Send us a textIn a world filled with uncertainty, it's comforting to know that we serve an unchanging God. "Constant" by Anthony Gargiula, Jordin Sparks, and Maverick City Music reminds us of this powerful truth—God is constant. This episode explores the biblical foundation of God's immutability and how it affects our faith and daily lives.Explore this attribute of God with me and then settle in to a Psalm. In this episode, I discuss:Episode Guide Available: – Download your free Episode Guide at michellenezat.com/512download to help you interact with Scripture.God's Immutability: Unlike humans, who change constantly, God remains the same. His attributes, promises, and purposes never shift.Communicable vs. Incommunicable Attributes: God shares some of His attributes (like love and mercy) with us, but others (like omniscience and immutability) belong to Him alone.Implications of God's Unchanging Nature: Because God is constant, His love, promises, and salvation are secure. In this podcast episode 52 "The Ministry of Presence," Cherisse and her friend Christie Willumsen, explore the importance of "Being Present": with God, with our friends, and learning how to be present with ourselves too. Christie, a self proclaimed introvert, steps way out of her comfort zone to be here and share her journey. She shares her story and of how and when her heart was captured by Jesus. We talk Introverts vs Extroverts. We talk raising children and even being a new Grandparent. We talk about the hills and valleys of marriage and how she and Bob have mentored us through the last decade of marriage and truly championed our marriage when we need it most. We talk about Grief, deep grief and how do we walk beside friends in deep seasons of sorrow. How to love them well. She shares how this season of life has brought about "The Journey Collective" a way for her to love on her friends well through making a beautiful reminder they can see daily to show them their love and value. She shares what she is learning in this process and how these works of art are bringing light and hope out of some dark corners of life.  Chrisite shares the power of being PRESENT with our friends in times of grief and truly how the simple act of showing up for your friends in times or joy and sorrow can be the biggest gift we can offer those we love.  She leaves us with these words: "It is ok to not be okay. Be willing to be honest with where you are and what you are feeling. Find a trusted person you can be really vulnerable with that will just walk with you as you process and doesn't feel the need to fix you. Have someone that allows you to say the things that you are really thinking especially when you are really struggling with the Lord."  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Connect with Christie Willumsen Email: christie@thejourneycollective.com  Instagram: @thejourneyco_    Music and Worship Bands CU Worship: "00:14:02" Maverick City Music: "00:14:22" Upper Room: "00:14:35" Books and Audiobooks The Bible: "00:20:50" "Practicing the Way" by John Mark Comer: "00:46:26" "New Morning Mercies": "00:45:03" Key Quotes "It's okay to not be okay.": "00:55:05" "Find somebody you can talk to.": "00:55:16" "Be the friend you want to have.": "00:55:28" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Join our "Rhythms that Restore" Community on Facebook:  Walk through life IN COMMUNITY and beside others who are learning and putting these new Rhythms in place. What if the key to overcoming life's challenges lies in the transformative power of a name? On today's episode of "Starting Right with Danny Mac," we explore the profound impact of music and the name of Jesus through the lens of two inspiring songs performed by Maverick City Music and Tauren Wells. These songs, "There's Something About That Name" by Bill and Gloria Gaither and "All My Hope" by David Crowder, though penned decades apart, resonate with a shared message of salvation and redemption. With references to scriptures like Philippians 2:9-11 and Acts 4:12, we reflect on how the name of Jesus embodies peace, healing, and hope for us all. Here is the youtube link today's songs.                                            https://youtu.be/dAZHom9775kWe would love to hear your comments. We talk about how motherhood is the hardest thing you'll ever do, and the most rewarding. Finally, we go deep into how we navigate the expectations of being South Asian, career, and motherhood, and how they shape the lessons we teach our children. What We Talked About: A Labor of Love: Maryanne reflects on being a mom at the height of her career, the expectations and judgments about motherhood, and her desire to give a gift to her daughter inspired her new song, Labor (4:48)The Great Journey of Motherhood: Maryanne and Ami talk frankly about the challenges of motherhood, including not wanting children and a career, difficult pregnancies, and post-partum depression, and how they would never go back and make a different decision + motherhood as the highest form of growth: how being a parent helps you reflect and heal in your own life, how children teach you what matters + Maryanne describes being a mother has made more confident and comfortable in her skin than she has ever been (7:42)South Asian Motherhood, Then and Now: Ami and Maryanne acknowledge how the sacrifices of their South Asian parents enabled them to pursue their dreams + the conflict between the traditional expectations of South Asian motherhood and the need to be happy and fulfilled for oneself and one's children + how their pursuit of career and motherhood can help their children grow and live their dreams + how Ami is being a cool mom (11:47)  Growing Up Brown in America: Maryanne opens up about the expectations of her culture and her constant fear of how her decisions would impact her wider family + the balance between being American and celebrating and defending her culture + navigating the music and gospel worlds while being neither white nor black (17:13)“You Know What, Girl? There's No Typical South Asian:”  Maryanne celebrates her multiple identities of being South Asian, Christian, a female artist, and a mother all in one (19:53) Connect with Maryanne:https://maryannejgeorge.com/InstagramTwitter/XYouTube Channel Let's talk Connect:Instagram This podcast is produced by Ginni Media

In today's devotional, we're launching a brand new series looking at various promises our heavenly Father makes towards us, and creating space to take hold of them a little bit more every day. Today we're looking at how God promises us his will, and how we can live our lives in connection to his desires and plans for us. May God stir our hearts to surrender anything that isn't best for us, and may he empower us to take hold of his passion, and his desires, that we might align our lives with his will. Our Scripture for today comes from Ephesians 1:9-10, and today's worship is Promises by Maverick City Music.   –   Thank you for listening to today's podcast, the first in our weeklong series looking at the promises of God.    Taking hold of God's promises can be really challenging, especially if there's been a time where we felt like God didn't come through for us. So if you feel like your heart is blocked up at all this week as we focus on this subject of God's promises, I want to encourage you, before you press plan on this podcast, to take a moment and ask for God's healing.    Sometimes just his nearness, a revelation of his goodness, can help soften those parts of our hearts that have become hardened over time.    Make sure to rate and review the podcast if this episode was meaningful for you, and subscribe if you're just joining us so you won't miss one of these free guides to God's presence.   And make sure to check out today's worship song to spend some time putting God at the center of your day.    Have a wonderful rest of your day, and may God bless you as you seek him.
