This week: The US is weakening ties with its biggest ally while embracing an old enemy. Felix Salmon, Emily Peck, and Elizabeth Spiers explain how the Trump administration's antagonization of Europe – and further alignment with Russia – could mean major economic blowback if it goes far enough. Then, rumor has it that Intel is looking to sell parts of its business off to foreign firms Broadcom and TSMC, possibly with Trump's blessing. The hosts explore the likelihood of the deal happening and the frankly confusing logic of it all. Finally, they discuss The Cut's deep dive into the brand Quince and what makes the “one stop dupe shop” so popular. Plus, another edition of Egg Watch 2025 featuring the Wall Street of Eggs. In the Slate Plus episode: Med spas are taking over America. Want to hear that discussion and hear more Slate Money? Join Slate Plus to unlock weekly bonus episodes. Send us a Text Message.Tracy Byrd burst onto the Country Music Scene in 1993 with his self-titled debut album under MCA Records, quickly becoming a household name. The album's third single, "Holdin' Heaven," soared to #1 on the Billboard Country Charts, while his remake of Johnny Paycheck's "Someone to Give my Love to" further solidified Byrd's status as a Traditional Country Troubadour. The debut album achieved Gold certification, indicating sales surpassing 500,000 copies.Following the success of his debut, Byrd's sophomore effort, "No Ordinary Man," maintained the momentum with hits like "Lifestyle's of the Not so Rich and Famous" and the chart-topping "Watermelon Crawl," propelling the album to Double Platinum status. The album's fourth single, "The Keeper of the Star's," clinched the #1 spot on both the Billboard Album and Singles charts, earning Byrd an Academy of Country Music's "Song of the Year" award in 1995.Byrd's subsequent albums, including "Love Lessons," "Big Love," and "I'm From the Country," continued to garner critical acclaim and commercial success, with multiple singles reaching the top of the charts. His transition to RCA Records led to the release of "It's About Time," which showcased his affinity for traditional country music. In the new millennium, Byrd's album "10 Rounds" brought further success with hits like "A Good Way to get on my Bad Side" and "10 Rounds with Jose Cuervo," both reaching #1 on the charts. Despite label changes, Byrd's popularity remained steadfast, evident in the success of his subsequent projects and his ability to draw crowds with over 4000 live performances.Taking a hiatus from 2010 to 2013 to prioritize family, Byrd returned to music with newfound sobriety and passion. His album "Different Things" may not have achieved commercial success, but it earned critical acclaim, highlighting Byrd's versatility and depth as an artist. In 2016, Byrd released "All American Texan," marking his return to the studio after a decade. Recorded in Tyler, Texas, the album showcases Byrd's songwriting prowess with eight original tracks. Embracing his roots, Byrd continues to captivate audiences with his authentic Texan charm and unwavering dedication to his craft.www.betterhelp.com/TheBarnhttp://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn http://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarnThis episode is sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn and presented to you by The Barn Media Group.

This is Dr. MaryAnn Diorio, Novelist and Life Coach, welcoming you to another episode of Winning with the Word. Today is Saturday, May 25, 2024, and this is episode #15 in series 2024. This episode is titled, “How to Get On God's Bad Side.” If you want to get on God's bad side, oppose Israel. When one opposes Israel, one opposes God Himself. To oppose Israel is not to avoid honest discussions about her people, her policies, and her purpose. It is not to refrain from asking questions about her past or her future. To oppose Israel is to speak against what God has spoken about her.On the other side of the coin, supporting Israel does not mean supporting everything she does or stands for. To support Israel simply means to agree with what God says about Israel. Nothing more. Nothing less. So, to put it succinctly, opposing Israel means to oppose whatever God says about Israel, and supporting Israel means supporting whatever God says about Israel. So, what does God say about Israel? To find out, we need to go to the Bible. In that great, best-selling book of all time, God does the following:1) He makes it very clear that Israel belongs to Him. For example, in the Book of Joel 1: 6, God says this about Israel: "For a nation has invaded My land, powerful and without number; its teeth are the teeth of a lion, and its fangs are the fangs of a lioness." And in Genesis 35: 10-12, we read this: "And God said to him, 'Though your name is Jacob, you will no longer be called Jacob. Instead, your name will be Israel.' So God named him Israel. And God told him, 'I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation—even a company of nations—shall come from you, and kings shall descend from you. The land that I gave to Abraham and Isaac I will give to you, and I will give this land to your descendants after you.'"2) God makes it very clear that those who try to destroy Israel will themselves be destroyed.Joel 3: 2 gives us the following warning: "I will gather the armies of the world into the valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will judge them for harming my people, my special possession, for scattering my people among the nations, and for dividing up my land." This event is known as the Battle of Armageddon and will occur in the not-too-distant future, at the end of the seven-year Tribulation. When God speaks about dividing up His land, He is referring to the dangerous attempts of this present day to create a two-state solution to the problems in the Middle East. A two-state solution flies in the face of God's promise to Israel. A two-state solution will result in a dividing of the land of every nation that promotes a two-state solution. Here in the United States, we have a major fault line right down the middle of our country. Tremors have been increasing in that region, to the point that geologists are concerned about a major earthquake that will destroy America's heartland. If this happens—and I believe it will—America's land will be divided in two. As long as our nation supports a two-state solution, we are in danger.A little research will reveal that every time America pushed for a two-state solution, that push was followed by major disasters. I have attached a PDF file titled Land-for-Peace Disasters, compiled by my husband, that lists the disasters that occurred here in America after each push by a United States administration toward a two-state solution. It is eye-opening. Hebrews 10: 31 warns us that “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” To go against God is to seal your own destruction. Those who seek to destroy Israel will one day fall into the hands of the living God unless they repent. If you are one who opposes Israel, I urge you to reconsider your position in light of what God says about Israel in the Bible.

There's no light switch here, but we do have to make changes." -David Israel From the way it tastes, to the way it smells, to the way it melts over a perfectly cooked Asiago chicken breast (or pasta, or pizza, or a cracker, you name it)— so yes, we do love cheese! It's one of life's great pleasures. However, cheese is also one of the biggest contributors to climate change and injustice towards animals. As the world population climbs and livestock-dependent farming practices remain, it has become necessary to develop more sustainable production methods. Our planet needs every business and individual to take ownership and save it. In order to help mitigate the harmful effects of the dairy industry, GoodPLANeT Foods set out to create a premium plant-based cheese that is better for the planet and also better for humans. The company's founder, David Israel, challenged the idea that good food has to be complicated, especially when it comes to its environmental footprint. That's why he sold the snack company he founded in 2011 (POP! Gourmet Foods) and shifted to creating something that brings all the flavor with none of the guilt. In this episode, David shares the challenges he faced and the blessings he received from creating a joyful cheese experience for their consumers. Justine and David also discuss how we can create balance and inclusion in our products, the good and bad side of competition, and how we can help our consumers to be willing to give plant-based alternatives a place in their choices. Meet David: David Israel is the Founder of Good PLANeT Foods, the maker of premium plant-based allergen-free cheese products. He has years of expertise in the food and beverages industry and is a professional in business development.
