My (maybe controversial) opinion on kids throwing tantrums and what I do about it How I fit in self-care in this season of motherhood and how I did it in years past Do I worry about giving birth to more children as I approach my 40s? Our laidback approach to family goals and vision that has allowed us to achieve our dreams How to find your home decorating style and what to do when you make a mistake My three favorite tasks in my home and on the homestead If I could choose between living in town or living on a little bit of acreage in my early motherhood years, this is what I would choose View full show notes on the blog + watch this episode on YouTube. Have you ever felt like you're working harder than ever, but somehow missing what truly matters? This week, we're bringing back one of our most popular episodes of all time—a replay of a powerful master class with Hal Elrod from 2019. As we head into the new year, this conversation is as timely and relevant as ever. In this episode, Hal shares the radical changes he made after a life-altering health scare to reclaim his time, focus on what truly matters, and design a life of deep connection. We cover: Practical strategies to align your actions with your values. The power of rituals like family meetings to foster open communication. Why learning to say "no" is the ultimate act of self-love and prioritization. The critical role of health and emotional mastery in being present. How community and accountability drive transformation. Why listen now? This master class has inspired countless listeners to rethink how they approach their family life and priorities. It's the perfect episode to set the tone for a year of alignment, connection, and fulfillment. My personal takeaway? The idea that fulfillment comes not from doing more, but from doing the right things. Creating intentional rituals and saying no to misaligned commitments were game changers for Hal—and it might just change everything for you, too. What's important to you? Owning a car? Family time? Retirement? No matter what your goals are, they're always intertwined more with the goals of those around us than we may think. For Gigi Gonzalez, culture was everything when it came to working toward her goals. When she began shoveling money toward her own non-family goals, it created rifts in her family. Did she think she was too good for them? Was she losing her cultural identity? While that's not at all true, what is true is that balancing reaching her goals and working with her family was an important middle ground that Gigi needed to find as a first generation American AND that she passes on to others. She also helps us with our budget, car buying strategy, and more. In our headline segment, check writing is in the crosshairs of one popular New York Times columnist.
