Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're discussing the CAST members of Harry Potter. Specifically, we'll be addressing what the Harry Potter cast FULL of superstars is doing NOW (2022). When we think of the Harry Potter films, it's hard to believe that the most recent installment came out over a decade ago, with the Deathly Hallows Pt 2 hitting the silver screen in 2011. But if that doesn't sound like a long time ago, then it MAY surprise you to hear that the first installment, the Philosopher's Stone, came out a decade before THAT in 2001. But while it's been quite some time since we've seen the original cast in action, they did give us 10 years of great movies, which I'll be forever grateful for. Today I'm going to be exploring what your favourite characters (50 of them for that matter) are up to in a post-Harry Potter world. What have they achieved in their acting careers / personal lives during these past 11 years? Let's get in to it.

“Help will always be given at Hogwarts Harry, to those who ask for it. I've always prided myself on my ability to turn a phrase. Words are in my not humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic, capable of both inflicting injury and remedying it. But I would in this case, amend my original statement to this. Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who deserve it.” We have officially reached the final episode of Season 1 of Cheaton Explains. Welcome to everyone who has stayed with me this far. Thank you to all of you for supporting this podcast and allowing me to be your guide through the magical world of Harry Potter. This episode is really just myself and Faatima remembering the good time and everything we have shared so far. All the movies, all the theories and just everything that made us fall in love with the series. Thank you so much again and now let me take you one last time through the doors of Hogwarts.
Hello fellow humans and Harry Potter fans and welcome to the second last episode of Cheaton Explains, season 1. We are almost at the end of this journey and I am pretty sad. But it's not about the end, it's about what we did on the way there. In today's episode, I'm going to take you through the last two movies in the Harry Potter series. I would say that it's because they are literally one story and pt 2 starts where pt 1 ended, but it's really because I didn't want to make a whole episode dedicated to each movie. This one is an emotional one. Everything we know changes in these movies and honestly, they will put you through the most emotionally. This episode will be a bit longer than usual but you've made it this far, sooo i don't think that will be a problem for you. I would also to just say thank you to all of you for listening to the podcast so far. It is greatly appreciated. So sit back and get some snacks and let me take you through our last year at Hogwarts.
Is it too soon to say that we miss Dobby? Bill Weasley's awkward introduction into the film franchise, fangirling over Flitwick, and Daniel Radcliffe's performance of the 7 Harry's are all discussed on this week's episode. But we have to say, in a world full of magic this film is entirely lackluster. For more Harry Potter and other movie & tv reviews from The Basic Cinephile, follow us on Instagram! We are once again joined by Ryan Wall for our discussion of the penultimate Harry Potter film. This time its for one of our favorite entries into the series.
The Battle for Hogwarts has begun in our episode on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, directed by David Yates and based on the novel by J.K. Rowling. We delve into Snape revelations, character deaths, the rules of magic, and tally up the unanswered questions of the films. We also wonder if Nagini could have become the master of the Elder Wand.
We have finally arrived at the epic conclusion to this series, but that's not going to stop us from dragging it out! This episode we discuss the film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, directed by David Yates, and the first portion of the novel, written by J.K. Rowling that this film is based on. We delve into the many unexplained components of the film, Ron's status in the trio, awkward dance scenes, and we finally put a pin in the house elves discourse!

Thanks.
Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 film. The time has come! Before our well-earned pre-Cursed Child break, we watched the final Harry Potter film, and we have so many questions. What worked? What didn't? What was changed? Why is Molly standing everywhere? Why did Voldemort bust when Ron and Hermione destroyed the cup of Ravenclaw? And did this mf really say ponsieve? All this and more in this feature-length episode--including our official Movie Rankings discussion to match last week's book list! Also, a huge thanks to crocoshift on twitter for the incredible Cameo from Tom. holy shit

Oh my gosh, we recorded an episode! The conclusion of our series on the Harry Potter films is here, and we’re revisiting all your favorite places: Hogwarts Castle, Gringotts Bank, Hogsmeade, and Platform 9 3/4. We’ll discuss the history and development of castles—from military fortresses to royal residences and projections of wealth—plus how that fits in to the transition of Hogwarts from school to battleground. We’ll question the bittersweet end to a mysterious character in Severus Snape, and debate whether his sacrifices redeem his darker nature. Finally, we’ll reflect on the series as a whole, its most potent themes, and our most inexhaustible source of magic. Thanks for bearing with us as we figure out the future of the podcast with a new baby in the family. Grab your Deluminator because things are about to get a lot darker before the dawn. In Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows pt 1 (2010), we break the usual format—a year at Hogwarts, a final battle with the villain—for an unlikely road movie with all kinds of 2020 corollaries. As Harry and friends hunt down Horcruxes, battle with heretofore unspoken tensions within their relationships, and face doubts in each other and themselves, we’ll explore how the series so far has interrogated the mythological format. This installment—characters on a quest, nearly possessed by an evil object—may have the most in common with traditional fantasy like The Lord of the Rings, but it continually reminds us that its relationship to myth, folklore, and legend is extremely different to that of Tolkien’s world and much other fantasy. We’ll talk about more parallels to the Arthurian Legend, the significance of new (and old) magical artifacts, and more. — We will be donating our Patreon earnings for November & December to the Transgender Law Center, the largest national trans-led organization advocating for a world in which all people are free to define themselves and their futures. Our two adventurers set sail through the Deadfire archipelago, hot on the heels of the keep-stomping, giant-stealing, adra-devouring God, Eothas, in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire. But with Ben playing as impatient neutral and Tao as dignified evil, can they get along? They spill secrets of their raunchy (on-screen) romances, question the rising trend of maritime oriented games, and probe the merits and disadvantages of diving too deep into the ‘role playing’ in role playing games. Major spoilers from around half way, also spoilers for the original Pillars of Eternity. Content Warning: PEGI 15. Strong language. It's graduation day for the smoothie boys and their time at Hogwarts has finally come to an end. Cage and Robby reflect on their time during the series and how it took them a long eight months to watch eight movies. Now they say goodbye to the wizards of Waverly... I mean Hogwarts.
OK, so we're (still) doing this. We recorded before a lot of real-world shit went down, which is just the way of things these days, but we still managed to talk about Ibram X. Kendi and class warfare. Very on-brand. Also this week, Ron eulogizes poorly; Fleur-ence Nightingale nurses an enormous number of people back to health; Griphook expresses correct and healthy skepticism of so-called "ally" wizards; and Greg uses the elder wand for SEO. Damn it, Greg. Plus: Grief. This week's chapter: The Wandmaker Next Week: Movie Mini for Deathly Hallows Pt. 1
The final fight is underway and your favorite smoothie boys are exhausted already. In a rare occurrence, an episode will be split into two parts for the listener's benefit. This may be the case for long movies moving forward, we'll see.
The OG smoothie boys are back in the saddle, set to finish this series off... FOR GOOD!!
The boys seem smooth with movies on the pod, but in real life, especially with the ladies...not so much The movies this round for IMDb 250 had some of the most WILD 3rd acts of any movies we've seen so far. IMDb 220: Rang De Basanti: A group of Indian youths cast to portray freedom fighters from their country in the 1920's learn the importance of activism and standing for what's right. Is this the best Bollywood film we've seen yet? IMDb 219: The 400 Blows: A French boy who comes from a troubled home must navigate growing up and making his own decisions. Is French New-Wave the most impressive new genre we've come across in our IMDb 250 Challenge? IMDb 218: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 2: The final installment to the Harry Potter saga, but is it deserving of being the only film to make it into the IMDb 250? IMDb 217: Dead Poet's Society: A group of young boys at a prep school learn about the importance of expressing one's self from a free-thinking professor. Is this one worth the hype everyone gives it? IMDb 216: Andrei Tarkovsky's biographical telling of famous religious painter,Andrei Roublev's life during medieval Russia. Which Andrei was more talented? The painter or the filmmaker? Next week we're celebrating the year anniversary of the finale of Game of Thrones with actor Eric Nolan, a wildling from seasons 5-8, who also has appeared in History's Vikings and Syfy's Krypton. We love you guys and stay SWWEEEEEEEEETTTT

The OTC duo round out their review of the Harry Potter franchise with a discussion of the Deathly Hallows Pt 2. In a fitting, if flawed, end to Harry's story, the boyz explore how the film excels at creating great "Potter" moments, how it delivers an emotional payoff and how it could have improve its treatment of minor characters.

Logan and Ali conclude their epic Harry Potter movie binge with the final chapter in the main series, The Deathly Hallows Part 2. We explore the themes of Death, Sacrifice, and Courage from the final installment of the ultimate battle between good and evil in the wizarding world. Logan and Ali are back for our penultimate episode of the Harry Potter binge, this week discussing Deathly Hallows part 1, and while it drags at times, this movie is 2.5 hours of setting up for the final battle between Harry Potter and Voldemort. We look back at the 12 year journey of the release of the HP movies, and compare the production to 'Boyhood' and Avengers, but there has really never been a blockbuster series as ambitious in its' scope as the HP franchise. We then dive into the narrative and discuss themes of choices, redemption, and morality as the trio branch off from their yearly Hogwarts excursion to attempt to destroy all the Horcrux's. A journey that separates them from the wizarding world for much of the plot, before being thrust back into the Malfoy's residence for an epic conclusion, and maybe the saddest death in the whole series. Harry and Co have to confront everything from their past before being able to move on to the final battle against Voldemort and all the corruption and hatred he represents in the wizarding world, but does David Yates stick the landing? Check out our final HP podcast next week which will include a chance to win the Blu Ray set!Follow us on Twitter: @HedrichFiles + @helloalievans

This week Beauty and the Bitch are actually wrapping up our Harry Potter talks with Part 2 of our Deathly Hallows discussion. It's bittersweet that we made it all this way; a year-and-a-half into our podcast and our beloved Potter-talk is ACTUALLY wrapping up. We've got all the feelings, all the hype, lots of jokes (we coat our sadness with comedy), predictions about futures & musings on the past. Also shade. SO MUCH SHADE. Hot takes: Hermione is NOT a virgin, but Harry and Ron for sure are (for sure!). If you read Harry Potter backwards, the satanic messaging becomes clear. FACT. OKAY. We will now commence... BURNING THE ENTIRE SERIES IN EFFiGY!!! Praise Be!!! May the Lord Open!!! GROSS. Sorry. Religious Fit. Hope you've enjoyed making your way through Harry Potter with us over the last 1.5 years. It's been great on our end. NOW, onward to filler episodes! :) PLUGS: Mic wants to remind you of his strong stance: FUG THE EFFING EPILOGUE. This week Beauty and the Bitch are taking on Part 1 of our Harry Potter finale (of the original series...we'll find more HP to talk about!). It's bittersweet that we made it all this way; a year-and-a-half into our podcast and our beloved Potter-talk is ACTUALLY wrapping up. We have so many emotions about the first time we read this book (Mic has only read it once because he doesn't like for things to end). We've got all the feelings, all the hype, and some movie chatter (some good, some BAD). TBH, we were not into Part 1 of the film. So sorry (not sorry). Thank you for following our journey with Harry (AND HERMIONE!); please enjoy jokes, banter and information about one of our favorite things in existence (and check out part 2 next week!). PLUGS: Mic thinks you should read "The Belgariad" series by David Eddings to scratch that fantasy/coming of age itch. This amazing series is a fantasy classic. If you love Harry Potter, then you'll probably love this too! Also, if you are in need of help or assistance or want to know what resources are available in your community (food needs, rent assistance, homelessness, etc.), please call 2-1-1. THIS IS A GREAT RESOURCE AND YOU CAN CALL ANYWHERE IN THE US!
In Ep #44 Tony and Eddie realize that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 is a little…well, hollow. Was Harry Potter the first franchise to split a book into two films? Was that decision merited? Who do we have to talk to about not repeating this mistake with future films about the world of Harry…oh, right. It’s too late. The boys want to love this movie. They truly do. But in this film, just like in this episode, much time is spent just moving things along so that we can see what happens in Part 2. This week they drank beer from North Coast and Southern Tier brewing companies.
The DCEU tries again and to mos t everyone it seems they finally stuck a landing, but Matt has a few bones to pick with the movie, and makes some bold statements. Kyle's back and the phone delay definitely causes some wacky miscommunications, and Matt gives Kyle a doomsday clock to force him to watch Split. We also discuss becoming new fans of Twin Peaks with TP expert, Matt.Spoilers: Wonder Woman, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Pt. 1Featuring: Everett Mobly, Kendall Mobly, Matt Daniels, Kyle Melton

Some may be wondering about my song of choice for this week, I can explain quite quickly. I don't have the new soundtrack for HP8 and I didn't want to try and download anything today, so I grabbed something I already had and the title of the song worked, kinda, with this new release. So Chris was a bum and didn't respond to my text so here I am recording by myself for your amusement. There was a little bit of news to be had, but trust me next week should be filled with all sorts of new info on movies like The Avengers or Breaking Dawn. The Trailer Spot this week is The Dark Knight Rises, and this one is for real this time. I discuss the amazing week Harry Potter had at the Box Office. And then I also review Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2. And finally there's the Closing Comments. Enjoy the show! Opening and Closing Song- Waiting for the End by Linkin Park
What are the Deathly Hallows, is Snape good or evil, what is Dumbledore's sexual orientation, why is Voldemore bald? These questions and more will not be answered in this episode. Alright so we talk about the news, we have a pretty awesome Trailer Spot, we also have the Box Office Report, and to finish things off we discuss and review Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1. Enjoy the show! Opening and Closing Song- Sky Battle by Alexandre Desplat
