What if the greatest victories of your life are not the ones the world celebrates, but the ones no one ever sees? In this episode of The Game Changing Attorney Podcast, Michael Mogill sits down with three-time Olympic gymnast Dominique Dawes to explore the true cost of world-class performance and what it really takes to build a life defined by purpose, not pressure. From her history-making Olympic journey to rebuilding the sport from the inside out, Dominique reveals the sacrifices, struggles, and pivotal moments that shaped her mission to create a healthier culture for the next generation. Here's what you'll learn: Why greatness requires sacrifice and how to decide which sacrifices are actually worth it How to transform pain, pressure, and adversity into a mission that serves others What it takes to build a purpose-driven business without losing yourself or your family in the process If you are striving for excellence that lasts, this conversation will challenge you to rethink what winning really means. ---- Show Notes: 04:56 — Dominique describes the grueling daily training schedule that made her want to quit. 06:45 — She explains why young gymnasts often sacrifice their entire childhood for less than five minutes on the Olympic stage. 08:44 — Dominique shares why gold medals do not make her top ten life moments and what truly matters more. 14:22 — She reflects on signing a lease before the pandemic and pushing through the uncertainty that followed. 17:21 — Dominique discusses expanding her academy and how her daughter telling her she was working too much changed everything. 20:14 — She explains how motherhood shifted her definition of success and forced her to re-evaluate priorities. 24:32 — Dominique talks about why relentless achievement can lead to burnout and what real balance looks like. 32:44 — She contrasts old-school coaching adversity with the healthier culture she's building at her academies. ---- Links & Resources: Dominique Dawes Gymnastics and Ninja Academy Larry Nassar Simone Biles ---- Do you love this podcast and want to see more game changing content? In this powerful episode, I sit down with Roseanne Dawes, a mother whose journey through heartbreak, surrender, and unexpected grace will stay with you long after the episode ends.Roseanne shares the deeply personal story of the eight months when her son broke all contact with her—months filled with uncertainty, fear, and the pain of not knowing how to move forward. What began as a devastating experience became the catalyst for a profound internal shift. As she wrestled with sorrow and confusion, Roseanne began to see the limitations of her own black-and-white thinking. She recognized the ways she had clung to certainty, control, and “the right way,” and how those patterns had unintentionally created distance in her most cherished relationships. With honesty and humility, she describes the moment she realized that her son's choices were never hers to manage. Her story is tender, relatable, and full of hope. Together, we talk about:How to move from fear and judgment to compassion and trustLetting go of the illusion of controlThe life-changing truth that every one of us—no matter our path, questions, or choices—is always in God's handsIf you've ever loved someone who is choosing a different direction, or if your heart aches for a child who has pulled away, this episode is a gentle reminder that God is working in ways we cannot see. Roseanne's journey shows us that peace is possible, healing is real, and no one is ever beyond the reach of divine love.Connect with Shiree at shireebest.com Join the "Just Love Them" Facebook groupEmail Shiree at imlivinginjoy@gmail.comhttps://www.facebook.com/roseanne.dawesListen to The Anchored Podcast HERE.

Chester Dawes is the COO and CFO at Palistar Capital, an alternative asset manager focused on investing in the future of mission critical digital infrastructure. Launching and growing a private equity firm is not easy. I enjoyed sitting down with Chester to discuss how his experience going from ‘big four' accounting to industrial to private equity gave him a sense on how to navigate large and small firms from an operational perspective. We discuss a wide range of topics from using Six Sigma for operational improvement, when to bring in the HR function, standing up affiliates to provide operational leverage, and how the cadence and requirements of portfolio company data has changed over time. Dave recounts a fly-fishing trip to Mexico, where he encountered the fish that now haunts his dreams. He reflects on how the experience is less about catching fish and more about testing fate, and what it means to release not just the fish, but your own power. He wraps up with an Ask Dave segment about a dinner reservation quandary. On this week's show, we catch up on a smokin' boatload o' new-ish singles and pour one out for the late Ozzy Osbourne. All this & much, much less! Debts No Honest Man Can Pay is a podcast that thinks it's a radio show...because it used to be one. The show started in 2003 at WHFR-FM (Dearborn, MI), moved to WGWG-FM (Boiling Springs, NC) in 2006 & Plaza Midwood Community Radio (Charlotte, NC) in 2012, with a brief pit-stop at WLFM-FM (Appleton, WI) in 2004. It phoenixed into a podcast in 2020, thanks to the fine and fabulously furious folks at NRM Streamcast.
In this episode of America's Founding Series on The P.A.S. Report Podcast, Professor Nick Giordano tells the gripping story of William Dawes, the other midnight rider who risked everything to warn of the British advance on April 18, 1775. While Paul Revere became a household name, Dawes took an equally dangerous route through British checkpoints, without fanfare, poetry, or recognition. Discover why his name faded into obscurity, the truth behind what was really said that night, and how the Revolution was carried on the backs of ordinary patriots who made extraordinary sacrifices. Episode Highlights: The daring and overlooked midnight ride of William Dawes through Boston Neck Why Revere became a legend and Dawes became a historical footnote How everyday patriots like Dawes helped ignite the American Revolution without seeking fame

Today we investigate the tragic case of Kiena Dawes, a 23-year-old mother from Lancashire whose suicide in July 2022 led to unprecedented legal proceedings against her abuser.Follow along & evidence photos @ https://jonharker.medium.com/the-girl-on-the-railway-tracks-the-heartbreaking-story-of-kiena-dawes-e495f81edcbc or https://open.substack.com/pub/jonharker/p/the-girl-on-the-railway-tracks-the?r=1qdzrx&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=trueWhen Kiena wrote 'I was murdered' in her final note before taking her life on railway tracks, she sparked a landmark domestic abuse case that challenged the boundaries of criminal responsibility. Join me as we examine the devastating pattern of coercive control by Ryan Wellings, the police failures that preceded her death, and the groundbreaking 2025 trial that resulted in his conviction for assault and controlling behavior but acquittal on manslaughter charges. This deeply researched episode features exclusive insights into the suicide note that accused Wellings 'from beyond the grave' and explores why cases like Kiena's—where an estimated 200 women take their lives annually due to domestic abuse trauma—rarely result in serious charges against abusers. This is the heartbreaking story of a mother who believed her death was the only way to protect her infant daughter from 'the monster who is called her dad.'Vitamins I recommend - https://www.isotonix.com/jonmichaelperry/product/isotonix-opc-3/?id=13009&skuName=single-bottle-90-servings&idType=sku&tkr=250204143554See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
