80+ Ideas for 15 Minutes or Less with Your Horse https://stridesforsuccess.com/15 Groundwork & Energy Live Webinar https://stridesforsuccess.com/energy 3 Days to Successful Lunging https://stridesforsuccess.com/3days Nostalgia is a funny thing. It often causes us to look back at or reminisce about past experiences with rose-tinted glasses. And your horse riding journey is no different. Especially when you're thinking about getting back in the saddle after a significant breakaway. When you remember all of the adventures you've already had when it comes to horses and riding, it can sometimes leave you questioning if there's any way it could ever hope to be like that again… And that doubt over how good getting back in the saddle could be is one of the big reasons riders never take the next action. They don't go out and tack up. Or they stop exploring riding clubs, or schools that are nearby. And that is such a shame… While you're paused because you're worrying if a new riding experience could possibly measure up to ‘what was' for you before; you're missing out on the very real possibility that things could actually be even better. Today I want to explore how this is a very real (and even more probable) outcome for you if you finally take the plunge and take action on getting back in the saddle after a break. You assume all associated risks. We strongly encourage you to perform your own due diligence and work with a trusted advisor or professional or a competent attorney who understands your unique practice needs. Today, we're discussing why it's crucial to routinely revisit your Communication Policy with a trusted professional or a competent attorney with knowledge of this space. But first, let me say this to the Physician who needs to hear it: A well-written, often updated, and routinely revised Communication Policy is a form of self-care. Not only is it for the Physicians' mental and emotional health, but it's also for the Patients' benefit. A well-written, often updated, and routinely revised Communication Policy helps maintain a healthy work-life balance, gives structure to your responses, and is critical to a successful marriage! In concierge medicine, a good communication policy and a secure messaging platform should free Physicians up to do what they do best. These two things working together should give you, your Practice and your Patients the freedom to respond to messages at their convenience, address questions promptly, and automatically document interactions in the patient's EMR. Don't look at them as a way to restrict communication. That's what the rest of healthcare attempts to do. You're different, and that's okay. A well-written, often updated, and routinely revised Communication Policy is a set of personal rules that become a matter of professional conscience. Remember, "... it's no longer about being the best Doctor in the world anymore, it's about being the best Doctor FOR the world, FOR your Patients, and FOR your local community." A well-written, often updated, and routinely revised Communication Policy can help you avoid regrets that might otherwise occur. A well-written, often updated, and routinely revised Communication Policy is a choice you make for yourself and will impact you and those closest to you. READ FULL ARTICLE ... Sign Up for the NEW & Free Groundwork Webinar HERE https://stridesforsuccess.com/webinar/ Horses are herd animals by nature. They will always choose to be with 'their herd' when they feel uncomfortable or worried about something. And this can become a big problem for riders. This is partially due to training and development requiring both horse and rider to 'get out of their comfort zone'. Your horse's past training or experiences can also play a big role in how he responds or feels about leaving his 'herd'... And whether you need to build your horse's confidence in himself and you, or focus on retraining him regarding his expectations and yours, it will require time, patience, and consistency to overcome. And a 'herd' does not have to mean a whole field full of horses frolicking and running wild in open pastures. It can mean this, but it doesn't have to! Your horse's 'herd' can be him, his horse friend, and the donkey they share the field with. It can be the one horse he lives 'beside' most of the time, in the neighbouring stable or paddock. Or, your horse's 'herd' can also be the two goats he lives with full-time in the small paddock. Horses, being social creatures, will 'bond' with whoever they spend most of their time with. And once your horse has bonded, it can become quite the performance when you try to separate him from his 'herd'...
