Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre was ejected from the House of Commons yesterday after refusing to withdraw a comment that Justin Trudeau was a “wacko” (although he offered to replace it with “extremist” and “radical”). The pearl-clutching Liberals and journalists should be less focused on tone-policing and more on governing, True North's Andrew Lawton says. Plus, a new documentary, Covid Collateral, exposes the harms of lockdowns and the censorship of scientists throughout the pandemic. Filmmaker Vanessa Dylyn joins to discuss. Plus, it's the four year anniversary of the order-in-council that prohibited over 1500 types of firearm and promised a two year “buyback” that has so far never materialized. Rod Giltaca of the Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights weighs in on where things stand. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Rod provides a summary of the recent gun control bill including the handgun ban and the amendments that went after common hunting firearms. Rod also discusses the verdict of the CCFR's court case against the Government of Canada and he discusses property rights in Canada, the gun buyback program, what might be on the horizon and how hunters can help the fight against gun control. The reason for last week's chilly reception to Justin Trudeau in India has been made clearer as Trudeau levelled an accusation that the Indian government was involved in the June killing of Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, B.C. India has rejected the accusation outright, and Canada and India have each expelled one of the other's senior diplomats. True North's Andrew Lawton discusses with columnist and podcaster Rupa Subramanya. Also, the federal government's amnesty period for the guns it banned in May 2020 is set to expire next month, and there is still no “buyback” in place for gun owners to unload their soon-to-be-illegal firearms. Taking Back Alberta? Questions surround right-wing group and its political power. Political science professor at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Duane Bratt discusses what the group is about and the political state of Alberta. Conservatives decry Liberal move to limit debate on the gun bill. Rod Giltaca, CEO & Executive Director - Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights on the show to talk about it. What would you not eat, even if you were starving?
The Liberals have offered up amendments to their sweeping firearms legislation, Bill C-21. The new changes will outsource firearms classifications to a committee rather than codifying the Liberals' ban on specific models. However, firearms advocates point out that this doesn't protect law abiding gun owners. Rod Giltaca of the Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights joins The Andrew Lawton Show to weigh in. Also, despite the Public Order Emergency Commission vindicating Justin Trudeau, there are still legal challenges of the Emergencies Act underway. Christine Van Geyn of the Canadian Constitution Foundation joins to discuss the “last guardrail of accountability” and her article in the C2C Journal. Learn more about your ad choices. Kyle and WSSBC VP Mike Southin welcome Rod Giltaca, President of the CCFR, back to the pod to talk C-21 and all things firearms. A lot has evolved since our last meeting with Rod back in December. We discuss the new provincial firearm regulations that are sprouting up in Alberta and now Saskatchewan, the status of the CCFR court case against the federal government, the success of the CCFR's Scrap C-21 campaign and how two recent amendments were thrown out that affected many Canadian firearm owners.Rod talks about the successes that have been made as we have all stood together to oppose changes that affect law-abiding firearm owners and the need to be even more engaged now.If you are interested in checking out what the CCFR does head over to www.ccfr.ca. During the podcast, Rod mentions some resources for listeners to refer to and they can be found at www.ccfr.download.ca, www.nationalrangeday.ca and www.gundebate.ca.Consider picking up a membership to the CCFR and sending them a donation. They are fighting the good fight and looking after Canadian firearm owners.
We may have found someone in Canada who is even more passionate about firearms than Lewis. Enjoy our conversation with Rod Giltaca from the Canadian Coalition for Firearms Rights.
We welcome Rod Giltaca, CEO and Executive Director of the Canadian Coalition of Firearm Rights (CCFR) to the pod. We dive into the recent amendment to Bill C-21 that will directly affect many law-abiding firearm owners across the country. Rod touches on the history of the bill, the journey it has taken that resulted in a prohibition on handgun sales in Canada, and where we are headed with all of this.A very knowledgeable and impassioned individual, Rod does an excellent job of articulating why we need to address this last amendment. The CCFR has been spending a great deal of time pushing back on these amendments and standing up for the legal ownership of firearms in Canada. It is interesting to note that replica firearms and airsoft guns are being prohibited as well. Be sure to listen out on how and why this will likely affect you even if your current firearm is not on the new list. It is more important now than ever before that we reach out to our elected officials and let them know how you feel about the latest amendment to C-21.The Wild Sheep Society of BC is proud to support the CCFR. Be sure to listen in to see how we are doing it.For more information or to join the CCFR visit them at https://firearmrights.ca/

Good afternoon panel! A couple of things from the past week. Last weekend, I had a listener meetup with Liz and friends to try my hand at pheasant hunting Great to meet up with like minded individuals. Had a great day, but no luck with the hunt. On my way to and from the hunting area, I thought that I would expand my listening library and take in some of the CCFR podcast episodes. After listening to 4 episodes, I believe that I now have a better understanding of Rod Giltaca. Or not. It seems to me that one of the favourite subjects to speak on is "Things I have done". I am sure that the CCFR as an organization does good work on behalf of Canadian firearms owners, but to paraphrase Adhemar from the movie "A Knight's Tale", the podcast has been weighed, has been measured, and has been found wanting. Frankly, I expected a little more. Thoughts on that? Secondly, another appropriate movie reference. My utter contempt and loathing for all things federal government related has been "turned up to 11", after the shenanigans pulled with C21 this past week. Clearly the idiots in Ottawa do not know the difference between an "amendment" and a "complete rewrite"! (FYI, the movie was "This is Spinal Tap", if you were not aware) Looking forward to this week's discussion! Best Regards, Eric From: Gerry RE: Amend This Episode Hello, I appreciate the effort and content you put in the podcasts, but the Amend This episode will be my last. Hearing a person refer to firearms as “weapons of mass destruction” and stating “you have the right to hunt even though you don't need to” in this episode is counter productive and divisive to people who value freedom. The ability to take care of yourself or your family whether it be fishing, hunting or growing food is an essential skill worth learning and may be useful given the situation we face. Marksmanship and accuracy are worthwhile and respectable pursuits that should join the sport shooting and hunting communities. The aforementioned commentary is neither accurate or respectable. Thank you for the past episodes and I wish you the best in future endeavours. I agree, you agree, most agree with your positions. I know, this is a “target audience” world and I found you because I am of like mind. But tonight’s episode of feedback, a listener asked about how to get hunters to care about firearms rights. In my opinion, which is worth a wooden nickel...you need debate. Disagreement. Or a louder personality. Andrew, your potential here is high. I’m a hot head. If you can’t do it, listener call in. Stir the pot boys. Love what you’re doing, but let’s attract more of the fence sitters. Also, none of you should hesitate to get into politics. You’re already comfortable on a microphone with people listening. Keep it up. No boner joke here. Taylor Jack PS: start chronologically keeping track of your Orwellian predictions. I think you’re on the money. Re: Internment Camp Docs Hello there! I want to thank you for covering these important issues that are going on in our nation and world today. I've found it hard to find a podcast that deals with anything Canadian at all. Attached are some documents that detail the bid for these concentration... I mean "internment camps". I am have a limited reach and thought that these may be of use to you. If you already have seen these, than great! I just want to get the word out there as much as possible. Especially since certain countries are no longer hiding the fact that they will hold you indefinitely until you submit to what they want ( New Zealand comes to mind). The message from archbishop Carlo Vigano to the POTUS is a further wake up call. Sorry for the long winded message and hopefully these can be of some use to awaken our fellow Canadians to the fuckery that is going on right before their eyes. Outlined in the pdf files is the bid and what appears to be amendments.
