How We Ride The Storm and Thrive • Friday Service Website: www.PastorTodd.org To give: www.ToddCoconato.com/give As we approach a critical moment in history, with the upcoming election just weeks away, we find ourselves in the midst of a storm. The world is experiencing wars, divisions, and unrest, and it can be overwhelming. But as Riders of the Storm, we are not left without hope or direction. Jesus is in the boat with us. He is the One who calms the storms and commands the winds. This is not a time to waver in our faith but rather to ride the storm with boldness, pressing deeper into our calling and growing more on fire for God than ever before. The mission ahead is clear, and we are to step forward with greater faith as we live out our roles in these last days. 1. Matthew 8:23-26 (NKJV) “Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, ‘Lord, save us! We are perishing!' But He said to them, ‘Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?' Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.” 2. Mark 4:39 (NKJV) “Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace, be still!' And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.” 3. Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” 4. Hebrews 12:28-29 (NKJV) “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.” 5. Ephesians 6:13 (NKJV) “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” 6. John 16:33 (NKJV) “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” 7. Psalm 46:10 (NKJV) “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” 8. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 9. Romans 8:28 (NKJV) “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” 10. Matthew 24:13-14 (NKJV) “But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” As Riders of the Storm in these end times, we recognize the turbulence around us, but we are not shaken. Jesus is in the boat with us, and He commands the storm. Our mission is clear: endure, stay focused, and preach the gospel with boldness. This storm is not here to destroy us, but to refine us, to deepen our faith, and to prepare us for the final hour. Let us rise up with more passion, more fire, and more faith than ever before, knowing that we serve a victorious King who has already overcome the world.

Notes: Even though Kate wanted a resolution, the song insisted on being what it is -- a way to stay in the storm. She talks with me about how that felt, and what happened as she kept listening. We explore further -- how do you become a songleader when that's not how you view yourself? How do you write songs, when that feels scary-impossible? What is it about singing together that offers healing, and why is Kate herself drawn to doing things that help people in difficult moments? Where do songs live? I left this conversation with respect and excitement tumbling over each other... I hope you, too, enjoy hearing Kate's perspective. Songwriter Info: Kate Valentine is a registered nurse and founder of Singing Mamas - a national non-profit for maternal well-being, bringing singing groups across the UK and the globe to women and mothers. Kate started with one group in 2011 and while struggling as a single mum to 3 sons and working nights shifts, she set about to get singing mamas free and referred to all new and expectant mums across the UK. There are now more than 200 leaders across 8 countries, with Singing Mamas programmes being delivered in over 50 local authorities, either as community groups or on-prescription through the national health service (NHS). Kate is most passionate about bringing the 'untrained' musician into the work of song sharing, and is driven by a determination to re-normalise a singing culture, where it has been lost. Sharing Info: Yes -- The song is free to share but Kate always welcomes financial and/or networking support if/when folks are so moved. Storms in life is not a new topic. We've heard about taking shelter, hunkering down and riding them out...But what about grabbing ahold of the storm and riding it. This week we are talking about trusting the one who commands the winds and brings the lightning; the one who roars, and his voice is thunder. Rather than taking shelter, this time we're going to try putting on our armor, engaging in the fight and riding the tornado instead of watching the destruction fall around us.

Formed in 1974, 38 Special is still led by co-founder Don Barnes.  Guitarist and lead vocalist, he sang all the bands hits through 1987.  Throughout the years the band has recorded a Double Platinum, 3 Platinum,  and 2 Gold studio albums, which included 12 Top 10 hits!  Their last studio release was Drivetrain.  Award-winning Program Director Ray White, caught up with Don in July of 2018, at his hotel before a show to talk about being the heir apparent to lead the Southern Rock genre after the farewell tours of The Allman Brothers Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd.  He also shares his insights into the making of his first solo album, Ride The Storm, that was released in 2017 after the tapes were lost in the record company's shuffle after it's 1989 recording.  In our "showcase segment," we feature The Charlie Daniels Band - another leader in the Southern Rock movement, that hit its stride in the 1970's.  Their last studio album was Nighthawk.  For more information about our show, visit Classic Artists Today.

Singer, songwriter and 38 Special front man Don Barnes cut an album for A&M Records almost 30 years ago during a five-year hiatus from the band he co-founded and continues to lead. Keenly aware of the "lost" album for years, Andrew McNeice at MelodicRock Records began talks with Barnes last year about bringing the music to a deserving public. Ride The Storm is now set for release on June 30, 2017. "After years of success with 38 Special, I was given an opportunity by A&M Records to create a side project as a solo artist," said Barnes. "I began co-writing with the masterful songwriter and artist, Martin Briley, and when it came time to get into the studio, I was honored to have some of the industry's top musicians on the recording. Just as it was ready to be released, A&M Records was sold through a huge global acquisition and the company changed hands several times. My project was put aside without a release date, but I'm proud to finally present my solo album with some special extras included." In searching for the original masters for Ride The Storm, Don found the only existing copy of a 'rock mix' that was commissioned in 1989 to take a look at how the songs would sound, remixed for a bigger 'rock' impact using today's technology. MelodicRock insisted both the original and updated mixes of the classic album be included in the release - as well as three individual, heavily traded, solo demo tracks that were not included on the original album's playlist. The original tracks were cut by some of the most sought after musicians on the rock scene including Dann Huff, now an award-winning producer for the likes of Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts and others; piano/keyboard whiz Alan Pasqua; the late great Toto drummer Jeff Porcaro and his late brother Mike, who also played bass for Toto; Sammy Hagar's keyboard player Jesse Harms; and former Heart drummer Denny Carmassi. "In addition to these great players, I was privileged to work and collaborate with two very talented producers - Martin Briley and Brian Foraker - both of whom brought a wealth of experience and cool vibe to our sessions," added Barnes. "We had always felt that the combination of these powerhouse players together created a very special album, a unique 'rock classic.' Many who have heard the album say that description still remains true today." The complete Ride The Storm release includes two CDs featuring the album in its original intended form, plus the second 'alternate mix' disc, on which the three additional bonus tracks are added at the end. No artwork was conceived for the original album, so Barnes collaborated with artist extraordinaire Nello Dell'Omo for the stunning Ride The Storm cover. #38Specialband #DonBarnes #SlackerMorningShow101theFox #KansasCityClassicRock #TMobile

Timothy: I can, however, confirm that the recording here, this very podcast, is the mid-season finale of TEEN WOLF, and we have things to say about it! Dustin: Wow, that was an awkward transition. Fine, whatever. Yes, we do have things to say, and you can hear them on podcasts.com and iTunes! It's Zombpocalypse Now! Take a listen!

Dusk Till Done

This is the first of many from Boston's Dusk Till Done crew and friends. We were lucky to have our very special friend, Mr. Danny Howells, grace our decks for close to 1.5 hours at a recent event. We hope you enjoy as much as we did, and more to follow soon... Bio: Danny is one of the few DJs on the scene today that truly has a style of his own. With his passion for all styles of music and infectious personality, Danny has created a unique, eclectic sound that has established him as one of the most in demand DJs in the world. Danny is one of the hardest working and most dedicated individuals in the business with over 20 years experience and a hectic touring schedule that constantly takes him around the world. He's played in the world's coolest clubs and held residencies at places such as Arc, Ministry of Sound, Twilo, Renaissance, The End, and Bedrock, as well as his own Dig Deeper nights worldwide. With a back catalogue of well received mix albums under his belt, he has previously compiled acclaimed mixes for Global Underground, being the only DJ to contribute to not only the main series with his Miami album, but also the 24:7 and Nu-Breed Series. In addition to this, he also compiled a cd for Azuli's Choice series, as well as albums for Renaissance along with three volumes of his own Nocturnal Frequencies series. As a producer he has been responsible for many stand out tracks, including the timeless Persuasion/Repercussion on Bedrock Records, Breathe on Renaissance Records and Kinkyfunk on Yoshitoshi Records. He also hit the charts in 2004 with the Miami hit Dusk till Dawn, which featured the talents of Dick Trevor and Erire. Danny has also had massive dance-floor success with Deep Dish as "Size DDD" and the Eminem sampling "Nobody Listens To Techno". In more recent years he has been focusing on original productions for his own Dig Deeper label, the likes of which have been licensed to mix albums by artists such as Juan Maclean on his DJ Kicks album, and Cassy for her recent compilation on Cocoon. On the remix front Danny has previously mixed records such as Roachford's "Ride The Storm", Madonna's "Get Together", Marco Bailey's "Smooth Drive", and Bent's "Waiting For You". Other artists that have received the remix treatment include We Deliver, Stryke, International Observer, Robbie Williams, David Morales, BT, Chakra, Coco and Stonebridge, Destiny's Child and many more, including most recently Felix Da Housecat's purple tribute, "We All Wanna Be Prince". Building on his discography of original productions is a major priority for Danny, as his Dig Deeper label enters it's third year. Danny has come a long way since his early beginnings in his hometown of Hastings, though his complete love of all music remains the same. Danny is a DJ with a broad musical taste who likes anything from jazz to rock, to pop and anything a bit bizarre. He likes to champion his own special tracks and records that nobody else has latched on to and has a way of combining cutting edge grooves with crowd pleasing dynamics that enable him to connect with his audience making him one of the hottest DJs in the world.
