby. In episode 103 of the Working Genius Podcast, Pat and Cody explore why Working Genius types cannot and should not be used to predict the three Ideal Team Player virtues (humble, hungry, and smart). Mouthing Off To God - Tempting The Almighty To destroy youAs a child should never talk back to a parent, God's people must choose their words carefully in Jesus' presence. He came unto his own and they knew him not, worse yet they lipped him off and were disrespectful.
Do you feel like you're wandering in a spiritual wilderness? In this message, Ann Nunnally, founding co-pastor of Victory Fellowship Church, shares how to leave your spiritual wilderness and enter the promised land that God has prepared for you. "The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure."1 Corinthians 10:13 NLTGod is still there in the place of wilderness and trials. Sometimes temptation doesn't find us, we find it. Yet, God is always with us. 1 Corinthians 10:1-13 tells us of the wilderness journey of the Hebrew people. There are 5 "scorpions" from the wilderness that we need to be aware of. Serpents and scorpions are used to describe our spiritual enemy. They hide in the darkness and live in the desert places. Don't walk in the desert, walk in the fullness of what God has for you. 1) Lust - desire for "more" - strong intense desire to please oneself through possessions, greed, money, or power. 2) Idolatry - a sin of spiritually immature people - Saul's idol was his self-image in front of the people. Aaron made the golden calf (sin of idolatry because of what the people wanted; he wanted to please the people). Idolatry is when something is more important to you than God. When the Lord corrects you, it's not because He hates you; it's because He loves you. 3) Sexual Immorality - God cannot bless sexual immorality. he cannot bless what He doesn't ordain. God blesses those united in covenant marriage. 4) Tempting the Lord - When you have the attitude that I am the exception. It is not the Lord's responsibility to help you sin. You can't defy sound judgement and expect God to make things right. God is not a vending machine. 5) Murmuring and Complaining - this indicates a lack of faith in God's will. Murmuring and complaining is the path to division. We want to have thankful hearts. A thankful heart is the gateway into the presence of God. Are you wondering in the wilderness unable to walk in all God has for you?God wants you to walk in victory. Luke 10:19 : God gives His disciples authority over the enemy. Luke 4:1-14 : Jesus was tempted and He overcame the enemy by the word of God. He came out with the power of the Spirit. The wilderness is a place where you learn to tread on serpents and you come out in the power of the Spirit. The purpose of temptation is not death by scorpion bite, but victory and the ability to walk in the power of the Spirit.

On Broadcom (AVGO), Matt Tuttle says "they're at the forefront of every single aspect" of A.I. capex spending. He compares them to Nvidia (NVDA), saying AVGO is "tempting right now" when choosing between the two. Matt points to the broad reach in hardware, software and infrastructure saying it could be sheltered from any volatility in an A.I. pullback. He says investors need to "keep your head on a swivel" as questions surface about OpenAI's cash flow, Google's Willow Chip as a potential disruptor and early A.I. pioneers calling for a pause to superintelligence research.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – / schwabnetwork Follow us on Facebook – / schwabnetwork Follow us on LinkedIn - / schwab-network About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about
Send us a textThis week, Nic and Kirstan are skipping the news, ditching the headlines, and diving straight into the dangerous waters of their own opinions. It's a rapid-fire episode where we ask each other the big questions—like: Why are group chats both emotionally supportive and deeply annoying? Why are suits so tight now? And most importantly… why did Pixar draw Mrs. Incredible like that? Who was that for? And why did it work? We're asking the questions that deserve no answers—but we're giving them anyway!Hosted by Nicholas Finch & Kirstan Cunningham New Episodes every Thursday!! Please subscribe, rate, and review! We're familiar with the last half of 1 Corinthians 11 - but do we understand it? Divisions at the table. Hungry and drunk at the Lord's Supper. The body. Examination. Eating and drinking judgment. The other body. Dead, but not condemned. What's Paul trying to say in this passage? Whatever it is, it's pretty important; we're talking about life-and-death issues! Here's Jim at 1 Corinthians chapter 11, verse 23. The Lord's Supper is a picture. And we need a bigger frame. The Corinthians had distorted the living image that Jesus gave us in the Upper Room. We have cropped out part of that picture. And others have painted over it as they wished, and hung it upside-down. But the picture can be restored - if we'll refer back to the original, as revealed by Paul in 1 Corinthians 11. Here's Jim with Part 1 of a sermon entitled, Tempting God to Death. Summary In this episode, Andy welcomes Jon Harper, author of Rebuild! Don't Repair: Why Fixing Things Doesn't Fix Things in Life. Jon shares from his personal and professional journey about the courage it takes to stop settling for temporary fixes and instead do the deeper, more intentional work of rebuilding. Drawing on lessons from his leadership experience and faith-based insights, Jon invites listeners to consider how our beliefs, habits, and leadership defaults often stem from foundations we didn't consciously choose. The conversation covers when to rebuild rather than repair, how to evaluate the people around us during transformation, and why awkwardness is often a sign of real change. Jon shares stories about quitting alcohol as a coping mechanism and the daily habits that keep him focused and grounded. He also offers a practical approach to helping children process their day—something leaders can adapt for teams, too. If you're leading a team, a project, or a personal transition and want to build something stronger and more lasting, this episode is for you!
