In this episode, Dr. Leah and Taraleigh talk with percussionist Jason Hann about the healing power of music based on his experiences participating in ceremonies in Haiti, collaborating with musicians from West Africa, and playing with The String Cheese Incident and other projects. The three discuss the implications of this for healing individuals, groups, and even the world at large. Also mentioned in the discussion is the healing power of breath and other ways to regulate our nervous systems. Dr. Leah breaks down why deep breathing is so effective in bringing about focus and calm for the “Did you Know.” Taraleigh gives listeners a tip for connecting with the healing power of music every day for the “Daily Jam.” Jason Hann has been a member of The String Cheese Incident since 2004. He is a former member of the band EOTO and has had his own musical projects such as Prophet Massive, an electronic DJ side project. He released a solo album called Rythmshphere Vol. 1 – Djembe Furia in 2005. In this episode of the BACK 2 BASICS PODCAST, we invited Mr. Abdul Rehman Lodhi. Mr. Lodhi is the co-founder of EOTO foundation. He founded this organization 'Each One Teach One Foundation' with the motive, that if an individual who is privileged, grants education to those who are out of school for so many reasons, then that day is not so far away when we overcome this education crisis in Pakistan. Our Organization, EOTO Foundation, is working for those underprivileged children who are unable to fulfill their dreams of getting a free and quality education. The Organization is contributing to the betterment of this country for the last 6 years and so far, 300+ children are accommodated with free and quality education. The Foundation has 3 campuses in-running in different areas of city Gujrat and in Islamabad, and one is under construction in a remote area of Gujranwala.

This week's episode is a true return to form, in which my old friend Michael Jacobs (aka The Ungoogleable Michaelangelo, aka Void Denizen) and I talk about pretty much everything — including plenty of things I honestly can't believe I spoke about so freely.Every once in a rare while I have a discussion on Future Fossils that truly exemplifies the spirit in which this show was born — the truly omnivorous amateur enthusiasm that pervaded it before I started worrying about defining these investigations for an audience. Here is just a set of sampling slices from our most heartfelt and epic yarn, in which Michael talks about taking care of his father, who suffers Alzheimer's; about getting back out of city life and onto the road in the American Southwest, communing with the landscape; about nonduality and artistry and memory and transpersonal somatics and their implications…It is an honor to meld with this guy, especially as my first not-exactly-post-pandemic, back-in-person podcast with a friend in the same room since God Knows When. Throughout this episode: he and I bat 1000 on the revelatory portmanteaus:The IcarOS, Genre Fluid, Vagabondage, The Industry and The Artistry, (my Dantien used to be a) Dantwienty, (and of course) The Transtempouroboros (tasty!).✨ Housekeeping:Come out as a future fossil on Patreon for another 25 minutes of this awesome conversation, plus two extra episodes a month, invites to our book club, new weird inspired essays, art and music that I labor on late night sometimes for months, and other things that help me share the wondrous inquiry. Zebbler Encanti Experience (aka “ZEE”) is an audio/visual collaboration between video artist Zebbler and electronic music producer Encanti, based out of Boston, Massachusetts and Valencia, Spain. The Experience is an immersive performance of mapped visuals on three custom winged projection screens, synchronized with heavy peak-hour psychedelic bass music, resulting in the creation of a fantasy world for audiences to lose themselves in. Zebbler Encanti Experience released a critically-acclaimed EP, End Trance, on standout bass label Wakaan, coupled with a performance at the inaugural Wakaan Festival. Coming out of the pandemic, ZEE released Syncorswim on longtime label Gravitas Recordings, which is a full audio-visual album exploring the ambient, glitchy, and IDM side of the project. Beautiful natural visuals accompany gorgeous, synth-heavy grooves. This different perspective gives fans a whole new look at what an A/V project can be. ZEE have seen a considerable amount of road time in the last few years, serving as integral members of multiple tour teams. The architect behind the projection mapped projects for Shpongle and EOTO, and assisting with Infected Mushroom's stage construction, Zebbler has toured the United States nonstop producing visual shows and performing as a VJ at hundreds of high profile events. In addition to ZEE performing as direct touring support for EOTO in venues throughout the country, and performing in the Shpongle Live band during their first few shows in the United States and final appearance at Red Rocks, Encanti has carved out some time to teach electronic music production to graduate students in the Valencia, Spain wing of Berklee College of Music.

To get the new season of Memekasts started off right, We selected Denver native ProJect Aspect, a member of the Mile High Sound Movement, a talented pool of artists and producers located there. We had a chance to hear him play a few times at Sonic Bloom this year along with previous Memekast guest Seied as well as Tipper, Vibesquad, Eoto, Jantsen, and Jamie Janover just to name a few. We were very impressed by the consistent quality of music that we heard while we were there. ProJect Aspect's production made us take notice and get him on the short list for a Memekast. Which also happens to coincide with his ProJect Aspect fan page acquiring over 2000 fans as well as a new release featured on the music label Gruntworthy. And in celebration of these two recent achievements he gave us an all live mix tape of unreleased material to swing into the Fall season. Exclusively for the Memekast.
