In this conversation at the Review of Democracy, Marija Bartl – author of Reimagining Prosperity: Toward a New Imaginary of Law and Political Economy in the EU – warns that the post-2008 crisis of neoliberalism created an ideological vacuum that would either be filled by a new vision of shared prosperity or by tribal imaginaries. She explains why the EU, despite its neoliberal origins, might be uniquely placed to articulate such a new vision of prosperity, and argues that European law is already being transformed to support it.  Marija Bartl is a Professor of Private Law at Amsterdam Law School. Reimagining Prosperity: Toward a New Imaginary of Law and Political Economy in the EU has been published by Cambridge University Press and is available in open access.

In this episode of the IJGC podcast, Editor-in-Chief Dr. Pedro Ramirez is joined by Drs. Arina Onoprienko and Thomas Bartl to discuss ARID1A in NSMP uterine cancers. Dr. Onoprienko is undergoing residency training in OB/GYN and pursuing a PhD in experimental cancer research at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. Her clinical research primarily focuses on modeling therapeutic outcomes in patients with gynecological cancers and assessing cognitive dysfunction in patients undergoing therapy for disease recurrence. Dr. Bartl completed his residency training in OB/GYN at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria, and is about to commence an ESGO-Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology. Having completed a PhD program in experimental cancer research, he developed a strong interest in translational cancer research with a focus on precision medicine and definition of new therapeutic targets in rare gynecologic tumors.   Highlights: Approximately one-third of endometrial cancers classified as "no specific molecular profile" (NSMP) harbors _ARID1A_-mutations. As ARID1A has previously been hypothesized to be associated with higher risks of recurrence and more pro-immunogenic tumor phenotypes, _ARID1A_ could qualify as a promising future biomarker for NSMPs. Consistent with previous research, _ARID1A_-mutations are associated with a significantly higher risk of recurrence within the NSMP subgroup, which translates into impaired progression-free survival. _ARID1A_ mutations appear not to be associated with impaired disease-specific survival. Based on a small subgroup analysis of patients experiencing disease recurrence, it could be hypothesized that this effect might be partly attributed to a better response to recurrence therapy.

Mein heutiger Gast ist Jahrgang '77 und wohnt laut Xing in Schießmichtot, was wohl in Bayern liegt. Sie hat Fachinformatikerin für Anwendungsentwicklung gelernt und danach Wirtschaftsinformatik an der FH Augsburg studiert. Schnell fand sie Ihre Heimat im Oracle Umfeld mit den Schwerpunkten SQL sowie PL/SQL, ApEx und auch Forms. Heute ist sie Senior Consultant und bei unterschiedlichen Kunden unterwegs. Unsere drei heutigen Gäste kennen sich seit vielen Jahren. Im Jahr 2000 gründeten zwei von ihnen die HYVE AG, eine auf Innovationen spezialisierte Firma, die für mich so etwas wie die deutsche Antwort auf IDEO ist. Unser dritter Gast stieß einige Jahre später dazu und seit dieser Zeit helfen die drei mit ihrem internationalen Team mittelständischen Unternehmen und Konzernen beim Thema Innovationen. Ihr Ansatz nutzt dabei unter anderem Themen wie Crowdsourcing und Co-Creation. Über die Jahre sind dabei auch neue eigene unternehmerische Aktivitäten entstanden, so zum Beispiel ICAROS, ein Unternehmen, das Fitness mit Virtual Reality kombiniert und dabei einzigartige und effektive Trainings Erlebnisse und sehr viel Spaß garantiert. Oder Tawny, ein Unternehmen, das mit der Hilfe von KI menschliche Emotionen erkennt und unter anderem daraus auch Anwendungen für den Bereich New Work generiert. Seit über viereinhalb Jahren beschäftigen wir uns mit der Frage, wie Arbeit den Menschen stärkt - statt ihn zu schwächen. Wie kann ein Thema, das einen so wesentlichen Anteil in unserem Alltag einnimmt, wieder mehr Sinn in unserem Leben stiften? Welche Rolle spielen Innovationen beim Thema New Work und wie entstehen sie in einer Zeit, wo die Grenzen von Unternehmen sich weiter öffnen? Wir suchen nach Methoden, Vorbildern, Erfahrungen, Tools und Ideen, die uns dem Kern von New Work näher bringen! Dabei beschäftigt uns immer wieder auch die Frage, ob wirklich alle Menschen das finden und leben können, was sie im Innersten wirklich, wirklich wollen.

I've known of Chris going back a decade, or more. The tie that binds is powerlifting, and more so now, coaching and trying to live life to the fullest. Chris and I had intense misunderstandings about who the other was, until we hung out at a Mens Event host by Jay Ferruggia, and Mike DeSanti. We discovered, that our lives were more similar than not, and that built a friendship that stands today. Hes doing awesome work with youth, and I think this episode is a good look at where youth sports has gained some ground, and lost some as well. Hope you enjoy, and Please Share.
