This installment zeroes in on 2009–2010—two powerhouse years that marked a massive turning point for electronic dance music and the global club scene. By this point, the shimmering dominance of the big room anthems helmed by remix legends like Thunderpuss, Hex Hector, and Victor Calderone had begun to fade. Their reign throughout the late '90s and early 2000s had set the standard for peak-hour energy, but by 2009, a new breed of producers began rewriting the rulebook. The Electro House Revolution This was the moment when Electro House officially took center stage. David Guetta broke into the U.S. mainstream and never looked back, while the Swedish House Mafia began building their empire brick by brick. Artists like Bimbo Jones, Jody den Broeder, Wideboys, Jump Smokers, Mike Rizzo, and Wawa steadily made names for themselves by turning pop into gold—remixing everything from the obvious club fodder to unexpected chart-toppers. Their influence was unmistakable. If their names were attached to a remix, you knew you were in for something massive. What made this shift so monumental is that the remixers became just as famous—if not more so—than the original artists. Guetta and Swedish House Mafia didn't just fill clubs; they packed stadiums and headlined the very festivals that were just beginning to explode in North America. Electronic music wasn't just for the underground anymore—it was pop. Commercial Kings of the Club Charts Yet, while Guetta and SHM were scaling the highest heights, others carved out their own niche—less flashy but no less effective. Remix powerhouses like Cahill, Moto Blanco, and Dave Audé were hitting hard and consistently. Their mixes dominated Billboard's Dance Club charts and brought just the right balance of commercial accessibility and dancefloor credibility. Moto Blanco leaned heavily into Disco House—reinventing the genre with crisp, soulful vocals over chugging basslines and glittery synths. Meanwhile, Cahill and Dave Audé turned pop tracks into pure club fuel, often elevating songs far beyond their original versions. These guys weren't interested in the spotlight—they were all about the sound. And club DJs and promoters knew: if you needed a floor-filler, you grabbed a remix from one of them. Pop Royalty Ascends This stretch also marked a major shift in pop culture, with a new generation of women dominating both the charts and the dancefloor. Rihanna was rising like a phoenix,

I have been wanting to do a best of Almighty mix since the first one I released for Division 4 a few years back. Like the Hex Hector and 7th Heaven anthologies, there is just so much music to choose from, hence the reason I decided to break it up into a part 1 and a part 2. The track selection for part 1 was a long and drawn out process. There were so many songs I wanted to include and before I knew it, I was up to 50+ songs. Coming to my senses, I trimmed this down to 36 tracks sitting in the 124 to 130 BPM range. Part 2 will explore the higher energy remixes from 132 BPM plus. Almighty officially launched in 1989 with their aim to produce dance remixes of tracks that did not have suitable remixes for the club scene at the time. These tracks were mostly covers of the original artists but they do have an extensive list or remixes for original artists as well. My formative clubbing years were in the 90's and the Almighty sound was synonymous with uplifting, driving dance tracks. Almighty had a team of in house remixers/producers as well as remix teams that would come in on an ad hoc basis. John Dixon who went on to form 7th Heaven was an original in house producer. Almighty releases songs with singers, a lot of whom perform under pseudonym's, as a policy for not identifying already famous singer/song writers in the form of 'projects'. Although they were well established in the gay club music scene by the end of the 1990's, Almighty gained world wide attention when they produced and mixed singles for Cher such as "Believe" and "All Or Nothing" (one of personal favourites). They have since gone on to remix songs for Kylie Minogue, Katy Perry, Cheryl Cole, Usher, Beyoncé, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross and even Elvis Presley. Their remixes are aptly titled 'definitive', 'essential', 'transensual', pop'd up' and 'anthem'. If you enjoy hands in the air, pure joy vocals on the dance floor, then this is the mix for you. Get ready for the adrenaline rush that is Almighty. EnjoyAnthony1/ "YOUNG HEARTS RUN FREE" - RESPECT ft. This set specifically focuses on 2005-2006. Electro House had already been bubbling up from the underground, but by 2005, we saw the rise of future DJs who would later become household names. People like David Guetta, Axwell, Kaskade, Fedde Le Grande, and Dave Aude, to name a few. This period also brought me back into the scene after having dropped out because the music from 2002-2004 had become too druggy, dark, and frankly, depressing. I just wasn't feeling what Stephane K & Creamer were putting out at the time. It wasn't until Rick was out of town, and I went to a gay club in Atlanta with my bestie, LeAnn, that I realized the music was shifting. Hearing the Freemasons mix of "Lovin' You More" and "Mesmerized" lit a spark in me, and I knew the landscape was changing—bringing back my excitement for the scene. By this time, the big room stylings of Thunderpuss (Barry Harris and Chris Cox) had come to an end. However, Chris Cox carried on with their big tribal sound, while Victor Calderone, Hex Hector, Tony Moran, and Ralphi Rosario continued topping the Dance Club charts. Peter Rauhofer ventured into darker, progressive sounds—sometimes hitting the mark, other times not—but he was still in high demand, commanding high prices for his shows. If you're craving those memorable hits, Party Favorz has you covered. Check out our Top Dance Songs of 2000-2009 and Top Dance Songs of 1996-1999 sections, where you'll find the biggest chart-toppers in the U.S. For those more into the circuit anthems from this era, head over to our Classic Circuit Anthems section, where a 4-volume set awaits to blow you away. Over the next several years, the production styles of these early 2000s pioneers began to fade, making room for newer DJs like Avicii, Deadmau5, Calvin Harris, Soul Seekers, Wideboys, Freemasons, Moto Blanco, Seamus Haji, and soon after, Swedish House Mafia, among many others. The following decade was truly an exciting time for the Dance Club scene, with EDM becoming the dominant genre, alongside massive festivals that resembled rock concerts. One thing that didn't change was the length of the songs. Unlike today's musical landscape, where dance tracks often clock in at under 4 minutes, DJs back then continued the tradition of long, epic songs, just like their predecessors. I did very little editing here to let listeners experience true club mixes, with full builds and progression, instead of the short, catchy hooks that dominate now. It's worth noting that while Electro House didn't completely dominate the ...

Please enjoy Part 3 - the final 80-minutes - of my 5-hour daytime set at the Crown & Anchor in Provincetown this year over 4th of July week. As I alluded to earlier in my Part 2 notes, this final section is a wild ride! I basically was just like, "f-ck it" and threw whatever I was feeling in the moment against the wall. (especially the last 25-minutes!!)... of course, this usually makes for the best moments. There are quite a few classics in here - "Charlie Brown" (Dave Audé's Coldplay remix), "Heartbreaker/If You Should Ever Be Lonely" (Junior's full 10+ minute anthem!), my own remixes of "Pink Pony Club" (Chappell Roan) and "Love Lift Me Up" (Debby Holiday), and (if you know me) my trademark homage to Hex Hector with his (full-length!) remix of Faith Hill's "Breathe."You'll either love these 80-minutes of music... or wonder "WTF was he thinking?!" ... either way, it's pure me.

You might be encountering a surge of tracks labeled "Afro House." But hold on a minute – isn't that what Progressive House used to be called? This trend of rebranding classic genres isn't new. Remember when Deep House morphed into commercial House, then Future House? Great music deserves recognition on its own merits, not through constant relabeling. Speaking of great music, the recent TikTok wave has unearthed some fantastic reworked Progressive House classics. Think genre pioneers like John Creamer & Stephane K, Deep Dish, Scumfrog, and artists who masterfully used heavy percussion – Chus & Ceballos, Oscar G & Ralph Falcon, Friburn & Urik, Peter Rauhofer, and many more. Tracks like Rui Da Silva's timeless "Touch Me" are getting a fresh spin for modern dance floors, and the results are phenomenal! Back to the Future: Revisiting Millennial Dance Music The cyclical nature of dance music trends is undeniable. Right now, the spotlight's on late-90s and early 2000s classics, with artists sampling or revamping entire tracks. It's a trend we wholeheartedly support, and you can expect to hear these gems showcased in future Club Fusion and Peak Hour sets. This trend sparked a trip down memory lane for us here at Party Favorz. Remember our BackSpin series from way back in our early years? Last year, we aimed to revisit the glory days of 2000s dance music, following up on our popular Ultimate 90s House Classics series. We started with a Millennial Dance Classics series, but the sheer diversity of the decade made it tough to curate a cohesive set. After all, massive hits often land in our Top Dance Songs of the Year anyway. So, we decided to resurrect the BackSpin series! This allows us to delve deeper into specific genres that defined the 2000s dance music scene. Each BackSpin release will focus on a distinct genre, with a sprinkle of Trance and Electronica thrown in for good measure. These sets will typically span a five-year period, featuring a mix of crowd-pleasing favorites and some hidden gems ripe for rediscovery – think "It's Love (Trippin')" by Goldtrix and Andrea Brown or "Addicted To Bass" by Puretone featured in volume 1. For those seeking classic remixes by the likes of Thunderpuss, Hex Hector, and Victor Calderone, fear not! We've already covered those in our Classic Circuit Anthems series from 2014. The BackSpin Reboot: A Journey Through Millennial Dance Music Genres The rebooted BackSpin series will explore the vast and vibrant landscape of Millennial dance music, beyond the big remixes.

TRUE HOUSE STORIES® W/ ROBERT CLIVILLES (C&C MUSIC FACTORY) # 120 INTERVIEWED BY LENNY FONTANA Robert Clivillés was a resident DJ in club Better Days in the late 1980s. David Cole was the resident keyboardist there and the two became firm friends. In the late 1980s, Clivillés and Cole were active in the groups 2 Puerto Ricans, a Blackman, and a Dominican and the 28th Street Crew. At the time, they were the driving force of the short-lived Brat Pack. The duo was also responsible for the formation of pop group Seduction, for whom they wrote and produced a string of top-10 hits. They contributed to the career of former Weather Girls vocalist Martha Wash, who at the same time was one of the lead vocalists for the dance act Black Box. In 1990, Clivillés and Cole released a single featuring later C+C Music Factory rapper Freedom Williams, called "Get Dumb! (Free Your Body)", as The Crew. The duo's biggest success, however, was the group C+C Music Factory, which became a worldwide sensation in 1991. After the death of his partner David Cole in 1995, Robert Clivillés continued to keep the C+C legacy alive through his own production work. In 1995, he released a solo single under the name C+C Music Factory, called "I'll Always Be Around" (#1 Billboard Dance/Club Play), on MCA Records. This was the final #1 Dance/Club Play hit for C+C Music Factory. An album titled C+C Music Factory was released by MCA in 1995 in Europe, but didn't come out in the US. This was the final studio album of new material to be released under the C+C Music Factory name. The same year, Columbia/SME Records released Ultimate, a greatest hits collection featuring a compilation of remixes and album versions of C+C Music Factory's Sony Music Entertainment singles. Two singles were released in conjunction with the album: "I Found Love" (#13 Dance/Club Play), and "Robi Rob's Boriqua Anthem" (#29 Dance/Club Play), which featured Spanish-language reggae artist El General. In October 1996, Clivillés released an album of new material under the name Robi-Rob's Clubworld. The first single from the project, "Shake That Body", featured emcee Ya Kid K, formerly of Technotronic. The second single, "Reach", was a collaboration with Hex Hector, and featured vocals from longtime C+C vocalist Deborah Cooper. This was the final recording to include piano tracks recorded by the late David Cole. In the 2000s, Clivillés worked with the group MVP, releasing two studio albums with the group. In 2010, C+C Music Factory reformed, with Eric Kupper stepping in to replace Cole. In May 2015, Clivillés made his debut on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs chart with the song "Set Me Free", featuring vocals by Kimberly Davis of the band Chic. The music video for "Set Me Free" makes reference to Clivillés' father's suicide. In June 2021, Clivillés produced and released the song "Yo Soy Latino (Vamos a Bailar)" by Latinos Del Mundo

This time, the beat is wild, and the rhythm is tribal. We're here to take you on a sonic adventure that has everything from nostalgia to the latest big tribal house hits. We kick things off with a heart-rending tribute mix dedicated to an icon whose recent loss is still a heavy weight on our hearts. Who can forget the magnetic song "Nothing Compares 2 U" from 1990? Well, Israel's Tomer Maizner has turned this tear-jerker into an enormous big room remix. It's a tribute that manages to honor the original while turning it into a colossal sing-a-long for the broken-hearted. Not to be left behind, Kylie Minogue's unstoppable summer hit "Padam Padam" is transformed into a big room sensation by Toy Armada, an artist known for his creativity and flair. The essence of circuit tribal house is alive and well, especially with collaborations like the one between Toy Armada and Jace M on hits like "Alone" by Kim Petras, featuring Nicki Minaj. Their combination delivers a force that resonates with the dance floor, leaving everyone craving more. But what's a summer without some classics reinvented? Guy Scheiman makes a triumphant return with a progressive remake of Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff," while Dario Xavier adds his unique touch to current hits and classic Eurodance sensations. These sounds, rich with the essence of circuit anthems, will have you dancing like never before. Party Favorz's commitment to innovation is also reflected in our efforts to blend the Circuit & Anthem series with our Tea Dance collections. The goal? To enhance the listening experience without becoming repetitive. And when we call upon our creative geniuses like Jace M & Toy Armada, they rise to the challenge. The mantle of remix duty, once filled by the likes of Hex Hector, Almighty, and 7th Heaven, now proudly resides with Dirty Disco, creating floor-stompers that are original and mesmerizing. Our love for the dance floor goes beyond one style, as Dirty Disco brings gems like Rita Ora's "You and I" and "GODDESS" by Keeana Kee and Ariana Castelli. These tracks encapsulate the spirit of the LGBTQ community, uplifting and empowering. Keep an eye on DJs like Ray Isaac, who's taken his game to a whole new level. With remixes of Eurovision winners and potential pop superstars, Isaac shows that Dirty Disco isn't the only game in town, as he carves a niche for himself in the world of circuit anthems and circuit tribal house.

Following up from The Best Of Hex Hector Part 1 comes The Best Of Hex Hector Part 2. This second part covers his remixes that move into the higher energy, higher BPM range. The set kicks off at 132 BPM and progresses up to the high 130's by the end. There are some absolute classic tracks here from artists such as Shannon, Faith Hill, Gloria Estefan, Whitney Houston, Angie Stone, Celine Dion and Britney Spears. I couldn't decide which Jennifer Lopez track to use so I put two on - ""Love Don't Cost A Thing" and her monster hit "Waiting For Tonight". I've placed a few male vocals on here as well including Ricky Martin, Kevin Aviance and Marcus. This set highlights the partnership that Hex Hector had with Dezrok as they worked together on many of these mixes. There are also a number of HQ2 mixes with Mac Quayle. This set is high NRG from start to finish and encapsulates the style I came to love from the one and only Hex Hector. I've been planning this mix for months now and so excited about it...so it brings me huge joy to finally get it to you.  I'll tell you about the influences that helped me create it and then I'll tell you about why I envision it as "Fire Island" house music.  First, the influences.  I was lucky enough to live in Philly during the glory days of clubbing (the 90s). Because of my close proximity to NYC I was going to clubs on a near-weekly basis listening to internationally famous DJs such as Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, DJ BUC (RIP), Hex Hector, Louie Vega, Danny Tenaglia and Morabito to name a few.  I was going to clubs such as Sound Factory, Roxy, Limelight and Sound Factory Bar(and of course the Pavilion on Fire Island).  Those DJs were the most influential to me -- and largely molded me and my style of DJing from the very beginning.  So that's a quick bit about where my influences come from.  About why I envision this music as "Fire Island" house music:  It was almost always a guarantee that me and my friends would stay in the clubs and parties until the very last note rang out -- usually in the wee hours of the morning.  During the Autumn, Winter and Spring the above-mentioned clubs were the places to be.  As the nights turned into mornings the sound would transition to a spin-chilling sound that was laden with pianos, horns and sweeping melodies.  Morning music was a thing and it had a most definite sound.  It was jazz, funk, disco and urban influenced.  During the summertime the center of gravity in New York moves out to the most magical paradise of the Fire Island Pines and Cherry Grove.  That same clubbing blueprint is enacted at the Pavilion in the Pines.  I have been fortunate to spend more nights than I can count experiencing that glory.  But it isn't just about clubbing on Fire Island.  House culture is a huge thing on the island.  One can walk the boardwalks at 3PM or 3AM and it is guaranteed that there will be music wafting through the air.  And it's not just any music.  It's *THIS* music.  Because this music is melodic and rooted in "real" music...it is also versatile and perfectly aligns itself with not only early morning clubbing but also lazy days by the pool and on the beach. About this particular mix:  I hope you love hearing it as much as I loved creating it.  It's something of a tale of two sounds (that perfectly belong together).  The first half of the mix is made up of stunning piano house pieces. I then transition into a more vocal-centric sound the second half of the mix that is influenced by that jazz, disco and funk that I speak about above.  Every note you hear...started in my heart.  As I always say...from my HEART...to your EARS.  Love.  #/Artist/Title/Remix01.  Moon Rocket/Main Piano/Piano & Strings Intro02.  Wayne Cooper/The Piano Song/Teddy Douglas Remix03.  Daisuke Miyamoto/Dawn/Original Mix04.  Danny Tenaglia/The Brooklyn Gypsy/Original Mix05.  Jo Paciello/The Big Sun/DAN:ROS Remix06.  Shortcut/Love Like This/Original Mix07.  Rona Ray/Feel The Groove/Original Mix08.  De' Lacy/That Look/Roger Garcia & George Calle Disco Lights Vocal09.  Chocolate Fudge Band/Everything/DJ Fudge Extended Mix10.   Caio Cenci/Bad Girls/Extended Mix11.   Gianni Santoro/Going Up/Vibe Mix12.  Neal Conway/Darlin Darlin Baby/Spen & Thommy's Original13.  Karen Harding/Free To Love/David Morales Disco Juice Mix14.  Ferrari & Bergamasco/People Hold On/F&B Club Mix

I've been looking forward to doing a Hex Hector anthology for a long time but he has such a massive catalogue of remixes, I wasn't sure as to how I would approach it. I decided to split it into two parts. The first part being remixes with BPM's from 126 to 132 and the second part with remixes from 132 and up. That being said, it took me three weeks to select a body of mixes for part one and narrow that down to the final 32 tracks featured on this first edition. From what I've been able to find out, Hex Hector (Hector Ortiz) started producing music back in 1992 in New York. His sound was synonymous throughout the 90's and 2000's where he became famous for remixing songs for artists such as Deborah Cox, Whitney Houston, Gloria Estefan, Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, Ricky Martin and the list goes on. For anyone who was going out to clubs in that era, you would be well aware of his mixes of songs such as "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here" by Deborah Cox and "Heartbreak Hotel" by Whitney Houston. Hex's mixes took us on a journey and generally clocked in at 8 minutes plus. Not like the 'extended mixes' of today which barely make it to 3 minutes. He mastered the drop and build in infectious house/club mixes and playing one of his mixes (of which I played many) would guarantee the dance floor being full. Hex worked with a few regular producers such as Dezrok, Soul Solution and Jonathan Peters and he even formed a production duo with Mac Quayle called HQ2. The man is a true legend of the club world and this first edition of the best of Hex Hector features 32 all time classic house and club remixes over 4 hours which are guaranteed to keep you moving with your hands in the air. Party Favorz is back with the long-awaited continuation of our Top 2000s Dance Music Classics series, featuring some of the biggest hits from 2003 to 2004. Get ready to relive the golden era of dance music, with tracks like David Morales feat. Lea-Lorién's "How Would U Feel," The Roc Project feat. Tina Arena's "Never (Past Tense) (DJ Tiësto Remix)," Elton John's "Are You Ready For Love (Mylo's Road Map To Peace Remix)," Kurtis Mantronik presents Chamonix's "How Did You Know (77 Strings)," and Felix Da Housecat's "Silver Screen Shower Scene (Thin White Duke Mix)." This period was a time of transition, with progressive and electro house emerging as popular genres while DJs like Thunderpuss, Victor Calderone, and Hex Hector became household names. While some of the top songs of the time had a darker sound, this series focuses on the alternative versions of the dance hits and an emerging sound that would inspire a whole new group of superstar DJs in the near future. This series runs adjacent to Party Favorz's Top Dance Songs of the Year from 2000 - 2009 companion series, showcasing the diversity of dance music that was not always present in what promo services were promoting to DJs. With gems both big and small, the Top 2000s Dance Music Classics series is a must-listen for anyone who wants to take a trip down the not-so-distant past. So, let's go back to the early 2000s and relive the sounds that got us to where we are today. Until the next time...ENJOY! Mardi Gras has popped up so quickly this year. World Pride is kicking off as Mardi Gras comes to a close this coming weekend, which is the last weekend of February. This edition of Mardi Gras Anthems arrives a couple of days before the big party which is celebrating it's 45th anniversary. For this set I wanted to present a more house flavoured disco/pop sound. These are all songs I have heard at the MG party over the years with the exception of a couple which came out last year. The set kicks off with Cyndi Lauper's timeless classic "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" remixed by the Ghostbusterz. Division 4 works his magic on three remixes here for Belinda Carlisle, Taylor Swift and Whitney Houston. His remix of "So Emotional" is the definitive mix in my opinion. Dirty Disco, who is playing at World Pride/Mardi Gras events features four amazing remixes at the front and back end of the set. Melbourne based remixer Luin turns out a funky mix of Madonna's "Who's That Girl". Check out his soundcloud page for stacks of great remixes.. Subesque's house classic "Ain't No Love" is updated by Jet Boot Jack who is turning out some really great remix productions. It wouldn't be a MG anthems edition without remixes from 7th Heaven, Hex Hector and Wayne G. All feature remixes here. Gloria Gaynor's classic anthem is remixed by Dirty Disco and the set closes out with Debby Holiday's uplifting "Joyful Sound" and finishes with Beyonce's amazing "Listen" mixed by DJ Escape & Dom Capello. This years MG anthems is a vocal diva journey. Have fun and be safe. Party Favorz is back with one of our bucket list items that move us from the Ultimate 90s House Classics into the millennium. I took a different approach to this series, which immediately becomes obvious with the title. First, I started with 1999 because it is possibly one of the best years in dance music history. Many of today's biggest hits have reworked samples that have been turned into massive anthems for a new generation of partygoers. Everything from the late Paul Johnson's "Get Get Down," "Lady (Hear Me Tonight) by Modjo," "9 PM (Til I Come)" by ATB to "Around the World (La La La La La) by ATC and "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eifel 65 have been plucked from the dance music annals breathing new life into the originals. Heck, even our lady Bey's smash album "Renaissance" is packed with samples from bygone eras. The other thing you'll notice is that this first set spans 4 years. The millennium was a great time for the evolution of dance music from Progressive House which began in the mid-90s and exploded by the end of the decade, to Trance, Techno, Hard Dance, French House, Filtered House, Funky House, Electro House and music that combined elements of all these genres. Of course, the advancement of technology had a lot to do with the abundance of offerings but it was human ingenuity that pushed the boundaries of what House Music could be. Needless to say, it's difficult to focus on just the hits because there were so many memorable underground hits as well depending on where you lived and the bars you frequented. If you're looking for the big room progressive sounds by Hex Hector, Victor Calderone, Peter Rauhofer, Thunderpuss, Junior Vasquez, or Jonathan Peters — you're better off revisiting our Top Dance Songs of the Year series, which starts in 1996 but it's 1999 and beyond you're after. Frankly, 1999 needs to be expanded but I haven't gotten around to it. Equally, five out of the six DJs mentioned have their own Legacy series linked in this article. Depending on what decisions are made with the future of Party Favorz next year — I may go back and do a series with just the big room progressive house anthems featuring these DJs and others. That could be a lot of fun. However, for this series — they were not included. I wasn't sure how this would turn out but this and the upcoming volume 2 have been on repeat in my car for several weeks now as I worked out the final track selections and I'm pleasantly surprised. There is a good deal of House Music styles here with some more Progressive House as it got redefined along with some long-lost gems that even I had completely forgotten about. These sets are long but what's nice is that you'll be surprised with each turn within the set. For the House purest, I had long ago created the purer Millennial House Music Classics series. I'll likely wrap up this series with two sets of 2003 - 2006 and 2007 - 2010 sometime in January. For now, I invite everyone to take a journey with me to a not-so-distant past. It may make you feel old but honestly, if this is your scene — you were part of the cool kids. For our young listeners and aspiring DJs — there's a lot of inspiration contained within these sets. Frankly, you could drop most of these songs in any modern set and nobody would be any wiser. That's how good they are. Until the next time...ENJOY! Anne Johnstonbrown interviews R&B recording artist and television actor Terry Dexter:Terry Dexter was born in Detroit, Michigan. Dexter's father also a singer, exposed her to a range of music especially from Detroit born artists during her childhood such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Anita Baker and also other music genres such as country and jazz. She began writing songs and singing in her uncle's church gospel choir at the age of 6. Her aunt who is a gospel singer and musician taught Terry her first gospel songs. From the age of 9 to 14, Dexter was a lead singer in the four-piece band Tristar who played live all over the Detroit area and neighboring cities. She began singing background for other artists at age 11, most notably for Simply Red. At age 13 she signed to Elektra Records, but an album on the label never materialized. Dexter signed to Warner Bros. Records in 1998 in her late teens, and she released her eponymous debut album and two singles from the album, "Better Than Me" and "Strayed Away" in 1999 (although her debut single, "You'll Never Miss Me ('Til I'm Gone)" featured on the "Rush Hour" film soundtrack was released via Warner Bros. subsidiary Reprise Records). She then moved to A&M Records and was featured on the single "Magic" alongside 'The Black Eyes Peas' as part of the "Legally Blond" film soundtrack but left the label without having released an album. Dexter's critically acclaimed second album, Listen, spanned two singles and was released via Penny's Gang Records/Universal in 2008. Dexter's voice and songwriting skills has been featured on music releases by Patti Labelle, Jaheim, Eric Benet, Wynona Judd, Micheal McDonald, Eminem, Paul Taylor, Preston Glass, Will.i.am and the late great George Duke. On the electronic music genre side Terry has been featured alongside DJ/producer mavens: Roy Davis Jr, Hex Hector, Steve Hurley, Juan Hoerni, Agent X, Corvino Traxx, DJ Peran and more.Dexter's voice and songwriting has been featured in TV and film such as, "The L Word", "Not Easily Broken" "Kings and Queens" "Burn Notice", "Cover", "The Game", "Deliver Us From Eva" "The Real O'Neals" and "Family Guy". She also co-wrote and recorded the theme song to the NBC television series The Playboy Club as well as her voice being featured on songs also featured in the show such as her soulful rendition of "Walk Like A Man" which was included on the aligning soundtrack released on Verve Records.Dexter made her feature film debut in Deliver Us from Eva (2003). She was later approached by film director and playwright David E. Talbert, who recruited her to star as the female lead character, Tyme Prentice, in his musical Love in the Nick of Tyme (opposite Morris Chestnut). She's appeared in indie films such as "Brickwalk Walk Cafe", "Tent City USA", and the powerful award-winning, "Battle Buddy" in the role of Sgt. Rainey. It's remix time!

The original set was updated so that the Josh Harris remix of 'Proud' by Heather Small was switched out for the original remix by Illicit and the transition from 'We Are Family' by Sister Sledge was pushed out by 15 seconds for a smoother transition. We have finally reached the end of the Ultimate Gay Anthems & PRIDE Classics series and this fifth volume does not disappoint. I cannot begin to describe how difficult it is compiling and mixing this massive series. The decision process alone determining which songs make the cut and those that get left behind is a painful process. So, if there's anything you feel is missing — it'll likely make an appearance on the forthcoming Essential Gay Anthems For A New Generation set(s) I have planned for next week. I've been syphoning new remixes for songs that will be included and placing them into their own special folder and will collect our favorites since the original series began and compile everything into possibly two massive sets. For this final set, which represents a very specific time period between the 90's and say the first 15 years of the millennium with updated classics from those periods as welll as the 80's — I want to recognize the DJs that have not only filled our lives with so much joy but enriched them with their mastery and midas touch when it comes to reworking other artists. Over the course of this 5-set journey, the bulk of the biggest names have already been reconized in our Legacy series, which honors the work of not only the living but the deceased members of this elite community. It's no wonder that Hex Hector, Junior Vasquez, Ralphi Rosario, Tony Moran, Freemasons, Almighty, 7th Heaven, DJ Barry Harris, Thunderpuss, Victor Calderone, Toy Armada & DJ Grind, Wayne G and Jonathan Peters make up the bulk of what's presented here. No other DJs have contributed so much to our happiness and for that — we are most grateful for the joy they've brought to our lives. Keep in mind that while this series is a pretty fucking big deal and massive in scope and size — in no way does it discount or relegates artists, DJs and allies to the LGBTQ+ community not mentioned or represented in this series any less worthy. Party Favorz is back with volume 2 of the Ultimate Gay Anthems & Pride Classics and the gay just keeps getting gayer. To be honest, I only had an outline in my mind about what I wanted to achieve with this 'ultimate' gay anthems series. It wasn't until I started putting it together that I realize just how difficult it was going to be. In most cases, I'm trying to stick with the original versions but in other instances — I'm finding it better to go with more current remixes of the same track to keep the pace and overall flow tight. This becomes more evident once volume 3 drops later this week. No need to worry because these updated remixes stay true to the original. Because of the diverse styles included here, I found that key mixing only works for some songs but the need to change direction becomes necessary so as not to have the same style used for long stretches. That's where matching the percussive elements of each song come into play even when the styles are different. There is no software for that and it's just something I learned to do a long time ago when I either got stuck or needed to change the energy of the mix. Equally, I find myself having to re-edit many of the overly ambitious remixes that have extended drops that take you nowhere. That only happened twice in this set but considerably more in the upcoming volumes. However, I did leave 'Un-break My Heart' by Toni Braxton alone this time. This is the first Hex Hector remix that really sparked his star (even if it was done with Soul Solution) but it was clear he hadn't totally worked out his drop technique yet. Editing this song is easy but since I've never let it run all the way through before — I thought this would be the time to leave it in its full glory because it's not overly long. Any of you following the Roe v Wade issue currently exploding in the United States know that I get overly heated on political issues. After the draft opinion by SCOTUS was leaked in advance of its official release in late June — I've become inconsolable — and you should be too. What I see coming down the pipeline affects everyone — not just women. I'll have more to say about it likely at the end of all these Pride mixes because I want to be as clear and precise as to the fallout from this decision and how serious we should all be taking this. For now, I just want everyone to be free gay and happy. Lot's a great stuff heading your way. Until the next time...ENJOY! Party Favorz is officially kicking off the 2022 Gay Pride season early with volume one of the Ultimate Gay Anthems & PRIDE Classics series. These sets are a massive update to the original Gay Pride Classics sets that were originally released in 2014 (It Get's Better, Love Sensation, True Colors, Together Again & We Are Family). This and the forthcoming volumes primarily focus on gay anthems that were released in the 90s through the first half of the millennium. As far as Party Favorz is concerned, this is the golden age of club music with so many entries for inclusion it was painful to drop just one song. However, there are some newer songs that go past that timeline that have become staples in the Gay Pride arsenal as well. The majority of newer anthems will be included in the upcoming 'Ultimate Gay Anthems For A New Generation' release scheduled for later in the month. Since the original release, there has been a glut of remixes for instantly recognizable classics who's original version didn't quite fit in with the overall flow of this release so we went with the updated versions. To be certain, this is not the same series as the original releases. Barry Harris and Dirty Disco have been the main contributors who have preserved and modernized many of our favorite gay anthems. Speaking of which, you're going to find a hefty dose of other legends like Hex Hector, Junior Vasquez, Ralphi Rosario, Freemasons, Victor Calderone, Wayne G, Almighty and 7th Heaven amongst the many songs included here. Over the years, we've had a lot of calls for the creation of a best of the Diva Hall of Fame. While there are currently no plans to create such a series because it's a bit redundant — consider these final Gay Anthem releases to be just that. The tracklist alone on this series reads like a who's who of our favorite divas who've been inducted into the Hall of Fame including those one or two-hit wonders that never went beyond the kind of recognition they rightfully deserved. You will notice in this initial tracklist a little something, something by one our personal favorites K.D. Lang. The one solid remix missing from her induction into the Diva Hall of Fame was a great remix of 'Constant Craving.' I don't want to speak ill of the person who did the remix that was included in the release but it was really bad and there weren't any other options at the time of its release. Enter the fabulous legendary Tracy Young. It appears Tracy created a remix of 'Constant Craving' in late 2021 after the release of our Diva Series, which may be updated to include it later this year and can be purchased here for diehard fans. I could go on and on about how much fun this set was creating and all the headaches entailed in working in a diverse setlist like this but that would only suck the joy out of listening to it. Following hot on the heels of Mardi Gras Anthems 17 come Mardi Gras Anthems 18. I had to squeeze this one in before I go away for my birthday which happens to be Mardi Gras party/parade night on March 5th. This edition again covers artists with big hits from the 2000's onwards however there are a few classics from the 70's and 80's thrown in to keep the mix interesting. Once again, a huge thank you to Mark from Dirty Disco as 4 of his remixes feature in this set. To kick it off is his funky remix of Paula Abdul's "The Way That You Love Me" followed by Boney M's classic, "Daddy Cool". I had a browse through my 7th Heaven remixes and came up with some gems from the past. Three remixes feature here for Matt Consola, Agnes and Claire Sharpe. I love the musicality of 7th Heaven's remixes, they never fail to deliver. Dirty Disco gave me an exclusive pre release of his collaboration with Debby Holiday "Find A Way" and it is truly uplifting and inspiring. Other standout mixes come from Hex Hector, Freemasons, DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio, and the always reliable Tony Moran & Warren Rigg. Donna Summer, Christina Milian and Rihanna all feature here and the set closes out with an awesome remix of Whitney's "One Moment In Time" by VMC. This 18th edition of Mardi Gras Anthems is pure hands in the air, main room club classics. Anthony "Tony" Moran is a DJ, record producer, remixer, singer and songwriter known for remixing popular songs. In 2007, he hit number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart twice with "Walk Away" featuring Kristine W and "Keep Your Body Working" featuring Martha Wash. Moran also has a total of seven number one hits on the Billboard Dance Club Songs music charts in the United States and he has recently had four number one Billboard chart hits in the years 2016 and 2017.[1] As a remix producer, Moran has remixed work from top music artists including Janet Jackson, Madonna, George Michael, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan, Deborah Cox, Cher, Kristine W and many others. This first set focuses solely on his 90's work when he was the guy you called when you couldn't get David Morales, Junior Vasquez or Hex Hector on the phone. By the mid-millennium after Hex Hector dropped out of the scene and Morales and Vasquez weren't enjoying the success they previously held, Tony Moran's star began to shine even brighter. He slipped into this gap and much of his work with either Jody Den Broeder and Warren Rigg produced some of the most iconic remixes of a generation. That's not to say his 90's output was mince meat because his productions and remixes were impeccable and even though they closely resembled the work of all three DJs above to fit what he was working on — they were uniquely his own. His remix of Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" is quite possibly one for the record books with its big ass tribal beats and high energy synths — the remix was every gay boy's wet dream. Moran was channeling Hex Hector better than the man himself with that remix. Tony Moran would go on to release his own albums featuring some of the biggest divas on the planet, which were major events (pun intended) in themselves. They would generate massive club hits that soaked the world's dancefloors in man sweat. He was a fixture on the circuit scene and his world tours drew massive crowds making him one of the first superstar DJs (next to Tiesto) to capitalize on his name. Tony has had a long and productive career that continues to generate massive #1 Billboard Dance Club hits for Jason Walker and Martha Wash to this day. It is with much love and admiration for a man who got his start doing exactly what I used to do by creating mixtape edits back in the day that Party Favorz honors the multi-talented Tony Moran into our exclusive Legacy series. ENJOY! Ultimately, there will be three to four sets in this series, which will be staggered out through the month of November (possibly into December) as a lot is planned for the last two months of the year. Party Favorz began down the path of the Utimate 90's House Classics on October 10, 2020. One year later, we've finally reached the end of this historical series and what a journey it's been. Volume 6 wraps up the remaining massive progressive club hits with a few leftover Classic House tracks from that period. There's virtually nothing in this final set you won't recognize (even if you don't remember the title). The one exception is the Hex Hector remix of Tina Turner's "When the Heartache Is Over," which was widely rumored at the time but never materialized (at least not to the best of my knowledge). The preferred  remix at the time was the Metro Mix. The Hex Hector remix never came across my radar until I started working on the Tina Turner Diva Hall of Fame series earlier this year. It appears that remix may have only been serviced to DJs and being form smalltown America where I drove to San Antonio 4 hours to the north every other month to pick up the latest releases, my only other option was DJ008 website. If anyone remembers that site, it was the precursor to Napster, WinMX and other file sharing services as well as another famous dance music file sharing website who's name escapes me at the moment. Granted, we were on dial-up and downloads could take hours for a single song so you had to be selective and certain about what you wanted or you end wasting countless hours tying up your phone line on just one track. Hence, the trek to San Antonio for the latest club tunes made sense. Besides, I'd make a weekend of it and party at the Bonham Exchange. To make a long story short, I included that elusive version here (though it's not his best work) for those that might be interested. Otherwise, everything included in this series stays true to the time period of the classic song's release. I've already created the artwork, compiled the tracks for the annual Fall Edition and started the mixing process and I'm stoked to be working on current remixes. It will definitely be finished later today giving me enough time to preview it with the exception of two promos not set to drop until next Friday. I have alternate remixes for the tracks if these don't come through on time. Otherwise, I'm set. Expect that set to drop next Saturday. Until then...ENJOY! Party Favorz is back with volume three of the Ultimate 90's House Classics [1998 - 1999] and this set dives deep into progressive territory. We kick the party off with one of our all-time favorties 'Lately' by Divine with Joanathan Peters performing remix duties. With it's ubeat synths and fantstic harmonies — 'Lately' packed floor every time it dropped. Of course all the club favorites from this era are here like Faith Hill's 'Breathe' and the sweeping Hex Hector accompanying remix, 'Sexual' by Amber (a Thunderpuss instant classic), 'I Will Go With You' by Donna Summer that was packaged with the some of the biggest name DJs from that period, 'Someone To Hold' by Veronica showcasing Johnny Vicious' versatility who would go on to be an in demand DJ in the early millennium, Whitney Houston's defiant 'It's Not Right, But It's Okay' (another Thunderpuss instant classic that takes the R&B original and jacks it up by a factor of 100 while blowing a hole in the roof with Whitney's powerful vocals - thank you Clive) and the massive 'You're Still the One' by Shania Twain courtesy of Soul Solution. Some of you may be looking at this track list and scratching your heads over the inclusion of 'Ojos Asi' by Shakira. I grew up in South Texas and the Columbian born singer was already a massive star through Central America, Mexico and various pockets of the United States with large Latino populations. The song has a strong middle eastern sound and was not like anything else on her fourth album the critically acclaimed and multi-platnium 'Dónde Están los Ladrones? It was tacked on to what was otherwise a more rock and acoustic album that elicited comparisons to Alanis Morissette. Once the video dropped for 'Ojos Asi' all bets were off. The song blew up and Shakria had arrived. Under the tutelage of Emilio Estefan (husban of Gloria Estefan), Shakira was primed to cross over into the American market and it would be two years before she dropped her first English language album 'Laundry Service' in the states. The remix for 'Ojos Asi' is often credited to Thunderpuss but was actually Pablo Flores who was also producer on her album. The song was an instant floorfiller upon its release in 1999 and frankly, fits in nicely with the tracks that surround it. Before there was Todrick Hall or Lil Nas X — there was Kevin Aviance. 'Rhythm Is My Bitch' was his second of three #1 dance club hits, which followed his 80's remake 'Din Da Da' and was proceeded by 'Alive' in 2002 with two other top 5 releases 'Give It Up' and 'Strut.' He had a cameo in Madonna's 'Secret' video and has worked with Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston. He was also a member of the vogue-ball house 'House of Aviance' and was a gender bending leader who paved the path for others. Check out the video below: https://youtu.be/Nk7GilPqr1I I've still got two possibly three more sets to go in this series. I'm setting a goal of getting them all out this next week without sacraficing tracks or quality. It gets harder once you start getting to the bottom but I'm convinced I can work it out. After a multitude of successful girl groups throughout the nineties — it was time for the boys to give it a go. While TLC was on the tailend of their fame with their explosive release 'FanMail' — the girls were in disaray with constant infighting which ultimately caused them to collapse. Enter stage left, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and 98°. Even though most dance music wasn't being aired at radio (with a few notable exeptions i.e. Cher), the major labels were adept at crosspromoting their artists from radio to the dancefloor. This is where Hex Hector, Davidson Ospina, Soul Solution, Thunderpuss, Pablo Flores and Jonathan Peters come in. These DJs were already having great success in the clubs and easily took their winning formula and applied it to pop hits. Because this period is such a magical time for me, this final series covers a lot of ground from these two years and may even be a tad indulgent. Nevertheless, there was no stone left unturned in creating this final farewell to the nineties. It wasn't my intent to drag this on but unfortunately, there have been a series of diversions this past week that have kept me from knocking this series out. I'm only now getting back into the groove of things so all I ask is for a little patience. Once this series is finished, Party Favorz will be launching back into our regular scheduled releases in October. The Legacy release I had planned will be pushed into November. Party Favorz started the Ultimate 90's House Classic series in the fall of 2020. The overwhelming response to this series has been tremendous — certainly bigger than I thought it would be. A year later, we're now reaching the end of the decade and have pulled out all the stops for what is certainly considered the golden age of House Music. As we noted in earlier editions, the musical landscape began changing in the second half of the decade. After bubbling in the underground for several years before moving into the mainstream, Trance music took on a life of its own. While those tracks are not featured in this series (they'll get their own ultimate classics series soon enough) — Progressive House was the alternate powerhouse genre in the movement fueled by Hex Hector, Victor Calderone, Thunderpuss, Jonathan Peters, Peter Rauhofer (a.k.a. Club 69), Danny Tenaglia, Rosabel, Razor N Guido, Pablo Flores, Junior Vasquez and Johnny Vicioius who blurred the lines between Progressive House and Trance. Probably one of the biggest unsung heroes from this time period is Soul Solution who consisted of Bobby Guy and Ernie Lake. These guys were the go to for many commercial remixes and there's a story there that I can't seem to dig up so I'll just go by what I remember. Don't hold this as gospel because I'm only going by what I remembered. Maybe someone else can shed more light on this story. Soul Solution was their brand but if I remember correctly, the trademark was owned by a major label. When they attempted to leave the label, they weren't allowed to take the name with them. Since their brand was built under this name, it was near impossible to market themselves independently. Though, Ralphi Rosario from Rosabel managed to break out on his own as did Chris Cox from Thunderpuss and Guido Osorio from Razor N Guido but Bobby Guy and Ernie Lake were not household names. It's likely why Hex Hector (who had worked with the guys on the breakthrough remix of Toni Braxton's "Un-break My Heart" in 1996) picked up the slack in the coming years even though he was already in high demand. You'll likely remember a lot of their remixes but less so who remixed them. Party Favorz is here to set the record straight as much of their work will be featured over the next several sets. The major change in club music was no accident but something that was in the making for the better half of the decade and is fondly remembered by club kids (including myself) with 1999 through maybe 2001 being the best the genre servered up. As musical tastes changed, Progressive House eventually gave way to Electro House — another genre that came up through the underground. From some of the more obscure tracks, the biggest club hits including that whole short-lived Ibiza sound — TU90HC has got you covered. I had a lot of fun creating this first set and was taken back by Monifah's "Touch Me," which I had completely forgotten about. There will be a lot of these gems over these remaining sets that are gonna jog your memory and put a smile on your face. Until the next time...ENJOY! I know I said I was going to post the 8th edition of Pride Anthems in July but I got bored waiting :) So here it is now, Pride Anthems part 8. This edition heads back to the 90's and 2000's with some classic remixes from Hex Hector and Dezrok respectively for I5 and Jennifer Lopez. I had a tough time deciding which Moto Blanco remix of Mary J Blige to use but eventually settled on "We Ride". Wayne G delivers two killer mixes for Martha Wash and Icona Pop as do 7th Heaven for Britney's classic "Work Bitch!" and Nick Jay's remake of "Rockin' For Myself" with Carlotta Chadwick. Tommer Mizrahi's remix of Katy Perry's "Chained To The Rhythm" is awesome and Guena LG reshapes Lady Gaga's "Just Dance". The back end of the set closes out with an excellent 2021 remix of Whitney's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" and a stunning reinvention from Nick Stracener on "From This Moment" by Shania Twain. Pride month is in full swing and this 8th edition of Pride Anthems kicks it firmly into high gear. It's always a sigh of relief when I finish one of these epic anthologies and I'm happy with the final product. Volume four of the Ultimate 90's House Classics showcases the splintering of the genre and how more progressive versions of House Music were suddenly taking over dance floors. Club 69 (a.k.a. Peter Rauhofer) who was generally a sexy house music production geared toward gay audiences, changed musical directions quite rapidly. Eventually, the productions became more progressive and frenetic, which would drive peak hour crowds into a tizzy. Club 69 hit it big with remixes for Funky Green Dogs "Fired Up" and Kevin Aviance "Din Da Da" amongst many others during this period. At the same time, Tony Moran, Junior Vasquez, Victor Calderone, Ralphi Rosario and Hex Hector were beefing up their sound while making it more palatable to a mainstream audience giving the genre and even further reach.  This is not to say the House Music in its purest form wasn't still king as evidenced by the multitude of #1 club songs included in this final set. But, this new sound was embarking on something much bigger that would eventually takeover not only the charts but dance floors in the coming years. Everyone found their place or shall I say true calling as a DJ and no longer were these guys just a DJ, two turntables and a microphone (thank you Beck). They were stars in their own right that could pack a venue. Perhaps the biggest contributor to their stardom was none other than Clive Davis of Arista records. He saw not just in terms of financial but the need to expand his diva roster's reach into the world of dance and by extension their popularity. After all, where would Deborah Cox be today if it weren't for him pushing her in both angles of R&B and Dance extending her visibility across boundaries. While Party Favorz enjoys all the various genres and tribute sets I put out from Trash Disco, 80's Dance, Eurodance and Trance — I have the most affinity with House Music and its various iterations. The Ultimate 90's House Classics series is dear to my heart. While this series is far from the last word on House Music (as there's just way too much to be included even if the artists and songs deserve it) — it's likely the closest you'll ever find in a comprehensive history of the genre. We still have two more years to go with 1998 - 1999, which are bound to bring back some fond memories for many of you. I'm not certain as to when I'll be dropping those but likely sometime in the summer or no later than early fall. I still have the Ultimate Trance series I've been teasing that I want to get out by the end of the year as well. Until then...ENJOY! Earlier in the decade, Freestyle, Breakbeat, Trip Hop, Hip Hop and Eurodance were all offshoots of House music that went on to be fused together or evolved into their own distinct categories. More notably, the second half of the nineties witnessed a sea change in House music. While Classic House continued to be a staple on dance floors — the sound became more progressive, electronic and tribal as club culture began looking for something fresh and new. Enter Club 69 (Peter Rauhofer), Thunderpuss, Victor Calderone, Tony Moran, Hex Hector, Jonathan Peters, Soul Solution, Rosabel (Ralphi Rosario), Razor N' Guido, Vission & Lorimer and a host of others. The one consistent in this area was Junior Vasquez who easily switched between edgy commercial House and the big tribal beats that would eventually claim the dance floor. In fact, it took the Soul Hex remix (Soul Solution + Hex Hector) of Toni Braxton's "Un-Break My Heart" for the labels to take notice after it exploded all over the dance floor. For the sake of this series — the excellent Frankie Knuckles version was included on volume one of this series. That being said, this new style of music steadily became more dominant that it begins to take over this four volume series and explodes by 1998 - 1999. Other notable mentions in this period are Full Intention, StoneBridge and Love To Infinity who developed a tougher house sound that was commercially appealing and Armand Van Helden with his signature garage house style that sometimes veered into other worlds. The other offshoot that exploded was Trance. Trance had been bubbling in the underground with rave parties that were popular in the UK in the early nineties and eventually found their way over to the US. That's an entirely separate category and will be prominently featured in its own tribute later this year. Just know that many of the big names in Trance started out as house DJs. Rollo & Sister Bliss, Perfecto, Sash! and BT were all making house music prior to jumping over to this genre where they found massive success. After finishing volume two — I've decided to re-visit some of the earlier Legacy entries like Frankie Knuckles, Peter Rauhofer, Thunderpuss and Hex Hector. The original sets feel incomplete and can certainly be improved upon. I'd also like to incorporate more Club 69 remixes into Peter's tribute set since the moniker was key to his overall success. Those are being considered for a much future date as I got a lot on my plate at the moment. In the interim, soak in this heavenly slice of House music history and be sure to turn it the fuck UP! I should have volume three out on Saturday or Sunday and the final fourth volume for this period sometime next week. Until then...ENJOY! We have already reached Episode 6 of 8 in this first season of the brave educator podcast. Dawn Tallman's voice is so magical; and if you don't already know, Tim'm is happy to introduce the world to the power and healing wonder of that voice on the Monday, June 8th episode. In this episode, the two vocalists, songwriters, musicians, and househeads talk about how music, and especially house music, has held a special place in helping them through scars and bruises on the healing journey. The episode features two songs that have continued to inspire Tim'm: Wipe the Needle's "Release" featuring Dawn Tallman, and a song from her long-awaited and highly celebrated 2019 project, For Me, called "Celebrate Myself". As the two talk on the same day that countless protests were happening in the country in the fight for Black Lives, the episode also captures the raw emotion of Tim'm's experience, just before their interview, of being stopped and interrogated by police in what was an all-too-familiar instance that called upon his calm and composure amid such righteous rage. Dawn Tallman is marketed as "The Queen of Gospel Energy" by her record company. She was born and raised in Danbury, Connecticut, and started singing in church and later on was featured in a great number of R&B and dance recordings. She has cooperated with a great number of recording artists and DJs and made part of various ensemble groups traveling internationally. In 1997, she was featured on "Set My Spirit Free" with Kings Of Tomorrow (K.O.T.), in 1999 in remix of "Wake Up" remixed by Hex Hector and in 2000 in Soulstar Syndicate EP Take Me (Mind, Body & Soul). The song charted on SNEP, the official French Singles Chart. In 2005, she was part of U.D.A.U.F.L., an acronym for Underground Dance Artists United For Life, a collaboration of Dance music acts put together by the producer duo Blaze. In 2006, she was featured in DJ Disciple single "Work It Out", released under DJ Disciple's Catch 22 Recordings label, becoming a dance hit record. It was played in Ibiza in 2006, BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong the track appeared on a number of labels and compilations such as Xtravaganza (UK), Blanco Y Negro (Spain), Poole Music (France), Networks (Italy) and United (Belgium). It was a charting hit in Spain. In 2008, "Work It Out" was re-released with remixes by Klass for House Trained Records. In October 2006, Dawn Tallman released a single through West End Records entitled "Save a Place on the Dance Floor For Me" written by West End Records founder Mel Cheren and Warren Rigg and produced by DJ Gomi. In 2015, she was featured on Bob Sinclar's "Feel the Vibe" charting in France, Belgium and Italy, as well as going to number one on the US Dance chart. She released a long-awaited and celebrated project, For Me, in 2019. #dawntallman #househead #blackgirlmagic #blackboyjoy
