“I do believe in independent voices getting heard and elevated throughout the world, and I don't feel that there's a lot of mediums anymore where we have that opportunity. But podcasting, to me, is the ultimate solution right now for getting a voice heard and elevated throughout the world, that it can really change somebody's life. I've had stories from listeners. I have a lot of friends that have stories from listeners that are all around the world focused on something really specific, saying this is the one thing I've been searching for, couldn't find it anywhere except for your podcast. That type of thing, I believe, is what makes the world a better place. And sure, pat on the back for Alex or whatever you want to say, but, like I, am devoted to serving the world in that way.” -- Alex Sanfilippo This episode's the second half of my conversation with veteran podcaster, PodPros founder, and entrepreneur Alex Sanfilippo as we talk about what to do and not to do when starting a podcast, the latest developments on PodPros and Alex's series of podcasting apps, and both the risks and opportunities that podcasting's explosion into the mainstream offers for creators. As always, if you have questions for my guest, you're welcome to reach out through the links in the show notes. If you have questions for me, visit audiobrandingpodcast.com where you'll find a lot of ways to get in touch. Plus, subscribing to the newsletter will let you know when the new podcasts are available and access to a resource called The Studio with lots of interesting sound-related mp3s, videos, educational pdfs, and exclusive discounts from previous guests. And if you're getting some value from listening, the best ways to show your support are to share this podcast with a friend and leave an honest review. Both those things really help – and I'd love to feature your review on future podcasts. You can leave one either in written or in voice format from the podcast's main page. I would so appreciate that. (0:00:01) - Podcasting Tips and Problem SolvingAs the second half of our discussion begins, we talk about handling an overabundance of content, and how we both happened upon the solution of devoting two episodes to a guest.“But every word he said was gold,” he recalls about one early guest on his show, “like, what do I do? Right, broken into two episodes. So, Jodi, I love that you do it: that's a pro-level hack right there.” We also talk about our early podcasting days and how tricky it can be finding the right topic and your most authentic voice as a podcaster. “I know all of us have to develop our voice,” Alex says. “I think you can really only discover it by using it often, or at least that's probably the fastest way to discover where you're at.” (0:06:46) - Podcast Solutions and Industry GrowthOur conversation turns to Alex's Podcasting Made Simple show and the reasoning behind his Podmatch and Podscore apps for podcasters. “The whole idea,” he explains, “is can we help them make the whole process less stressful and more organized through some project manager software that doesn't take time to learn, something really easy, specifically for releasing episodes, and we help them get more reviews.” He talks about his belief in the power of podcasting to connect and help people all over the world, and about the mission that drives him as both a podcaster and app designer: “that's really my whole mission behind it, it's just: can we continue to make this thing possible for podcasters?” (0:11:13) - Impact of Podcasting and Changing TrendsWe also talk about how podcasting has broken into the mainstream and...

Welcome to a very special episode of FFFF. No lists. No guests. Just me, sharing with you one of my all-time spookiest stories. Beaming to you from the Plastic Microphone Studios deep in the cold, dead heart of voodoo country, this is a special episode of FAVE FIVE FROM FANS. I'm your ghoulish host Jamie Ray and I'd like to give you my condolences for being forced to join us. We've got a show for all of the lost souls out there in the Podcast Universe. Today, I present to you a story from the horror maestro Edgar Allen Poe, Originally published on December 20, 1845. An example of a tale of suspense and horror, it is also to a certain degree a hoax, as it was published without claiming to be fictional, and many at the time of publication took it to be a factual account. Poe admitted it to be a work of pure fiction in letters to his correspondents. It has always been a favorite of mine, and now I share it with you poor, wretched fiends. FFFF Ep087 Fave Five Vampires I bid you welcome... In this episode, I have invited returning guest Angela P to once again cross the threshold of the Plastic Microphone Studios for a discussion of our favorite vampires, on screen and in print. A vampire, you ask? Modern medical science does not admit of such a creature! The vampire is a pure myth, superstition. Maybe, but we love them still. A vampire's power last from sunset to sunrise. During the hours of the day, it must rest in the earth in which it was buried. But you, denizens of the Podcast Universe, you may listen and enjoy this episode any time. Now, I must fly….. Happy Birthday to Anecdotal Anatomy who just complete a full year of podcasting! This humble conversation started, in part, as a means to dive deeper into understanding our anatomy, functionally and academically. It turned into a bigger conversation about the stories the body holds & tells. Aspects of the original intention have been sprinkled in throughout the year, but both hosts chose to follow the breadcrumbs and are now surrendering to the mysteries along the way.Season One - The Koshas, introduced Anecdotal Anatomy to the Podcast Universe. Each Kosha (layer of our being) was explored first by the hosts in a more formal way and then by selected guests who revealed the Koshas through their diverse lenses. (See list of guests below). For more details, check out Season One!Season Two - Embodiment, led us into the worlds of mythology, archetypes & patterns, the Hero(ine)'s Journey, filling in other people's After the Because stories, and practices of embodiment. It brought us some new voices to guide us through the maze (see below for guests of S2).Season Three - The Wholistic Place, made the hosts architects of an ideal neighborhood, one built on the premise of collective optimal wellbeing. Bridges were built and all had fun during CAMP (community, anecdotes, meditation, play) - a four Sunday adult camp which added flavor to the conversations. Of course, there was talk of Fascia!Season Four - Science & Stories, was designed to lean into the tag line and see what arose. This season followed the Heroine's Journey for a bit, dove into Divine Feminine energy and the value of retreat, among various other themes. This season could have been called, A Divine Journey.Season Five - Yoga 8, is a series of conversations inspired by the view of Yoga beyond what we typically view as Yoga, which is Asana (the poses - 3rd limb). Like with the Koshas, each limb has a dedicated episode. Even if the episode were three hours, it would still just scratch the surface. Each episode has Show Notes which contain links to the resources accessed and more. This is E52!!! What a treasure trove!Thank you for tuning in and sharing your stories! This podcast would not be anything without you! It's official! Phase 4 of the GPU (Guys of a certain age Podcast Universe, in case you've forgotten or never knew) has begun! Ok, maybe not But Phase 4 of the MCU - a slightly more famous universe - has definitely begun. Finally, another Marvel movie has hit theaters, and The Guys showed up to see Black Widow. Spoiler alerts abound. Though there are definitely Phase 3 carryovers in this kick-off movie, The Guys agree that it was a good overall offering from Feige and Fam: action, ancestry, and angst that Marvel weaved into a solid origin story, as well as opportunities to branch the franchise. Despite the importance of this moment, The Guys give plenty of due to Geeks of the Week and more, with super-parodies, musical docs, and a new trailer for Robbie's candidate for best science fiction story of all time. Robbie also gives respect to a mid-western violinist, then they go completely off the rails talking about billionaires in space. Just another day at the podcast.

We are two female STEM professors giving you a peek behind the curtain that is our daily lives. We'd like to say we run off passion and enthusiasm, but most days we are running on coffee and chaos! We are excited to share our thoughts and experiences as we dive into topics involving equity, the Lean In movement, challenges and victories, and the future landscape for women who are at different stages in their careers. The COVID world reignited our motivations to empower and excite women in STEM and young women who are thinking about their future careers. Sometimes we need encouragement, sometimes we need to vent, but mostly we need to know that we are not alone. Follow WISEcast and The Wisest Women on: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn . I think it's safe to say that when you start a podcast and interview people every week you know that a personal story will reveal inner truths that may not be your average topic of conversation. That's why we do it, frankly and this week our friend Chema did not disappoint. What goes on in the mind of an intelligent, capable man when he marries an even more capable woman? Is standing by your woman enough? Are you the kind of husband who needs to accomplish more? Are you the kind of wife who can be content with a husband who supports you but doesn't have his own clearly defined goals? Of course it differs from person to person, couple to couple but we all have some crossover in our individual personality spectrums so it will definitely be easy to relate to some aspects of Chema's archetypal, hero's journey no matter where you find yourself. Chema addresses having-it-all at the age of 26 but also dealing with the potential for divorce and bankruptcy by 29. Can the Landmark Forum be the key to his new definition of “success?” Is there a chance for a future with Lisa, his wife if all the patterns of unhappiness together seem to be on a never-ending cycle? Throw in a paradigm-shift of how he digests world-politics through narrative-driven mainstream media, transforming from a write-in voter for Bernie Sanders to a die-hard Ben Shapiro fan and you have a 30 year old husband/father/man who is forced to look at the world in a completely new way, rediscover himself and grow into the man he never knew he needed to be. It's crazy. But we're humans, so don't act so surprised. Coop&Myan are transitioning themselves as Unofficial changes locations and aggressively searches for it's core-audience. Is having unique, original content enough? Do the boys need to devote every free moment to promoting on social media and change their format from a Junk-drawer to a surgical scalpel in order to survive the vast competition in the Podcast Universe? Time will tell so keep listening and tell your friends. And a huge thank you to our devoted fans and our growing family of Unofficial guests. It literally couldn't be done without you all.
Do you address your anger issues? Are you in therapy? Do you attend couples counseling with your significant other? Do you take 5-10 minutes to calm down before you react to a situation? Do you talk to yourself before you get in the car to prevent reactionary road rage? Do you do anything to re-wire your stress related habitual behavior on your path to self improvement? Survival??Happiness??? If you choose to handle stress with a handle of Tito‘s and an eight ball of Coke this episode of Unofficial could change your life. Jonny Brooks or “Jonny Boy“ aka Jonny Marfa, selflessly shares his grind-it-out process of being a better man. We also get a taste of his original music at the end of the show, find out about his upcoming performance as “Harvard” in Lifeplan in LA's infamous Fringe Festival next month and dig deep on the inner workings of a viral Geico commercial you probably saw him in where he rocked your face off. We go a little over on our standard Thursday format this week but for good reason, Jonny Brooks is one of the coolest, silliest, bad-assiest creators Unofficial has had the fortune of bringing to the Podcast Universe and Coop and Myan take full advantage by opening up and digging deep into hands-down one of the most complex and courageous offerings a friend has ever allowed the boys to explore. So erase your road rage, ice your knees, do a hundred takes, eat Mr. Marfa's Muffins, stop having tacos with Jesus and smash those roofi-tinis to the ground like the goddamn hero you are. Because we're here for constant creation and we got no time for knuckleheads.
