Many women and children are exposed to violence, exploitation and other risks, including death and family separation, during their migration journeys. Despite the recognition that gender and age shape migration experiences, there is limited data and analysis that systematically and directly addresses how and why migrant women and children go missing or become separated. To reduce this knowledge gap and identify steps to mitigate risks for women and children, the ICRC's Central Tracing Agency and the Red Cross Red Crescent Global Migration Lab undertook research across the Americas, Africa, and Europe.[1] In collaboration with 17 National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies,[2] we spoke to over 800 migrant women and children, families of missing migrants, and key informants to hear their stories, concerns, and proposed solutions. In this post, we present key insights from the recently published research reports that draw on migrants' lived experience to identify drivers of deaths and separations, obstacles to maintaining contact and searching for their missing loved ones, and strategies to ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of migrant women and children.

I in no way shape or form am ready to date a man but a girl has needs. My girlfriends keep saying I should get on the apps which seems good in theory except that I live in a small city where everyone knows everyone and I know I will come across his mates on the apps who will tell him that I’m on there and then he will be even nastier than he is now. I just don’t know if I should say ‘fuck it’ and do it or is it too soon? Help IS A 6 MIN VOICE NOTE FROM A POTENTIAL DATE A RED FLAGMy friend was chatting to a guy on hinge for 2 days. They eventually exchanged numbers and after 4 days they planned to meet, but she got cold feet because he was appearing too ‘keen’. Keen as in messaging multiple times throughout the day without her responding and would do things such as react to messages to get her attention in hopes she would respond. She attempted the slow fade away, replying after 24-48 hours later. However he wasn’t getting the message and she decided to tell him she wasn’t interested in pursuing anything. As a response he sent her a 6 MINUTE voice message, attempting to convince her to give him a chance. My friend is CONSIDERING giving him a go, because she appreciates the effort he has made. (Keep in mind they haven’t met yet). I think this is an awful idea and a 6 minute voice message is a big red flag. What would you do? HOW TO KNOW IF RELATIONSHIP IS OVERHow to know when your relationship is done? My husband and I have been together for almost 11 years. We’ve been through ALOT in that time including a separation and couples counselling. We have an almost 3 year old and suffered a miscarriage 3 months ago after trying for 16 months. Long story short, everything he does lately pisses me off. He teases our son which I hate because I copped that as a kid and it made me incredibly uncomfortable and gave me low self esteem. I’ve spoken to him about it and “he’s doing it for fun and to make him less soft” but I just find it mean. There’s that and a few other things and I can’t tell whether we’re just going through a rough patch with everything that’s happened or whether I’m just done. Interested to hear your opinions. CAN I TELL MY INLAWS I DON’T WANT THEM STAYING OVER NIGHT?My in-laws currently live 1.5hrs away from us. Often when they come to visit us, they want to stay the night. We have two young children and a small unit. I find it all gets a bit overwhelming when they stay over because they have big personalities and quite different views to mine. My partner also clashes with his parents at times and it can all get quite heated. They also have a small dog who like to piss in our house on arrival They want to move even further away from us. I think they think they will just stay over at our place when they want to see their grandchildren. I’m all for day visits and catch ups but is it rude to tell them they can’t stay at our place overnight? How do you word that nicely? Just a week and a half back into the presidency, Donald Trump has seen to it that various federal prosecutors who were involved in prosecuting him have been fired. Can he do that? Also: the DOJ continues to drop cases against defendants who enjoy Trump's political favor, so other defendants and convicts are trying to curry Trump's favor, including former Sen. Bob Menendez, who was just sentenced for a bribery scheme that didn't even involve a Mercedes E-Class. And Meta has paid a large settlement to Trump — mostly going to his presidential library foundation — in what looks like a strategic payment to get back in the president's good graces, since Trump's underlying lawsuit against the company was quite bogus. Efrén himself is an immigrant, and he joins us to talk about his incredible book, My Boy Will Die of Sorrow: A Memoir of Immigration From the Front Lines.   About the Guest Efrén Olivares is the deputy legal Director of the Immigrant Justice Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center. He was the lead lawyer in a successful landmark petition to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights on behalf of families separated under the zero-tolerance policy. He previously directed the racial and economic justice program at the Texas Civil Rights Project. His writings on immigration policy have been published by the New York Times, USA Today, and Newsweek. He has testified before Congress and at briefings on Capitol Hill about immigration and border policies. He was the first member of his family to attend college. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Yale Law School. He is author of My Boy Will Die of Sorrow: A Memoir of Immigration From the Front Lines.

It may be due to schedules, Separations, Or just not getting a kiss. PAUSE So, take a deep breath, And open to feelings of love. Where is it missing? Where is it not enough?  PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, Wrapping yourself in a pink bubble. And allow yourself to feel love, Imagine the feeling doubles.  PAUSE And see yourself, Out in the world, Finding love and attracting love, Like an oyster with a pearl.   PAUSE And breathe into the pink, That surrounds all of you, And trust that you're attracting, The love that's best for you. PAUSE And now, you know the secret, To getting love from the outside, But there's another important place, Where love resides. PAUSE So, breathe deep, And exhale again, Then take a moment, And look within. PAUSE Because love on the outside, Is important for us all,  But lacking love on the inside, Can create a wall. PAUSE So, take a moment and breathe, Then whisper these words, “I love myself always in no uncertain terms.” PAUSE For the more you love you, The greater attracting love will be.
