Jesus Followers Have, Are, and Will Face Derision, Persecution, and Death; But God Addresses “Impossible” Situations and Transforms Lives MESSAGE SUMMARY: The Apostles did not get into their life roles, after Jesus Resurrection and Ascension, without much grief and anguish; but Jesus transformed their lives. God addresses impossible situations in our lives, too; and then He transforms our lives, through His grace, into something of beauty. Jesus' Cross was an impossible situation, but now we view the Cross as a sign of triumph -- our triumph as believers and followers of Jesus! In John 10:27-30, Jesus succinctly describes how He transforms the lives of those that follow Him: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one.”. Additionally, in today's uncertainties and fears and with the new and uncharted paths that our life today demands that we follow, Paul, in Colossians 1:5-6, gives us hope through God's Grace and the Gospel: “because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and growing—as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth".     TODAY'S PRAYER: Father, when I think about my losses, it can feel like I have no skin to protect me. I feel raw, scraped to the bone. Looking at Job and Jesus helps, but I must admit that I struggle to see something new being birthed out of the old. Enlarge my soul through the trials and losses of my life. In Jesus' name, amen.        Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 101). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Inadequacy. Rather, I will abide in the Lord's Abundance. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). In this message, Pastor Karl wraps up the church's three-week study of Matthew 12 — what he calls the hinge point of Jesus's ministry and of all human history. Drawing from verses 40 through 50, he unpacks three powerful moments that reveal the heart of what Jesus was communicating to a resistant generation.Pastor Karl begins with Jesus's references to Jonah and the Queen of Sheba, showing how Jesus used these figures to slam the door on the demand for endless proof. The issue, he argues, was never a lack of evidence — it was a lack of surrender. Unbelief isn't intellectual; it's volitional. From there, Pastor Karl digs into one of the most misunderstood passages in Matthew: the parable of the empty house. When an unclean spirit returns to find a swept but empty home, it brings seven more spirits worse than itself. Jesus's point is sobering — moral reform without spiritual transformation is a setup for collapse. Cleaning up your life in your own strength, without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, leaves you more vulnerable than before, not less. Finally, Pastor Karl addresses Jesus's surprising response to his own family, and what it reveals about who truly belongs to the family of God. It isn't inherited proximity or religious familiarity — it's submission and obedience to the Father. This episode is a challenge and an encouragement: stop trying to clean the house on your own. The victorious life Jesus offers isn't just about forgiveness — it's about being filled and clothed in the power of the Holy Spirit.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 8:00am, 9:30am & 11:00am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

This Easter, Pastor Karl takes an unconventional approach — rather than turning to a traditional resurrection passage, he stays in the church's ongoing study of Matthew 12, the hinge point of Jesus's ministry and the moment that set the crucifixion in motion.Through Matthew 12, Pastor Karl unpacks what it truly means to reckon with who Jesus claimed to be. He explores the miracle of the possessed, blind, and mute man — and how the religious leaders' refusal to accept what they witnessed reveals the same pattern of avoidance that people default to today. Jesus's response cuts through every excuse: there is no neutral ground. You're either for him or against him.Pastor Karl also addresses one of Scripture's most misunderstood concepts — the unforgivable sin. He sets the record straight on what blasphemy against the Holy Spirit actually means, why it's less about God's refusal to forgive and more about humanity's refusal to repent, and how a hardened heart doesn't happen overnight. The sermon closes with the Sign of Jonah — Jesus's declaration that the resurrection would be the only sign his generation would receive. Pastor Karl's challenge to listeners is direct: you don't need more evidence. The resurrection isn't a suggestion or an invitation. It's a declaration. The question is simply what you'll do with what you already know.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 8:00am, 9:30am & 11:00am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

You believe Jesus rose from the dead—but what does that actually change in your life?In this Easter season episode of More Than Conquerors, Terry and Reneé Mize challenge believers to move beyond simply celebrating the resurrection and begin living in the reality of it. The resurrection of Jesus is not just a moment in history—it is the foundation of our authority, our faith, and our daily walk with God.Terry teaches that if the resurrection is real—and it is—then it should produce real change. Real faith. Real boldness. Real action. The same power that raised Christ from the dead was never meant to stay in the past—it was meant to be lived out in the present. This message goes beyond tradition and invites believers to examine their lives. Are we living like He rose? Are we walking in the authority, purpose, and victory that the resurrection made available? You'll discover: What the resurrection actually changed for the believer Why faith must move from belief to action How to live with resurrection power in everyday life What it looks like to walk in authority and purpose Why Easter is not the end—it's the beginning This is not just a message to hear—it's a reality to live.

The Cross & Resurrection Change Everything | Easter at Burnt Hickory What if the final words of Jesus on the cross—"It is finished"—hold the key to your freedom today? This Easter message explores how these three words changed everything, not just for those who witnessed the crucifixion, but for everyone seeking hope, healing, and transformation in their lives now. Key Insights: 1. The Meaning of "Tetelestai" - Jesus' final declaration was used by servants reporting completed tasks, artists finishing masterpieces, and priests confirming sacrifices—all pointing to how Jesus fully satisfied our debt of sin. Mary's Journey from Grief to Joy - Mary came to the tomb seeking closure, not resurrection. Her encounter with the risen Jesus transformed her sorrow into purpose, demonstrating how Jesus can "put you back together" regardless of your struggle. The Resurrection's Transformative Power - The disciples went from hiding in fear to becoming the foundation of Christian faith because of "none other than the undisputed resurrection of King Jesus." This message explores how the historical events of Easter continue to impact lives today. Whether you're seeking to understand how much Jesus loves you, considering giving your life to Him, or finding yourself "in a deep, dark, heavy moment" needing to come back to faith, discover how the cross and resurrection offer more than religious tradition—they provide the power to transform your story completely. Tim Keller wrote: "The resurrection was indeed a miraculous display of God's power, but we should not see it as a suspension of the natural order of the world. Rather it was the beginning of the restoration of the natural order of the world, the world as God intended it to be. . . . The resurrection means not merely that Christians have a hope for the future but that they have a hope that comes from the future. The Bible's startling message is that when Jesus rose, he brought the future kingdom of God into the present."So, when Jesus makes this statement: "I am the resurrection and the life!" It is such a singularity of truth that one cannot possibly find greater superlatives to describe its importance. But the setting is what melts our heart: three friends, one dead. An ugly grave. Hot tears of mourning, loss, and even anger. We need the one who calms storms with a word. We need the Word who because flesh and is the resurrection and life!
