Welcome to Breaking Down Boxes. We have compelling conversations with entrepreneurs in the packaging space. In this episode, we talk with AICC President Mike D'Angelo.Mike shares his compelling journey through the packaging industry, offering listeners a wealth of insights into his career progression, the importance of mentorship, and the balancing act between work and personal life. From his childhood experiences to his transition from college to the workforce, Mike's story is a testament to the power of hard work, adaptability, and the enduring importance of personal and professional relationships.About MikeMike is a 40+ year veteran of the packaging industry with experience in the corrugated, folding carton and flexible packaging markets. After graduating from Villanova University, Mike went to work for Bobst North America in a sales support role. Over the next 32 years he rose through various leadership positions in the Bobst organization in various packaging equipment markets. This growth culminated in an 18-year role as Vice President of Sales and Service.Goss International recruited Mike to be its North American Managing Director and to transition its web offset printing press business from the publication and newspaper markets to the packaging markets. This challenge was successfully met, resulting in the sale of Goss to a private equity company. After Goss, Mike continued to pursue service to the paper-based packaging industry by joining AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, as Vice President in October 2016. He was elevated to the President's role at AICC on July 1, 2019. Prior to joining AICC, Mike had been a 20+ year Associate Member of the Association. We talk a lot about fielding equipment here on the podcast, but the command's work doesn't stop once equipment is in the hands of Marines. Things like maintenance, modernization, software updates, and technical support continue through the life of the equipment. And for some systems, included in that is 24/7 technical support provided by the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity's Warfighter Support Division, or WSD. On this episode Morgan talks with Rick Bobst, Deputy Director of WSD.

In this episode, your unreliable narrator spends 45 minutes talking shit about more successful collaborators who have become the momentary fixation of paranoid persecution fantasies and incorrectly referring to Ronan Farrow's coined tem, "Checkbook Surveillance," as "Checkbook Capitalism" until three quarters of the way through. The raspiness in her voice is hopefully attributable to a slight cold, yet so timely. This is Gonzo journalism at it's finest.

This is an audio recording of the webinar we ran back in December called: 'Will B2B sales ever be the same again?' and it was a brilliant and timely chat about how B2B sales teams go to market, prospect and sell in a remote world. Something we all had to get used to over the last 12 months. As we come out of lockdown in the UK, the question to ask ourselves is will we revert to business as usual or have we all developed new behaviours and habits that will stick with us for the longterm? Our panelists for the discussion were: Brent Adamson the VP of Gartner and co-author of the challenger sale methodology Marie Begfelt - Head of Marketing Portfolio Communications at Bobst Geoff Phillips - former Marketing Director at Sage and now founder of Canvas marketing. Go to fox.agency/clientside where you can see our latest webinar: The Golden age of IoT. Until then enjoy the audio recording of the webinar: will B2B sales ever be the same again?

In a bit of an unconventionally structured episode, Cooper Union student Javier Blancas talks about why he came to New York to study architecture, deconstructs why the Vessel in Hudson Yards is bad and drops knowledge on the history and structure of other famous NYC locations, and he even analyzes some NYU buildings like Bobst and Tisch. Javier also explains how he simultaneously explores his passion for politics and activism at Cooper Union, and his thoughts on the recent debates and current presidential candidates. P.S. Javier and Alyssa went to the same high school! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
