We have another episode in a series of discussions with well-vetted guests from companies that I feel my community would benefit from hearing about Today, I speak with Dr. Stephanie Venn Watson, a veterinary epidemiologist and the co-founder and co-CEO of Serafina Therapeutics. She has worked with the World Health Organization, DARPA, and the US Navy. She has over 70 patents and has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed scientific papers, and her discoveries have featured on NPR, Science Friday, BBC, NBC, and National Geographic. Her groundbreaking discoveries around the health benefits of C15:0 are the topic of a recent book. In our conversation today, we explore longevity molecules and geno-protective molecules, why they matter, and how they work. We cover the basics of rapamycin and glucophage, then dig into the growing body of research on longevity and lifespan, specifically looking at C15:0, what it is, what it does, why it's important, and how it's the first essential fatty acid discovered in decades. We look at its wide-ranging pleiotropic effects on metabolic health, mood, sleep, the brain, gut, and immunity, as well as the signs of low C15:0 levels and the specific labs that can identify a deficiency. We also talk about the benefits of supplementation and improved bioavailability. Since I have been taking C15:0 myself over the last four to five months and noticed improvements in my recovery and sleep, I'm excited to share this informative and helpful conversation, humbly dedicated to the essential saturated fatty acid, C15:0. IN THIS EPISODE, YOU WILL LEARN: • The role C15:0 plays in guiding the aging process and new findings about its benefits for the immune system, brain, and longevity • C15:0's emerging importance as a key player in metabolic balance • What Dr. Venn-Watson's animal studies revealed about the mechanisms of aging in humans • Why women in midlife become more vulnerable to shifts in immune quality and cellular resilience • The ways nutritional deficiencies can appear in blood markers long before symptoms develop • What occurs with red blood cell stability and aging markers when C15:0 levels are too low • Which biomarkers are now being considered early indicators of biological aging • Formulation features of C15:0 that enhance its bioavailability • The multiple bodily systems that can benefit from supplementing with C15:0 Connect with Cynthia Thurlow Follow on X, Instagram & LinkedIn Check out Cynthia's website Submit your questions to support@cynthiathurlow.com Join other like-minded women in a supportive, nurturing community (The Midlife Pause/Cynthia Thurlow) https://www.facebook.com/groups/themidlifepause Cynthia's Menopause Gut Book is on presale now! We live in the age of information. With all its wonderful benefits, it also comes with a subtle erosion to the way of Jesus. It's far too easy to hear all that Jesus has to say and simultaneously do nothing with His teaching. But Jesus offers a stern warning and a shocking visual for anyone who would continue in that pattern and approach in relationship with Him. While there is a strong warning, there is also immense hope for those who heed it. What will we do with it? CITY CHURCH EXISTS TO HELP PEOPLE FIND THEIR WAY TO GOD FROM WHERE THEY ARE. In this episode, Matt and Chris return to the studio to tackle the growing obsession with supplements and synthetic nutrients in modern health culture. Using creatine, peptides, and GLP-1 drugs as examples, they question whether our fixation on isolated nutrients is leading us further away from true health. Drawing from decades of nutrition and wellness experience, they argue that the real solution lies in returning to whole, unprocessed foods — “eating food, not nutrients.” The hosts break down how overreliance on synthetic supplements and appetite-suppressing drugs contributes to nutrient deficiencies, muscle loss, gut issues, and declining metabolic health. Through stories, research, and real-world insights from the supplement industry, Matt and Chris make a compelling case for rethinking our relationship with food, simplicity, and balance.

Understanding the Link Between Gut Health and Nutrient Absorption in KidsThis week on the Natural Super Kids Podcast, we're digging into a topic that's left many parents scratching their heads: “My child eats well… so why do they still have low iron or nutrient deficiencies?”It's a frustrating reality for many families — you're doing all the “right” things with food and maybe even supplements, but those blood tests or ongoing symptoms just aren't shifting. The truth is: it's not always about what kids eat; it's about what they absorb. In this podcast episode, we're unpacking how gut health plays a powerful role in nutrient absorption and why deficiencies like low iron or zinc might persist even in well-fed kids. Here's what we cover:Why good nutrition isn't enough when the gut is imbalanced or inflamed. The signs your child isn't absorbing nutrients well, even if they eat a “healthy” diet. How gut imbalances, parasites, and low stomach acid affect absorption. The truth about iron supplements (and why the form really matters). Practical ways to support your child's gut so food and supplements actually work. Why absorption (not just intake) is one of the most overlooked reasons for poor growth, fatigue, and low immunity

Are you constantly told you're “anemic” and need more iron—but still feel exhausted, inflamed, or stuck in poor health? In this powerful conversation, Dr. Tim Jackson welcomes back Morley Robbins (aka The Magnesium Man) to reveal the real story behind iron, copper, and energy metabolism. You'll discover why iron overload—not deficiency—is behind many modern health struggles, and how the overlooked protein ceruloplasmin plays a vital role in protecting your body from oxidative stress, supporting energy production, and balancing minerals. Morley explains why blood donations can actually improve health, why synthetic vitamin C may do more harm than good, and how stress shuts down iron recycling in the body. If you've ever struggled with fatigue, “low iron” labs, inflammation, or chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or autoimmune issues, this episode gives you the clarity and practical tools to look deeper and finally get to the root cause.

If your own experience of the nature and tendency of your hope will not convince you of the falseness of it, what will? Are you resolved to retain your hope, let it prove ever so unsound and hurtful? Will you hold it fast till you go to hell with it? Many men cling to a false hope, and embrace it so closely, that they never let it go till the flames of hell cause their arms to unclench and let go their hold. Consider how you will answer it at the day of judgment when God shall call you to an account for your folly in resting in such an hope. Will it be a sufficient answer for you to say, that you had the charity of others, and that they thought your conversion was right? Certainly it is foolish for men to imagine, that God had no more wisdom, or could contrive no other way of bestowing comfort and hope of eternal life than one which should encourage men to forsake him.

If 97% of Us Are Fiber Deficient… Why Isn't Anyone Talking About It? No one's talking about the real nutrition emergency: fiber. Fiber deficiency is a public health crisis. It's linked to chronic diseases that are hitting Americans earlier and harder than ever before. However, fiber-rich foods remain criminally overlooked in our diets, and notably, in our school meals. But it wasn't the procedures that shook him—it was the broken system behind them. He saw how medicine often overlooked the root cause of cellular dysfunction from toxicity and nutrient deficiency. So he made a shift. A big one. Now, Ryan's all about color, not just metaphorically, but biochemically. Specifically, carotenoids. These colorful compounds found in everything from blueberries to marigolds are key to measuring cellular health, immune resilience, and long-term vitality. Ryan walks us through how his team has done over 28 million non-invasive antioxidant scans, what those results mean, and why 99% of people are nutritionally starving at the cellular level. In this episode, Ryan and I dive into how stress alters physiology, why mindset matters as much as minerals, and what it means to radically own your health. You'll also learn why humans should pay attention to how plants use color as a survival strategy.“ When we measure people's carotenoid antioxidant status, which we've done 28 million tests, 99% of people don't measure up. 99% of the population is starving at the cellular level.” ~ Ryan EncinasAbout Ryan Encinas:Ryan Encinas is a former surgical nurse turned metabolic health strategist and the co-founder of Holistic Hub. He's on a mission to revolutionize healthcare by putting nutrition first. Did you know that most Canadians—and people in developed countries—are severely deficient in dietary fibre (or fiber, for our American friends)? In this eye-opening episode, Michelle and Kevin dive deep into the importance of fibre for digestive health, metabolism, weight management, and disease prevention. Discover the difference between soluble fibre and insoluble fibre, why prebiotic fibre and resistant starches are crucial for a healthy gut microbiome, and how inadequate fibre intake is linked to chronic illnesses like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, colon cancer, and more.Michelle explains why Health Canada's dietary fibre recommendations (28g for women, 35g for men) are just the bare minimum—and how easy it is to meet or exceed them with a whole food, plant-based diet. Learn practical tips for increasing your fibre intake through high-fibre foods like oats, beans, berries, flaxseed, vegetables, and legumes—without the bloat and gas that can come from doing it too quickly. You'll also hear about fascinating studies, including a prehistoric analysis showing ancient humans consumed up to 135 grams of fibre daily and modern hunter-gatherer societies who still thrive on fibre-rich diets. Plus, discover how fibre impacts satiety, gut health, blood sugar balance, and even cancer prevention.Whether you're plant-based, keto-curious, or somewhere in between, this episode will change the way you think about fibre—and your bathroom habits—for good.Stay in touch! Meet Sara, the founder of GEM, a consumer health company reimagining daily nutrition. Sara discovered that even her carefully curated "healthy" diet was leaving massive nutritional gaps—a wake-up call that led her to create the first real food vitamin disrupting an industry built on synthetic pills and sugary gummies.Sara received a bachelor of science in international agricultural development studies and has spent a decade building and collaborating with startups, non-profits, and sustainable food networks all over the world. Throughout her career, she's learned from and worked with a kaleidoscopic array of experts from farmers and environmental enthusiasts to functional medicine doctors, herbalists, and registered dietitians. Despite everyone's unique approach to nutrition, there is one thing collectively agreed upon: we must change the way we feed our bodies and our planet. In this episode we dive into:• Why an apple today has dramatically fewer nutrients than 50 years ago (and what this means for your daily nutrition)• The surprising science behind why whole food vitamins absorb 263 times better than synthetic alternatives• How to fill nutritional gaps without swallowing handfuls of pills or relying on messy powders• The hidden connection between fiber and natural GLP-1 support that's changing the weight loss conversationThe Reality Check - Your "Perfect" Diet Isn't Perfect• Even health-conscious people are walking around with serious nutrient deficiencies without knowing it• Our depleted soils mean that perfectly planned meals still leave critical gaps in nutrition• The overwhelming supplement aisle creates analysis paralysis when you're already running on empty• Most people skip supplementation entirely because pills feel clinical and gummies feel like candyThe Food-as-Medicine Revolution• Why heating and processing supplements destroys the very nutrients you're trying to consume• The proprietary cold-press method that preserves maximum bioavailability in every bite• How combining prebiotics with probiotics creates the synergy your gut actually needs• The game-changing difference between isolated synthetic vitamins and whole food sources with cofactorsThe Simple Solution That Actually Works• One daily bite contains 20 different plants without any added sugar or artificial ingredients• The strategic pause that transforms supplementation from chore into mindful self-care ritual• Why the chocolate cherry sleep bite works better than melatonin without creating dependency• How motherhood taught Sara that efficiency isn't about doing more—it's about doing what mattersThis conversation reminds us that optimal nutrition doesn't require perfection or complexity. Whether you're a busy professional juggling meetings and meals or a parent trying to nourish both yourself and your family, this episode offers the practical insights and scientific backing to simplify your approach to filling nutritional gaps.APPLY FOR 1:1 COACHING WITH THE FITNESS FYXInstagram:@thekrystahuber@thefyx.officialpod@thefitnessfyxYouTube: @thefitnessfyxConnect with Sara:Instagram: @cullensara for behind-the-scenes insights into building a health companyInstagram: @daily_gem for daily nutrition tips and product updatesWebsite: dailygem.com

The worst example of this lawlessness in high places can be found in New Bergen, New Jersey, where the police chief, who decides if NJ residents in his city are morally qualified to own and carry guns, has repeatedly committed foul deeds against the officers under him, including defecating on the floor in front of the entire office staff, scraping fluids from his undergarments onto other, shaving his hair all over the lunches of other officers (as well as on them), and even assaulting one officer with a hypodermic syringe....in the man's penis.Support the showGiveSendGo | Unconstitutional 2A Prosecution of Tate Adamiak Askari Media GroupBuy Paul Eberle's book "Look at the Dirt"Paul Eberle (lookatthedirt.com)The Deadly Path: How Operation Fast & Furious and Bad Lawyers Armed Mexican Cartels: Forcelli, Peter J., MacGregor, Keelin, Murphy, Stephen: 9798888456491: Amazon.com: BooksVoice of the Blue (buzzsprout.com)
We're overfed, but undernourished. Despite having access to more food than ever, most people are walking around with nutrient deficiencies that could be accelerating aging, increasing disease risk, and depleting energy levels. That's why I sat down with Dr. Rhonda Patrick, a leading expert in nutritional science and aging, to break down what we're missing—and why it matters. In this episode of The Dr. Hyman Show, we explore: Why nearly 70% of Americans are deficient in vitamin D and what that means for longevity. The overlooked role of magnesium in metabolism, blood sugar, and brain function. Why our food system leaves us malnourished—even if we eat a “healthy” diet. The best way to assess and correct micronutrient imbalances for optimal health. Your body can't function properly without the right nutrients. Have you ever wondered why so many of us feel like we're running on empty—despite eating clean, exercising, and prioritizing our wellness? It's that frustrating gap between doing "all the right things" and still feeling off, with brain fog, low energy, or restless sleep creeping in.In today's episode, I'm joined by Dr. Stephanie Venn-Watson, a veterinary epidemiologist and co-founder of Fatty15, to explore a groundbreaking discovery that's reshaping how we think about fats and cellular health. What if one specific nutrient—C15:0—could strengthen our cells, slow down aging, and restore balance in ways we never imagined? And here's the wild part: this research started with dolphins and led to one of the most exciting longevity breakthroughs in decades. We'll unpack how C15:0 became known as the "missing piece" in modern nutrition, why it's essential for everything from gut health to brain function, and how small shifts—like adding the right type of fat back into your routine—can have a huge impact on how you feel.If you've been feeling stuck in the cycle of fatigue and “quick-fix” health trends, this conversation is your invitation to break free, simplify, and tune into what your body really needs.Let's dive in!We Also Discuss:(00:01) Rooted in Wellness With Fatty 15(06:29) Discovering Essential Fatty Acid C15:0(15:41) The Power of Essential Fatty Acid(30:17) Discovering the Benefits of C15:0(42:27) Nourishing Health With C15:0 Discovery(56:59) Empowering Health Through Nutrition DiscoveryThank You to Our Sponsors:OneSkin: Get 15% off your first order with the code MONA at oneskin.co/MONALearn more about Mona Sharma:Website: www.monasharma.comInstagram: @monasharmaLearn more about Dr. Stephanie Venn-WatsonWebsite: https://fatty15.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/fatty15Stress Quiz: What's Your Stress Personality?Ever wonder how you naturally respond to stress?
