Early in the morning of March 1, 2008, two men entered the Caffey family home in rural Alba, Texas. Terry Caffey and his wife Penny had been living a quiet, peaceful life in their modest country home with their three children, Erin, Matthew, and Tyler. A violent break in was the last thing the family could have ever expected. After family members were attacked by armed assailants, their home was set on fire. 41-year-old Terry was shot five times, but he somehow managed to crawl to his only neighbor, about 400 yards away, leaving a trail of blood in his wake.Join us at the quiet end for Daddy's Little Girl. A home invasion and mass murder were not something the tiny Texas town of Alba had ever seen before. When 16-year-old Erin Caffey was found alive, she appeared to be in a state of shock. But right away, investigators wanted to know what Erin knew about the attack. Her father Terry rejected that idea that Erin could have any knowledge of the crime against her own family members, but he believed her older boyfriend was behind the attack.

Sunday morning 6/20/21 - Miracles Series - Sermon titled "Daddy's Little Girl - Pastor James Eakins
In this episode, we're getting emotional so bring all the tissues. I talk about the stressful and overwhelming time I've been having. My week of drinking, spending time with loved ones, a zoo visit, and a Taylor announcement that made it all better. I then go into the topic of why I don't celebrate Father's Day. I talk about my childhood and growing up with an alcoholic and abusive father, how it's affected me growing up and how I'm doing now. I then read some articles I wrote addressing him. I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for him leaving and not being in my life for over half of it. We do a good job at perceiving others the way we want to on the outside when we have too much damage inside us. If you can relate to this episode, I want you to know I see you and I'm here for you. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

My guest this episode is Madison Cadet. Madi is one of my three children and my only girl. Except for the gear she sees me lugging in/out of our apartment and the stuff she hears me talk about sometimes, she really doesn't know much about hunting. But after I killed my first turkey back in May...she was the only one, in my family, to partake in the meal. Now since her little brother was my very first guest on the podcast, I figured that Madi and I were long overdue for a little “heart to heart” talk. This week, we talk to the phenomenal Ade Balogun about two of our favourite things; work and family! Ade has had an interesting career; from architecture to e-commerce to simultaneously owning a hair salon and working on renewable energy for low income households. After discussing her career journey, we delve into her family life, discussing her blissful childhood and early adulthood as a sort of, kind of only child to a decade long rift with her father and their reconciliation. We also get into what it’s like dealing with the public health system while caring for a sick parent, and honouring a parents religious beliefs and performing traditional rites in their honour. Tonight we did Shag! A 1989, girls gone wild movie that's all about cute Southern boys, the Miss Sun Queen contest, and shagging! One of Sweetie's favorite films from her childhood as it taught her all about 'doing it at the ripe old age of nine years old, Shag takes place in South Carolina in the summer of 1963. It's Carson's last hurrah as she is set to marry Harley (the square) until she unexpectedly falls in love with a handsome stranger (Buzz!) and realizes that marriage is for the birds! This movies stars three ladies who were a pretty big deal in the 1980s - Phoebe Cates, Bridget Fonda, and Annabeth Gish and also features great music, amazing 60s costumes, and a lovely story about living out your dreams - whether that be going to Hollywood or sleeping with the town redneck, entering a dance contest, nabbing the southern gentleman fiancee of your bff, or getting nailed in the cabin of a boat called Daddy's Little Girl. Dream big people! We'll talk about our own trip to Myrtle Beach on a Dumas family vacay in 1998, if a penis actually has a bone in it, and what Shag character do we most identify with. He's a sweet potato!

In 1999, Ontario Country artist Shelley Buffitt released her debut album My First Love. The acclaimed album received airplay world-wide and garnered Shelley the 1999 Nashville Tracker Magazine "Female Vocalist of the Year" (European market). Shelley was nominated at the OCMAs for Female Vocalist of the Year, as well as Album of the Year in 1999. Riding on the success of her debut album, Executive Producers at Five Star Productions decided to release Bad Side of Town in 2000. This was a wise move as that year The Ontario Country Music Association recognized Shelley's contribution to the Canadian music scene by nominating her for Female Vocalist of the Year, Rising Star and Duet of the Year (with the multi-talented songstress, Kelly Vohnn.) The album features the musicianship of Wendell Ferguson. This same year, TVOntario filmed a documentary about Shelley and her music on their show Studio 1 with Steve Paikin. In July 2014, Daddy’s Little Girl - a song from Shelley's album Beyond This Woman - was released to Canadian Country radio.
EPISODE 84 ON JERRY ROYCE LIVE!Show MoreMilan Brooks, a fashion buyer with a chip on her shoulder had been through her share of men. Though, in most people’s book she’d be rated a true dime she still hadn’t been lucky enough to find one loyal man. Every man she’d dealt with had either cheated or disrespected her too much to turn back. Author extraordinaire Brittani Williams began her foray into writing by happenstance when she was required to pen a play as an assignment. It was then that Brittani discovered her unbound imagination, creativity and the escapism rooted in great literature. After much encouragement from family, friends, and co-workers alike, Brittani’s hobby became a profession in 2005 when she completed her first manuscript entitled Automatic Princess, (later renamed Daddy’s Little Girl). Within four months of her completed manuscript Brittani was signed to a two-book deal with Q-boro Books. In June 2008, Brittani released The Cathouse, a novel co-written with Anna J and Laurinda D. Brown. The following December her third novel, Black Diamond, was released by Urban Books. Two short years later in 2010, the sequel, Black Diamond 2: Nicety was released. To broaden her horizons beyond exclusively writing novels, Brittani made her directorial debut in June 2010 with the stage play adaptation of one of her bestselling novels, Black Diamond. In addition to directing, Brittani also wrote and produced Black Diamond the stage play; which successfully debuted to a sold out crowd of over 700 on its opening night. On the heels of her successful stage play, Brittani signed a three-book deal with her publisher, Urban Books, for Cover Girl, Black Diamond 3, and the forthcoming novel, Hell on Heels. In early 2014, Brittani is poised to release several shorts and novels, including Daddy's Little Girl 2, The Don's Desire and a teen series titled Bad Choices. At just 32 years old Brittani has sold approximately 100,000 books, making her a force to be reckoned with!
Born and raised on the farmlands of rural Ontario, Murray Williams released his debut single “Thank a Farmer” in 2006. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, piano, bass and banjo, Murray began performing at the age of 14 when he formed a band called Harley Express with classmates. After that came Night Shift, which hit the Ontario circuit on weekends for about 10 years. After a short break, Murray played in a duo, which eventuallyy grew into a four-piece called Common Thread. Country fans are loving his current album Goin' Nowhere Fast which showcases traditional country music - a great collection of originals like the heartfelt "Daddy's Little Girl" and covers like Murray McLauchlan's "Farmer's Song" and Kenny Chesney's "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy." Murray's latest single is the moving "Love Song For My Father." Tami J. Wilde is a singer/guitar player/songwriter on a music mission. She hails from the Peterborough area. Tami has proudly released her self-titled debut album featuring her songwriting on every track. The CD was recorded by James McKenty from The Spades.Tom Street played drums. Ken Tizzard played steel on many of the songs. From the opening track "Me And My Ole Guitar" through to the closing track "Redneck Ramble", Tami takes you on a musical journey full of characters you'll recognize and experiences you'll want to relive. It's country meets rock meets high energy performances.
