Recently, I was listening to a speech by Neill F. Marriott. She shared an interview she had with Noelle Pikus-Pace the 2014 silver medal winner in Sochi Russia in the skeleton race. Noelle said, “Where you look is where you GO“. I started thinking about this phrase and began to think about the scriptures and how often we are told to look. Olympian Noelle Pikus Pace knows a thing or two about achieving goals. She's a two time Olympian, winning a silver medal at the 2014 Sochi Olympics in the Skeleton. She did that with two kids under six. Now she has four kids and continues to speak and inspire people to achieve their goals. She and Host Lindsay Aerts talk about how you can still focus on what you want to achieve no matter how old your kids are. She shares examples of overcoming fear and anxiety through the lessons she learned training for the Olympics, and how to balance the old saying, "there's a season for everything" versus when to just take action on a dream. Noelle can also help you with your goals in her new new Life Stacking program which you can learn more about here. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on up, its skeleton time! These are the words that may enter Noelles mind and heart as she plunges face first down an ice mountain at speeds exceeding 80-90 miles an hour, her body inches away from certain death. Why would she do such a thing you ask? Because it’s absolutely amazing and Noelle reaches a level of intense focus that eventually landed her a silver medal at the Winter Olympics in Russia! Her story is so incredible, not because of her accomplishments, but because of the journey and life lessons she learned along the way leading to those amazing results. Noelle truly has the mindset of an Olympian and uses it in all aspects of her life, giving her the ability to accomplish anything. She and her husband, Janson, make goals every month and strive to achieve them one step at a time. This has helped them feel more alive and in the moment, keeping things feeling fresh. She currently offers an online course, helping others develop the mindset of an Olympian. She truly has been an amazing person to chat with. Enjoy!
It was "the moment of the games" and one that will be forever etched into Olympic history—the moment when skeleton athlete Noelle Pikus Pace cleared a barricade to jump into the stands and celebrate her silver medal victory with her family. What you may not know is the road that brought Noelle to that moment: a runaway bobsled, days and weeks spent away from her young family, a shoestring dragging on the ice, and a miscarriage that led to a decision to come back one more time to a sports she loves. This is Noelle Pikus Pace’s journey to a silver medal, a medal she says was “as good as gold.” "I didn't lose the gold medal, I won the silver.” Show Notes 1:57- Skeleton 5:54- Maintaining Focus 7:49- Adversity 11:37- We Never Lose 14:58- A Family Goal 20:07- “He is the Finish Line” 22:31- “Where You Look is Where You’ll Go” 25:33- A Bucket List 30:05- Competing Vs. We talk about the customer journey. But the term journey implies there is a path, and customers take the path. If customers are unique, and most of us think they are, then wouldn't they take their own path? And if each customer takes a unique path, then how are WE (software companies) supposed to manage that? The answer is: We aren't. That's why I like that Ellie Wu talked about moments. Ellie Wu, Senior Director of Customer Success at SAP Concur and a top 100 Customer Success Influencer, joins Helping Radio to talk about owning moments (not the customer). WE talk about a lot of other things too, including fawning over her Linkedin videos, whether to hire a customer success executive or a customer success manager first, and we even talked briefly about Olympic skeleton racer, Noelle Pikus Pace and how she overcame the possible destruction of her Olympic dreams with one statement from her doctor in her darkest moment.
