Then said I couldn’t travel with the team. All year. Because of my SAT scores. That was a devastating time - Captain of the team my senior year college - After college I was ready to start new. Do something other than gymnastics. Little did I know I would go downhill fast. - A few months of partying going crazy after gymnastics I found myself sitting at a crossroad.... literally in my car. Saying “now I know why people kill themselves” basically I thought to myself that I had no reason to be on this earth. - Owner of BairFit, go check out his website www.bairfit.com - Weekly blogs about fitness, mindset, nutrition, his journey Topics - Journey through depression and social anxiety to become an industry expert and helping others get in great shape without fitness running their life. - My fitness journey: finding the happiness I was chasing in helping a client succeed, NOT in my own gym success - ”If-then” thinking - Struggles with social anxiety - The importance of vulnerability - Shifting how you define yourself from external to internal - Importance of "creating space" daily - Meditation/ ”getting out of your head”/being present - Detaching yourself from your thoughts - Positive self-talk - The faults you see in others are often your own insecurities reflected back at you - Anxiety and depression: where did that come from? Feeling like I wasn’t good enough. That I had to be the best for anyone to love me. Wanting only to impress people. Didn’t think they would love me if they could see my flaws/I was vulnerable. Takeaways - Detach yourself from your thoughts/feelings: realize that these thoughts/feelings are not who you are. - Thinking of the voice in your head as a bad roommate, realizing how up and down it is, and just not true. - The importance of vulnerability to building real relationships. Thinking of it as putting a piece of yourself out there, making it a “building block” for a relationship, which the other person usually reciprocates. - Looking for happiness internally instead of externally. Looks, validation from other people, social media, etc. is all temporary, and very fleeting. It will never make you happy for long. You must find the things internally that you love/value in yourself.

13 Daily Happiness Habits 1) Be a good human Just don’t be an asshat. Hold the door for the lady behind you, the child behind you, the man behind you, THE PERSON behind you. 2) Forgive quickly Not forgiving and holding onto the anger or whatever negative emotion you’re experiencing is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. 3) Be honest It’s true what you were told all of your childhood, honesty is the best policy. That is all. 4) Judge less When you judge someone you’re actually judging yourself. Let that sink in. Doesn’t feel to nice. 5) Exercise Because science. If you want to get into the details here send me a message and we’ll take a deep dive as my man @bedroskeulian likes to say. 6) Eat like you love yourself Unless you’re under the age of 11-ish, you know what feels good when you eat it and what doesn’t. Eat the things that make you feel good. 7) Don't have a victim mindset You are not a victim. IT may feel comfortable and easy to slip into being one, but it will not help you at all. 8) Show gratitude, always Also, because science. It is proven that writing a gratitude list actually creates new neural pathways in your brain. 9) Drink enough water This is necessary for survival, but it also helps with energy, brain power and mood. 10) Be open to change Everything is always changing anyway, so there’s really no use in fighting it. 11) Be patient, but don't wait Patience is mindful, waiting is mindless. 12) Speak well of others No matter who it is speak well of them. Sometimes fewer words is better. 13) Smile more than you frown Smiling just like yawning is contagious. The more you smile the more people around you will smile and the happier everyone will be. Bonus happiness tip: Accept every moment as if you chose it. Because you did.
Austin Cooper -Personal Development Coach -Founder of Sober Evolution, everything from clothing -> events -> to one on one life coaching -Creator of The Sober Experience which has and event coming up in a few weeks in St. Petersburg, FL -He’s been featured on ABC’s 20/20 -Owner of Peachy the Pig -I started drinking at 15 which turned me from being shy to “life of the party” -I started prioritizing my life around alcohol and drugs when I started college -I dropped out of college twice -I became extremely depressed and anxious and self medicated by using alcohol and various drugs -I saw an old friend/drug dealer of mine decide to go to treatment on a Facebook post and witnessed him build his life which inspired me and opened me up to the idea of getting sober -My family gave me an intervention -I spent 22 days in rehab and treated it as a learning camp which allowed me to focus and become confident in building my life. -Soon after treatment, I got healthy, started figuring out my goals and went back to school to get my real estate license. -Through accomplishing things early on, I realized that I could accomplish anything. This excited me enough to start my own influential company, Sober Evolution -Some other accomplishments of mine that have only been possible due to my recovery include: winning a legit athletic trophy, starting my own business, being featured on ABC’s 20/20, getting any job I interviewed for, moving to Florida, creating sober events.3-5 takeaways:-Fears don’t usually come true. They are only a figment if our imagination. -As long as we strive to learn and grow each day, we can overcome just about any obstacles. -The things we want most in life are usually right outside of our comfort zones. -Sober isn’t boring -Each hardship we have in life can be the greatest learning experiences as long as we open our minds to that fact and seek knowledge from those experiences.
Don't give in for what you want now, for what you really want. "If you give in once, you'll give in twice" -Sir Alex Ferguson Giving in once, will lead to giving in again... sooner than later. The reason for this is that, first, you tell your brain that it's ok to give in. Second, you're going to realize that giving in once isn't THAT big of deal, and nothing really happened. But... The more you give in, the more you give in. Just like an itch, the more you itch the more you scratch, the more you itch. The trick is, make a plan to have those moments where built in. Plan for the cheat meal, the drinks on the weekend, whatever it is that you want to do, just plan for it.
