Join us this Sunday as we continue in our journey in Philippians in our sub-series, Stumbling Through Grace. Today, Rob Collis preaches from Philippians 1.27-30, and invites us to take a deep breath to rest and take comfort in the good news of Jesus as we stumble together towards grace, knowing that, as we do, we are untied together in the Holy Spirit, and the light of Christ will shine through us as we shine like stars in the sky.

'For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil His good purpose. Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.' Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.' Paul is saying, we have to keep ourselves blameless and harmless in the midst of the perversity and sin of the world. “Shine as lights in the world, holding forth the Word of Life, so that I may rejoice in the Day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, nor laboured in vain – though I be offered on the sacrifice of service for your faith.” Paul gave his life to preach the Gospel. Come on! The message we preach is the Word of Life! Life in Christ!

When someone says something, do you always believe it? Most of my life, especially my younger life, I usually believed when someone said something, I just believed it. Then I got a little older and realized that some things that were said, just weren’t true. So, like most of us, after time, I looked at what people said and got a little cynical. Then after a few more years, I realized that it really depended on the person that was saying it. Like my father and my brother. When they said something, I believed it. I believed them. I believe. My belief in them ended up blessing me. Abram had finished rescuing his nephew, Lot, from 5 kings that took him captive. After this battle, God told Abram that he would be his shield and great reward. But Abram had no son to pass on his ancestry. Abram asked God about this and shared his biggest desire, which was to have a son. Abram simply shared with God what was on his heart. God told him he would have a son. Abram believed God. God knew the heart of Abram and knew of his belief in HIM. God gave Abram credit for his belief. Everyone likes a credit on their account. This is the first part of a two part conversation and agreement between God and Abram. One agreement is verbal and the other is in blood. I hope it will strengthen your faith in what God is saying to you.

JESUS IS ALWAYS WITH YOUKEY VERSE: HE DETERMINES THE NUMBER OF THE STARS AND CALLS THEM EACH BY NAME. PSALM 147:4 (NIV)
Bible Reading: Psalm 19:1-4; Isaiah 40:26"Wow, look at all the stars, Cory!" Sam exclaimed, pointing up at the sky. "It's the perfect night for stargazing.""I've never seen so many stars before," Cory said. "The city lights from street lamps and buildings block out most of the stars where I live." "I'm so glad you came to my house for the weekend, but I wish you could stay longer," Sam said. "There's no way we'll be able to do everything we planned. It feels like so long since we saw each other!" Cory had moved to Toronto a few months before, and this was the first time he had been able to see his friend again."What's it like living in a big city?" asked Sam. "You must have tons of new friends now. There are so many people!""Not really," Cory replied. "You can feel just as lonely when you're in a crowd in the city. I made some friends at my new church and school, but I still miss my friends here.""I know how you feel," Sam said. "I'll miss you again at school on Monday." Sam sighed. "The universe is so big. I know the Bible says God is always with us, but it doesn't feel like it. I still get lonely."Cory thought for a moment. Then he said, "Well, even when I feel lonely in our new house, I know I'm not alone. I guess it's kind of like the stars.""How?" asked Sam."Even when we can't see the stars, like when it's daytime, or there are too many lights in the city, we know the stars are still there," Cory explained. "And even when we don't feel like Jesus is with us, He still is, because He promises He will always be with us."Sam nodded. "I think I understand."Cory went on. "The Bible says God created everything--the stars and us too. And even though there are billions of stars and billions of people, there's a verse that says God knows the number of stars in the sky and knows them each by name. And we're even more important to Him than stars--Jesus died for us! He cares for us and doesn't forget about us.""Thanks, Cory." Sam smiled. "I'll remember that at school on Monday." -Abby CionaHow About You?Do you ever feel lonely? Even though there are billions of people in the world, God knows you by name. He loves us all so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to earth to save us from sin, and He promises to always be with those who trust in Him. If you know Jesus, He is with you, even when it doesn't feel like it. You are important to Him. Today's Key Verse:He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name. (NIV) (Psalm 147:4)Today's Key Thought:Jesus is always with you
Look toward the heaven and count the stars, if you are able to count them. So shall your descendants be.' And Abram believed the Lord and the Lord reckoned it to him as righteousness.

Will God answer your prayer if you don't end with, "In Jesus' name, Amen?" Learn what praying in the name of Jesus really means. I taught this week on the call of Abraham and the development of God's missionary call through the nation of Israel as they were responsible to communicate the truth of God to the cultures around them. They were given that great commission. The great commission didn't start in Matthew 28. It started with Abraham in Genesis 12 —the first three verses there —Abraham, chosen by God to raise up a nation who would then be God's priests to the world so that they would be a blessing to all of the nations. They had a unique role in the great monotheistic religion. The Jews were supposed to reflect morality to the world. Israel was to witness to the name of God. When they talked about the name of God and witnessing to God's name, that does not mean that they were to let everybody know what they called God, "Yahweh." Their goal wasn't to cover the countryside with evangelists who just let everybody know what the right word for God was. It meant something different. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ https://linktr.ee/jacksonlibon --------------------------------------------------- #face #instagram #amour #take #couple #garden #tiktok #psychology #beyou #near #love #foryou #money #ForYouPizza #fyp #irobot #theend #pups #TikToker #couplegoals #famille #relation #doudou #youtube #twitter #tiktokers #love #reeĺs #shorts #instagood #follow #like #ouy #oyu #babyshark #lilnasx #girl #happybirthday #movie #nbayoungboy #deviance #autotrader #trading #khan #academy #carter #carguru #ancestry #accords #abc #news #bts #cbs #huru #bluebook #socialmedia #whatsapp #music #google #photography #memes #marketing #india #followforfollowback #likeforlikes #a #insta #fashion #k #trending #digitalmarketing #covid #o #snapchat #socialmediamarketing

Welcome to a very special episode of the podcast. In addition to the typical audio format, there is also a video format available on YouTube. Listeners may enjoy checking out the video version, because we have included some visual images to accompany the discussion. You can find a link to the video version in the show notes below. My guests are Haylee Blauert and Jason Jaspersen. Haylee is the author of a new children's book entitled Stars in the Sky and Jason Jaspersen is the illustrator. Both of them joined me in the studio to talk about the upcoming book, the journey they both walked over the past 3 plus years to share this story with the world, and the life and character of the man the book memorializes. This is not your typical children's book, but a work of true literature and art. The book speaks to the importance of community and connection and faces the issues of mental health and grief and loss in a way that can help children and adults reflect on their own experiences. This is an important book and I hope that the next hour is as impactful for you as it was for me. Notes from Episode 26 Purchase Stars in the Sky: coming soon...
