ABOUT SUB-RADIO:Few independent bands have had a career as varied and unpredictable as the indie pop quintet Sub-Radio. Founded in Washington DC by a group of childhood friends, the band built a following in their hometown of Washington, D.C. on the strength of ecstatic live shows and a stream of releases. The band's first release, 2016's Same Train // Different Station, was recorded as the guys finished college, blending the pop-punk they grew up on with the indie-pop stylings of WALK THE MOON and The 1975. In 2017, Sub-Radio released a single per month from April to September, coinciding with a regional tour and an appearance at the Firefly Music Festival. Their two raucous sets at the festival exposed them to a wider audience, and the band's next EP Headfirst was their best-performing release yet, including the popular beachy single “Flashback,” which has amassed more than 3 million streams across all platforms. Following the release of their 2020 EP Thoughts Lights Colors Sounds, produced by Andrew Maury (Shawn Mendes, Lizzo, COIN), the band embarked on a pandemic-induced “virtual tour,” live-streaming their energetic performances to more than 20 million viewers and building a worldwide community of fans. The band signed with indie label Th3rd Brain in early 2022, announcing a string of US tour dates in support of forthcoming new music.CONNECT WITH SUB-RADIO:Spotify - TikTok - Instagram - Twitter - YouTube - Facebook - Patreon - DiscordSUPPORT THIS SHOWSUBSCRIBE TO YOUR LIFE THE MIXTAPE MAGAZINESUBSCRIBE TO DEAR DEAN MAGAZINE

Gable Music Ventures & Ladybug Music Festival: Gable Music Ventures was created by co-founders Gayle Dillman and Jeremy Hebbel in 2012. Over the last ten years, it has dynamically grown and the Gable team has worked tirelessly to develop and find opportunities for musicians in Delaware to create and perform. Nationally, Gable is best known for establishing and running the annual Summer event, the Ladybug Music Festival. Ladybug was launched in 2012 and it has become an annual celebration of women in the music industry. It features an all-female lineup of artists who are local to the Wilmington and Philadelphia music scene. Ladybug became so successful that it expanded to Milford, DE, in 2018. The maiden Ladybug Music Festival came to life when local shop and loft owners, Michael and Debbie Schwartz, asked Gable Music Ventures to throw a live music block party for their tenants, shortly after Firefly Music Festival was announced. From 2012 through 2017, Ladybug grew to be one of the most popular events in Wilmington, DE, with attendance doubling every single year, and it has become the largest celebration of women in music in the United States. As the event has grown, Gable has become even more inspired to make an impact on women in the music industry. Ladybug not only exclusively hires females or female-identifying fronted bands, but they also are committed to doing whatever they can to hire as many women as they can for all open positions on the Festival staff.

EP 166: Aaron sat down with Baltimore Music Artist John Tyler to discuss Mental Health and how it has affected him in various stages of his career and currently now. He performed at Firefly Music Festival with Peach Face and that was an  experience that changed his life perspective. We spoke on how he wanted to be architect growing up but found the passion of music through an unlikely avenue. He has a new album  out & we talk about the next movement with Love Groove Ent/Festival John Tyler is a 21-year-old artist, multi- instrumentalist, multi-genre producer, Founder of Love Groove Music Festival, and film scorer for Under Armour, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Visit Baltimore, and Maryland Public Television.  He has been featured in Charm TV, Hulu Advertisements, BET Instagram Promotions, Baltimore Magazine, Afro Newspaper, Baltimore Sun, B'more Art, Baltimore's 92Q, & WTMD.    At 16, John released his first mixtape and has since released two more. In 2019, John's debut album “The Good Side of Things'' dropped, setting a high standard for Baltimore music.  This project highlights his abilities to merge multiple genres into one. At 17, John started the Love Groove Music Festival to bring together young artists from different genres of art to showcase talent and to offer learning and networking opportunities.  This year marks his fifth showcase, partnering with Hot Sauce Artists Collective, Baltimore Center Stage,  to bring an ultimate music, arts, and education festival. After two long years since John Tyler's debut album, “The Good Side of Things”, he is finally back with his new EP and documentary entitled “ Free Spirit”. Free Spirit is a soulful, yet relaxing four-song collection highlighting his musicality and inspired by his desire to take a step back and appreciate life. John made this relaxing EP because he was overwhelmed with the fast forward nature of his life, the good and the bad.  He describes this EP as “from sunrise to sunset”.    It is his hope that this EP serves as a relaxing tool for those who are facing anxiety and constantly in motion.  Join John on his upcoming 2022 winter tour as he performs the full free spirit project! We had the pleasure of interviewing almost monday over Zoom video! San Diego-based alt-pop trio almost monday, who People Magazine recently declared an “emerging artist making their mark on the musical landscape,” have today released their sophomore EP til the end of time. Five tracks in length, til the end of time is chock-full of almost monday's signature California sound. Additionally, almost monday also today released the official music video for the EP's title track.Click HERE to watchtil the end of time's first single “live forever” was met with praise by many critics including music tastemaker Zane Lowe, who personally world-premiered the tune on his Apple Music Beats 1 radio show, and EARMILK, who described it as “a fun, upbeat sing-along track that enlists a festival-ready chorus sure to rock stages when live touring returns.” On its heels, “hailey beebs” coasts along on a downtempo groove wrapped in warm shimmering keys. almost monday's vocalist Dawson Daugherty delivers the quotable reprise with playful swagger before confidently carrying the swooning refrain, “I'm alive with you.” Ones To Watch called it the “perfect summer song” and praised the group–rounded out by guitarist Cole Clisby and bassist Luke Fabry–by saying they “should be everyone's go-to for an instant mood-booster.” Elsewhere on the EP, “this is growing up” gallops from a danceable groove into the rush of an arena-sized hook, while “til the end of time” hops along on tambourine and a funky riff towards a bright and bold refrain. The EP closes out with a stripped-down version of “this is growing up.”til the end of time follows almost monday's debut EP don't say you're ordinary. Despite being released in the middle of a pandemic, the trio was able to make waves with their first single “broken people.”  It landed them  a  Top 20  spot  on  Alternative Radio and led to a  collab  with GRAMMY-nominated duo  Sofi  Tukker. To date, the group has generated more than  42  million combined  audio and video streams and have been declared ones to watch in 2021 by GQ, FLAUNT Magazine, Amazon Music, Shazam and more.Showing no signs of slowing down, almost monday are set to hit the stage and make their debut at some of the biggest festivals across the country this year including Lollapalooza Music Festival, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, BottleRock Napa Valley Music Festival and Firefly Music Festival. About almost monday:  After countless garage jams, D.I.Y. gigs in the back of a surf shop, and innumerable hours writing together,  almost monday  bottle California sunshine in their funky basslines, ecstatic choruses, and danceable grooves.  It turns out the world needed some Cali rays during the pandemic as the band managed to emerge in 2020 with an unprecedented 30 million overall streams, uplifting audiences everywhere in the process.  The San Diego trio—Dawson Daugherty  (vocals),  Cole  Clisby  (guitar) and  Luke Fabry  (bass)— crafted their 2020 debut EP  don't say you're ordinary  in Brooklyn and Los Angeles with producers Mark Needham (The Killers, Fleetwood Mac) and Simon  Oscroft  (The Naked and Famous, DREAMERS).  don't say you're ordinary  ignited a string of buzzing anthems, beginning with “parking lot view” and “come on come on.” Meanwhile, the lead single “broken people,” and the Sofi  Tukker  remix, crystallized their sun-kissed signature style with a bold bass bounce and empowering refrain as it's generated nearly 32 million combined audio and video streams so far and cracked the Top 20 at Alternative Radio. Along the way, they've attracted a growing fan base through a combination of danceable rhythms and uplifting hooks. In 2021, they set the stage for their second EP til the end of time with “live forever,” received praise from  Earmilk,  Flaunt,  Ones To Watch, and more right out of the gate. Additionally,  Alternative Press  touted it and included them among  “40 New Artists You Need To Hear in February,”  and  GQ  Australia  predicted them to be one of  “21 Breakout Musicians to Know in 2021.” The band will also make their festival debut at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, BottleRock, and Firefly this year.  With the release of  til the end of time almost  monday  only accelerate their momentum and emerge as the consummate purveyors of future-facing California pop.  We want to hear from you! In 1963, their enormous popularity first emerged as "Beatlemania"; as the group's music grew in sophistication, led by primary songwriters Lennon and McCartney, the band became integral to pop music's evolution into an art form and to the development of the counterculture of the 1960s. On this episode of America’s #1 music festival podcast & radio show, Steven Rhys explores his most recent experiences at of one of the east coasts’ most redound festival; Firefly Music Festival.  Which took place from June 15-18 at The Dover International Speedway, in Dover, Delaware. It was a special year for Firefly, as this was the first year the festival unveiled it’s new “fan curated” program, which allowed early ticket holders to vote on numerous things from vendors to headlining acts and everything in between. Also new this year, was Firefly’s “cashless” policy, encouraging all attendees to to make payments through credit cards, debit cards, and apps. Things got weird at this year's Firefly.  From discovering human remains outside the fest, to bands openly bashing other festivals on stage; it's safe to say that Firefly saw a unique opportunity this ear, and ran with it. During this review we will explore the many different areas in which we feel make up a good festival and highlight the ones where Firefly really excelled, and where they could use some improvement.  Those areas include: General Atmosphere & AestheticsAverage AgeVenueVendorsFan CurationMusicMore! Also throughout the episode, we feature the music of three artists who will be performing at Firefly this year, and who we feel you need to make time in your festival schedule for.  This episode serves as promotion for Firefly and these artists, if you enjoy the music please support them by buying their songs, seeing their shows, and spreading the word. On this episode of America’s #1 music festival podcast & radio show, we explore the sounds and vibes of one of the east coasts' most renound festival; Firefly Music Festival.  Taking place next weekend from June 15-18 at The Dover International Speedware, in Dover, Delaware. Firefly continues to evolve and stride to be ahead of the pack.  This year the festival unveiled it's new "fan curation" program, which allowed early ticket holders to vote on numerous things from vendors to headlining acts and everything in between.  Also new this year, is Firefly's "cashless" policy, encouraging all attendees to to make payments through credit cards, debit cards, and apps.  We will touch on these subjects and much more all this episode! This week’s episode features: KlangstofLawrence*repeat repeat
