Host Carl Jones is joined by actor, comedian and Manchester United fan Marv Dickinson and comedia, Aston Villa fan and host of World Cup of World Cups and World Cup of Euros, James Cook to relive the 1998/99 season. There's the return of David Beckham from France '98 as public enemy number one, Paulo Di Canio pushing over a referee, John Hartson volleying a teammate in the head. Roy Evans budges up for Gerard Houllier in the Liverpool dugout, Big Ron takes his place in the wrong one and Brian Kidd waves goodbye to his seat on the bench at the beginnings of one of the greatest seasons recorded in club football to take Blackburn down instead. Dwight Yorke narrowly avoids being shot by John Gregory, David Unsworth avoids him altogether and Duncan Ferguson becomes the first (and last) player to represent Newcastle United with an Everton crest tattooed on them. There's also some great trivia, hilarious anecodotes and a slightly sombre greatest ever Premier League Cameroonian for reasons that will become apparent. Enjoyed the show? Today's guest is author Rob Carless who shares his memorable matches from 1998/99. We also cover his new book, Three Games In May, breaking down Manchester United's historic Treble - none of which were won untul those final three games. In between remembering Fergie's men's historic achievement, Rob dips into some of his favourite moment from the season, including the inspirational captaincy of Roy Keane, Ryan Giggs scoring a solo goal for the ages, Jaap Stam's difficult initial adaption to life in the Premier League and David Beckham finding redemption post-France '98. Rob also remembers some of the memorable moments for his own beloved Aston Villa, including losing Dwight Yorke to Old Trafford, topping the league at the halfway point of the season and an unfortunate festive-themed air display where we update on how a parachuting Santa Claus recovered from a rather dramatic accident. We'll also reveal the winner of the Premier League's greatest ever Burundian based on your votes from last week's show. Enjoyed the show? Host Carl Jones is joined by comedian and host of Comedians Talking About Football, Sam Michael and Royals superfan and terrace cult hero Johnny Hunt to continue the count up the all-time Premier League table as we reach 43rd place and Reading FC. In this second episode, we cover Reading's second spell in the top flight, the near miss of a return in 2017 and the intervening years that have seen the club fall to the brink of extinction thanks to the disastrous ownership of Dai Yongge. There's an emotional call to arms from both guests and a plea to the wider footballing world not to take for granted that it might never happen to them. We also remember Eamonn Dolan, a key factor in The Royals' success over the years, as well as looking back on some of the wildest results of any club in recent seasons, with a 7-5, 7-4 and 6-4 defeat to chew over. We'll also put a chaotic Premier League Reading XI into the archives, it's more slim pickings for the Premier League's greatest Burundian of all-time and we end on a Royals-themed round of Play Your Apps Right that gets predictably heated. Host Carl Jones is joined by comedian and host of Comedians Talking About Football, Sam Michael and Royals superfan and terrace cult hero Johnny Hunt to continue the count up the all-time Premier League table as we reach 43rd place and Reading FC. In this first episode of a packed double-header, we take a dip into the archives for a potted history of The Royals before covering how Sir John Madejski built a stadium in his own name that would eventually see a record-breaking Steve Coppell side rise to the top flight for the first time in the Berkshire club's history. A fantastic first season sees Reading pushing for the European spots before second season syndrome kicked in and they returned to the Championship - we cover where the lads think it went wrong. Today's guest is former English Comedian of the Year Jack Campbell choosing the unforgettable matches he'd take with him to a desert island. Jack shares his memorable games - and there are quite a lot of them - and mixes in plenty of trivia he's picked up along the way, including his favorite team with a blue and white zebra on the logo, why not having a 'favourite' football team is perfectly suited to the way he consumes football and why Keiron Dyer and Lee Bowyer having a full-on scrap is up there with his favourite footballing memories. We also reveal who the greatest Chilean to earn a place in our Premier League of Nations Hall of Fame is based on your votes! Spoiler alert: you didn't go for an obvious pick... Enjoyed the show? Today's guest is author and comedian James Green choosing the desert island matches with a difference that he'd rewrite the history of. James' new book, What If Southgate Got Subbed?, is a great mix of fiction and non-fiction as James relives some of football's most memorable moments of the modern era and then reimagines them with a new ending - including what might have happened had Terry Venables introduced fresh legs for his Aston Villa defender back at Euro '96. Among the other games we relive, find out what might have happened had Eric Cantona had a quiet chat with the abusive fan in the stand, or if Steven Gerrard hadn't slipped at the crucial moment. We explore two unforgettable Champions League final comebacks, spoil Jamie Vardy's party and teach Paul Alcock karate among other famous moments where things could have been quite different... There's also a welcome return for Premier League of Nations as the greatest Chilean goes into our Hall of Fame - but will it be Bravo, Beausejour, Medel or Sanchez? Today's guest is journalist, author and broadcaster Jim White choosing the matches he'd take with him to a desert island. From memorable Manchester United matches he's covered over the years to England's near miss at Euro 2020, Jim's infectious passion for all things football is evident throughout. In between picks, we deep dive into his brilliant book A History of the Premier League in Ten Matches as he pinpoints the pivotal games that made the English top flight the UK's most lucrative export. There's also some incredible advice for grassroots coaches of junior football, as Jim shares the piece of wisdom he carried with him from one of football's biggest names during his own decade or so on the touchline coaching his son's junior team. Host Carl Jones is joined by former Nottingham Forest striker Jason Lee to discuss his career in football and his spell in the Premier League. From working his way up the league ladder to playing in Europe for Nottingham Forest by his early-20s, things took a turn for the sinister when Baddiel and Skinner's infamous Fantasy Football sketch made him one of the most recognisable faces in the Premier League for a short period in the 90s. From there, we cover the indirect impact of that sketch on his career, his most memorable moments including winning promotion and moving north of the border, and discuss his current role working in EDI and why it's so important for the modern game to keep up with the times. In the first episode of season three, host Carl Jones is joined by Sky Sports presenter and Everton fan Jules Warren to find out which matches he'd take with him to a desert island. From remembering the glory days of his childhood as the Toffees dominated English football to the present day where things aren't quite so rosy, Jules recalls some of his favourite memories at Goodison Park, the Everton legend he'd choose to rescue him from his desert island and the playoff final he'd relive, accompanied by one of English football's biggest personalities. There's also lots of chat about how Jules became a broadcaster, what happens when things go wrong and live TV and how it feels to be on air watching your team get spanked in a Merseyside derby while surrounded by Liverpool fans. In this second part of the interview (and the final episode of this series!), host Carl Jones is joined once again by the voice of ITV football for almost two decades - a job in which he called some of the biggest moments in domestic, European and international football - the incomparable Clive Tyldesley. Picking up where we left off last week, we chat about international tournaments and which host nation proved to be his most memorable trip away. We discuss how football and society are intertwined, for better and for worse, and we cover what it's like to be in the commentary box describing a dismal England exit from a major tournament - especially when it means you've got to call the position of your great friend, the England manager Roy Hodgson, untenable. Clive shares the only time he ever asked a manager if he'd still be in a job by the following weekend, and why he never asked that question again. And he gives insight into what being the voice of the FIFA video games series was like and how it led to the most unlikely moments of being recognised by his distinctive voice. All of that and much more in a superb end to season two of When Football Began Again. Host Carl Jones is joined by the voice of ITV football for almost two decades - a job in which he called some of the biggest moments in domestic, European and international football - the incomparable Clive Tyldesley. From his beginnings as a journalist and later regional commentator for Granada Television in the 1980s to becoming the late, great Brian Moore's successor just in time for one of the most unforgettable final few minutes of the 1999 Champions League final and beyond, this first part is a whistle stop journey through Clive's early life and career. There's tales of reporting on matches involving some of the greatest names in the history of the game, including Clough, Fergie and Bill Shankly. He gives his views on what makes good commentary and what doesn't, talks about his favourite broadcasters and reveals what it was like to be a commentator at the BBC during the height of Motty vs Davies in the commentary box. I also ask Clive what goes through his head in the moments football history is happening before his very eyes, which includes a deep dive into those incredible moments back in 1999 and his commentary that will forever be indelibly linked to that unforgettable comeback. We also reveal who you voted as the Premier League era's greatest ever Bulgarian player. It was a closer run thing than you'd imagine... Make sure you hit subscribe to get part two next week where we cover his time at international tournaments, commentating on England's defeat to Iceland and being the voice of the FIFA franchise. Host Carl Jones is joined by two comedians for a deep dive into the 1997/98 Premier League season. Everton fan Jamie Sutherland and Arsenal fan Andy Kind help retell the stories of hugely contrasting seasons for their respective teams and plenty more besides as Cantona left, Michael Owen emerged Temuri Ketsbaia kicked the sh*t out of some hoardings. Fergie replaces his prodigal frontman with Teddy Sheringham with limited success, Arsene Wengers gets his feet under the table in a spectacular first full season in charge by replacing the pre-match menus and the midfield at Highbury and Christian Gross brings his Tube ticket to a press conference. All of that and much more. We also decide who scored the Goal of the Season, select the greatest ever Premier League import from Bulgaria and end with a 97/98 themed round of #PlayYourAppsRight. Host Carl Jones is joined by comedians and Oldham Athletic fans Stevie Gray and Che Burnley to continue the count up the all-time Premier League table as we reach 44th place. We take a nostalgic trip back to the 90s where schoolboys Che and Stevie were enjoying watching their local team go toe-to-toe with local rivals Manchester United and claiming bragging rights over Manchester City. There were trips to Wembley to enjoy, the goalscoring exploits of a mulleted Ian Marshall to marvel at and a reputation for being everyone's second team, such was their underdog charm. We cover Oldham's potted history, take a look at where things have gone since, and deep dive into the two Premier League seasons that they're still remembered for three decades on. Alongside all of that, Che reimagines how the future could have been for Oldham had their promising side of the 1910s not been decimated by World War I and Stevie tells us about his time as a Junior Latic and a VERY memorable encounter with the Aston Villa changing room. We'll also put a Premier League Oldham Athletic XI into the archives, choosing between the slim pickings for the Premier League's greatest Bolivian of all-time and ending on an Oldham-heavy round of Play Your Apps Right Enjoyed the show? Host Carl Jones is joined by former Notts County, Leicester City, Aston Villa, Southampton, Rayo Vallecano and England midfielder Mark Draper to deep dive into a career that featured Wembley wins, England call-ups and playing against some of the most iconic stars of his generation. We cover breaking through at Notts County, joining Brian Little in the Premier League and following him to Villa Park where he played his part in an unforgettable debut. There's also England regrets, falling out of favour with John Gregory and the moves to the South Coast and Spain before launching his own coaching academies in retirement. He also reveals what a Chairman said to him after feeling he might have paid over the odds for the promising young midfielder at a tribunal and what Matt Le Tissier said to him after a ten minute cameo for England. Host Carl Jones is joined by comedian and Cardiff City superfan Dai Rhys Towler to continue the count up the all-time Premier League table as we reach 45th place. Dai regales us with some incredible trivia on the history of Cardiff City, including how they helped coin the phrase 'back to square one' - an irony not lost on this particular dry-humoured Bluebird - before recalling the dominant City side that won the Championship in 2013 in unfamiliar colours. We also cover the reigns of Neil Warnock (big fan), Malky Mackay (big fan until huge caveat) and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (categorically not a fan) as we relive both seasons in the Premier League, find out where things went wrong for them for both to end in relegation and what Cardiff must do if they ever want to return. We'll also put a Premier League Cardiff City XI into the archives, with two players in particular proving to be poignant picks, as well as choosing the Premier League's greatest Brazilian Goalkeeper/Defender of all-time with fellow comedian and friend of the show Fran Jenking who joins us for the final ten minutes. Host Carl Jones is joined by Tom Flight, author of 'Yer Joking Aren't Ya? The Story of Middlesbrough FC's 1996/97 Season' and huge Boro fan to find out which matches he'd take with him to a desert island. With the caveat that he can only take games from 1996/97, it's a bittersweet trip back down memory lane for even the most balanced Boro fan as the Teessiders record one of the most remarkable seasons in English top flight history. We break down the summer transfer flurry of superstars, the thrilling start to the season, the infamous postponed game with Blackburn in December that would reverberate through the remainder of their season and the multiple trips to Wembley in two domestic cup campaigns that would ultimately end in tears. In between chatting Boro, we find out which cult defender Tom would choose to attempt to rescue him from the island, which matches not involving Middlesbrough remain lodged in his memory and who the best Brazilian attacker in the Premier League era is in his opinion - see if you can guess... Host Carl Jones is joined by Bradford City legend Wayne Jacobs and passionate Bantams fan, comedian and actor Kevin McDonnell, to continue the count up the all-time Premier League table as we reach 46th place. With insight from the stands and the pitch, Wayne gives insight into the step up to Premier League level from Division Two, recalls the match that left him both physically and mentally drained in the opening weeks and gives the inside track on the spirit that lifted Bradford into the top flight, and the disintegration of some of those factors that saw them fall back down the league ladder. Aside from just enjoying the company of his hero, Kevin reveals that he's actually met Wayne before, as well as reliving those glorious seasons that saw City rise to the top table, collecting an array of Premier League stars along the way. Was it all worth the ride in the end? We'll also put a Premier League Bradford City XI into the archives, and we reveal who is the Premier League's greatest Belgian player of all-time is following your votes last week. Enjoyed the show? Host Carl Jones is joined by comedian, actor, writer and huge Newcastle United fan Raul Kohli, to share the matches he'd take with him to a desert island. Recorded in May 2023 as the Toon were about to book their long-awaited return to the Champions League, Raul speaks passionately about what that will mean to his home city, the young fans within it and also himself personally. We also chat about his feelings for Sunderland (spoiler: not wholly positive), the Newcastle managers he'll never forget and why he believes Eddie Howe is on course to surpass them all. We also find out why the Carabao Cup final was the greatest weekend of his life to date, despite defeat to Manchester United, and I ask Raul to help me select the greatest Belgian to ever play in the Premier League. Despite his protests, it wasn't Philippe Albert... Enjoyed the show? Please subscribe, leave us a 5* review and pass the pod to anyone who you think will enjoy it. Host Carl Jones is joined by former Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Bolton and Watford defender Neil Cox to deep dive into a career with more than 600 professional appearances. From being integrated into the first team squad aged just 13 at his hometown club Scunthorpe United to a unique transfer fee to Villa Park and the top flight in 1991, Neil's career path is a fascinating one. Part of the Riverside Revolution, as Middlesbrough signed off at Ayresome Park by winning the First Division title, he was a key member of the Boro side that reached both cup finals and suffered relegation thanks to a points deduction in 1996/97. We discuss that and how his bust-up with Fabrizio Ravanelli led to him meeting Pele. We also chat about what it's like to play in a final day relegation decider, his vastly different relationships with Graham Taylor and Gianluca Vialli at Watford, and his own move into the dugout as Assistant at AFC Wimbledon - what were those first meetings with MK Dons like? Host Carl Jones is joined by Chief Football Writer for The Times, author and broadcaster, Henry Winter, to share the matches he'd take with him to a desert island. Recorded shortly after Henry's return from reporting on Manchester City's Champions League final victory, we reflect on his time in Istanbul, recollect his experience writing the match report for another famous Champions League final involving a Manchester side and find out which current England international he'd choose to attempt a rescue mission from the desert island. We also chat about his time covering international football, his favourite World Cup and the 2016 biography of the England national side he wrote, Fifty Years of Hurt, and its manifesto for change within the English game. Host Carl Jones is joined by founder of the JE3 Foundation Charlie Edinburgh to discuss the work of his incredible charity, the legacy of his dad Justin and the matches he'd take with him to a deserted island. It's an emotional chat in places and an inspirational one in others as Charlie shares how he and his family have coped with the sudden and tragic passing of former Spurs and Leyton Orient legend Justin Edinburgh following a cardiac arrest in 2019. He was just 49. Charlie explains why the Foundation is campaigning to get Justin's Law recognised, the importance of having access to defibrillators in public places where sport takes place and the simple steps everyone can take to improve the chances of surviving an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest beyond the current 1 in 10 - a statistic that is proven to increased with greater awareness, education and access to defibs. For his match choices, the memory of his dad is a thread throughout with a shared love of Spurs and an intense pride of his achievements as a manager with Newport and Leyton Orient featuring. Host Carl Jones is joined by comedian Aston Villa fan and host of @TheAthletic 's The Football Manager Show, Tony Jameson, and comedian and Manchester United fan Phil Walker. In an action-packed show, we discuss the memorable moments, unforgettable matches and iconic meltdowns that made the 1995/96 season one of the Premier League era's all-time greats. We cover the seemingly unassailable lead of Kevin Keegan's thrilling Newcastle United side - and the slow but steady disintegration of that cushion. We remember a famous night at Anfield where an era-defining 90 minutes turned the title race on its head and would eventually lead to a post-match interview that would be parodied to this day. And we look at the influential imports that arrived this season that would become legends with Bergkamp, Juninho, Ginola and Kinkladze all arriving on English shores to light up the Premier League. One player has two entries into our Goal of the Season but still doesn't win and there's a tricky round of #PlayYourAppsRight to get involved with at home to finish. Host Carl Jones is joined by two comedians and passionate Terriers, Howard Walker and Graeme Rayner, to continue the countdown of the all-time Premier League table with Huddersfield Town in 47th place. From winning a league title on goal average (all explained within) to the near misses scattered throughout their history, we jump to David Wagner's reign and a triumphant return to the top flight and survival against the odds before a "difficult" second season and a reluctant change in the dugout saw Town return to the Championship after two seasons. There's also Martin from Wakefield-gate, quite a few players with names that are hard to pronounce, one player whose name isn't particularly hard to pronounce but Carl gets it wrong anyway and old wounds are reopened as we try and decipher why selling Marcus Stewart to promotion rivals Ipswich Town a quarter century ago seemed like a good idea at the time. We'll also put a Premier League Huddersfield XI into the archives, there's another very impressive Play Your Apps Right performance from one of our guests and the lads share their opinions on who is the Premier League's greatest Bosnian player of all-time. One thing's for sure - they're all hard as nails. Enjoyed the show? Please subscribe, leave us a 5* review and pass the pod to anyone who you think will enjoy it. Host Carl Jones is joined by comedian, Edinburgh Award nominee and literal international footballer Josh Pugh for a trip down memory lane and the matches he'd take with him to a deserted island. We discuss his key role in the recent success of England's partially-sighted Futsal team, the woes of being a neutral and not being emotionally invested in a club team as well as his time coaching grassroots football and the excruciatingly accurate Twitter account he set up as a result. Among his favourite games, there's an international semi-final he played in, a moment of redemption at Old Trafford for an England hero and a sensational debut in the Champions League. There's also a compelling argument for why Manchester United can never play Wolverhampton Wanderers at football again, and what the alternative solution for that particular fixture headache might be. We also select the Premier League's greatest ever Bermudan and Josh selects a pretty unbeatable looking all-time Premier League XI. Enjoyed the show? Host Carl Jones is joined by writer and producer Chris Taylor and Nathan Fogg, author of the fantastic How Not To Run A Football Club to continue the countdown of the all-time Premier League table with Blackpool in 48th place. We start with Blackpool's rich heritage as the football club that saw Matthews, Mortensen and Armfield grace Bloomfield Road find themselves in the lower reaches of English football for most of the late 20th century before a spectacular rise led by Ian Holloway sees them take their place in the top flight again via the playoffs. We cover that glorious day at Wembley, the season in the sun where Blackpool lit up the Premier League and the subsequent tumble back down the divisions. There is, of course, a darker side to Blackpool's tale as a fanbase revolted against an ownership that very nearly drove the club out of business, and all while launching costly legal battles against unsuspecting and often wholly innocent members of their fanbase. Chris and Nathan were just two of the fans swept up in that ordeal and their stories have to be heard to be believed. We'll also put a Premier League Blackpool XI into the archives, there's a very impressive Play Your Apps Right performance from one of our guests and the lads answer the question that's been on everyone's lips: who is the Premier League's greatest Beninese player of all-time? Host Carl Jones is joined by former Norwich City, Derby County, Barnsley, Blackburn Rovers and Bradford City striker Ashley Ward to discuss his career in football and the Premier League. From being released by Manchester City as a youngster to dealing with serious injury while breaking through with Crewe Alexandra, Ashley relives those early years and the big move to the Premiership with high-flying Norwich City. He becomes a hero at the Baseball Ground - did he expect Paulo Wanchope to pass on that famous mazy run at Old Trafford? - before moving to Oakwell where his goals very nearly kept Barnsley in the top flight. He discusses his time in star-studded squads at Blackburn and Bradford before finishing his career at Bramall Lane under Neil Warnock. Post-football, he's now living in Dubai running a business with his wife Dawn and had a brief reality TV career. We cover all that and more, including having a son-in-law who just happens to be a multiple Premier League-winning superstar... Host Carl Jones is joined by comedian and Swansea City fan Simon Emanuel for a trip through the memorable matches he'd take with him to a deserted island. We discuss Swansea's rise from the brink of extinction to the Premier League, Wembley and Europe, the cult hero who remains Simon's favourite Swans player ever and just how utterly mind-blowing it was to see his side not only face off against European royalty but also beat them. Simon also fondly remembers his childhood watching on from the terraces of the Vetch Field, Swansea's home for many years, as well as picking a World Cup final and one of the 90s most iconic Premier League footballers as his potential saviour. We also select the Premier League's greatest ever Australian and wax lyrical about the career of Leon Britton, a genuine Swansea City legend. Enjoyed the show? Host Carl Jones is joined by comedians Fran Jenking and Tony Cowards, representing Nottingham Forest and Ipswich Town respectively, to discuss the memorable moments, unforgettable matches and gravity defying goals of the 1994/95 season. We cover the title triumph of Blackburn Rovers, the controversies on and off the field that make headlines on the front and back pages, and the reduction of the league to 20 teams and the relegation battle that ensues. As Eric Cantona's seagulls follow the trawler (worth a watch for Fran's recreation alone...), Love Is All Around is top of the charts and Harry Redknapp is giving fans in the stand their West Ham debut. Happier times. We also choose the Goal of the Season, select the greatest Barbadian to ever ply their trade in the English top flight and there's a ding-dong round of #PlayYourAppsRight to get involved with at home to finish. Host Carl Jones is joined by Middlesbrough fan and author of the fantastic new book 1992: The Birth of Modern Football, Rob Fletcher. We discuss Rob's brilliant new book, breaking down some of the key events that happened in 1992. As well as the launch of the Premier League in the domestic game, there were changes afoot in the format of the European Cup, huge transfer sums being exchanged abroad and even adaptations to the rules of the game that would contribute to 1992 being a truly seismic year for football around the world. In between this, Rob chooses a selection of memorable matches from Middlesbrough's back catalogue and beyond (1996/97 features heavily), selects a few games he'd rather forget and explains why he'd need Roy Keane to join him on the island in a blonde wig. You'll have to listen for context on THAT one... Rob also helps select the Premier League's greatest ever Angolan and ponders whether a year like 1992 could once again be just around the corner for the beautiful game. Host Carl Jones is joined by comedian Pete Selwood and editor of onthepontyend.com Ian Wilkinson to continue the countdown of the all-time Premier League table with Barnsley in 49th place. We'll deep dive into the 1997/98 season as well as covering how Barnsley reached the top flight for the first time in their history. We'll also cover the near misses since and the rather suspect vote back in 1919 that prevented them from making their maiden top flight appearance over a century ago. It's a controversy that still cuts deep in this corner of South Yorkshire, as we discover. We'll also put a Premier League Barnsley XI into the archives, Play Your Apps Right returns and the lads share their thoughts on who the Premier League's greatest Austrian player of all-time is. Host Carl Jones is joined by former Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Wilson to discuss his career in football and the Premier League. A player at Hillsborough during the inaugural season of the Premiership, he'd later drop down to Division One where he'd lead Barnsley to their maiden season in the top flight and very nearly keep them there. He'd later take the reins at Sheffield Wednesday and was on the sidelines as his star player Paulo Di Canio pushed referee Paul Alcock to the floor and left the field in disgrace, never to wear the blue and white stripes of the Owls again. He discusses all of that, plus scoring in a Wembley cup final for Luton, the reasons he never went into international management with Northern Ireland and what Christmas is like for players and managers. We also find out who you voted for as the Premier League era's greatest Belarussian from last week's show. Host Carl Jones is joined live from Qatar by Sky Sports journalist and Sheffield Wednesday fan Joe Rawson. Recorded in December 2022 while Joe was reporting back from the Qatar World Cup, we discuss the character building experience that was supporting Sheffield Wednesday in the late 90s and early 00s, including being at Hillsborough for Paulo Di Canio's infamous push on referee Paul Alcock. We cover Joe's career path from volunteering at his local radio station to Soccer Saturday, reflect on the lost potential of England's golden generation, what it's like to work at a World Cup with a difference and remember the time he had to fill half an hour of radio airtime during an extended stoppage while providing a match commentary. Surely every broadcaster's worst nightmare... Joe also chooses the matches he'd take with him to his deserted island and helps choose the Premier League's greatest ever Belarussian. As ever, the choice is somewhat limited... Enjoyed the show? Please subscribe, leave us a 5* review and pass the pod to anyone who you think will enjoy it. Host Carl Jones is joined by viral stand-up comedy sensation, Coventry City fan and all-round lovely bloke Harvey Hawkins. We discuss absorbing Coventry's 1997/98 season via a VHS season review, the genius of Darren Huckerby and ponder what would have happened had the original Ronaldo ever faced a one-on-one with Steve Ogrizovic.
