Arsenal's Champions League dream ended in heartbreak to PSG 3-1 on aggregate. Despite a performance brimming with courage and pride.Trailing by a goal from the first leg, Arsenal stormed out of the blocks, pinning PSG back and forcing Gianluigi Donnarumma into a string of spectacular saves. Declan Rice, Gabriel Martinelli, and Martin Ødegaard all came agonizingly close, but it was the hosts who struck first-Fabián Ruiz's deflected rocket leaving David Raya helpless and deepening Arsenal's mountain to climb. The second half saw Raya briefly revive hope, denying Vitinha from the penalty spot, but PSG's Achraf Hakimi soon dashed those dreams with a ruthless finish to double the lead. Still, the Gunners refused to wilt. Bukayo Saka pulled one back, and moments later blazed over with the goal at his mercy, as Arsenal pushed desperately for a miracle that never came. The final whistle brought devastation, but also pride. Arsenal's young side fought until the end, showing the heart and belief that defines this club. They leave Paris with heads held high, knowing they stood toe-to-toe with Europe's elite. This is the Arsenal-brave, relentless, and always dreaming.

rsenal suffered a frustrating 1-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semifinal first leg, leaving our European dreams hanging by a thread after a performance brimming with missed opportunities and contentious moments. Despite the setback, the narrow margin ensures everything remains possible in next week's decider in Paris. PSG struck early, silencing the Emirates crowd just four minutes as Ousmane Dembélé capitalized on a slick counterattack. The visitors dominated the opening half-hour, with Donnarumma rarely tested while David Raya denied PSG a second goal with a stunning save on Désiré Doué. Arsenal grew into the game before halftime, nearly equalizing from Gabriel Martinelli's attempt. Arsenal thought they'd leveled early in the second half when Mikel Merino powered home a Declan Rice free kick, but VAR ruled the goal out for offside. Donnarumma then stole the show, tipping a Leandro Trossard drive wide and smothering a late Lewis-Skelly effort. PSG squandered chances to extend their lead, with Bradley Barcola and Gonçalo Ramos and Joao Neves wasting gilt-edged opportunities, but Arsenal's attacking struggles persisted as their final-third precision deserted them. Declan Rice battled tirelessly in midfield, orchestrating transitions and delivering dangerous set pieces, while Lewis-Skelly's fearless dribbling and vision offered glimmers of promise. Saliba anchored the backline admirably, limiting PSG's threats after the early goal, but the lack of cutting edge up front proved costly. While the result stings, Arsenal's European campaign has been defined by resilience-remember Bayern and Real Madrid. A single goal separates them from a final in Munich, and with away triumphs already etched into this season's lore, the tie remains alive. There is more live in this team to turn it around. This is Arsenal: down but not out. The comeback starts now. C'mon Arsenal!
Dave Jones is joined in the studio by Jamie Carragher and Theo Walcott as Arsenal made Liverpool wait to win the Premier League title despite Jean-Philippe Mateta's brilliant late goal off the bench earning Crystal Palace a 2-2 draw at the Emirates. Carragher breaks down David Raya's positioning before Mateta's equaliser while Walcott says Arsenal's performance against Crystal Palace was completely out of character.
Elliot aka @YankeeGunner from the Arsenal Vision Podcast joins Mike to preview Brentford's trip to The Emirates on Saturday night. The Gunners come into the game after a MASSIVE performance in the Champions League in midweek. Two wonderstrikes from Declan Rice and a well-taken goal from Mikel Merino saw Mikel Arteta's side take a three-goal lead into their quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu next week. We reflect on that momentous night, analyse David Raya's tenure in North London, and look ahead to the potential changes to Arsenal's side that could come as a result of their prioritisation of the Champions League. In this episode we discuss the 1-1 draw with Everton on Saturday, starting with an atypical team selection from Mikel Arteta who obviously had the Champions League in mind when picking his starting XI. We discuss the first half, the goal we scored, a sloppy start to the second half and the penalty awarded to Everton. Was it more a referee error, or VAR? We chat about that, and how we still had plenty of time to find a winner but as has been the case more than once this season we failed to do so. We then answer listener questions about this season as a whole, defensive and attacking selections for the Real Madrid game, Jakub Kiwior, David Raya's penalty saving technique, and loads more.In April we'll be donating 100% of our Patreon revenue to four great charities, including the Arsenal Foundation, as well as supporting our friends at ArsenalVision Podcast as they launch their annual fundraiser - https://justgiving.com/page/avp2025Get extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblog Hosted on Acast. Joe Thomlinson is joined by Sam Obaseki on this week's pod to bring you more exclusive chats with some of the biggest names in football. Sam's been to Fulham to meet their manager Marco Silva, who discusses his footballing moves from Portugal to the Premier League, as well as his ambitions for the club. We also hear from Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya, who tells Sky Sports' Johnny Phillips about his first senior appearance in football – as a teenager at non-league Southport. Raya also explains how goalkeeping has changed over the years and looks ahead to Arsenal's Champions League clash with Real Madrid. As well as listening to the podcast, you can watch our interviews on the Sky Sports Premier League YouTube channel, on Sky Sports News and on skysports.com.

Father and son goalkeepers. How many can you name? Let us know any who pop out via all the usual channels. In addition to that, plenty of goalkeeping analysis to dive into this week. Joe Hart and Shay Given both stood up for stoppers as they ran the rule over performances from Dean Henderson, Ederson and David Raya against Ipswich, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United respectively. Meanwhile, Robert Sanchez returned for Chelsea, Robin Olsen kept his first Premier League clean sheet since New Year's Day of 2023 and Kepa committed the cardinal sin of conceding one of "those" penalties. In the EFL, Save of the Weekend contenders go to George Wickens, Jay Lynch and Paul Farman.
Man United showed character by going back to basics and deploying a low block + counterattacking system against Arsenal, and thanks to a glorious Bruno Fernandes free kick, etched out a 1-1 draw against pretenders Arsenal. Could have got all 3 points, had it not been for that scoundrel David Raya! But the most important part of all this is, United have done Liverpool a favour and essentially parceled the Premier League trophy to Anfield. Even if Mukesh doesn't believe it. Yet. In this episode we look back at Sunday's disappointing 1-1 draw with Man Utd at Old Trafford. Arsenal failed to turn first half dominance into chances, and fell behind to a Bruno Fernandes free kick, before Declan Rice equalised late in the second half. We analyse the performance, our continuing issues when we face a low block and how much that is actually a consequence of how we play rather than an opposition tactic. There's also discussion of the heroics of David Raya as the Gunners keeper made a string of saves to ensure we didn't lose the game, Rice's goal and fantastic tackle, Kieran Tierney's cameo as an attacking sub, as well as listener questions about Mikel Arteta and his post-match interview, our lack of threat from direct free kicks, the remainder of the season from a Premier League perspective, the imminent appointment of Andrea Berta as Sporting Director, and lots more.Get extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblog Hosted on Acast. Bruno Fernandes gave the Red Devils the lead just before halftime with a well-struck free-kick—should David Raya have done better? With the game on the line, Raya redeemed himself with some brilliant late saves to secure a valuable point for Mikel Arteta's side. Arsenal's clash with Manchester United in a 1-1 stalemate wasn't as the score reflected. It was only a feather away from a win or a loss - either team. The Goal That Shouldn't Have Been - Bruno Fernandes' free-kick opener, born from a defensive lapse and David Raya's sluggish positioning, felt like a self-inflicted wound. Martinelli's Surprise return was a 58th-minute welcome entrance that jolted the game to life. Rusty but relentless, his mazy run and cutback for Ødegaard forced a heroic save. But why wait so long? Arteta's delayed substitution felt like unlocking a fire extinguisher after the smoke alarm blares. Rice's redemption's thunderous equalizer—a 20-yard missile that rattled the post on its way in—saved Arsenal's blushes. Yet his heroics masked a midfield that too often bypassed creativity for safety. Ødegaard, usually the puppet master, drifted in and out and should have been our match winning hero. Raya's double save in stoppage time, clawing Fernandes' header off the line, reminded us why he's Arsenal's man. This wasn't a bad day entirely —it was a familiar one. A team capable of fighting all through it all. Tune in to the byte-sized breakdown for more. The resilience is what drives us all. We keep moving. Onward Arsenal. Come on you!!
David Jones is joined by Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Jamie Redknapp and Paul Merson as the panel analyse Manchester United's 1-1 draw with Arsenal in the Premier League that sees the Gunners now lie 15 points behind Liverpool in the race for the title. There was also much discussion around Bruno Fernandes' fabulous free-kick as the Arsenal wall wasn't measured to be 10 yards, as well as some super goalkeeping from Gunners goalkeeper David Raya as he made two top draw saves.

What an insane of a match at the Molineux Stadium as Arsenal clinched a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers. This win wasn't just another "happy" win; it was despite the best attempt by external influence to deny us the fair chance to battle for the points. Can we get a swift reprimand please?Talk about a display of character! Arsenal had to dig deep, playing with 10 men for most of the match after Myles Lewis-Skelly's controversial red card just before halftime. Despite this setback, the team showed incredible mental fortitude, adapting their tactics and maintaining their composure throughout the second half.My standout performances included, Declan Rice and David Raya, who were absolutely brilliant in this match. Rice was outstanding, while Raya's showed up in crucial moments in preserving our clean sheet. Listen in for my thoughts on Riccardo Calafiori, who came off the bench to score the winning goal and make a significant impact. There are plenty of positives to take from this game, but also areas where we can improve; starting with our recruitment efforts. Tune in for more details about this gritty performance in our Premier League campaign. Enjoy the win, Gooners. The support breathes life. We've shown we have the fight to stay in it. This is North London Arsenal! Come on you Gunners!

Hello Rank Squad! You heard the music, and we're back in Champions League mode as the newest era of the competition gets underway with the new Swiss League stage replacing the old group stages. This is Part Two of your Takeaways from this week, looking back at the action from Wednesday and Thursday night. We start with Arsenal's trip to Bergamo, where David Raya's heroics meant that Arsenal came away with a hard-earned point against Europa League Champions Atalanta; before looking back at 10-man Barcelona's 2-1 loss to Monaco, Atleti's late winner as they beat Leipzig 2-1, and Leverkusen's return to thumping form as they dismantled Feyenoord 4-0 in Rotterdam. Our first part ends with a few thoughts on Benfica's nervy win in Belgrade over Crvena Zvezda, and Brest's wonderful 2-1 win over Sturm Graz which was sadly not in their own stadium. Then in Part Two, we're onto Wednesday's action, which begins with a look at the 0-0 stalemate between two of Europe's best sides in Manchester City and Inter Milan - a game for the coaches, not the players, in many ways. Popping over to Paris, we examine PSG's (somewhat) lucky win over Girona, head to Belgium to discuss Jamie Gittens' game-changing cameo as Borussia Dortmund beat Club Brugge 3-0, and give some love to a rampant Celtic who dismantled Slovan Bratislava 5-1 at Paradise. Rounding things off, we briefly talk about Bologna returning to the competition after 60 years away with a 0-0 draw against Shakhtar Donetsk, and Sparta Prague's hard-nosed 3-0 win against a very youthful RB Salzburg. It's Ranks! Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Broadcaster Russ Williams, Actor Darren Hartman and YouTuber Patrick Tyrant as Arsenal came out on top in a fiery north London derby as Gabriel's second-half header gave them a crucial victory at Tottenham. The Gunners were without captain Martin Odegaard and key midfielder Declan Rice through injury and suspension respectively and survived a stern examination from Ange Postecoglou's side to spark ecstatic scenes at the final whistle. Arsenal keeper David Raya excelled in the early stages to keep Spurs at bay with fine saves from Dejan Kulusevski while Spurs opposite number Guglielmo Vicario had to be at his best to keep out Kai Havertz's header. Tempers boiled over late in the first half as players from both sides clashed following Jurien Timber's challenge on Pedro Porro, setting the stage for a tense second period. It was Gabriel who made the vital contribution after 64 minutes, escaping the attentions of Cristian Romero to rise and power Bukako Saka's corner high past Vicario. Arsenal always relish any derby victory at Spurs but this one will taste especially sweet as it was achieved without two such significant figures in Odegaard and Rice while providing the perfect platform for next weekend's visit to champions Manchester City.
