In this milestone episode, we're taking you behind the scenes of one of our internal projects: building a brand-new AI bot for the ECF community. Two years ago, we dipped our toes into the AI space with our first attempt… and let's just say it didn't quite pan out. But a lot has changed since then. Now that AI is not only more powerful but more accessible, we've decided to try again—with clearer goals, a sharper focus, and a commitment to enhancing the member experience rather than replacing the human connection ECF is built on. Listen in as we talk about what's changed in the AI space, how we're thinking about ethics and privacy, and what this new tool is designed to do. (Spoiler: it's not just another chatbot.) We're also sharing real use cases where we've already integrated AI into the ECF platform, as well as a few thoughts on where AI is not useful and what it all means for future business strategy. Feeling inspired after reading Jamie Glowacki's book “Oh Crap! I Have a Toddler”, the two of us muse on our current top three core values, where these values likely stemmed from, and how, specifically, they shape our parenting decisions. As Jamie so eloquently puts it, nothing a toddler says or does should theoretically trigger an adult to have an unreasonable, extreme reaction. So, if we are having such a reaction, it's likely due to an unresolved trigger or childhood wound. The values we place highest on a pedestal stem from what we view as being the most important aspects of functioning in the world, which will look different from person to person depending on how you were raised, your life experiences, relationships, and your temperament.Just like a Venn diagram, the two of us share some overlap with our core values and then branch off into varied territory. Illustrating how our values play out in real time with our children is where the magic lies. In this episode, we don't aim to tell you which values to hold dearly but how to consider them!& we want to hear from you! What are your top parenting values and why?Support the showJOIN OUR NEW, PRIVATE COMMUNITY! DONATE (Thank you!!

Alaina faced obstacle after obstacle during her first pregnancy, which happened to be a di-di, identical twin girl pregnancy, and her initiation into motherhood resulted in the first twin being born vaginally and the second via cesarean.Recovering from a c-section plus physical separation for days from her babies due to a NICU stay didn't deter Alaina from physiologic mothering and tuning into her high nurture intuition.Alaina walks us through about her mindset, values, and support system which motivated her to break free from the mainstream narrative- especially the one perpetuated in social media- that moms of multiples must pump and rely on formula from day 1, contain their babies in containers, and separate them into their own sleeping spaces despite having spent every day together in the womb.Follow Alaina on Instagram @nurturingtwinsIf you're expecting or recently birthed multiples, you must check out her course, Embracing Infancy! The two of us philosophize about the distinctions between education versus learning and why even the most prestigious schools are failing today's children. As moms on the homeschooling track, we reveal how we are reclaiming the lost art of lifelong learning and why we are not subscribing to the school system's broken idea of "education" i.e. memorization, regurgitation and rigid metrics. We relish in the endless opportunities to shape our children's worldview and share which values are most important for us to cultivate in our children as they transition into older toddlerhood and ultimately young childhood.Takeaways from our discussion:Nurturing a child's interests can cultivate a lifelong love of learning.Homeschooling doesn't have to be rigid; it can be play-based.Values instilled at home shape a child's worldview.Community plays a vital role in a child's developing group dynamics skills.Food choices impact a child's health and awareness.Creative play is essential for learning and development.Observation and awe are key in developing mindfulness.Breaking free from traditional education can empower children.Language development is fostered through real-world communication.Patience and presence are crucial in nurturing a child's growth.PS- Our MOTR merch has dropped! Fresh back from vacation, Lindsey shares the powerful "Both/And Recovery" strategy that finally breaks you free from black-and-white extremes and helps you find the beautiful gray area where real healing happens. You'll discover why perfectionist recovery keeps you stuck, learn specific Both/And reframes for common recovery struggles, and walk away with a tangible 3-step practice to implement this week. This isn't about being perfect at recovery—it's about being human while healing. What You'll Learn ✨ Why all-or-nothing thinking keeps you trapped in recovery cycles ✨ The revolutionary Both/And approach that changes everything ✨ Specific reframes for "good vs. bad" food thinking ✨ How to hold space for fear AND commitment simultaneously ✨ Why the "gray area" is where your freedom actually lives ✨ A practical 3-step method to implement Both/And thinking this week Key Takeaways The All-or-Nothing Prison Your brain categorizes everything as perfect or disaster, on-track or off-track, good foods or bad foods. This binary thinking keeps you swinging between extremes and never experiencing the freedom you crave. The space between extremes isn't the danger zone—it's where all the magic happens. The Both/And Revolution You can hold two seemingly opposite truths simultaneously, and this is where real healing occurs. Recovery isn't about choosing sides—it's about embracing complexity and being beautifully, imperfectly human. Why This Changes Everything The Both/And approach removes the pressure that keeps you stuck. When you stop trying to be perfect at recovery, you actually start recovering. Recovery isn't about eliminating difficult thoughts—it's about learning to hold space for all of it. Powerful Both/And Recovery Examples Fear & Courage Instead of: "I have to be brave to start recovery" Both/And: "I can be both scared of recovery AND committed to it" Restriction & Nourishment Instead of: "I either restrict or I'm out of control" Both/And: "I can both want to restrict AND choose to nourish myself" Body Image Struggles Instead of: "I have to love my body all the time" Both/And: "I can both love my body AND have days when I struggle with it" Food Morality Instead of: "Foods are either good or bad" Both/And: "I can be both 'good' at eating AND have chaotic food days" Recovery Process Instead of: "I'm either perfect at recovery or failing" Both/And: "I can be both in recovery AND not perfect at it" Weight & Health Instead of: "I'm either fat or skinny" Both/And: "I can both be my natural weight AND not love every inch every day" Structure & Flexibility Instead of: "I need rigid routine or I'm lost" Both/And: "I can both crave routine AND need flexibility" Your Both/And Recovery Practice (This Week) Step 1: Notice Your All-or-Nothing Thoughts Catch yourself thinking in extremes about food, body, or recovery. Examples: "I ruined the day" "I'm either on track or off track" "I have to be perfect at this" Step 2: Practice the Both/And Reframe Transform extreme thoughts with "both/and" language: "I both had a challenging food day AND I can nourish myself at my next meal" "I both struggled today AND I'm still committed to my healing" Step 3: Choose Your Next Right Action From this Both/And space, take one small step toward recovery: Eat your next planned meal Call a friend for support Practice self-compassion instead of self-criticism Revolutionary Quotes to Remember "The gray area you've been afraid of? That's not the danger zone—that's where your freedom lives." "Recovery isn't about eliminating all the difficult thoughts and feelings. Recovery is about learning to hold space for all of it—the fear AND the courage, the struggle AND the strength." "The moment you stop trying to be perfect at recovery is the moment you actually start recovering." "You can both feel uncertain about this approach AND try it anyway. You can both be scared of letting go of control AND take one small step toward freedom." "Your recovery doesn't have to be perfect to be powerful. Your healing doesn't have to be linear to be real." Personal Story: Post-Vacation Recovery Evolution Lindsey shares her transformation from post-vacation restriction panic to flexible re-entry into routine. Learn how the Both/And approach allows you to both crave structure AND ease back into real life without rigidity—a perfect metaphor for recovery itself. The Science Behind Both/And Thinking Why All-or-Nothing Thinking Develops Eating disorders thrive on binary thinking Perfectionism creates impossible standards Black-and-white thoughts feel "safer" but create more suffering How Both/And Thinking Heals Reduces perfectionist pressure Allows for human complexity Creates space for growth and mistakes Normalizes the recovery process Ready to Live the Both/And Approach? The #BackOffBobbie campaign lives on, because someone has to say what Operation Stork Speed refused to: the real risk in formula isn't just seed oils or trace heavy metals (the red herrings distracting the #MAHA moms). It's cronobacter, a rare but deadly bacteria that continues to fly under the radar while mommy influencers parade USDA organic labels and metal-free test results like gold stars. This week, we're joined by Natasha Vargas-Cooper of Radical Moms Union to expose the uncomfortable truths formula companies don't want mothers to know. We talk about the fox guarding the hen house of formula testing, the 626 NEC lawsuits filed against major manufacturer Abbott, RFK Jr.'s murky ties to the formula industry, and how social media marketing has become the newest weapon against maternal instinct. This conversation isn't about shame. It's about power: power in knowledge, power in truth, and power in numbers. It's time to reclaim motherhood from corporate capture. Get involved with RMU if mobilizing mothers to advocate for change makes you excited!
