POPULARITY
Episode 085 kicks off with the return of STS9's ALANA ROCKLIN! The beloved bassist delivered one of this program's most popular conversations [#66, Spring 2023]; Rocklin was kind enough to come back for another round, a shorter interview recorded mid-Feb.2025 aboard Jam Cruise 21. We linked up on my cabin balcony for a discussion that covered the band's long-awaited return to The Boat (and Alana's maiden voyage!), new Sector 9 compositions and their forthcoming LP, curating intentional setlists and introducing material in the live element, the post-pandemic current touring model, live music bringing people together in tough times, and more! 0:00 - ep.085 preview 3:30 - sponsor - OM Festival 5:30 - The Upful Update 10:30 - introducing ALANA ROCKLIN 14:30 - interview w/Alana [33 min] 47:30 - afterglow > CORNFLOWER spot 52:10 - introducing ASHER FULERO 56:10 - interview w/ Asher [62 min] 1:57:45 - sign-off, ViBE Junkie Jamz Alana's chat is chased with a lengthier convo featuring Portland, OR's virtuosic keyboardist/producer/composer ASHER FULERO. We unpack his phenomenal 2024 solo LP 'Worlds', a hybrid organic-electronic affair that remains among my faves last calendar year. Fulero details a journey through the creative process and industry opportunities, how this particular project was wrought with false starts and new lessons/understandings; plus recording/releasing original music in the ever-confounding streaming/social media era of sound-art and consumerism. In addition to Asher Fuler Band and experimental trio Threedom, the artist transparently reflects on experiences working with Emancipator Ensemble, Everyone Orchestra, Liberation Movement, Yonder Mountain String Band, Jon Fishman, and more. This weeks episode is with visionary floral sculptor, Anthony Ward! Most known for his elaborate performances on stage combining his extensive history of dance with his love for floral arrangement, Anthony has shared his art with thousands across the globe. Having had opportunities to collaborate with the likes of Michael Franti, Bobby McFerrin, STS9, Tipper, and a slew of spiritual teachers such as the Dalai Lama, Eckhart Tolle, and Ram Dass; Anthony has secured his spot as one of the world's top contemporary floral artists. In this conversation, we discuss his life of working with flowers and the intersections between arrangement and dance. We then explore the lineages of floral arrangement, how we can begin our own practice, and the lessons he's learned from a lifetime of dedicating himself to this artform. Dirty Funky Bass Music but make it pretty. The vibe and soul of the Maddy O'Neal project combines soundscapes from all across the spectrum of genres…Rich in texture and atmosphere, her roots in funk and soul shine through in a bed of low end frequencies making for a unique environment for future bass and synth design to tie it all together. Hailing from Denver, Colorado you can hear the direct electro soul inspiration sprinkled in her productions but she has managed to carve out her own unique lane within the bass community. As a self taught producer and DJ, with a wildly creative upbringing, Maddy's expression was formed by way of soulful melodic overtones, driven basslines, and glitched out hip hop grooves. Maddy's live performances consist of original compositions, drum pads and an interwoven storyline ranging from down low grimey bangers to shimmery mid tempo vocal bass tracks and head nod disco. Her momentum is unstoppable as she has been touring the country for the last 5 years playing 90+ shows a year spreading her infectious energy from stage to stage. With hits like “Zest Please”; a collaboration with the iconic Clozee that amassed over 2 million Spotify plays in just one year, 4 EPs, a massive sophomore LP “Ricochet” in 2022 followed by 2 volumes of remix albums, Maddy's repertoire is ever expanding leaving fan bases across the world wanting more. Maddy O'Neal has played Coachella, Lollapalooza, Lost Lands, Electric Forest, Envision, Summer Camp, North Coast, Red Rocks (x3) and many many more. Her touring resume is long and accomplished by supporting such artists as Clozee, Pretty Lights, Griz, Big Gigantic, Liquid Stranger, The Floozies, Opiuo, Wreckno, STS9, Manic Focus, and more!Upcoming notable summer festival performances include highlights such as Bonnaroo, Cascade, SSBD, Sonic Bloom and more. Welcome STS9 bassist ALANA ROCKLIN! Based in Nashville, Rocklin has a diverse musical background and thorough collaborative resumé. Mentored by the great Victor Wooten, she studied jazz improvisation at the University of Michigan. After a few seminal years immersed in Chicago's fertile avant garde, she eventually made her way back to Music City, where she worked as a session musician for some time. Long before her stint with STS9 began, Alana and her husband Brad Bowden befriended the band in 2001. The duo formed experimental electronic project sub-ID, releasing music on STS9's 1320 Records. Rocklin has toured with Jim James' solo project, worked with J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League on Rick Ross/Andre 3000's otherworldly "Sixteen", and has session credits on numerous other releases. Jazz, classical, rock, hip hop, and IDM electronic are equal components of her extensive musical toolkit. Alana joined Sector 9 in early 2014 after founding member David Murphy's departure. She's been an essential cog in the quintet's jamtronic wheel ever since. Give Thanks and a ***Deep Bow*** to Alana Rocklin for being so generous with her time, and for this illuminating conversation! 2:00 -L4LM's FEST BY NITE. Get familiar with Shuj Roswell, a Denver born-and-bred producer who specializes in what he calls “Funktrondelic.” Mark A. Cooley (Shuj Roswell) takes us on a journey of his distinct travels through sound and the paths of rhythm: from seeing Pretty Lights at Boulder’s Trinity Wine Bar, to watching him outgrow Cervantes, to linking up with Michal Menert and Super Best Records, to collaborating with former STS9 bassist David Murphy. We chat about his newest EP, Shuttlecock, which is his first project that features 100% original music, creating a beautiful blend of Lo-fi hip-hop that your ears are sure to love. As someone who has been there from this scene’s beginning, Mark offers an informed perspective on the different iterations of Pretty Lights, how we might mark the different eras, and the difference between labeling a song as a remix, a cover, a flip, or “vs.” This episode also contains a truly hilarious story of Mark’s first and only interaction with the one and only Derek Vincent Smith, whose surgical strategies might just be one of our favorite Derek stories we have heard yet on Almost Familiar. Get familiar with Whit Hawkins, who has worn many hats behind the scenes for some of our culture’s most iconic artists, including Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, STS9, and Daily Bread. From sneaking out of his bedroom in his parents’ house to see STS9 perform in backyards in Atlanta to becoming their production manager, Whit experienced firsthand the cross pollination of the music, ideas, and fanbases of underground electronic and jam band culture. Drawing from his favorite elements of Phish’s culture, Whit and his team actively and intentionally contributed to the way that we experience our scene today, such as encouraging Bassnectar to adopt multi-night runs at a time when electronic artists were not using that model. Whit shares some of his favorite stories from working with these artists - from how Bass Center got its name, to having a Pretty Lights break named after him, to hearing it performed live by the Colorado Symphony when they performed with Pretty Lights. His motto along the way has been to “do dope shit with your friends,” which he brought to his recently-launched management and production company Hawk’s Nest Music. “It’s about finding the moments in everyday life that inspire you and excite you about being alive in the world and exploring your space in the world and being a part of it”Follow us on Social Media: Instagram: @almostfamiliarpodFacebook: Almost FamiliarHeard in this Episode: Intro Music: Almost Familiar by Pretty LightsWhitness Break performed by Pretty Lights and the Analog Future Band in Telluride 20152020 Favorites: -Sets: Lazy Syrup Orchestra from Bass Coast Pixel FestivalJade Cicada's Ambient Mix with visuals by Tenorless from The Rust's Featherbed Sessions Vol. 6Mr. Carmack's Digital LIB setCloZee: ShambhaRoo Livestream-Albums: Mountain of Memory by EmancipatorResonate by Lettuce

Over the 22 year span of Sound Tribe Sector 9, the Jamtronica outfit has produced studio albums, released live recordings, streamed concerts, made DVDs available of performances and shared incredible content with their fans. They are amongst the most prolific bands in terms of producing material so much so that it's incredibly staggering to even discuss. 2020 was to be a new year, filled with lots of live performances, giving back and making the world a better place with a relaunch of their non-profit The Just Thanks Organization and a release of a new series of live mashups in a volume called Visions Tapes. Save for the live performance agenda which of course was cut short because of Covid19, the band has already made a $25,000 pledge to Redwood League and they've released the first of the Visions Tapes project. So when I caught up with bassist Alana Rocklin I was curious to know what made the band decide to release these mash-ups as a mix-tape on Visions Tapes. For more on STS9 visit STS9.com. Ziek talks about how Con Brio is able to take its music across the globe. Ziek speaks of how having enthusiastic fans so far from home inspires them, how they can turn seated audiences into dancing ones, their tour with Galactic, how they keep the creative juices flowing and more. We were very proud to be given the opportunity to interview Bill Nershi of String Cheese Incident, so even though Rob Turner was on assignment in New England, Seth Weiner was able to soldier on and do what is probably his best to-date solo interview (although we are all confused as to what "taking the realm" means). Bill and Seth wasted no time in comparing Fox's. They also spoke about how, like Railroad Earth's Tim Carbone, Bill is a Colorado transplant from New Jersey. Bill elaborates on this, the ever-growing "New Grass" (aka "Jam Grass") scene and how he went from being a fan of Del McCoury to becoming one of his peers. Nershi also speaks of how his days as an aspiring visual artist led to him creating the band's now-familiar "Pagan Swirl" artwork. He lets us into his thoughts about writing and performing with his wife Jill, Jim Lauderdale and Benny Burle Galloway and speaks of the importance of having a representative of the "lyric police" in the room. The joys of bringing forth new songs to the SCI repertoire, and dusting off old ones (SCI had just a short time before this interview performed the "40 Miles To Tulsa" chestnut for the first time in 20 or so years, and this performance is included at the end). Bill also throws some loved toward key people behind the scenes in the SCI family who plan and execute their most elaborate incidents, and gets a tad emotional when talking about his friend/neighbor Jeff Austin who had passed away shortly before this interview. Seth also speaks with Justin Levy of Conscious Alliance and they briefly discuss how his CA harnesses the energy and passion of the music world to feed hungry people of the wider world. Levy talks about how he found his way to serving others for a living, and gives examples of ways that Conscious Alliance encourages people to participate. The episode ends first with Turner talking about his experience traveling to Philadelphia for a weekend-long Bachelor's Party in celebration of his long-time friend Jefferson Waful (who is the Director of Video at CID Entertainment) and then with a soundboard recording of the aforementioned String Cheese Incident bustout rendition of "10 Miles To Tulsa." Seth and Rob huddle in a corner of Eddie's Attic with Delvon Lamarr, Jimmy James and Keith Laudieri. These three gentlemen make up the Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio. We learn many things including how these musicians' considerable talent and the savvy of Delvon's manager/wife Amy Novo were each able to help lead the band's first cd Close But No Cigar to debut at an impressive #1 on the Contemporary Jazz Album Charts. This turned the "Soul Jazz" trio into an internationally touring act, and they remain one to this day. Delvon, who is a master of the Hammond B3, explains why he decided to become a frontman, how his past as a drummer influences his approach to his organ work, who his primary influences are and about how important maintaining a sense of melody is to his playing. Jimmie James talks about how his blues past shapes his playing, and about how his and Delvon's wide musical palette combines with a mutually adventurous approach to produce wild improvisation with great regularity. These great musicians also talk about their enormous popularity in Europe, and the jazz audiences there. Laudieri is a Texas drummer who that night would perform publicly with the Lamarr Trio for the first time. He spoke of how he met Delvon in Austin (Delvon and his wife have since relocated from Seattle to Austin) and about what it's like to join a trio in which the other two musicians know each other so well. We also learn of some very cool encounters these fellas had with Sharon Jones, Greg Errico and other amazing heroes of music. Rob and Seth have a phone chat with one of Umphrey's McGee's managers, Kevin Browning. They first revel in the joy that is the band's new vape pens, Night Nurse and Day Nurse. Kevin talks about how this collaboration between the band and MedPharm came to be, and some of the specifics about each. They then dive into the 15th Anniversary "redux" release of the band's pivotal record, Anchor Drops. Kevin talks about the decision-making process behind the re-release, the difference between the remix and the remaster and even shares some stories related to the songs. The hosts also discuss Jefferson Waful, who is leaving his position as lighting designer, but Browning speaks of his hope that Jefferson will still offer his video brilliance to the band, as evidenced by the "redux" videos he has this year created for every Anchor Drops song. The folks also discuss Umphrey's McGee's future, including their adventurous destination show in Iceland. Co-hosts Andrew James (@OneWhoSeesDimly) and Eric D. (@HopSnobbery) launch Episode 008 of Riff On off talking about what's been keeping them busy over the last five months. Eric D. blames Andrew on his gigging schedule with The Owl Stars. One of the last shows that The Owl Stars performed was at Stone Corral Brewery in Richmond, Vermont. Stone Corral hosts bands and open mics, typically from 7pm to 10pm. Richmond has an outstanding community, and On The Rise Bakery is mentioned, as well as the Daily Bread. Summer in Vermont has set in, and Andrew and Eric D's kids are out of school until the Fall. The Vermont weather has been fantastic so far this year, but the heat wave of July of 2018 has recently set it. Fortunately, there was access to the pool, swimming holes and beaches, including the Falls of Lana and Thayer Beach. Summer in Vermont means the Vermont Brewers Festival, which is July 20 and 21st, 2018. Andrew hasn't been in a handful of years, while Eric D. has attended almost half of the 25 plus years. Now four sessions strong, the brewfest added the fourth session due to the 11 minute sellout a few years back. Tickets are still available for the 2018 Vermont Brewers Festival. The downturn in brewfest tickets can possibly be attributed to the abundance of beers available on the shelf around Vermont. Eric opens up the Fiddlehead Brewery Cash Or Trade double IPA, which is a special beer brewed for www.CashOrTrade.org which is a website and social network for live music fans to buy, sell & trade tickets at face value. Started by two Phish fan frothers from Burlington, Vermont, the site started with Phish tickets and has moved towards different bands in the jamband scene like Umphrey's McGree, Dead and Company, STS9 and more. The New England IPA and the Vermont IPA beer scene is discussed, especially with the popularity of the craft beer IPA scene of the last few years. The defense of the Vermont name is discussed, including maple syrup and other products, including beer and selling them within the state. Eric D. and Andrew attended a recent going away party at Mule Bar in Winooski and the talk turns to checking in beer on Untappd. Andrew chooses to not rate, but comment on the beer, while Eric D. still choose to rate beers so that he knows if has drank it before and what his thoughts were. Talk turns to Vermont beer, including Idletyme's latest canning offerings, which include Zog's Pale Ale, which Eric D. deems a must try American Pale Ale. Andrew talks Foley Brothers of Brandon and Bent Hill Brewery of Braintree. Finding cans is a bit easier nowadays and the Jolley Stores offer quite a bit and Eric D. shops at 802BWS. Eric D. tracks the different Vermont breweries that offer cans, which is now up to 40 breweries. Lawson's Finest Liquids of Waitsfield will soon be opening their new brewery, including Double Sunshine and Maple Fayston's in cans. Talk turns to Hill Farmstead Brewery of East Greensboro, who is now offering their beers in cans on site only. Speaking of new cans in Vermont, Green Empire Brewing of Colchester now offers Side Business IPA which is very good. River Roost Brewery of White River Junction is now offering Glimpse and Mas Verde occasionally in cans and Good Measure Brewery of Northfield is offering their flagship beers in cans, including Early Riser and Social Club. The latest brewers to offer cans is Mill River Brewing & BBQ in St. Albans and Hired Hands in Vergennes are the latest to offer craft cans and worth checking out. Andrew James hosts The Local Haunt on Facebook. Eric D. also hosts the Let's Fix Construction podcast. www.LFCpodcast.com Thank you for tuning in and be sure to give us a follow on Twitter or Instagram at @RiffOnPodcast and a like on Facebook at www.facebook.com/RiffOnPodcast/

This week’s guest is Andrew J. O’Keefe II – documentarian, archivist for Singularity University, devoted recordist of the emergent planetary culture, and a dear old friend I met back in the Dawn of Time when he was working as the personal assistant to Android Jones. http://www.andrewjokeefe.com/https://www.facebook.com/andrewjokeefehttps://twitter.com/andrewjokeefe?lang=enhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/andrewjokeefe/https://medium.com/@andrewjokeefe We talk about the motivations for preserving and reliving the significant (AND insignificant) moments of our lives. From the role of “tapers” in the success of The Grateful Dead & STS9, Terence McKenna and Robert Anton Wilson, and The Exegesis of Phillip K Dick…to how a donation of 600 books started Harvard University…to a vision of our artificial intelligence augmented descendants living in a world of totally recorded life and currently incomprehensible richness and insight…this is a conversation about why we “save” things, and why we should treat our record-keeping as the sacred task it truly is. “If we don’t preserve what’s important to us, then we run the risk of not sharing it ever again. Nobody might never even know that it happened.” “What exactly ARE our priorities?” “The control of where this stuff is headed is out of any one organization or individual’s hands. On the other hand, we have these central systems of control…if we don’t find a way to decentralize what humanity has developed up to this point, we’re probably going to lose it.” “If we let market forces run [the world]; if we let meaningless trends of shit, surface level culture that’s not even real culture, that’s like iterative loop culture, if we let that dictate things, then as everything gets increasingly out of control or asymmetrical, what the hell else do we have to fall back on?” “I think the paradoxes of living in society are only going to increase at an exponential rate. It’s going to terrify people; it’s going to cause mass chaos in unprecedented ways because we have these centuries-old resentments that technology is not going to erase. It’s only going to make further asymmetrical. The history of all borders: there’re losers. Those people are upset…have a right to be upset. Both psychedelics and the ancient modalities of healing…are going to be the most critical tool that we use to move forward.” See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

This episode features Jeremy Salken and Dominic Lalli....who ARE Big Gigantic... After a brief update from Rob and Seth, they get into it with Big Gigantic, starting with each musician's very beginnings playing as children.. and move through the compelling career of this groundbreaking act. The duo explains how their lives and musical experiences would ultimately find them collaborating in Colorado and working together to create BG. Jeremy talks about seeing Global Funk Council at "The Goat" while he was living in Breckenridge. A spontaneous invitation to jump on stage that night would quickly evolve into him touring with the band. Salken would move to Colorado and link up with The Motet. This would lead to him joining forces with Lalli who had also been suggested by a friend to seek out The Motet. Lalli talks about going from learning basic computer skills to collaborating with members of String Cheese Incident and sitting in with bands like STS9 and Pnuma Trio as Big Gigantic was getting off of the ground. The band talks about extensively about their career and these two fellas reveal themselves to be extremely focused and conscientious lads. They assure us that they effort to be in a constant date of improvement, particularly with regard to their light show. We learn about how the band has remained staunchly independent from the start, and how they turned an opportunity to play Red Rocks into the Rowdytown Festival. The episode ends with Rob seeking a catharsis by revealing embarrassing things about himself, and a full version of a Big Gigantic song discussed in the interview. Antonoise - Jackname Trouble Brennen Bryarly, performing under the ominous moniker of option4, is more house than tech and more deep than disco. Though he calls Denver his home, option4's music is deeply rooted in his Windy City past and the sounds of the vibrant underground house scene that places Chicago on everyone's radar. Though he only started focusing on original music in 2013, option4 has quickly gained a reputation for creating sonically textured house music that extends far beyond the fleeting trends of the electronic dance world. While most producers transition into songwriting from DJing or rely heavily on samples to string together a beat, option4 dives head first into creating his own music from scratch. In his first year in the studio, option4 released two singles, ‘Do Work' - a hard-hitting tech house track with a deep and rhythmic bassline matched with equally impressive synths, and ‘All The Girls', which cleverly splices vocals from N.E.R.D.'s ‘Everyone Nose' while adding a pulsating bass groove and old school house synths creating a dance floor-ready atmosphere. A year on, option4 has accelerated on to playing live shows across the Midwest, Canada and Los Angeles on headline bills and supports for huge acts such as STS9, Moon Boots, Mighty Mouse and Lane 8. Amid turning out eclectic remixes for Elizabeth Rose, Great Good Fine Ok and Indian Summer amongst more, option4 consistently released exceptional original singles like ‘Love like No Other' and ‘Deep Diamonds' to collectively garner over 1.1 million streams on Soundcloud in 2014. A master on the decks, option4 also traded mixes for high-profile taste makers in fashion and music including Thump, Discobelle, Perrier and international outfitters Frank & Oak. With more original material on the way and support from the likes of Justin Jay, Bit Funk and more, 2015 will see option4 turn his focus on original tunes with short breaks out of the studio for live shows throughout the U.S and beyond to add to his already impressive list of club and festival line-ups. Take notice -- option4 is well on his way to soaring far beyond the Mile High City. Twitter - @optionfore Soundcloud - Option 4 Facebook - Option 4 Instagram - @optionfour

In an e-mail sent to ticketholders on April 1st the Oxford, ME-based Nateva Festival announced the cancellation of its 2011 festivities after promoters found themselves “struggling at every turn as we have tried to push forward with preparations for this summer.” The festival, scheduled to go down August 4th-7th, would have seen performances by STS9, Guster, Gregg Allman, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, and more. The e-mail went on to say, “In the end, it's all about being able to put forth a first rate event that everyone can be proud of and that our customers can enjoy. We just don't have the confidence to go forward at this time.” I spoke to Nateva organizer Frank Chandler last week about the cancellation and last year's festival held over the Fourth of July weekend that featured Moe. STS9 closed out 2008, a year that saw stunning success from all facets of the STS9 and 1320 RECORDS family, with their lengthiest headline tour in quite some time. What you find here is the most coherent culmination of over two dozens shows, 7,000+ miles traveled and over 30,000 tickets sold we could sum up. This podcast has it all as it winds from the opening track of an extremely rare stand-alone version of "EB" in our nations capitol to a one-two punch of "ABCEES -> WHAT IS LOVE?" taken from a stop in Sin City, USA to the fan favorite "EHM" in it's dirtiest disguise from Birmingham's historic Alabama Theatre. The cast ends with perhaps one of the most poignant moments of 2008 as an emotional version of "BARAKA" closed out the bands New Orleans show as the sold out crowd began chanting "Yes We Can" as an ode to the pending historic election just hours away. All in all, an amazing time in history to be traveling this vast country. We hope you enjoy the glimpse we've provided here. Thank you for all your support.

Over the course of a number of trips STS9 has made to Japan something becomes more and more apparent with each visit... It feels like a home so far far away from home that's for the most part, beyond description. Whether it's the incredibly welcoming culture of the Japanese people or the lack of a language barrier between STS9 and their fans from Nippon, since day one of our inter-continental travels to the Land of the Rising Sun have been greeted with open arms like no place other. With all that said, nothing could have prepared the band, or the 15,000 fans at this past summer's Metamorphose Festival for what transpired in the hot and humid early morning hours of Sunday August 26th, 2007. What you'll find here are both sets, in their entirety, of music that turned a mass of thousands into what the band described as "the reason they play music". With the sun creeping up over the mountains surrounding Metamorphose the band delivered two stirring sets that we fear might have been lost in translation to those of you state-side that may have let this one slip under your radar. Well, here it is, from start to finish and we're confident that even 6 months later, the magic that was STS9's encore performance to their week long stay in Japan lives on in the hearts and minds of everyone that was lucky enough to attend. SET ONE: BE NICE, RENT, ONE A DAY, LO SWAGA, 1103, MOVE MY PEEPS, UNQUESTIONABLE SUPREMACY OF NATURE

When STS9 stepped onto the stage of the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado for two shows this past September, no one could have anticipated the magic that was about to unfold. In front of over 12,000 fans the band delivered a weekend of music no one in attendance will soon forget. From the first chords of "Breathe In" (featured here) to the weekend closing chaos that was "Orbital" the band delivered every note with pinpoint accuracy and nothing short of fierce execution. They say there is magic in those rocks that create one of the worlds most amazing live music venues. We're here to say that it's true. STS9 closed out the 2007 Memorial Day weekend festivities at Philadelphia's Penns Landing a little earlier than planned. Through out the day, the clouds, heat and humidity built to the point of no return. The national weather service called for rain (ALOT OF IT) at 9:42pm. It hit at 9:41pm as STS9 were rushed off the stage cutting their set down to less than an hour. While short, the set sure was sweet as the boys played knowing they wouldn't have Mother Nature on their side for much longer. Each song is executed as if it were to be the last and it shows in this podcast featuring the entire set from start to finish. STS9 rolled into Boulder, Colorado on an incredibly warm spring day this past March to start something no other band had ever attempted never mind accomplished. FIVE NIGHTS at the historic Boulder Theater all of which had sold out in a mere few days back on a cold December morning. What the band delivered would be considered by many to be one of the best weeks of music they'd created over the course of their near 10 years together. Rarely does the hype get shadowed by the actual results but those that were lucky enough to be in attendance can attest this run of shows broke that mold and many, many others.
