We're back to full strength this week. Leading Nate coming in hot on the idea of what it will be like going back to flying. Not so much about Covid or masks but the idea that he has a metal stake in his leg and metal detector issues. Sam gets a moment to go into the fun of having clear bags going to games these days. Of course this leads to another moment of internet shutdown. We get a fun tale of Sturgis and a certain biker's documentation of the trip. Who is the kind of person to leave their dog behind? This idea also takes us down the path of sex in politics. We then do the big dive into food eating competition and records. This somehow takes us into one hit wonders, celebrity mugshots, and twins... Honestly I don't even know how we fall down these rabbit holes. Hope everyone is having a good one and staying safe out there.

"Even if you feel sure you are right, never assume you know what’s best for another in terms of stuff. Simply re-arranging someone else’s stuff or worse yet getting rid of it without permission truly breaks the bonds of trust (especially with children)." What sparks the most joy for Dorothy: Surprising friends, family, and strangers. Gems: “What does your clutter say about you?” “We all have stuff.” “I got rid of the stuff so that I could create something bigger for myself.” “People hoarded stuff in their homes, but I was hoarding sugar and flour on my body.” “We’re looking to stuff to decide where we are going as a society.” “We are teetering near 14 million people who hoard.” “Barrier to facing our stuff: We blame others.” “Barrier to facing our stuff: We refuse to look at our own mistakes.” “Barrier to facing our stuff: We isolate instead of reach out for help.” “Overcome the barrier: Dare to admit we are fully responsible for the things that we own." “Overcome the barrier: Take a fearless moral inventory of yourself.” “Overcome the barrier: Be with a group of like-minded people to help you get out of isolation.” “Apologies created the path to clearing out the clutter in their house.” “Even if you feel sure you are right, never assume you know what’s best for another in terms of stuff.” You can find Karin Socci at The Serene Home You can find Kristyn Ivey at For the Love of Tidy Special Guest: Dorothy Breininger.

Dorothy Breininger is one of America's Most Trusted Professional Organizers and is on a mission to create more space on the planet. “Dorothy The Organizer” is most widely known as the problem solver on the Emmy-nominated show, “Hoarders.” She is also the best-selling author of five books. In her latest book, Stuff Your Face or Face Your Stuff, she approaches organizing from the perspective of what our clutter says about our emotional condition, and how that can translate into other self-destructive or self-sabotaging behaviors such as overeating. She should know—in the course of decluttering her life, Dorothy lost (and has kept off) 75 pounds.
