She received her Ph.D. from Northwestern University and is now a Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders at California State University, Sacramento. Dr. Roseberry-McKibbin is also currently a part-time itinerant speech pathologist in the San Juan Unified School District where she provides direct services to students from preschool through high school. Dr. Roseberry-McKibbin's primary research interests are in the areas of assessment and treatment of culturally and linguistically diverse students with communication disorders as well as service delivery to students from low-income backgrounds. She has over 70 publications, including 16 books, and has made over 370 presentations at the local, state, national, and international levels. She is a Fellow of (American Speech and Hearing Association), and winner of their Certificate of Recognition for Special Contributions in Multicultural Affairs. She received the national presidential Daily Point of Light Award for her volunteer work in building literacy skills of children in poverty. Celeste is such a rich resource of information. All the way from the United Kingdom, Rebecca Shaikh shares about the Aware Parenting philosophy. We have an energetic show today with Katherine Jara and she will talk about online learning, a topic that is very timely with the surge of virtual schooling currently happening all over the world. She has 10 years of experience working as an English teacher and being a workshop presenter in 3 national and international English as a Second Language (ESL) conferences in Brazil. Brita De Stefano, a pediatric Physical Therapist and owner of a mobile, in-home and virtual practice called Progress Through Play which supports children from birth to 5 years old. She offers traditional physical therapy along with infant developmental wellness. Brita graduated from Tulane University with a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience in 2007 and then attended Emory University where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT). She went on to complete a one year pediatric physical therapy residency program through the University of Central Arkansas and in 2013 she became board certified as a Pediatric Specialist (PCS). Krysten Taprell is a psychologist from Australia who have worked for 20 years with children and families. She has implemented social and emotional learning programs in primary schools and authored a children’s book about coping with nightmares, which will be released this year. During more than 30 years of public health experience, Kathie Williams has worked in Africa and the U.S. in health care delivery, maternal and child health education, nursing education, development of health literacy materials, and accessing health care for refugees resettled in the United States. Dr. Williams holds a B.S. in Nursing from Duke University, M.P.H. in public health nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a DrPH in Health Promotion Education and Behavior from the Norman J. Arnold School of Public Health at USC-Columbia. Jill Keefer is a yoga teacher who educates children about the importance of movement and the power of breathing. She began her practice 11 years ago shortly after having her first child and realized how Yoga was changing her life. Working with teens on a farm in Charleston, SC, Catherine coordinates them to manage busloads of younger kids.
